Kick off your explorations with this roundup of four beautiful landscapes. Banff National Park, Canada You could fill a whole summer just at Banff National Park. Hike up Sulphur Mountain, relax in hot springs, search for beavers (河狸) around Vermilion Lakes, then head to one of the park’s turquoise lakes, Lake Louise, to hike to the Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse. Spend more days in nearby Jasper and visit Maligne Lake and the boulder fields of Whistlers Mountain. Vatnajökull National Park, Iceland Take in views of volcanoes rising beneath icy glaciers here. Europe’s largest national park covers nearly 14% of the island, protecting the largest ice cap (冰冠) outside of the poles. Glaciers flow down from its frozen bulk, while hidden below the ice are mountain peaks and active volcanoes. This is the very place putting Iceland on the travel map, known for its “fire and ice” landscape. Grand Canyon National Park, US The vastness of the park is what grabs visitors first — a nearly two billion-year-old tear in the Earth’s surface. The beauty of the details can also really stick with you: the sunlight on the colorful cliffs and the green oases by the winding river that carved this amazing landscape. For an easily accessible thrill with views of every direction, make your way to the must-visit Skywalk. Yellowstone National Park, US Geothermal (地热的) wonders play a big part in making it the first national park in the world. Between the forested hills and rocky areas, you’ll find colorful hot springs that shoot steam. This park is also alive with wildlife, with some 3,500 sq miles of wilderness to explore and for the best views, prioritize visits to the geyser (间歇泉) fields surrounding Old Faithful. 21. What can visitors do in Banff National Park according to the text? A. Watch geysers around Old Faithful. B. Hike to a teahouse at Lake Louise. C Walk on the Skywalk for a full view. D. Explore the largest ice cap in Europe. 22. What does Vatnajökull National Park feature? A. The colorful hot springs. B. The vastness of the park. C. The active volcanoes under ice. D. The turquoise lakes and glaciers. 23. Which of the following is the oldest national park in the world? A. Banff National Park. B. Vatnajökull National Park. C. Grand Canyon National Park. D. Yellowstone National Park. B Ibby Piracha, who was a deaf-mute (聋哑人) since he was young, adjusted his glasses as he approached the counter in a coffee shop. His fingers tapped lightly on the surface of the counter—his usual way to signal his presence. Then the waiter with the silver name tag (标牌), Krystal Payne, suddenly stepped back from the coffee machine and reached into a box. Payne pulled out a piece of receipt paper, wrote something, and then folded it into three parts, sliding it across the counter to Ibby. Ibby’s breath caught as he unfolded the paper, his fingertips touching the letters: I have been learning American Sign Language, so you can have the same experience as everyone else. Behind the counter, Payne had been quietly watching. She saw Ibby’s eyebrows lift in surprise as he swallowed (做吞咽动作) with effort. Then, a real, genuine smile spread across his face, one that reached all the way to his crinkled brown eyes, the same way his mother used to smile when she’d surprise him with his favorite comic book. He carefully smoothed out the paper, as if it was something very fragile and precious. Then she signed to ask him what he would like to order. The words she expressed with sign language were slightly messy at the end — you could tell she had been practicing—but each letter stood proudly on the note. Then, he slowly and carefully expressed himself and then slid his order card under it. Payne’s gesture was especially meaningful given the challenges faced by the deaf community. A recent study showed that 67% of deaf people experience negative treatment due to their condition, even often from those closest to them. But in this quiet coffee shop, with the sound of the coffee machine in the background, Payne had created a moment of true connection and bridged the widest gaps with the simplest acts. 24. Why did Ibby tap lightly on the counter? A. To convey his impatience. B. To practice his sign language. C. To draw the waiter’s attention. D. To check if the waiter was there. 