But hundreds of beaches in Greece now offer a new solution called Seatrac, which allows people in wheelchairs to get into the water on their own. Seatrac is basically a chair on a moving walkway that can smoothly (平稳地) carry a disabled person into the sea. Once in the sea, the person can either remain in the chair, enjoying the water, or go for a swim. The chair can be controlled from a long distance (距离). When the person is ready to get out of the water, the Seatrac system (系统) brings the chair back to the top of the walkway. Seatrac was invented and developed in Greece. The idea for it came when one of the inventors, Fotiou, was talking with a friend who used a wheelchair. The friend expressed his enjoyment of the sea but disliked being carried into the ocean like “a bag of potatoes”. Fotiou realized there must be a way to make it easier for wheelchair users to get into the water. He worked with his partners to design the system, finally forming a company called TOBEA to build and sell the system. TOBEA works on making the system simple to put in place and easy to control. A wooden walkway allows wheelchair users to reach Seatrac. The system is solar-powered (太阳能的) and can continue to run even if the electricity goes out. The Seatrac system can be easily packed up and stored when the swimming season ends. Greece has decided to open 287 beaches for people with disabilities. 140 beaches have set up the system and the remaining 147 will build the system in the future. The new Seatrac service is being provided for free to help attract more tourists to the country. TOBEA will offer a website showing where beaches with the special service can be found. Thanks to Seatrac, more and more people who use wheelchairs will have the chance to cool down with a swim in the sea. 4. What does paragraph 2 mainly talk about? A. Why Seatrac is well received. B. How Seatrac is developed. C. Why Seatrac needs hand control. D. How Seatrac works. 5. What can we know about the Seatrac system? A. It’s expensive to use. B. It can be used all year round. C. It’s environmentally friendly. D. It requires a large storage space. 6. What does the underlined word in the last paragraph mean? A. rest B. bad C. useful D. good 7. What can be the best title for the text? A. Fotiou: an Inventor Helping the Disabled B. Seatrac: Helping Wheelchair Users Enjoy the Sea C. TOBEA Is a Famous Factory Producing Wheelchairs D. Greece Has Built Moving Walkways for the Disabled 【答案】4. D 5. C 6. A 7. 根据第二段“Seatrac is basically a chair on a moving walkway that can smoothly carry a disabled person into the sea. Once in the sea, the person can either remain in the chair, enjoying the water, or go for a swim. The chair can be controlled from a long distance. When the person is ready to get out of the water, the Seatrac system brings the chair back to the top of the walkway. (Seatrac基本上是一个在移动人行道上的椅子,可以平稳地将残疾人带入海中。一旦进入海中,人们可以坐在椅子上享受海水,或者去游泳。椅子可以从远处控制。当人们准备离开水面时,Seatrac系统会将椅子带回人行道的顶部。)”可知,第二段主要介绍了Seatrac的工作原理,即如何帮助残疾人进入和离开海水。故选D项。 【5题详解】 推理判断题。根据第四段“The system is solar-powered and can continue to run even if the electricity goes out. (该系统是太阳能驱动的,即使停电也能继续运行。)”可知,Seatrac系统是太阳能驱动的,对环境友好。故选C项。 【6题详解】 词句猜测题。根据最后一段“Greece has decided to open 287 beaches for people with disabilities. 140 beaches have set up the system and the remaining 147 will build the system in the future.  (希腊决定开放287个海滩供残障人士使用。其中140个海滩已建立该系统,remaining147个海滩将在未来建立该系统。)”可知,共有287个海滩供残障人士使用,其中140个海滩已建立该系统,而剩余的147个在未来建立,故推知划线词为“其余,剩余”的意思,和rest同义。故选A项。 通读全文,尤其是第一段“But hundreds of beaches in Greece now offer a new solution called Seatrac, which allows people in wheelchairs to get into the water on their own. (但希腊的数百个海滩现在提供了一种名为Seatrac的新解决方案,它可以让坐轮椅的人自己下水。)”可知,文章主要介绍了希腊发明的一种名为Seatrac的新系统,该系统可以帮助使用轮椅的人自行进入海中,享受海滩和游泳的乐趣,因此,B项“Seatrac:帮助轮椅使用者享受大海”最符合文章主旨,适合作为文章标题。故选B项。 