The Spring Festival is a time for children to get lucky money. Do you think parents should keep their children’s lucky money? Here, some middle school students are sharing their ideas on the internet.

control (控制) themselves when they see the things they like. When they are old enough, they can manage their money.
·In Wang Xin’s opinion, it is too difficult for children to manage their money wisely as there are so many distractions (干扰) outside. With a lot of money, they may be cheated (被骗) by bad people. And this will make them get into trouble.
·Li Yi thinks children should be free to spend their lucky money because it’s a good chance (机会) to learn money management skills. Children can learn how to use their money in a wise way. What parents should do is to guide (引导) them.
·When it comes to Cui Han’s idea, children should be trusted to manage their money. According to the latest Civil Code (《民法典》), 8 years old is a dividing line (分界线). That means children over 8 have the right (权利) to manage their money. They shouldn’t depend on their parents too much.

★Pocket money
Most kids in Britain get pocket money from their parents. They might have to do chores to get their pocket money. These chores can include cleaning, cooking, washing the dishes, and ironing.
★Part-time work
A part-time job is an option (选择) for teenagers who don’t have pocket money or who want to make extra (额外的) money. About 15 percent of teenagers have a job. Only children over the age of 13 can work. Popular part-time jobs for teens include babysitting (临时保姆), delivering (派送) newspapers, shop work and restaurant work.
Children in Britain can work two hours a day at most on a school day but not during school hours. During weekends and school holidays, they can work longer hours.
★Bank account
Some children and teenagers have a bank account. There is no legal (法定的) age limit (限制) at which you can open a bank account, but a bank manager can decide whether (是否) to open an account for a child or young person. Parents can put pocket money directly into their child’s bank account. Most banks have a prepaid (预付的) bank card designed for young people.
