Let’s see her story about her hobby and dream.
My name is Lin Lin, and I really enjoy singing Beijing opera. When I was a little girl, I heard my grandpa sing it and I liked it a lot. He was happy to teach me, and we often sang together. From then on, I started dreaming of becoming an opera singer.
Last year our school organised a talent show. I wanted to sing, but I didn’t feel confident enough to do that. I was nervous about singing in front of all my classmates. Would I be able to sing well? Would the other students like it? My grandpa told me, “Practice makes perfect. Remember to believe in yourself.” We made a plan together and I practiced everyday. I performed in front of my family and friends. They all encouraged me.
The day of the talent show came. I waited and waited. I felt my heart beating so quickly! Finally, it was my turn. I stood on the central stage and saw my friends waving at me. They were there with me! Slowly I relaxed. The music started and I began to sing.
When I finished singing, my friends cheered for me. They said, “We’re so impressed by your performance. Well done, Lin Lin!”