C In China, tea has become an important part of everyday life for thousands of years. As the tea-processing methods and tea culture have evolved over the years, tea sets have also changed to meet the practical and cultural needs. During the Tang Dynasty(618~907AD), tea leaves were traded across the country and Asia. For the convenience of transportation and storage, tea leaves were pressed into bricks. To prepare tea, drinkers had to cut them into small pieces and boil them in heat-resistant teapots. By the Song Dynasty(960-1279), drinkers started to turn the hard bricks into powders (粉末) that could be whipped (搅打) in a cup with boiled water. This whipped tea is most commonly associated with Japanese tea ceremonies today. By the 1500s, tea bricks gave way to the form of rolled leaves. This innovation led to the invention and use of teapots as we know them today. These teapots originally came from the Yi Xing region of China and were soon copied throughout the world. Then Japanese teapot-makers moved the handle from the side to the top of the teapots. Tea finally reached Europe in the 1600s, along with the necessary tea sets made in Japan and China. As English teapot-makers began to adapt the tea sets to their country men’s tastes, they eventually added a handle to the tea bowl because of the English habit of drinking hot black tea, which was consumed at higher temperatures. The size of teacups also grew to accommodate milk and sugar in their tea. By the early 1900s, innovations in tea drinking became an American affair. The most revolutionary one was the tea bag, which was accidentally commercialized by Thomas Sullivan. He had been sending customers tea wrapped in silk bags. Rather than take the leaves out of the bags, as Sullivan intended, the customers put the bags into their teapots instead. Not only did the tea bags push the teapot back to the sidelines of tea service, they were also too large for teacups and led to the modern practice of drinking tea from mugs. 8 Which was used to make the whipped tea in Japan? A. Rolled tea leaves. B. Freshly picked tea leaves. C. Powdered tea leaves. D. Loosely pressed tea leaves. 9. Which innovation was first introduced by the British? A. Tea bags and mugs. B. Tea bowls with handles. C. Heat-resistant teapots. D. Teapots with top handles. 10. What can we learn from Thomas Sullivan’s story? A. Customers are very creative. B. Innovations are relatively easy. C. Marketing strategy is critical. D. Good ideas can be born by accident. 11. What is the best title for the text? A. The Development of Tea Sets B. Varieties of Tea Leaves C. Various Tea-making Methods D. The Spread of Tea Trades 【答案】8. C 9. B 10. D 11. 根据文章三段“By the Song Dynasty(960-1279), drinkers started to turn the hard bricks into powders (粉末) that could be whipped (搅打) in a cup with boiled water. This whipped tea is most commonly associated with Japanese tea ceremonies today. (到了宋朝(960-1279),饮茶者开始把这种坚硬的砖块变成粉末,可以在一个杯子里用开水搅拌。这种搅打过的茶在今天的日本茶道中最常见。)”可知,日本点茶用的是茶的粉末。故选C。 【9题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第五段“As English teapot-makers began to adapt the tea sets to their country men’s tastes, they eventually added a handle to the tea bowl because of the English habit of drinking hot black tea, which was consumed at higher temperatures. (随着英国的茶具制造商开始根据英国人的口味调整茶具,他们最终在茶碗上加了一个把手,因为英国人习惯喝热红茶,这种茶要在较高的温度下饮用。)”可知,带有把手的茶碗是英国人最先提出的创新。故选B。 【10题详解】 推理判断题。根据文章最后一段“The most revolutionary one was the tea bag, which was accidentally commercialized by Thomas Sullivan. (最具革命性的是茶包,它被托马斯·沙利文意外地商业化了。)”可推断,有的创意是偶然的。故选D。 【11题详解】 主旨大意题。根据文章第一段“As the tea-processing methods and tea culture have evolved over the years, tea sets have also changed to meet the practical and cultural needs. (随着多年来茶叶加工方法和茶文化的发展,茶具也发生了变化,以满足实用和文化的需要。)”以及全文内容可知,本文主要是讲茶具的衍变,A项“茶具的发展”适合作文章标题。故选A。 D There are various ways in which to read body language so that you can understand how someone is feeling. Embarrassment can be expressed by turning the eyes or shifting them away. If someone looks down at the floor a lot, they are probably shy, afraid, or embarrassed. People also tend to look down when they are upset, or trying to hide something emotional. People are often thinking and feeling unpleasant emotions when they are in the process of staring at the ground. There are also some signs of pride. My friend Doris and I had a week-long tour there and believed we could explore this town alone then. After breakfast, we confidently started the trip. After a full day of exciting exploration, the sky turned from clear blue to gray, with dark clouds gathering. As we walked along the ancient street to our hotel, raindrops began falling. Everyone around us took cover. “Should we take a taxi?” I asked aloud, the rain being so loud that I had to raise my voice. “It’s only a ten-minute walk, and let’s go much faster,” Doris shouted back. As the rain