25. How did Ibby feel when reading the note from Payne? A. Confused and curious. B. Amazed and touched. C. Amused and relaxed. D. Embarrassed and tense. 26. What can we learn about Payne? A. She was a close friend of Ibby’s family. B. She prepared the note in advance for Ibby. C. She had been trained in sign language for years. D. She tried to communicate with Ibby in his way. 27. Which of the following can best describe Payne? A. Caring and considerate. B. Independent and strict. C. Open-minded and calm. D. Strong-willed and honest. C Really young children don’t seem to remember a big part of their formative years. Why is this? When we’re born, our brain isn’t fully developed and it continues to grow and change massively in those first few years of life. For example, a baby’s brain is about a quarter of its adult size, but by the age of two, it’ll be three-quarters of its final size. And as our brain develops, our memory does too. A recent study used brain scans (扫描图) of 26 children aged four months to two years old to understand whether babies actually form memories. Children were shown a picture of a new face, object or scene for two seconds and were then shown it again 60 seconds later. If a baby had a lot of activity in the hippocampus (海马体), which plays a key role in forming new memories, when looking at a new image, the scientists found they would then spend longer looking at it a second time. The theory goes that because babies tend to look at familiar things for longer, it’s likely that they are remembering what they have seen. If babies do in fact form memories then, researchers suggested, it’s likely that the inability to remember those early years could be caused by difficulties recalling memories. Study co-author Tristan Yates, a neuroscientist at Columbia University in New York City, said, “One really cool possibility is that the memories are actually still there in adulthood. It’s just that we’re not able to recollect them.” Why might we have trouble recalling memories? According to scientists at The University of Queensland, when we’re younger, a part of our hippocampus goes into overdrive, producing neurons (神经元) really quickly. Yet as we age, this slows down. The experts said it’s believed this quick-firing neuron production could contribute to little kids forgetting their earliest memories. They explained, “By forming new connections with memory circuits (回路), the masses of new neurons may break existing networks of already-formed memories.” 28. How did the researchers tell if babies had formed memories? A. By scanning the brain activity in hippocampus. B. By comparing the brain sizes of different babies. C. By testing their ability to recognize different sounds. D. By measuring how long they look at repeated images. 29. What does Tristan Yates agree on early memories in adulthood? A. They might be lost as we grow up. B. They remain but are hard to reach. C. They become much clearer over time. D. They are taken over by new memories. 30. How does the production of many new neurons lead to forgetting? A. It takes up too much space in the brain. B. It slows down the brain’s overall function. C. It destroys circuits that hold old memories. D. It prevents new memories from being formed. 31. What is the best title for the text? A. Why Can’t We Remember Being Babies? B. Why Shouldn’t We Wake Early Memories? C. How Are Memories Formed In Childhood? D. How Does Our Brain Size Affect Memories? D In the parks and backyards of Staten Island, disease ecologist Maria Diuk-Wasser was surprised by what she saw. Ticks (蜱) — and lots of them — nestled in wood piles, between leaves, and underneath bird feeders. They are more than she found in the previous year. Diuk-Wasser had been tracking tick activity in New York City for years. “A similar phenomenon may be unfolding nearby in Queens and Brooklyn,” Diuk-Wasser says. According to Diuk-Wasser, these insects can live in any area that’s forested or contains leaf litter that