All over the world, people are starting to think instead of buying them. This idea is called the sharing economy. This sharing often takes place across digital platforms, such as online communities or apps. It helps people save money and makes things easier for everyone.
For instance, in Beijing, some people can use an app to rent (租) out a powerful washer for the weekend. Others rent out an empty garage (车库) for storing things. The sharing economy means that for something you don't use very often, you can rent it instead of buying it. This way, money is saved, and everyone wins. It also helps protect the environment.
Many popular apps are part of this idea. Airbnb lets people rent out their spare rooms. Travellers can stay in these rooms instead of expensive hotels. It helps both the hosts and the guests. Another app, Uber, allows people to share rides. Drivers can make money, and riders can get around more easily without owning a car.
Now sharing ideas is growing too. In New York, a public library lets people borrow clothes for job interviews. This helps people look their best without spending too much money. Some websites, like Rent the Runway, let women rent beautiful dresses for special events at lower prices. Other apps let community members share tools or kitchen things. People can even share their skills and services, like walking dogs or helping with chores.
Of course, there are probably some problems with the sharing economy, like low-quality service or unclear guidelines. But many people still enjoy it. It helps people connect with others and helps create a friendlier world where kindness and trust can grow.
37. What is the sharing economy mainly about?
A. Selling unused things to make money.
B. Buying new things instead of renting them.
C. Making things by hand to protect the environment.
D. Sharing things to save money and cut down on waste.
38. What does the underlined word “spare” mean in Paragraph 3?
A. Unused. B. Cheap. C. Untidy. D. Old.
39. What is the problem with the sharing economy according to the last paragraph?
A. It is hard to use the apps.
B. It may cause people to lose jobs.
C It changes the way people communicate.
D. It may have unclear rules or poor service.
40. Why did the writer write the passage?
A. To explain that sharing economy apps are unsafe.
B. To introduce the sharing economy and its good sides.
C. To introduce popular sharing economy apps like Airbnb.
D. To explain why sharing things is better than buying them.

The tallest part is called Tiantan Peak. It rises 1,715 metres high and is known as a sacred site (圣地). Long ago, the Yellow Emperor held some important events there. On the southern side of Mount Wangwu, you can find the location from the well-known story of Yu Gong Moves the Mountains. This location has a long ridge (山脊) rising from Tiantan Peak. There are many wonderful places to visit at Mount Wangwu. Some of the best include Yuanyang Pond, Longmen Grottoes, and Yangtai Palace. Take Yangtai Palace for example.
C. It changes the way people communicate.
