Frequently Asked Questions for Yellowstone National Park
How much is the entrance fee?
$85-Private, non-commercial vehicle; $30-Motorcycle or snowmobile (winter);
$20-Visitors 16 and older entering by foot, bike, ski, etc.
*This fee provides the visitor with a 7-day entrance permit for both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.
Where should we stay?
Your decision may depend on how much time you have and what you want to see the most. If you plan on visiting Yellowstone National Park for only a few days and want to experience some of the main attractions, then West Yellowstone would be a good base. If you want to have the full park experience then perhaps lodging (住宿) at Old Faithful would be a good choice. If you want to view the most wildlife, then we suggest the Northeast Entrance.
When is the best time to visit the park?
This depends on what your interests are. Spring has abundant wildlife, roaring waterfalls and wild weather. Summer has it all including the most crowds, so you’d better get out early and eat your breakfast on the road! Fall is a special time of year. Everything seems to be declining including the crowds. Winter is a time of being a bit of social isolation. In years past it was more “economical” to visit most of the park. Now it is more restricted unless you can afford a snow-coach or guided snowmobile tour.
Can I get Cell and Wi-Fi?
Free public Wi-Fi is available at Albright Visitor Center and at some park lodges for registered guests. Cell service is extremely limited, with reception only available in or near major developed areas. In summer, service often reaches its limit in these areas.
Yet, it is sad to see the latest generation fade away from normal everyday activities and conversation. Get out, look around, admire the wonders. There’re plenty of natural and human distractions around every corner. The last thing we want to do is distract visitors from Yellowstone’s wonders especially while driving.
21.How much is the entrance fee in total if Jeffery makes a self-driving trip to Yellowstone with his father and his 14-year-old daughter during the winter vacation?
A.$50 B.$85 C.$105 D.$125
22.The underlined sentence implies that .
A.most of the park was restricted to visitors in winter in the past
B.visiting Yellowstone in winter is preferred by most local people
C.winter used to be the best time to visit the park in terms of expenses
D.nowadays most people choose to tour the park on a snow-coach in winter
23.We can learn from the passage that .
A.the wireless connection is not satisfactory
B.Old Faithful provides a full view of the park
C.the entrance ticket applies to Yellowstone only
D.younger generations make up the majority of park visitors

School began in earnest next day. A profound impression was made upon me, I remember, by the roar of voices in the schoolroom suddenly becoming hushed as death when Mr. Creakle entered after breakfast, and stood in the doorway looking round upon us like a giant in a story-book surveying his captives.
Tungay stood at Mr. Creakle’s elbow. He had no occasion, I thought, to cry out “Silence!” so brutally, for the boys were all struck speechless and motionless.
“Now, boys, this is a new half. Take care what you’re about, in this new half. Come fresh up to the lessons, I advise you, for I come fresh up to the punishment. I won’t flinch (退缩). It will be of no use your rubbing yourselves; you won’t rub the marks out that I shall give you. Now get to work, every boy!”
When this dreadful speech was over, Mr. Creakle came to where I sat, and told me that if I were famous for biting, he was famous for biting, too. He then showed me the cane, and asked me what I thought of THAT, for a tooth? Was it a sharp tooth, hey? Was it a double tooth, hey? Had it a deep prong, hey? Did it bite, hey? Did it bite? At every question he gave me fleshy cut with it that made me writhe (扭动), and I was very soon in tears also.
Not that I mean to say these were special marks of distinction, which only I received. On contrary, a large majority of the boys (especially the smaller ones) were visited with similar instances of notice, as Mr. Creakle made the round of the schoolroom, Half the room was writhing and crying, before the day’s work began; and how much of it had writhed and cried before the day’s work was over, I am really afraid to recollect, lest I should seem to exaggerate.
One afternoon, when we were all harassed (疲惫焦虑的) into a state of dire confusion, Tungay came in, and called out in his usual strong way: “Visitors for David Copperfield!”
A few words were interchanged between him and Mr, Creakle, as, who the visitors were, and what room they were to be shown into; and then I, who had, according to custom, stood up on the announcement being made, and felt quite faint with astonishment, was told to go by the back stairs and get a clean shirt on, before I repaired to the dining-room. These orders I obeyed, in such a flutter and hurry of my young spirits as I had never known before, and when I got to the parlour (会客室) door, and the thought came into my head that it might be my mother — I had only thought of Mr. or Miss Murdstone until then — I drew back my hand from the lock, and stopped to have a sob before I went in.
At first saw nobody; but feeling a pressure against the door, I looked round it, and there, to my amazement, were Mr. Peggotty and Ham, ducking (低下头) at me with their hats, and squeezing one another against the wall, I could not help laughing; but it was much more in the pleasure of seeing them, than at the appearance they made. We shook hands in a very friendly way; and I laughed and laughed, until I pulled out my pocket-handkerchief and wiped my eyes.
Mr, Peggoty (who never shut his mouth once, I remember, during the visit) showed great concern when he saw me do this, and nudged (轻推) Ham to say something.
“Cheer up!” said Ham, in his simpering (傻笑的) way. “Why, how you have growed!”
“Am I grown?” I said, drying my eyes. I was not crying at anything in particular that I know of, but somehow it made me cry, to see old friends.
“Ain’t he growed!” said Mr. Peggotty.
They made me laugh again by laughing at each other, and then we all three laughed until I was in danger of crying again.

