These days, many people fall in love with the “city walk” around China. The city walk is a kind of city travel coming from the UK. It means travelers follow a planned route (计划路线) and focus on the city’s history and culture. During the old kind of travel, people usually go out in groups. But the city walk is special for every traveller. They can choose a route on their own and move on foot. They can also talk with local (当地的) people and taste local food on their way.
City walkers may be travelers from other places or local young people. For travelers, by joining in a city walk, they can learn the city’s history and culture. For local young people, they may spend weekends knowing more about their living places. And they even share their routes online so that more people will get interested in their cities and come to visit them.
Now the city walk is very hot. However, we also find that, to make money, some travel agencies (旅行社) make some routes without understanding(理解) the history and culture of a city. That will make travelers lose interest in the city walk.
