The 2025 WTT China Grand Slam was their first mixed doubles game in this event, and they won the championship. This showed their strong ability.
Before the game, many people were worried, because they did not have special mixed doubles training for a long time. Also, Wang Chuqin had to play three games at the same time. But they found their rhythm quickly in each match. Sun Yingsha said: “Our 8-year partnership is a good foundation. We talk and change our play ways on the court in time. Wang Chuqin said: “We have the same goal and use our play ways well. That’s why we win.”
This is their 5th WTT Grand Slam mixed doubles title. After the Paris Olympic Games, they don’t train together every day. But they always win when they team up. I was 13 years old. My family moved from North Florida to Southern California a year before. I was angry and stubborn because I couldn’t get used to this big change. Like many teenagers, I tried to stay away from things that didn’t fit my idea of the world. I thought I was “good without needing help” and refused any love from others.
One night, after a really hard day, I ran into my room, closed the door and lay on the bed. My hands touched an envelope under my pillow. I took it out. On the envelope, it said, “To read when you’re alone.” I opened it. It was from Mom: “Mike, I know life is hard now, you’re upset, and we don’t do everything right. But I love you completely, and nothing you do or say will change that. I am here for you, and I love you forever. Love, Mom.” This was the first of many such letters.
Now I travel around the world to help people. In Florida, a woman told me she had trouble with her son. I told her about my mom’s endless love and the “To read when you’re alone” letters. Weeks later, she sent me a card saying she wrote her first letter for her son. Now, when life is hard, I remember those letters. They reminded me I was loved even with my mistakes. Unconditional love changed my life.
28. Why was the author angry and stubborn?
A. He didn’t like his new school. B. He didn’t get along well with his parents.
C. He wanted to escape from his parents’ control. D. He struggled to fit in with his new environment.
29. What do we know about the letter found under the pillow?
A. It was written by the author’s friend. B. It showed mom’s love and understanding.
C. It focused on the author’s school life. D. It advised the author to move back to Florida.
30. What inspired the lady in Florida to write a letter to her son?
A. The author’s sharing of his mother’s action. B. The author’s poor performance at school.
C. The author’s rich teaching experience. D. The author’s difficult experience.
31. Which can be a suitable title for the text?
A. Teenage Trouble: Growing Pains. B. Mom’s Love Letters: My Secret Comfort.
C. Helping Others: A Journey of Kindness. D. Parental Guidance: My Inner Strength Source.
D
Every year, wildfires happen in California, USA, harming people and the environment a lot. These fires usually start because of dry weather, strong winds, and human activities like careless campfires or thrown cigarette butts (烟蒂). In recent years, California wildfires have happened more often and become worse. Some fires burn many acres of forests and destroy hundreds of homes.
The harm of wildfires is very serious. Thick smoke makes the air bad, so people find it hard to breathe and may have health problems like coughs and asthma (哮喘). Many animals lose their homes or even die. Fires also damage farmlands and public places like roads and bridges, affecting people’s daily lives and local economies. What’s worse, wildfires send much carbon dioxide (二氧化碳) into the air, making global warming more serious.
However, we can prevent or lessen these disasters if everyone works together. Governments should take better care of forests, like cleaning up dry leaves and dead trees that catch fire easily. They should also build more fire observation towers and improve early warning ways to find fires quickly. For people, we must not do dangerous things: never leave campfires alone, put out cigarettes completely, and don’t burn rubbish in forests. Schools and communities should teach people about fire safety and hold drills (演练) to help everyone act fast.
As the Earth gets warmer, wildfires and other natural disasters are more common. Preventing them is not just governments’ or firefighters’ job — everyone has a part to play. Small daily actions and making more people know how to prevent disasters can help protect our planet and reduce disaster risks.
32. Which of the following is NOT a cause of California wildfires mentioned in the passage?
A. Earthquakes. B. Dry weather C. Strong winds. D. Careless human activities.
33. What can we infer from the second paragraph?
A. Wildfires only harm animals and plants.
B. Wildfires have no effect on the climate.
C. The smoke from wildfires is bad for health.
D. Wildfires help improve farmland quality.
34. What does the underlined word “lessen” probably mean in the third paragraph?
A. Worsen. B. Reduce. C. Ignore. D. Cause.
35. What is the author’s attitude towards preventing natural disasters?
A. Positive. B. Negative. C. Doubtful. D. Unconcerned.

第二节(满分25分)
【67题答案】
【答案】范文:
Mr. Frank’s kind words touched me deeply. I decided to try his advice. I drew pictures for English poems and designed cartoon characters for grammar rules. English soon became a joy, not a burden. I even volunteered to share my drawing-based notes in class, which helped my classmates understand grammar rules better.
As time went on, I not only fell in love with English but also made good friends. My classmates loved my creative learning methods and often joined me to discuss English stories. They never laughed at my size; instead, they admired my drawings and kindness. We studied together after school and played games on weekends. Little by little, I grew more confident, feeling truly at home in this new city.