Plastic has become an essential part of modern life, with around 1 million plastic water bottles sold every minute and 5 trillion plastic bags used worldwide every year, according to the UN’s Environment Program. Half of all plastic production is designed for single-use purposes, and the annual output of over 400 million tons is projected to reach 1,100 million tons by 2050. This growing mountain of waste has intensified public and regulatory demands for improved recycling.
Recycling plastic, however, is complex. Many items are dirty or made from multiple layers, making traditional methods ineffective. Consequently, over 90% of plastic waste is buried, or deserted in nature. In response, forward-thinking companies are investing in advanced recycling technologies to turn waste into raw materials for new plastic. Yet, this approach has caused debates.
One common method, pyrolysis, involves heating plastic waste to produce oil and synthetic gas, which powers recycling plants. However, the process releases harmful substances, raising concerns about its environmental impact. Critics argue that, rather than achieving a reduction in carbon emissions(排放), this method might result in similar or even higher levels of emissions compared to the production of new plastic. Some even accuse the industry of using advanced recycling as a way to justify continued plastic production. America’s Environmental Protection Agency has rejected this approach, and European environmental groups share similar concerns.
Despite these challenges, advanced recycling has potential. For instance, Mura Technology in the UK claims its hydrothermal process produces more output with lower carbon emissions, while Australia’s Samsara Eco is developing enzyme-based methods that remove the need for new oil. These advancements could make recycling more efficient and environmentally friendly, helping to keep plastic in use rather than in landfills(填埋场).
While the debate around advanced recycling continues, progress is underway. Britain recently approved a version of the mass-balance approach, and many EU member states are leaning towards acceptance. With further innovation and investment, advanced recycling could help address the global plastic waste crisis.
28.What do the figures in paragraph 1 indicate?
A.The difficulty of recycling. B.The prospect of plastic goods.
C.The severity of plastic waste. D.The popularity of plastic items.
29.Why does advanced recycling meet with criticism?
A.It legalizes plastic production. B.It produces more plastic waste.
C.It does harm to recycling plants. D.It risks higher carbon emissions.
30.What can be inferred about the innovations in advanced recycling?
A.They offer an alternative to plastic. B.They have won popularity in the west.
C.They hold promise for green recycling. D.They guarantee a solution to plastic waste.
31.What is the author’s attitude towards advanced recycling?
A.Critical. B.Objective. C.Doubtful. D.Passionate.

