The refrigerator (冰箱) is an important invention that helps us keep food fresh. But how was it invented? Let’s take a look at its history.
Long ago, people used different ways to store food. They kept food in cold streams (溪流), or iceboxes. Iceboxes were wooden cabinets (储藏柜) with blocks of ice inside. However, ice melted quickly, and food still got bad easily. People needed a better way to keep food cold.
In the early 1800s, scientists discovered that some chemicals could absorb heat and make the air cooler. This idea led to the first refrigeration machines. In 1834, an American inventor named Jacob Perkins built a machine that used gas to cool things.
Later, in 1876, a German engineer named Carl von Linde created a better refrigeration system (系统) using a special gas. His invention made it easier to produce cold air. However, these early refrigerators were too big and expensive for most families. In the 1920s, companies started making smaller and safer refrigerators for homes. They used a chemical called Freon, which wasn’t bad for people. By the 1930s, many families could afford (买得起) refrigerators, and they became popular.
Over time, refrigerators became more energy-efficient (高效节能的). Today, refrigerators come in many sizes and styles, helping people store food safely.
Thanks to the hard work of scientists and inventors, we now have a convenient way to keep our food fresh. The refrigerator is a great example of how technology makes life easier!

Do you know AI? It seems that everyone is talking about AI these days. AI makes machines, such as computers or robots, seem smart.
Some AI tools like Siri and Alexa can answer questions and do simple jobs, like turning the TV on and off. Some smarter AI tools, like Copilot and ChatGPT, can even talk like humans.
AI can help with homework, but first you should make sure your school says it is OK. You can ask an AI tool for information on a subject, like asking about Mars (火星) for your science homework. But remember you should do your work by yourself. Don’t just copy what AI says. Use your own words.
AI can be like a teacher. If you don’t understand a maths problem, an AI tool can tell you how to solve it and show you examples. If you can’t spell a word, an AI tool can spell it for you. It is a fun way to learn.
But AI is not always reliable. AI is very smart , but sometimes it might make mistakes. So, always check its information sources (来源) to make sure it is right. AI is a great tool to help you learn, but you should ask for help from teachers or parents to use it in the right way.
