With its typical red crest and face, as well as a long black mouth and snow-white feathers, the crested ibis is known as the “Oriental Gem” in China. They were once widespread in East Asia and Siberia until the 20th century when hunting, ecological damage, and increased human activities drove the birds to near extinction. In 1981, the entire species around the world was down to the seven crested ibises which were found only in Yangxian County, northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, and deep in the Qinling Mountains, making Qinling, a natural boundary between China’s north and south, the “Noah’s Ark (诺亚方舟) ” of the wild bird. Since 1981, the local government of Yangxian County has put forward four bans for the protection of the species, prohibiting activities including hunting in the birds' living areas, cutting down trees where they nest, using chemicals in their food-finding areas, and firing guns in their breeding (繁殖) areas. The Chinese government arranged special funds to protect the habitat of crested ibises, sealing off mountains to plant trees in the birds’ living areas. China started the artificial breeding of crested ibises in 1991 and has bred more than 400 birds in Shaanxi. Years of constant effort have brought promising results. It is estimated that there are more than 5,000 crested ibises in the world now, and about half of them live in Shaanxi. The bird’s habitat in China has risen from less than five square kilometres in 1981 to the current 15,000 km². “It is lucky that the crested ibis, an ancient bird, is still flying around,” said Zan Linsen, head of the Shaanxi Academy of Forestry. “The conservation story of crested ibises not only shows us the power of ancient life but also the necessity and urgency of ecological environment protection.” 4. Why are the Qinling Mountains so important for crested ibises? A. They used to be the last habitat of crested ibises. B. They are where crested ibises were first found. C. They protect crested ibises from natural enemies. D. They are the only breeding area of crested ibises. 5. What can we conclude from the fourth paragraph? A. It's legal to own hunting guns in Yangxian County. B. Crested ibises are unlikely to be bred artificially. C. The government plays a key role in saving crested ibises. D. Hunting has been the biggest threat to crested ibises. 6. How does Zan Linsen feel about the conservation of crested ibises? A. Proud and ambitious. B. Relieved and happy. C. Sorry and regretful. D. Shocked and curious. 7. Which could be a suitable title for the text? A. Artificial Breeding of Crested Ibises in China B. Rare Animals in China: Crested Ibises C. Crested Ibises Found Again in the Qinling Mountains D. Endangered Crested Ibises Making a Comeback 【答案】4. A 5. C 6. B 7. 根据第三段“In 1981, the entire species around the world was down to the seven crested ibises which were found only in Yangxian County, northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, and deep in the Qinling Mountains, making Qinling, a natural boundary between China’s north and south, the “Noah’s Ark (诺亚方舟) ” of the wild bird. (1981年,世界上的朱鹮只剩下7只,这些朱鹮只在中国西北陕西省阳县和秦岭山脉深处发现,使秦岭这个中国南北自然边界成为野鸟的“诺亚方舟”。)”可知,1981年,世界上的最后7 只朱鹮在秦岭地区被发现,这一地区是朱鹮的“诺亚方舟”,即最后的栖息地。故选A。 根据第四段“Since 1981, the local government of Yangxian County has put forward four bans for the protection of the species, prohibiting activities including hunting in the birds' living areas, cutting down trees where they nest, using chemicals in their food-finding areas, and firing guns in their breeding (繁殖) areas. The Chinese government arranged special funds to protect the habitat of crested ibises, sealing off mountains to plant trees in the birds’ living areas. China started the artificial breeding of crested ibises in 1991 and has bred more than 400 birds in Shaanxi. 根据最后一段““It is lucky that the crested ibis, an ancient bird, is still flying around,” said Zan Linsen, head of the Shaanxi Academy of Forestry. “The conservation story of crested ibises not only shows us the power of ancient life but also the necessity and urgency of ecological environment protection.” (陕西林业科学研究院院长昝林森说:“很幸运,朱鹮这种古老的鸟类现在还在飞来飞去。”“朱鹮的保护故事不仅向我们展示了古代生命的力量,也向我们展示了生态环境保护的必要性和紧迫性。”)”可知,他对朱鹮保护事业的成功感到欣慰和高兴。故选B。 【7题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是根据文章第一段中“From the world’s last seven to a global population of more than 5,000, China spent nearly 40 years bringing back crested ibises (朱鹮) from the edge of extinction. (从世界上最后的7只到全球5000多只,中国花了近40年的时间把朱鹮从灭绝的边缘救了回来。)”可知,本文主要讲述了濒危鸟类朱鹮在中国成功实现种群恢复的故事。故D项“Endangered Crested Ibises Making a Comeback (濒临灭绝的朱鹮卷土重来)”符合题意。故选D。 