provides ticks with the high humidity (湿度). Ticks long occupied the land where cities now stand, but were displaced in the 1800s as forests were cut down for agricultural purposes and forced to go wherever there were forests. But as farming declined in the US in the 1900s, areas near cities were reforested with city parks. And ticks have moved into these parks by hitchhiking (搭便车) on the backs of other animals. Ticks can exist wherever there are hosts — whether that be raccoons, mice, birds, squirrels, or possums. Among all of them, the biggest factor that influences whether an urban tick community will become bigger is whether there’s a pathway for deer to enter. As long as deer visit, we will find ticks. Following the cities’ reforestation, wildlife — including deer and white-legged mice — returned, ticks in tow. At the same time, climate change is majorly impacting tick activity. Decades ago, ticks would die out as winter came, but warmer weather has extended tick season. The odds you’ll be exposed to an infected (带菌的) tick in a city park are the same as the chance you’ll run into one on a wooded hike. Roughly 20 to 30 percent of baby ticks are infected with the bacteria that causes Lyme disease, research shows. “You do see cases where people acquired Lyme disease from urban parks,” says Diuk-Wasser. “Therefore, you should protect yourself in certain urban greenspaces the same way you are hiking or camping in the wild.” 32. What surprised Diuk-Wasser in Staten Island? A. Ticks failed to adapt to life there. B. Ticks expanded in great numbers. C. Ticks had escaped to nearby areas. D. Ticks were hiding under wood piles. 33. What made ticks decline in the 1800s? A. Changes of land use. B. Rising deer populations. C. Overuse of chemicals. D. Construction of city parks. 34. What does the underlined words “in tow” in paragraph 3 mean? A. Driven. B. Threatened. C. Following. D. Disappearing. 35. What are people advised to do in urban greenspaces? A. Stay away from wildlife animals. B. Plant trees to reduce tick numbers. C. Avoid entering greenspaces during winter. D. Wear protective clothing as when hiking. It seems as if the successful people don’t have challenges since they have a lot of wealth, power, and status. ___36___. These are four steps they usually use to overcome it. Trust your inner strength You must believe that the situations you’re going through — the good, the bad, and the ugly — are for a purpose, all helping shape you into the person you were born to be. At the same time, you must believe that you have been given the power to overcome them. ___37___. Dare to think positively ___38___. But that doesn’t do anything. Think to yourself: Have worrying ever solved a problem? Never has it and never will it. The right mindset and the right attitude will always help overcome negative situations. So, when you face adversity (逆境), discipline yourself to see the best in it. Your positive thinking will turn your situation around for your good. ___39___ When we experience hardships, we may take them as misfortunes that have come to mess up our lives and destroy the future we have in store for ourselves. Actually, they give us life lessons that no lecture in the world can offer. Struggles bring experience and with experience comes progress. So, when you face adversity, take it as a lesson for a brighter tomorrow. Pick your influencers wisely This is an important thing to consider when facing adversity. Usually, the first thing we do when we have a situation is panic and call someone. But if that person happens to be a “worrier”, it will cause more pain to the situation. Make it your priority to surround yourself with the right company. ___40___. A. It’s the pathway to success B. Let adversity be your teacher C. It’s human nature to over-react, worry, and complain D. With your belief, you’ll see things start to turn out that way E. Their words and attitude will soon help improve your situation F. Yet they become what they are because of the art they handle adversity G. Everything you experience is the result of choices you have made in the past 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 