Doctor Dolittle, the well-known, fictional naturalist who famously possesses the ability to converse with animals and understand their languages has now inspired a high-paying science prize aimed at cracking the challenge of interspecies communication. A grand prize of $500,000, awaits whichever research team can make real progress: not just decoding the language of another species but using it to draw a reply from an animal. Last week, an initial $100,000 went to a US team studying dolphin whistles — after decades of recording bottlenose dolphins in Florida, they identified around 20 distinct messaging whistles.
The Coller Dolittle Challenge financed by Jeremy Coller, a vegan and animal lover, is unashamedly modelled on the Turing test That 20th-century test promotes efforts to design a machine capable of imitating human conversation, and became a touchstone in the evolution of AI. It also became a focus for concerns about machines tricking, even taking over, humans. The ability to commune with other species is likely to raise similar, unsettling questions as research progresses. If we were able to decode animal chatter, should this knowledge change how we treat them, whether as pets, labour or food? The prize presents a moral challenge and it forces us to reconsider our relationships with other species.
Philosopher Jonathan Birch, also a judge of the Jeremy Coller Centre, stressed that the Challenge is looking beyond the interspecies communication we have with pets, or that a farmer has with a sheepdog. Those relationships involve signalling and behavioural responses, Birch explains, “but that’s not telling us how animals communicate with each other... this prize is about understanding it so well that we can start to join the conversation.”
While Coller hopes his charity will reshape our attitude to animals, the truth is that even groundbreaking research has largely failed to move the dial on their welfare. Recent work on cephalopod’s (头足类动物) intelligence has not stopped plans to farm the creatures. We might one day be able to understand what animals are saying — but there is no guarantee we will listen.
32.Why is Turing test mentioned in the passage?
A.To stress its role and value in AI progress. B.To show its difference from the Challenge.
C.To warn of concerns the Challenge may face. D.To show its use in interspecies communication.
33.Which research would Birch approve of to win the prize?
A.People communicating with their pets. B.People directing sheepdogs during work.
C.Researchers recording how cattle communicate. D.Researchers interacting with birds using whistles.
34.What does the “move the dial” mean in the last paragraph?
A.Make a change. B.Win the prize.
C.Slow the process. D.Continue the research.
35.What’s the author’s attitude toward the practical effect of the research?
A.Optimistic. B.Doubtful. C.Objective. D.Dismissive.

Ways to Boost Your Self-Control
Contrary to popular belief, self-control does not come along by denying yourself something or being “strict” with yourself. It is about loving yourself and developing new habits. 36 This is how you get there:
Set clear goals so when it comes down to it, you can think first, act later. When you have knowledge that a greater reward is at stake (得失难料), you are going to have an easier time letting go of immediate satisfaction. Prioritize your list according to what you want to achieve in the future. 37
Motivate yourself to win and remember that life doesn’t happen to you, it happens for you. Anxiety arises from the belief that you are not in control of your life circumstances but are a victim of them. 38 That will set the stage for you to regain your power and access your inner motivation to win and achieve.
Know your triggers (诱因) and control the stress response. Certain situations, people or even foods will cause your stress response to be triggered. Your job is to pay attention. 39 It could be sleep deprivation, or it could be a tendency to feel overly criticized by your boss. By knowing your triggers, you can either avoid them or develop ways to deal with them.
40 Either enlist friends or family members to join you or ask for their support to remind you of your long-term goals. The key here is that no one is allowed to criticize you or cause you to feel guilt or shame. Instead, they are to remind you to love yourself and help you get back on track when you slip up.
A.Get some reliable partners.
B.Who and what causes you to feel emotional?
C.You should think twice to avoid possible mistakes.
D.Change your mindset to being a victor of your life.
E.It will help you follow your heart and improve your performance.
F.In other words, it is a positive effort, not one of denial or negativity.
G.When following this process, you will think twice before acting on a sudden urge.

Emerging evidence in humans suggests a 56 (typical) Western high-fat, high-sugar junk food diet can quickly weaken your brain's appetite control.
After offering volunteers a week-long binge (大吃大喝) of waffles, milkshakes and similarly rich foods, researchers in Australia found young and healthy ones scored worse on memory tests and experienced a 57 (great) desire to eat junk food, even when they were already full.
The findings suggest something is special in the hippocampus (海马体)-a region of the brain 58 supports memory and helps to regulate appetite. When we are full, the hippocampus is thought to quieten down our memories of delicious food, thereby 59 (reduce) our appetite. When it’s interrupted, 60 control can be seriously damaged. Over the years, extensive research on 61 (mouse) has found the function of the hippocampus is very sensitive to junk food, but recently this has been observed only in young and healthy humans.
In 2017, after a week of Western-style breakfasts of 62 (toast) sandwiches and milkshakes, researchers found participants performed worse on learning and memory tests which are typically dependent 63 the hippocampus.
Now, in this latest study the scientists of the team 64 (find) that not only do such high-fat, high-sugar diets impair memory in humans, but they appear to directly affect our ability 65 (control) our appetite.

