Wetlands are really important for wildlife. We should try our best to protect wetlands.
There are two main problems for wetlands today. First, people use the land for farms and buildings. Another problem is caused by tourists. As people move through wetlands, they may bring trouble to the animals there or harm the plants.
To help solve these problems, governments can take action by creating laws to stop people from building on wetlands. Governments can also make laws to reduce the number of tourists visiting wetlands and make sure visitors do no harm while they are there.
Local communities should also work together to help protect wetlands. They can set up volunteer groups to help keep wetlands free from pollution and make sure tourists are careful when they visit. They can also plant wetland trees. These trees can attract more birds, animals and insects to keep the ecosystem balanced.

All the ecosystems need our

But is it just wetlands that need protection? No, all the ecosystems need our protection.

What can we do to help protect forests?
How to show the agreement?
That’s a good point!
I couldn’t agree more!
You read my mind!
I feel the same way!
...
Talk about what we can do to protect ecosystems.
Agreement:
That’s a good idea/ point.
That’s true.
You said it!
I agree.
I couldn’t agree more.
Disagreement:
I don’t think so.
I’m afraid I disagree.
I understand your idea, but I think...
Work in pairs
A: What can we do to protect wetlands/oceans/
grasslands...?
B: Well, we should (not)...
A: That’s a good idea. We can also...
/ I don’t think so, because...
B: That’s true. And maybe we can ...
A: You said it! We can ...
B: I agree.
I believe every one of us has some good ideas to help protect the ecosystems. When we are taking good care of these ecosystems, in fact, we are taking good care of our planet Earth.
To treat the earth kindly is to treat oneself kindly.
Ecotopia
And “To treat the earth kindly is to treat oneself kindly. “
Just like the animals in the film, they work together to build Zootopia, we humans can also work together to build our own “Ecotopia”.
For all:
Write a short report about the ecosystem you like. It should include importance, problems and action.
For Some:
Enjoy some documentaries(纪录片) like Planet Earth to learn more about different ecosystems and share your findings with classmates.