Art is a timeless form of self-expression. In 2017, Andrea Magder lost her 28-year-old son Ethan, and that changed the ____43____ of her life. “After he passed away, I ____44____ his journals, the beginning of a novel, artworks, and other works,” Magder said. Magder created The Artist Lives Gallery, an online platform to showcase the artwork of ____49____ artists globally, allowing their legacy (遗产) to continue. It was not only ____50____ for Magder, but also brought light to others. The Artist Lives Gallery served a ____51____ far beyond a gallery. He started as a common worker and later became a manager. He was known for his ability to make quick and smart decisions. But in recent years, a noticeable change had come over him. The once confident manager became overwhelmed (不知所措的) by everyday pressures. His colleagues did not understand why. They thought he had lost his confidence. They told him, “You need to be stronger.” Richard felt very ashamed and decided to leave the job. The true cause of his struggle was unknown to everyone, including his doctor. He had early-onset Alzheimer’s disease But most people, even his doctor, would hardly relate him to this illness because of his age of 49. So no one knew what was happening to him. Fuld was experiencing cognitive (认知的) decline. The following years were a difficult and confusing period for Fuld. He moved from one job to another, but he could not perform as he once had and was forced to quit. It was not until three years later that he received a formal and accurate diagnosis (诊断): early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. The diagnosis was terrifying. It confirmed his worst fears about his future. Yet, it also brought a strange sense of relief. Finally, there was a scientific explanation for his professional and personal decline. Despite the disease, Fuld did not want to be defeated and still had a strong desire to work to feel needed. One day, he applied for a job at a new company. During the interview, Fuld made the difficult choice to be completely honest. He told them about his Alzheimer’s diagnosis and openly discussed his limitations. Once again, just like all those interviews before, he was told to wait for the results. When Fuld was almost losing heart at the end of the next day, he got a call. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Unfortunately, Fuld’s physical condition got worse as time passed. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025年秋季学期高二年级12月教学质量检测 英语试题 注意事项: 1. How much is the shirt? C. Walk on the Skywalk for a full view. B 22. C 23. 根据Banff National Park, Canada部分“Hike up Sulphur Mountain, relax in hot springs, search for beavers (河狸) around Vermilion Lakes, then head to one of the park’s turquoise lakes, Lake Louise, to hike to the Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse.(登上硫磺山徒步探险,在温泉中放松身心,在朱砂湖周边寻觅河狸踪迹,接着前往公园里一处绿松石色的湖泊——路易斯湖,徒步前往六冰川平原茶室)”可知,游客可以在路易斯湖徒步到茶室。 根据Vatnajökull National Park, Iceland部分“Glaciers flow down from its frozen bulk, while hidden below the ice are mountain peaks and active volcanoes.(冰川从其冰冻的主体上流下,而冰下隐藏着山峰和活火山)”可知,瓦特纳冰川国家公园的特色是冰下的活火山。 根据Yellowstone National Park, US部分“Geothermal (地热的) wonders play a big part in making it the first national park in the world.(地热奇观在使其成为世界上第一个国家公园方面发挥了重要作用)”可知,黄石国家公园是世界上第一个国家公园,也就是最古老的国家公园。故选D。 B Ibby Piracha, who was a deaf-mute (聋哑人) since he was young, adjusted his glasses as he approached the counter in a coffee shop. C 25. B 26. D 27. 根据第一段中“His fingers tapped lightly on the surface of the counter — his usual way to signal his presence.(他的手指轻轻敲了敲柜台的表面——这是他通常用来示意自己存在的方式)”可知,Ibby轻敲柜台是为了示意服务员他的存在,也就是引起服务员的注意。 根据第三段中“She saw Ibby’s eyebrows lift in surprise as he swallowed (做吞咽动作) with effort. Then, a real, genuine smile spread across his face, one that reached all the way to his crinkled brown eyes, the same way his mother used to smile when she’d surprise him with his favorite comic book. He carefully smoothed out the paper, as if it was something very fragile and precious.(她看到Ibby费力地咽了口唾沫,惊讶地挑了挑眉。然后,一个真实、真诚的微笑在他脸上绽放,一直延伸到他布满笑纹的棕色眼睛,就像他母亲用他最喜欢的漫画书给他惊喜时那样微笑。他小心翼翼地把纸抚平,好像那是一件非常脆弱和珍贵的东西)”可知,Ibby看到纸条上的内容后非常惊讶且被感动了。