The annual School English Festival was coming, and our class decided to perform a short play. Li Hua, a quiet and hard-working girl, was unexpectedly chosen to play the lead role. Although she knew her lines well, the idea of performing in front of the whole school made her increasingly nervous.
Wang Lin, Li Hua’s desk mate and a naturally confident girl, had a supporting role. She noticed Li Hua’s growing anxiety. During breaks, while others chatted happily, Li Hua would sit alone, nervously reviewing her script.
On the day of the final rehearsal (排练), something unexpected happened. When delivering her most important line, Li Hua’s mind went completely blank. A few students giggled (咯咯笑). Li Hua’s face turned red with embarrassment, and she wished she could disappear. The teacher called for a short break.
Upset, Li Hua rushed into the empty hallway, tears in her eyes. She thought about quitting. As she took out her phone to message her mom, a friendly voice interrupted her. “Don’t worry, everyone forgets lines sometimes,” said Wang Lin with a warm smile. “The most important thing is to enjoy ourselves and tell the story well.” She then spent the next fifteen minutes practicing the lines with Li Hua, suggesting breathing techniques and encouraging her to put more emotion into her performance. She even shared her own experience of stage fright, which made Li feel much better.
On the night of the performance, the school hall was packed. As the opening music began, Li Hua stood behind the curtain, her heart pounding. She took a deep breath and glanced at Wang Lin, who gave her a reassuring smile and a thumbs-up.

When it comes to choosing between preserving farmland and developing urban areas, people hold conflicting views. From my perspective, we should prioritize farmland protection.
Firstly, farmland is the foundation of food security, guaranteeing a stable supply of grains and vegetables for a region. Once it is permanently lost, we may face the risk of food shortages. Secondly, farmland plays a vital role in ecological balance, as it can absorb carbon dioxide and reduce urban heat-island effect. Admittedly, urban development fuels economic growth and creates more job opportunities. However, we can explore sustainable urban expansion modes, such as redeveloping unused land.
In conclusion, safeguarding farmland is more crucial for long-term well-being.
Taking a deep breath, Li Hua walked onto the bright stage. The spotlight shone directly on her, and for a moment, she felt her nervousness returning. But then she remembered Wang Lin’s advice about enjoying the moment and connecting with the audience. She saw the friendly faces in the crowd and began to speak her lines clearly and confidently. She poured all her emotions into the character, forgetting about her fears. When she finished her final line, the entire audience burst into warm applause. The loudest cheer seemed to come from Wang Lin, who was watching proudly from the side of the stage.
After the successful performance, Li Hua found Wang Lin backstage. She was among the cheering crowd, surrounded by the classmates, all laughing and celebrating. Li Hua quickly made her way through the group and gave Wang Lin a tight hug. “Thank you so much, I truly couldn’t have done it without your help and encouragement,” Li Hua said, her voice filled with emotion. Wang Lin smiled warmly and replied, “Of course, you could. You just needed to believe in yourself a bit more.” In that heartfelt moment, Li Hua deeply understood that real friendship is about offering support and kindness when it’s needed most. Their shared experience had made their bond stronger than ever.

Frequently Asked Questions for Yellowstone National Park
How much is the entrance fee?
$85-Private, non-commercial vehicle; $30-Motorcycle or snowmobile (winter);

I realized my constant exhaustion, sleepless nights, and inability to concentrate were obvious 47 that my tireless pursuit of strength had backfired. I fell apart but 48 to find a way out.
Cautiously, I 49 myself to reveal bits of my struggles to a few close friends, watching closely for reactions. But to my great 50 , they listened without judgment and respected my boundaries and coping process. They helped me see there was no 51 in seeking help, and that even the strongest need support. 52 , I opened up fully to them and 53 myself back together.
To anyone 54 the weight of constant strength, hear this: True strength isn't about never showing weakness. It's about having the 55 to acknowledge our limits, reaching out for support, and seek a new path forward.

This book first gives some details about my life’s challenges. I was abandoned at birth in Cambodia, but then my life changed completely after being adopted by a lovely, generous family in Singapore when I was five. There, I met a lot of people who helped improve my life, including my wife. She brings me strength and happiness every day. I am grateful for everything I’ve been through and all the lessons I’ve had. Now over 20,000 copies of the book have been sold, and that makes me feel so honored. To express this thankfulness, I will donate fifty percent of my book’s profits to a children’s home in Cambodia. I want to share this wealth with kids worldwide who are suffering from a lack of food, education or opportunity. Lastly, I’d like to send this message to all those facing hard times. There are people out there who care about you, and if you believe in yourself and others, life will always take you to a brighter place. Don’t stop believing.