C Not many people know the fact but dyeing textiles (染色纺织品) are a huge factor in damaging both human health and the environment. Scientists in Australia may have discovered a way to solve this problem by making changes to the cotton plant’s genes in order for it to naturally produce various coloured cotton. These scientists have been exploring the concept of trying gene-editing in order to change the colour of natural fibers found in the cotton plant. So far, their experiment has produced coloured cotton in a petri dish (培养皿). Scientists hope that this means they can perfect the process in order to grow the crops in the fields. Often the agriculture and fuel industries are closely examined for their influences on the environment, but the textile industry is not to be overlooked and certainly has things to feel guilty about. The textile industry contributes 10% of global carbon emissions, largely due to the rise of fast fashion, which sees 80 to 100 billion items of clothes produced annually. This creates a large amount of physical waste and also contributes to other extremely detrimental effects on the environment. Cotton is quite the thirsty crop, needing 2,700 liters of water to create only one cotton T-shirt. That places extra stress in regions that do not have a steady water supply available. And, textile dyes frequently end up in natural water systems, darkening the water and disturbing the biochemical balance. Fortunately, people’s desire to protect the environment has been growing over time and more and more people are turning to more sustainable fashion choices. Larger brands have an eye on these trends and are also promising to try to develop more water-free dyeing technologies. 8. How may scientists in Australia solve the problem caused by dyeing textiles? A. By dyeing the cotton before it is collected. B. By discovering natural plant-based textile fibers. C. By transforming the dyes into eco-friendly ones. D. By changing the cotton’s genes. 9. What does the third paragraph intend to tell us? A. The rise of fast fashion is to blame for the environmental pollution. B. The environmental impact of the textile industry should be taken seriously. C. The clothing industry should be thoroughly examined. D. The carbon emissions from the textile industry are limited. 10. What does the underlined word “detrimental” in Paragraph 4 probably mean? A. Harmful. B. Short-term. C. Magical. D. Decisive. 11. What might contribute to the development of dyeing technologies? A. Clothing producers’ social responsibility. B. People’s consumption concepts. C. People’s awareness of environmental protection. D. Large brands’ desire to keep pace with fashion. 【答案】8 D 9. B 10. A 11. 根据第一段“Not many people know the fact but dyeing textiles (染色纺织品) are a huge factor in damaging both human health and the environment. Scientists in Australia may have discovered a way to solve this problem by making changes to the cotton plant’s genes in order for it to naturally produce various coloured cotton.(没有多少人知道这个事实,但对纺织品进行染色是损害人类健康和环境的一个巨大因素。澳大利亚的科学家们可能已经发现了一种解决这个问题的方法,通过改变棉花的基因,使其自然地生产出各种颜色的棉花)”可知,澳大利亚的一些科学家通过改变棉花的基因来解决纺织品染色带来的问题。故选D。 【9题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段“Often the agriculture and fuel industries are closely examined for their influences on the environment, but the textile industry is not to be overlooked and certainly has things to feel guilty about. The textile industry contributes 10% of global carbon emissions, largely due to the rise of fast fashion, which sees 80 to 100 billion items of clothes produced annually.(农业和燃料工业对环境的影响经常受到密切关注,但纺织工业也不容忽视,当然也有值得内疚的地方。纺织业占全球碳排放量的10%,这主要是由于快时尚的兴起,每年生产800亿至1000亿件衣服)”可推知,本段旨在说明纺织业对环境的影响应该引起重视。故选B。 【10题详解】 词句猜测题。根据划线词前的“This creates a large amount of physical waste and also contributes to other extremely(这造成了大量的物理废物,也有助于其他极端)”及下文“Cotton is quite the thirsty crop, needing 2,700 liters of water to create only one cotton T-shirt. That places extra stress in regions that do not have a steady water supply available. And, textile dyes frequently end up in natural water systems, darkening the water and disturbing the biochemical balance.(棉花是非常耗水的作物,生产一件棉质T恤需要2700升水。这给没有稳定供水的地区带来了额外的压力。而且,纺织染料经常进入自然水系,使水变暗,扰乱生物化学平衡)”可知,此处在介绍纺织工业对环境的不良影响。由此可知,划线词detrimental与harmful“有害的;不利的”意思一致。故选A。 根据最后一段“Fortunately, people’s desire to protect the environment has been growing over time and more and more people are turning to more sustainable fashion choices. Larger brands have an eye on these trends and are also promising to try to develop more water-free dyeing technologies.(幸运的是,随着时间的推移,人们保护环境的愿望越来越强烈,越来越多的人开始转向更可持续的时尚选择。较大的品牌也在关注这些趋势,并承诺尝试开发更多的无水染色技术)”可推知,正是人们环保意识的增强引发了这一系列的反应,从而促进了印染技术的发展。故选C。 D People have traditionally been hired based primarily on the degree they earned, the job they had, or the people they knew. Skills were not a big part of the conversation in the hiring, or in the economy overall. That’s changing. Workers better understand the need to articulate (清晰地表达) the skills they have and the skills they want. And businesses, eager to fill roles in this historically tight labour market, have started to focus on whether people have the skills to get the job done. Skills come first. We need to take advantage of this momentum (势头). Skills-first hiring needs to become the new way to connect talent to opportunity. The World Economic Forum estimates we’ll need to reskill over one billion people by 2030. Employees consider opportunities to learn and grow as the primary driver of great work culture, yet our data shows only 52% of employees feel their manager encourages the use of work time to learn new skills. This major disconnect will start to impact employers as the