时间:80分钟 满分:90分
第Ⅰ卷
1. 阅读理解(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)
(A)
Host: Welcome to the talk show Clear View. Today let's explore the topic "Should rules be broken sometimes?". Let's start with a story. Alex was a taxi driver. One day, he had a very sick passenger. Alex drove very fast to the hospital at once. He didn't slow down at red lights. He even flew through one. But was that okay? I'm glad to welcome our two guests - Zhang Xinyan and Tom Blake. Xinyan is a lawyer and Tom is a university teacher. They will share their thoughts about this topic.
Host: Tom, what's your opinion?
Tom: In my opinion, of course, we should not break rules. But in some very special situations, breaking rules can save lives. Just like this taxi driver.
Xinyan: I don't think so. People should not break rules. We have rules for a reason. Take this taxi driver for example. He could cause an accident. Instead of saving a life, he might kill someone.
Tom: I understand that, Xinyan. But this taxi driver drove fast but safely, and he saved a life. I believe, in some urgent situations, it might be okay to break certain rules without causing harm.
Xinyan: I see your point, but he could also choose to call the police. To sum up, rules are good for us and for society. Breaking them can have very bad effects.

Digital Life: Convenience and Challenges
In the modern world, digital life is everywhere. Smartphones and the Internet change our lives a lot.
The Good Side of Digital Life
Digital life makes our daily lives easy. We don’t need to go out to do many things. For example, we can order food at home with a phone. We can also talk to our friends far away by video call. And learning is easier too. We can use apps to study English or watch short videos to learn new things.
The Bad Side of Digital Life
But digital life also has some problems. Sometimes, people get too addicted to their phones. They play games or watch videos for hours. They look at their screens even when they are eating or talking to others. This is bad for their eyes and their schoolwork. Some people look at their phones when they eat or talk to family. They don’t enjoy the real life around them.
How to Use Digital Life Well
We need to find a good way to use digital things. First, make a rule for screen time. For example, only play games for 20 minutes a day. Second, go out and play sports with friends. It’s better than chatting online. Remember: real life is more fun than the online world.
6. What can we do with digital life according to the passage?
A. Sleep all day B. Order food at home
C. Do homework for us D. Play sports outside
7. The underlined word "addicted" in Paragraph 3 means ______.
A. 讨厌 B. 沉迷 C. 害怕 D. 擅长
8. What is bad for students’ eyes and schoolwork?

C. How to Make Friends Online D. The Most Popular Phones
10. What can we do to use digital life well?
A. Make a rule for screen time. B. Spend more time on video games.
C. Never use smartphones or the Internet. D. Chat with friends online all the time.

Rules are an important part of our daily lives. We can find them at school, at home, and on the road. They act as guidelines(准则)to keep our life in order and help us live in a safe way.
At school, there are lots of rules for students to follow. We must wear school uniforms from Monday to Friday to show our identity as part of the school community. We have to get to school on time and can’t be late for class. We also need to keep the classroom clean and quiet, and respect our teachers and classmates. Cheating in exams is not allowed, as it is unfair to others who work hard. These rules not only maintain order but also help us develop good habits.
At home, family rules are also important. We should finish our homework before watching TV or playing games. We need to help our parents with household chores, like cleaning the table, tidying our own rooms, or watering the plants. We are not allowed to use mobile phones during dinner, because this time is for family members to communicate and share their daily stories. Family rules help us become responsible and caring people.
On the road, traffic rules are necessary to keep us safe. We must stop and wait when the traffic light turns red, and only cross the road when it is green. We should walk on the sidewalk instead of running in the street. When riding bikes, we have to keep to the right side of the road and wear helmets to protect ourselves. Breaking traffic rules may lead to accidents and put our lives in danger.
Some people may think rules are boring. But in fact, rules are made to protect us, not to limit our freedom. If everyone plays by the rules, our world will become a more beautiful, peaceful, and pleasant place to live in.
11. Where can we find rules according to the passage?
A. Only at school and home B. At school, home and on the road
C. Only on the road D. At school and on the road
12. Why is cheating in exams not allowed at school?
A. Because it’s unfair to hard-working students.
B. Because it can make the classroom noisy.
C. Because it will make students late for class.
D. Because it is not a school rule.
13. Which of the following is a family rule mentioned in the passage?
A. Wear school uniforms on weekdays.
B. Don’t use mobile phones during dinner.
C. Walk on the sidewalk when crossing the street.
D. Keep the classroom clean and quiet.
14. What will happen if we break traffic rules according to the passage?
A. We will get good grades at school. B. We will become responsible people.
C. We may cause accidents and risk our lives. D. We will hurt others who work hard.
15. What is the writer’s opinion about rules?
A. Rules are boring and we don’t have to follow them.
B. Rules are guidelines that protect us and keep life in order.
C. Rules are only useful for students and drivers.
D. Rules will limit our freedom and make life less fun.