Frequently Asked Questions for Yellowstone National Park
How much is the entrance fee?
$85-Private, non-commercial vehicle; $30-Motorcycle or snowmobile (winter);
【答案】21.B 22.C 23.A
How much is the entrance fee?
根据划线句及后文“In years past it was more “economical” to visit most of the park. Now it is more restricted unless you can afford a snow-coach or guided snowmobile tour.(在过去的几年里,参观公园的大部分地方更为“经济”。现在的限制更多了,除非你能负担得起雪上马车或有导游的雪上摩托之旅)”可知,上下文描述了过去和现在的情况,现在冬天去参观的费用是很高的。由此推知,划线的句子表明,就费用而言,冬天曾经是参观公园的最佳时间。故选C项。
23.细节理解题。根据Can I get Cell and Wi-Fi?部分中“Free public Wi-Fi is available at Albright Visitor Center and at some park lodges for registered guests. Cell service is extremely limited, with reception only available in or near major developed areas. In summer, service often reaches its limit in these areas. (阿尔布赖特游客中心和部分公园小屋为已登记的客人提供免费公共Wi-Fi。手机服务非常有限,只有在主要开发地区或附近才能接收到信号。在夏季,这些地区的服务常常达到极限)”可知,公园里的无线信号差强人意。故选A项。
B

根据第三段中克里克尔先生的话“Now, boys, this is a new half. Take care what you’re about, in this new half. Come fresh up to the lessons, I advise you, for I come fresh up to the punishment. I won’t flinch (退缩). It will be of no use your rubbing yourselves; you won’t rub the marks out that I shall give you. Now get to work, every boy! (现在,孩子们,这是一个新的学期。在这个新的学期里,你们要小心自己的行为。我建议你们,好好学习,因为我会严厉惩罚你们。我不会退缩的。你们擦自己也没用;我给你们留下的印记,你们是擦不掉的。现在开始工作,每个孩子!)”可知,克里克尔先生对男孩们的讲话主要强调了他严格管教学生的意图。故选C项。
25.细节理解题。根据第四段“When this dreadful speech was over, Mr. (当这场可怕的演讲结束时,克里克尔先生走到我坐的地方,告诉我如果我以咬人出名,他也是以咬人出名的。然后他给我看了那根藤条,问我对于那颗“牙”有什么看法?那是不是一颗锋利的牙?是不是一颗双牙?它有没有一个深深的尖刺?它咬人吗?它咬人吗?每问一个问题,他就用那根藤条狠狠地打我一下,让我扭动身体,我很快就哭了。)”以及第五段“Not that I mean to say these were special marks of distinction, which only I received.
根据倒数第七段中“These orders I obeyed, in such a flutter and hurry of my young spirits as I had never known before, and when I got to the parlour (会客室) door, and the thought came into my head that it might be my mother — I had only thought of Mr. or Miss Murdstone until then — I drew back my hand from the lock, and stopped to have a sob before I went in.
C