skills-economy continues to grow. By caring about employees’ careers, investing in their skills development, and helping them transform into new roles, companies benefit too. When leaders offer growth opportunities through internal mobility, they keep their employees nearly twice as long as their peers. A focus on upskilling needs employers to change their concept of business management. Everyone from the top down needs to understand how critical ongoing learning and upskilling is, not only from an employee’s growth perspective (角度), but also for maintaining a company’s competitive edge. The organizations that keep their employees on top of new technologies are the ones that will see success in this new world of work. Never in the history of the labour market has been a clear or reliable way to understand whether people and jobs are matched in the most efficient way. The labour market has worked from some, but skills can change that. By harnessing (利用) new data and tools that make it easy for people and companies to identify talent based on skills, along with the access to building more diversified and equitable networks, we have the ability to help fill the most in demand jobs based on what a candidate can do. This will not only create greater equity in our economy, but also greater dynamism. It will create new levels of progress and prosperity. 12. What does the text mainly discuss? A. A skills-first labour market is emerging. B. The skills needed for jobs have changed. C. There comes a marked shift in business demands. D. The labour market is becoming more competitive. 13. How can employers benefit from skill training according to the text? A. It helps improve the stability of the workforce. B. It develops employers’ decision-making ability. C. It is helpful in building excellent corporate culture. D It enhances employees’ sense of responsibility. 14. What is a requirement for upskilling? A. A network running on the principle of equity. B. A mentality shift at the management level. C. The cooperation between labour and management. D. A system that encourages self-improvement. 15. What is the purpose of the text? A. To introduce the development of the labour market. B. To share a unique view about the economy. C. To explain why the world of work needs to put skills first. D. To analyze the importance of skills to social progress. A 13. A 14. B 15. 综合全文,尤其是第一段的“Workers better understand the need to articulate (清晰地表达) the skills they have and the skills they want. And businesses, eager to fill roles in this historically tight labour market, have started to focus on whether people have the skills to get the job done. Skills come first. (工人们更好地理解了阐明他们拥有的技能和他们想要的技能的必要性。企业急于填补这个历来紧张的劳动力市场的空缺,已开始关注人们是否具备完成工作的技能。技能是第一位的)”可推知,一个技能优先的劳动力市场正在出现。故选A。 根据第三段的“When leaders offer growth opportunities through internal mobility, they keep their employees nearly twice as long as their peers. (当领导者通过内部流动提供成长机会时,他们留住员工的时间几乎是同行的两倍)”可知,在重视技术培训的企业里,员工稳定性更好。故选A。 根据第四段“A focus on upskilling needs employers to change their concept of business management. Everyone from the top down needs to understand how critical ongoing learning and upskilling is, not only from an employee’s growth perspective (角度), but also for maintaining a company’s competitive edge. The organizations that keep their employees on top of new technologies are the ones that will see success in this new world of work. How to Read Candidates’ Body Language in an Interview Body language matters, especially in interviews. ___16___ Our posture, gestures, movements or facial expressions can shape our reputations. Learning to read body language is about understanding candidates’ motives. Reading body language during interviews can provide valuable insights into a candidate’s personality. ___17___ Here are some common interview body language signals that you can learn to read. Observe extreme behaviour. A candidate’s harmless action doesn’t mean they won’t fit in well at your company. But be careful about extreme behaviours, like a person constantly checking their phone. ___18___ You can read people’s body language by observing changes in their movements or posture. Imagine, for example, that a candidate suddenly starts tapping their foot. Maybe they feel the interview is taking too long. Or perhaps they’re facing an uncomfortable question. Connect the dots. ___19___ For example, people may cross their arms when they’re cold. But, when you see a candidate crossing their arms, crossing their legs and balling their fists at the same time, prepare yourself for an aggressive (咄咄逼人的) answer. Candidate experience greatly depends on an interviewer’s body language. Positive body language can make candidates relax and open up. Negative body language can spark (引发) defensive and reserved reactions. ___20___ A. Spot the difference. B. Ask detailed questions. C. It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it. D. They don’t necessarily act the same way all the time. E. However, understanding body language isn’t an exact science. F. You can’t always tell what a specific gesture means on its own. G. Be aware of mistakes to preserve a positive candidate experience. C 17. E 18. A 19. F 20. how you say it呼应Body language matters。