In modern society, the fast-paced life makes people often feel stressed. Whether it’s heavy work pressure, tight study schedules, or complicated interpersonal relationships, stress seems to be everywhere. One common way people deal with stress is to watch TV, as it allows them to escape from real-life worries for a while. Different people have different preferences, so they like different 1 of TV programmes.
Some people enjoy 2 shows. These shows usually invite famous stars to share their life stories, talk about their career experiences, or even show their daily routines. Viewers can not only see their favorite celebrities up close but also gain inspiration from their stories. For example, some stars talk about how they overcame difficulties in their lives, which can encourage viewers who are in trouble. These shows can easily make people happy and forget their worries for a while, bringing a sense of comfort.
3 like documentaries. Unlike entertaining shows, documentaries focus on presenting real facts and knowledge. They cover a wide range of topics—from the mysterious depths of the ocean to the distant galaxies in the universe, from ancient civilizations to modern scientific discoveries. Viewers can learn a lot about nature, history and science from these programmes. Although documentaries are usually 4 compared to exciting TV series, they are full of valuable knowledge that broadens people’s horizons.
For those who love 5 , detective programmes are an absolute favorite. These programmes are full of suspense. Every episode has a tricky case waiting to be solved. Viewers enjoy following the detective’s steps, analyzing the clues carefully, and trying to 6 the mysteries before the end of the show. This process of reasoning not only exercises their thinking ability but also keeps them 7 all the time, as they are eager to know the final truth.
8 , watching too much TV is not good for our health. Sitting in front of the TV for a long time without moving can lead to poor blood circulation. It’s also bad for our eyes, as the blue light from the screen can damage our eyesight. Moreover, some people like to eat snacks while watching TV, which can make them fat because they take in too many calories. So we should watch TV in a right way—set a time limit for daily TV watching, choose high-quality programmes, and 9 more time on other meaningful things like reading, exercising, or communicating with family and friends. In this way, TV programmes can truly 10 us a lot, not just as a way to kill time, but as a tool to enrich our lives and make them more colorful.

What would life be like if AI (artificial intelligence) solved all your problems? You wouldn’t have to work anymore. You could get anything you wanted by just moving a finger. You could get pleasure whenever you wanted. Death would become almost a choice—you could turn into a digital form (数字化的形式) and keep going for a million years.
All that sounds terrible to me.
It’s true that humans don’t like problems. But if we had no problems to solve, what would be the point of living? How long would we be happy sitting on top of our big mountains of candy? For me, a long weekend would be enough. A million years of perfect happiness would feel like a terrible dream.
Professor Nick Bostrom from a famous university believes that even if AI could do everything perfectly, people might still “work” at “jobs” in “offices”. “But these jobs would really be more like hobbies.”
That wouldn’t be a problem, you might say, as people could stay busy doing other things. They could go shopping, do some gardening or take care of their children. But one reason people get satisfied with such activities is that they pride themselves on being good at them.
They know how to find the right beds, grow roses or dry a child’s tears. However, AI will probably do these all better than you. In a world like that, you might feel helpless.
But life in that “perfect” world might still be bearable (可忍受的), says Bostrom. For example, we could ask our computers to give us interesting tasks. In Greg Egan’s sci-fi novel Permutation City, a man forces himself to develop new hobbies to keep from being bored. He finds joy in making table legs and ends up making 162,329 of them.
Bostrom advises us not to rush to make a decision. We might end up liking the future. “The question here is not how interesting a future is to look at, but how good it is to live in,” he says.
22.How does the writer feel about a life where AI could solve all problems?
A.People would find real joy. B.Life would be terrible.
C.There would be no more jobs. D.Life would be interesting.
23.What does Bostrom say about “future jobs” if AI could do everything?
A.People might fight against AI for jobs. B.People might give up creating new tasks.
C.People might have less time to relax. D.People might still do some work.
24.When might people feel helpless in a world with smart AI?
A.When they compare their abilities with AI’s.
B.When they find AI cannot finish their tasks.
C.When they work together with AI in offices.
D.When they can’t order AI to work for them.
25.What question does the writer want us to think about most?
A.Do we need to stop making AI smarter now?
B.Is it a good idea to stay alive for millions of years?
C.Can life keep meaningful if AI solves all problems?
D.What can we do to improve our skills?

We love Graffiti (涂鸦)Wall Activity for kids. It’s easy, fun and kind of cool. Using paper, markers, and a few other materials you will create a “graffiti wall” in your home where children and family members can draw or write down their feelings. This is a super easy activity and it’s not nearly as messy as it sounds. In fact, it is a good way to express our feelings and release stress.
This activity is good for school aged children and teens. Try to let older teens get into the activity by placing the wall in a room with more privacy (隐私). You also might want to ask them to help you out by setting a good example for younger sisters or brothers and showing them “how it’s done”.
It encourages children to express their emotions in a fun and casual way, and sends the message to children that the adults in the home support open expression.
Besides, it allows children to express their feelings in privacy when no one else is around, which can release stress.
What’s more, parents can monitor the wall and check in with their children if they see something they think they should discuss.
All necessary things can be easily bought in the store. There is a list: a strong tape, a large piece of paper and a few crayons or markers.
54.Who is the activity good for? (不超过15个词)