根据第一段中“Plastic has become an essential part of modern life, with around 1 million plastic water bottles sold every minute and 5 trillion plastic bags used worldwide every year, according to the UN’s Environment Program. Half of all plastic production is designed for single-use purposes, and the annual output of over 400 million tons is projected to reach 1,100 million tons by 2050.( 塑料已经成为现代生活的重要组成部分,根据联合国环境规划署的数据,全球每分钟售出约100万个塑料水瓶,每年使用5万亿个塑料袋。
根据第三段中“One common method, pyrolysis, involves heating plastic waste to produce oil and synthetic gas, which powers recycling plants. However, the process releases harmful substances, raising concerns about its environmental impact. Critics argue that, rather than achieving a reduction in carbon emissions(排放), this method might result in similar or even higher levels of emissions compared to the production of new plastic.( 一种常见的方法是热解,它将塑料垃圾加热,产生石油和合成气,为回收厂提供动力。然而,该过程会释放有害物质,引起人们对其环境影响的担忧。批评人士认为,与生产新塑料相比,这种方法非但没有减少碳排放,反而可能导致类似甚至更高的排放水平。)”可知,先进的回收会受到批评是因为它有更高碳排放的风险。故选D项。
30.推理判断题。根据第四段中“For instance, Mura Technology in the UK claims its hydrothermal process produces more output with lower carbon emissions, while Australia’s Samsara Eco is developing enzyme-based methods that remove the need for new oil. These advancements could make recycling more efficient and environmentally friendly, helping to keep plastic in use rather than in landfills(填埋场).( 例如,英国的Mura Technology公司声称其热液工艺可以在低碳排放的情况下产生更多的产量,而澳大利亚的Samsara Eco公司正在开发基于酶的方法,从而消除了对新石油的需求。这些进步可以使回收更加有效和环保,有助于保持塑料的使用而不是填埋。)”可推断,先进回收的创新为绿色回收带来希望。故选C项。
31.推理判断题。根据第三段中“One common method, pyrolysis, involves heating plastic waste to produce oil and synthetic gas, which powers recycling plants. However, the process releases harmful substances, raising concerns about its environmental impact.( 一种常见的方法是热解,它将塑料垃圾加热,产生石油和合成气,为回收厂提供动力。然而,该过程会释放有害物质,引起人们对其环境影响的担忧。)”以及最后一段“While the debate around advanced recycling continues, progress is underway. Britain recently approved a version of the mass-balance approach, and many EU member states are leaning towards acceptance. With further innovation and investment, advanced recycling could help address the global plastic waste crisis.( 虽然关于先进回收的争论仍在继续,但进展正在进行中。英国最近批准了一种质量平衡方法,许多欧盟成员国也倾向于接受这种方法。通过进一步的创新和投资,先进的回收可以帮助解决全球塑料废物危机。)”可知,作者先客观说明先进回收技术的争议——提及热解技术的环保问题与批评声音;再客观呈现其潜力——介绍创新技术的优势;最后提及该技术的发展进展与未来可能。全文既不盲目肯定也不彻底否定,而是全面呈现不同角度,体现“客观中立”的态度。故选B项。

根据第二段中的“The Coller Dolittle Challenge financed by Jeremy Coller, a vegan and animal lover, is unashamedly modelled on the Turing test (图灵测试). That 20th-century test promotes efforts to design a machine capable of imitating human conversation, and became a touchstone in the evolution of AI. It also became a focus for concerns about machines tricking, even taking over, humans. The ability to commune with other species is likely to raise similar, unsettling questions as research progresses.
根据第三段“Philosopher Jonathan Birch, also a judge of the Jeremy Coller Centre, stressed that the Challenge is looking beyond the interspecies communication we have with pets, or that a farmer has with a sheepdog. Those relationships involve signalling and behavioural responses, Birch explains, “but that’s not telling us how animals communicate with each other... this prize is about understanding it so well that we can start to join the conversation.”(哲学家乔纳森·伯奇同时也是杰里米·科勒中心的评委,他强调,该挑战关注的跨物种交流,远不止我们与宠物之间、或是农民与牧羊犬之间的那种交流。伯奇解释道:“那些关系涉及信号传递和行为反应,但这并不能让我们了解动物之间是如何交流的……这个奖项的目的,是要充分理解动物间的交流方式,从而让我们能够参与到这种交流之中。”)”可知,伯奇认可的获奖研究应是能让人类参与到动物交流中的研究,“研究人员用口哨与鸟类互动”符合“参与交流”的特点。故选D项。
34.词句猜测题。根据最后一段中的“While Coller hopes his charity will reshape our attitude to animals, the truth is that even groundbreaking research has largely failed to move the dial on their welfare. Recent work on cephalopod’s intelligence has not stopped plans to farm the creatures.(虽然科勒希望他的慈善项目能改变我们对动物的态度,但事实是,即使是突破性的研究,在很大程度上也未能move the dial动物的福利状况。最近关于头足类动物智力的研究,也未能阻止养殖这类动物的计划)”可知,“头足类动物智力研究未能阻止其养殖计划”是对“未能move the dial on their welfare”的举例说明,由此可推测“move the dial”意为“产生改变、带来影响”。故选A项。
根据最后一段中的“While Coller hopes his charity will reshape our attitude to animals, the truth is that even groundbreaking research has largely failed to move the dial on their welfare. Recent work on cephalopod’s (头足类动物) intelligence has not stopped plans to farm the creatures. We might one day be able to understand what animals are saying — but there is no guarantee we will listen.