故选B。 【26题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段中“I have been learning American Sign Language, so you can have the same experience as everyone else.(我一直在学习美国手语,这样你就能和其他人有一样的体验)”以及第四段中“Then she signed to ask him what he would like to order.(然后她用手语问他要点什么)”可知,Payne在学习手语,并尝试用Ibby的方式(手语)和他交流。 A。 C Really young children don’t seem to remember a big part of their formative years. D 29. B 30. C 31. 根据第二段的句子“If a baby had a lot of activity in the hippocampus (海马体), which plays a key role in forming new memories, when looking at a new image, the scientists found they would then spend longer looking at it a second time. The theory goes that because babies tend to look at familiar things for longer, it’s likely that they are remembering what they have seen.(科学家们发现,如果婴儿在看新图像时,海马体(海马体在形成新记忆中起着关键作用)活动频繁,那么他们第二次看新图像的时间就会更长。该理论认为,由于婴儿倾向于看熟悉的东西的时间更长,他们很可能会记住他们所看到的东西。)”可知,研究者通过测量婴儿第二次看图片的时长来判断是否形成记忆。故选D项。 【29题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段的句子“Study co-author Tristan Yates, a neuroscientist at Columbia University in New York City, said, “One really cool possibility is that the memories are actually still there in adulthood. It’s just that we’re not able to recollect them.”(研究报告的合著者、纽约哥伦比亚大学的神经科学家特里斯坦·耶茨说:“一种非常酷的可能性是,这些记忆实际上在成年后仍然存在。只是我们记不起来了。”)”可知,成年后,记忆仍在,只是难以提取。故选B项。 【30题详解】 细节理解题。根据最后一段的句子“The experts said it’s believed this quick-firing neuron production could contribute to little kids forgetting their earliest memories. They explained, “By forming new connections with memory circuits (回路), the masses of new neurons may break existing networks of already-formed memories.”(专家表示,这种神经元快速增殖的现象可能是导致幼儿遗忘早期记忆的原因之一。他们解释说:“大量新生的神经元通过与记忆回路形成新的连接,可能会破坏已形成的记忆网络。”)”可知,大量新神经元会破坏原有记忆回路。故选C项。 【31题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,文章开篇提出核心问题“Really young children don’t seem to remember a big part of their formative years. Why is this?(幼童似乎记不起他们成长过程中很大一部分经历。这是为什么呢?)”,随后通过研究解释婴儿能形成记忆,但成年后难以回忆的原因 (海马体神经元快速生成破坏旧记忆网络)。A项“Why Can’t We Remember Being Babies?(为什么我们记不住婴儿时期的事?) 精准概括全文主旨,是文章的最佳标题。故选A项。 D In the parks and backyards of Staten Island, disease ecologist Maria Diuk-Wasser was surprised by what she saw. 【答案】32. B 33. A 34. C 35. D 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章介绍了纽约市蜱虫数量增加的现象,探讨了其背后的原因(城市绿化、野生动物回归、气候变化),并给出了在城市绿地中应如何防护的建议。 【32题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一段“In the parks and backyards of Staten Island, disease ecologist Maria Diuk-Wasser was surprised by what she saw. Ticks (蜱) — and lots of them — nestled in wood piles, between leaves, and underneath bird feeders. They are more than she found in the previous year.(在史坦顿岛的公园和后院,疾病生态学家玛丽亚·迪乌克-瓦塞尔对她所看到的景象感到惊讶。蜱虫——而且数量很多——蜷缩在木堆里、树叶之间和喂鸟器下面。它们的数量比她去年发现的还要多)”可知,让Diuk-Wasser感到惊讶的是,她看到了大量的蜱虫,而且数量比去年更多。故选B项。 【33题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段中“Ticks long occupied the land where cities now stand, but were displaced in the 1800s as forests were cut down for agricultural purposes and forced to go wherever there were forests.(蜱虫曾长期占据如今城市所在的地方,但在19世纪,由于森林被砍伐用于农业目的,它们被迫离开,迁移到任何有森林的地方)”可知,19世纪蜱虫减少是因为土地用途的改变(砍伐森林用于农业)。故选A项。 【34题详解】 词句猜测题。第三段划线词上文“And ticks have moved into these parks by hitchhiking (搭便车) on the backs of other animals. Ticks can exist wherever there are hosts — whether that be raccoons, mice, birds, squirrels, or possums.(蜱虫通过依附在其他动物的背上,已经“搭便车”进入了这些公园。只要有宿主——无论是浣熊、老鼠、鸟类、松鼠还是负鼠——蜱虫就能生存)”提到蜱虫可以依附在其他动物身上搭便车。根据划线词所在句“Following the cities’ reforestation, wildlife — including deer and white-legged mice — returned, ticks in tow.(随着城市的重新绿化,野生动物——包括鹿和白足鼠——回归了,蜱虫in tow)” 可知,城市重新绿化,野生动物回归,所以,在其他动物身上搭便车的蜱虫群落也随之而来,跟着回归了。因此,划线短语“in tow”指“跟随着、随之而来”,与C项“Following”意思相近。故选C项。 【35题详解】 细节理解题。根据最后一段“Therefore, you should protect yourself in certain urban greenspaces the same way you are hiking or camping in the wild.(因此,在某些城市绿地中,你应该像在野外徒步或露营一样保护自己)”可知,建议人们在城市绿地中采取与野外徒步时相同的防护措施,如穿着防护服装等。故选D项。 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 It seems as if the successful people don’t have challenges since they have a lot of wealth, power, and status. Everything you experience is the result of choices you have made in the past 【答案】36. F 37. D 38. C 39. B 40. E 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章阐述成功人士并非无挑战,介绍其克服挑战的四个步骤。 