1.Watch a video

Teacher plays a short video about animal in a zoo and asks:

1. What place is it? 

2. What do you see?

3. Do you like zoos? Why do people build zoos?

观察学生回答问题的表现，了解学生对于动物园的掌握情况。

4. Is this a good zoo? Why or why not?

5. What should a good zoo be like?

2.Today’s project

Teacher shows the poster and leads into today’s project --- Design your own zoo. And then present the four steps.

3. Guessing game

Teacher asks students to work in groups of four, take turns to think of an animal and describe it. The others in the group try to guess the animal and write it down in the table.

4. Choose animals

Teacher asks each group to select some of the animals from the previous discussion for their zoo. Ask students to give reasons for their choices.

5. Draw a map of the zoo

(1) Teacher shows common signs on the map, like restroom, food, gifts and so on.

(2) Teacher shows some samples for students. Students discuss how to arrange the animals in the zoo. Categorize the