故选C项。 【17题详解】 根据上文“Reading body language during interviews can provide valuable insights into a candidate’s personality.”(通过阅读面试中的肢体语言,可以对求职者的性格有很有价值的了解。)以及下文“Here are some common interview body language signals that you can learn to read.”(以下是一些常见的面试肢体语言信号,你可以学习阅读。) 【18题详解】 根据下文“You can read people’s body language by observing changes in their movements or posture.”(你可以通过观察人们动作或姿势的变化来解读他们的肢体语言)可知,本段主要在说要发现不同点。 故选A项。 【19题详解】 根据下文“For example, people may cross their arms when they’re cold. But, when you see a candidate crossing their arms, crossing their legs and balling their fists at the same time, prepare yourself for an aggressive(咄咄逼人的) answer.”(例如,人们冷的时候可能会交叉双臂。 【20题详解】 根据上文“Positive body language can make candidates relax and open up. Negative body language can spark(引发)defensive and reserved reactions.”(积极的肢体语言可以让应试者放松并敞开心扉。 In Victoria, 33-year-old Brianna Hurst risked her own safety to save the lives of three drowning strangers. My good friend Anoush was a running enthusiast. So he advised me to lose weight by running. I didn’t agree at first until he promised to accompany me to run although he was busy with his work. Seven years later, I got more serious about running. And I dreamed to participate in Boston Marathon. Anoush encouraged me to realize my dream. He also said he enjoyed running too and wanted to attend the same marathon with me. Every day we spared our time to practise hard and did about 2 marathons a year, during which time Anoush gave me much professional guidance and encouragement. And then one day, both of us qualified for the 2017 Boston Marathon. We were excited but unfortunately, several weeks before the marathon, we had a serious quarrel. Even I swore never to talk with him in the future. The day came. Anoush and I stood at the starting line. He said, “Good luck! You will certainly finish the marathon.” Hearing his words, I looked at him, saying, “It’s none of your business.” Then we started running. I had strong mental confidence by using positive self-talk when running distances, which has helped me finish 18 marathons. Soon, I passed Anoush. But I struggled in the heat starting at mile 16. I felt most of my oxygen went to the muscle in my legs and less in my brain, which made me feel a bit lightheaded and fuzzy I continually encouraged myself. “Just get to the finish, run bold, and you will win,” all phrases that I say to myself didn’t work any more. Gradually I felt out of breath and had to slow down my pace. As I ran down the famous last stretch of the Boston Marathon on Boylston Street, I fell down on the ground with my legs moving like jello (果冻). Just then, I felt that someone picked me up. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When Anoush and I crossed the finish line, the audience at present applauded. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】例文 Just then, I felt that someone picked me up. Turning around, I found it was Anoush who helped me up. A wave of embarrassment swept over me and I was even at a loss at that moment. “Just stand up and go on to run. I will keep you company.” Anoush encouraged me with a big smile on his face. Looking into his faithful eyes. I realized that he was not cheating me and that he was really helping me. He just forgot the quarrel between us. I stood up and began to run with him. When Anoush and I crossed the finish line, the audience at present applauded. Without any preparation, I was hugged by Anoush tightly. Suddenly, I felt regretful to break up with him. Then, I gathered my courage to say sorry to Anoush. “Thank you and I am so sorry to you, my dear friend. I should not have quarreled with you.” “Just forget it. You know, we are good friends.” Anoush said. I felt more than happy and lucky to have such a friend in my life. Though quarrels between friends could not be avoided, as long as we have him/her in our mind, we would be good friends forever. 1】Turning around, I found it was Anoush who helped me up.(运用了现在分词作状语和强调句) 【高分句型 2】Looking into his faithful eyes, I realized that he was not cheating me and that he was really helping me.(运用了现在分词作状语和 that 引导的宾语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 山东省大联考高三英语试题 (试卷满分:150分,考试时间:120分钟) 注意事项: 1. How much is the shirt? B From the world’s last seven to a global population of more than 5,000, China spent nearly 40 years bringing back crested ibises (朱鹮) from the edge of extinction. Endangered Crested Ibises Making a Comeback C Not many people know the fact but dyeing textiles (染色纺织品) are a huge factor in damaging both human health and the environment. A Harmful. B. Short-term. C. Magical. D. Decisive. 11. What might contribute to the development of dyeing technologies? A. Clothing producers’ social responsibility. B. People’s consumption concepts. C. People’s awareness of environmental protection. D. Large brands’ desire to keep pace with fashion. D People have traditionally been hired based primarily on the degree they earned, the job they had, or the people they knew. He said “Good luck! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