【36题详解】 前文“It seems as if the successful people don’t have challenges since they have a lot of wealth, power, and status. (成功的人似乎没有挑战,因为他们有很多财富、权力和地位。)”提到好像成功人士没有挑战,而后文“These are four steps they usually use to overcome it. (这是他们通常用来克服它的四个步骤。)”及下文说成功的人克服挑战的具体步骤,这里需要一个转折句来引出他们其实是有挑战并需要克服的,F选项“Yet they become what they are because of the art they handle adversity(然而,他们之所以成为现在的样子,是因为他们应对逆境的技巧)”符合逻辑,起到承上启下的作用。故选F。 【37题详解】 此段主题是“Trust your inner strength (相信你内心的力量)”,前文“You must believe that the situations you’re going through— the good, the bad, and the ugly— are for a purpose, all helping shape you into the person you were born to be. At the same time, you must believe that you have been given the power to overcome them. (你必须相信你所经历的一切——好的、坏的、丑陋的——都是有目的的,它们都有助于把你塑造成你天生的样子。与此同时,你必须相信你已经被赋予了克服它们的力量。)”强调相信自己有克服困难的力量,D选项 “With your belief, you’ll see things start to turn out that way (有了这种信念,你会看到事情开始朝着好的方向发展)”进一步阐述信念带来的结果,与主题相符。故选D。 38题详解】 根据后文“But that doesn’t do anything. Think to yourself: Have worrying ever solved a problem? (但这没有任何作用。想想自己:担心解决过问题吗?)”可知,这里说的是人们面对问题时的一些不好的反应,C选项“It’s human nature to over-react, worry, and complain (过度反应、担忧和抱怨是人类的天性)”符合语境,与后文形成转折关系。故选C。 【39题详解】 根据下文“Actually, they give us life lessons that no lecture in the world can offer. Struggles bring experience and with experience comes progress. (事实上,他们给我们的人生课程是世界上任何讲座都无法提供的。困难带来经验,有了经验就有进步。)”可知,本段强调困难能给我们带来生活教训,B选项“Let adversity be your teacher(让逆境成为你的老师)”符合段落主旨,作为小标题恰当。故选B。 【40题详解】 此段主题是“Pick your influencers wisely(明智地选择影响你的人)”,前文“Make it your priority to surround yourself with the right company. (把结交合适的朋友作为你的首要任务。)”强调要选择合适的人陪伴,E选项“Their words and attitude will soon help improve your situation (他们的话语和态度很快会帮助改善你的处境)”进一步说明合适的人会带来的积极影响,符合主题。故选E。 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 Art is a timeless form of self-expression. He had early-onset Alzheimer’s disease (早期阿尔茨海默病). But most people, even his doctor, would hardly relate him to this illness because of his age of 49. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150个左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 When Fuld was almost losing heart at the end of the next day, he got a call. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Unfortunately, Fuld’s physical condition got worse as time passed. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 When Fuld was almost losing heart at the end of the next day, he got a call. Surprisingly, it was the company that called to give him the job. Considering his physical condition, they arranged for him to take up some simple work like making copies. Though it was far from the work he was once accustomed to, he was more than fulfilled and grateful. It was at this low point that he encountered the unexpected act of kindness. This job meant a lot to him, giving him a sense of purpose at a time when his life was falling apart. He felt useful and valued again. Unfortunately, Fuld’s physical condition got worse as time passed. One day, he lost his balance and fell from a small ladder. This accident made it clear that it was no longer safe for him to keep working. The company manager had to inform him that they had to let him go. However, Fuld’s final day at work was never a quiet, sad day. Instead, his colleagues organized a farewell party, celebrating his service and thanking him for his contributions, which was a beautiful, remarkable gesture. It was not an act of pity, but one of profound respect, affirming that Fuld was always a valued member of their community. 词汇激活 行为类 ①提供工作:give/offer him the job ②遇到:encounter/come across ③举办欢送会:organize/hold/launch a farewell party 情绪类 ①满足的:fulfilled/satisfied/content ②感激:grateful/thankful/appreciative 【点睛】[高分句型1]It was at this low point that he encountered the unexpected act of kindness.(运用了强调句型) [高分句型2]Instead, his colleagues organized a farewell party, celebrating his service and thanking him for his contributions, which was a beautiful, remarkable gesture.(运用了现在分词作状语及which引导非限制性定语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