and wind increased, we quickened our pace. The ancient street was soon covered with deep water that quickly made our shoes totally wet. Suddenly, the big thunder sounded! Dusk had turned into total darkness, which was only interrupted by the sudden lightning from the sky. Finally, we realized we had been walking for a much longer time than it should have taken us to reach the hotel. We had taken a wrong turn somewhere. We were lost! What’s worse, both of our cell phones were powered off, so we couldn’t call for help, and the street was empty. Shocked, we headed back down the street, wishing to find the right direction. It was still raining cats and dogs. Our clothes and bags were completely wet. Later looking out into the darkness through the shrubs (灌木) along the street, we realized we had come to a residential neighborhood. “Let’s just wait for a minute,” Doris said. As we stood under a tree, some headlights appeared. A car pulled up just about a few meters away by the street. Soon, a woman got out of the car. Then, I walked towards the woman with hope. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I found her explanation of directions only confused us, however hard she tried. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Then I walked towards the woman with hope. When I was close to her, she turned back and was shocked to see me. I apologized and told her our problem.“Can you give us some directions? That is my friend, ” I added, pointing to Doris, who was still under the tree. The woman nodded friendly, wearing a gentle smile. She seemed to relax as she inspected us and asked where we were trying to go. And then she attempted to show us directions in broken English. I found her explanation of directions only confused us, however hard she tried. Then, the woman said, “Get in my car and I’ll take you back.” “That’s really nice of you, but we don’t want to get your seats wet, ” we responded, pointing to our wet clothes and bags. But she insisted. We were so tired that we finally went inside, hoping to get back as soon as possible. To our excitement, we soon reached our hotel. When we offered her some money in reward for her kindness, she just refused to take and wished us a good night. Waving goodbye to her, we witnessed her disappearing in the darkness. Although we were cold, our hearts were filled with warmth. 3.词汇激活 行为类 ①靠近:be close to /approach ②检查,打量:inspect /look over ③坚持:insist /persevere 情绪类: ①疲惫的:tired /exhausted ②兴奋:excitement /thrill 【点睛】【高分句型 1】When we offered her some money in reward for her kindness, she just refused to take and wished us a good night.(运用when引导的时间状语从句) 【高分句型 2】That is my friend, ” I added, pointing to Doris, who was still under the tree.(运用 了who引导的非限制性定语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 英吉沙实验中学2025-2026学年上学期 高二质量检测英语试卷 注意事项: 1. 1. Greece Has Built Moving Walkways for the Disabled C In China, tea has become an important part of everyday life for thousands of years. 8. Which was used to make the whipped tea in Japan? The Spread of Tea Trades D There are various ways in which to read body language so that you can understand how someone is feeling. Reading emotional clues (线索)is one of them. Crying is considered to be caused by an explosion of emotion in most cultures. Often times crying is considered a sign of sadness, but crying can also be an expression of happiness. Crying can also come about through laughter and humor. Thus, when judging crying, you'll need to look for other signs to determine the meaning of the crying. Crying can also be forced in order to gain sympathy or to cheat others. This practice is known as " crocodile tears" , an expression that draws on the wrong idea that crocodiles" cry" when catching prey(猎物). Signs of threat include v-shaped eye brows, wide eyes, and an open or down-turned mouth. In a similar way, arm tightly crossed over the other is a common sign that the person is angry and is closing himself off to you. When people show anxiety, they display increased facial movements, and their mouth made into a thin line. Individuals who are anxious may also play with their hands, unable keep them in one spot. Anxiety can also or have nervous legs. It can be conveyed when people seemingly unconsciously(无意识 地)tap their feet or have nervous legs. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
