Yours, Li Hua 第二节(满分25分) 【参考范文】 When everyone else had left, Sadie nervously approached Mr. King’s desk. At the sight of Sadie, Mr. King said seriously, “I have some concerns about your paper. Did you read the assignment information about research paper?” “I did... well, sort of,” she admitted. Then Mr. King pointed out that some of the information in her writing was not credible and explained how Sadie needed to confirm information from multiple sources. He also taught Sadie to quote others’ words correctly. Feeling quite ashamed of her mistake, Sadie begged to rewrite her research paper. That weekend, Sadie spent hours searching for reliable resources to rewrite her paper. She frequented the library and history museum locally and read all the resources she could find. She even found a 1960 interview where Helker talked about her mayoral loss — no bitterness, just pride in her work. On Monday, she handed in the rewritten paper. This time, she got an A and a note: “Incredible work—you learned to spot credible sources!” Sadie grinned. She learned a lesson she would never forget: good research was not just easy—it took care. B It’s all too common for some nonprofits to jump into countries to “fix” problems and then leave. When 23-year-old Maggie Grout started her nonprofit, she wanted to do the opposite Grout came up with the idea for Thinking Huts in 2015, when she was a teenager. The organization is a nonprofit dedicated to building schools in communities that need them. In 2022, Thinking Huts built its first 3D-printed school in the town of Fianarantsoa, a city in Madagascar. Now it’s preparing to uncover its second 3D-printed campus, nicknamed “Honeycomb (蜂巢)”, on the west coast of the African island. Thinking Huts’ method of constructing its schools takes a small part of the time that it would need to build a structure from scratch (从头做起), Grout says, with one “hut” taking just 18 hours and $40,000 to $50,000 to build. The campus consists of a handful of huts and use a honeycomb design with solar panels; they also have potable water, Wi-Fi, and toilets. The new campus will serve three villages in the southwestern region of the African island, where more than 200 students aged 4 to 16 live. Grout has considered launching Thinking Huts in a number of different countries. She settled first on Madagascar because it has both a struggling education system and a government that welcomes outsiders. As of 2022, roughly three out of four secondary-age children there were not attending school due to factors such as overcrowding and dangerous commutes, according to the United Nations. Grout’s long-term vision for the nonprofit is to bring it anywhere that would benefit from more access to education. “I think that education is at the root of solving all the other problems in the world.” Grout says. 24.What is the target for Thinking Huts? A.To fix problems at different campuses. B.To demonstrate 3D printing technology. C.To boost local economy in African towns. D.To found schools in needy communities. 25.What can be known about “Honeycomb”? A.It saves a lot of time. B.It is poorly-equipped. C.It consists of plenty of huts. D.It serves students in Fianarantsoa. 26.Why did Grout build the first 3D-printed school in Madagascar? A.The children there had no access to education. B.The United Nations sponsored the program there. C.The government invested much money in education. D.The education there is poor due to limited basic facilities. 27.Which of the following words can best describe Maggie Grout? A.Warm-hearted and brave. B.Well-informed and calm. C.Pioneering and ambitious. D.Diligent and adventurous. C In today’s digital classrooms, children often learn to read and write using computers, pressing keys instead of using pencils. This shift has raised an important question: does typing affect learning differently than handwriting? A recent study aimed to explore this by comparing the impact of handwriting and keyboard training on children's developing literacy skills. The researchers sought to understand whether the physical act of writing by hand plays a crucial role in how children learn letters and remember word structures. Their conclusion was clear: children who practiced by hand achieved significantly better results. To conduct the experiment, researchers worked with a group of young children at an ideal age for beginning to read and write. The children were taught a set of completely new, unfamiliar letters and some made-up words created from these letters. Using unfamiliar symbols was essential, as it ensured the children were learning from scratch without any prior knowledge. This approach allowed the study to accurately measure the learning process itself. The group was then split in half: one group copied the new letters and words by hand, while the other group practiced by typing them on a keyboard. After the training period, all the children were tested on their ability to identify, write, and pronounce the letters and words. The results showed a striking difference. The handwriting group demonstrated much stronger skills, particularly in remembering and writing the made-up words. This finding strongly supports the idea that the physical process of forming letters with your hand is vital for memorization. When typing, one simply presses a key, but when writing, the brain connects with the hand movements to create the letter’s shape, strengthening the learning. Furthermore, the study explored the best methods for handwriting practice. It compared children who learned by tracing dotted lines with those who copied the letters freely on a blank page. Interestingly, while both handwriting groups outperformed the typists, the children who practiced free writing showed the highest level of skill. This suggests that although guided tracing is helpful for absolute beginners, moving on to free writing is more beneficial for deeper learning. In conclusion, the study highlights the irreplaceable value of handwriting in early education. The physical connection between the hand and the brain is a powerful tool for learning. While technology can be a useful resource, it should play a supporting, not a leading, role. Prioritizing pencil-and-paper practice gives children the best possible foundation for developing strong reading and writing abilities. 28.Why did researchers use unfamiliar letters and made-up words in the experiment? A.To make the learning process more enjoyable for children. B.To test the children's ability to learn different languages. C.To compare the difficulty of various writing systems. D.To ensure the children started from the same knowledge level. 29.What can be inferred about the relationship between handwriting and memory? A.The physical act of writing strengthens memory. B.Visual information is the only factor for memory. C.Typing requires more mental effort than writing. D.Children must use pencils to learn new skills. 30.What did the study find regarding the methods of handwriting practice? A.Free writing is more effective than tracing after basic skills are learned. B.Tracing letters should always be avoided for beginners. C.Using different letter styles improves typing skills. D.The method of handwriting has little impact on the outcome. 31.What is the author’s primary suggestion for children’s literacy education? A.Digital tools should completely replace traditional methods. B.Handwriting should be the main focus, with technology as a supplement. C.Free writing is the only necessary skill for early learners. D.Keyboard training is more efficient than handwriting. D It’s well known that learning to play an instrument can offer benefits beyond just musical ability. It is a great activity to enhance our fine motor skills and keep our brains younger. If musical training can reshape the brain, can it also change the way musicians feel pain? To look at whether musical training and all the brain changes it creates could influence how musicians feel and deal with pain, we deliberately induced (诱发) hand pain over several days in both musicians and non-musicians to see if there was any difference in how they responded to the pain. A technique called transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) was used to measure brain activity of each participant. TMS sends tiny magnetic pulses into the brain. And these signals were used to create a map of how the brain controls the hand. We built these hand maps (手部图谱) before the pain injection, and then measured them again two days later and eight days later, to see if pain changed how the brain was working. When we compared the brains of the musicians and the non-musicians, the differences were striking. After the pain was induced, the musicians reported experiencing less discomfort overall. And while the hand map in non-musicians’ brains shrank after just two days of pain, the maps in musicians’ brains remained unchanged — amazingly, the more hours they had trained, the less pain they felt. This was a small study of just 40 people, but the results clearly showed that the musicians’ brains responded differently to pain. Their training seems to have given them a kind of buffer (缓冲) against the pain they felt. Of course, this doesn’t mean music is a cure for chronic pain. But it does show us that long-term training and experience can shape how we perceive pain. This is exciting because it might help us understand why some people are more resilient to pain than others, along with how we can design new treatments for those living with pain. 32.Why did the researchers induce hand pain in the participants? A.To test if TMS can measure brain activity effectively. B.To find out how musical training affects pain response. C.To prove that musical training can keep the brain younger. D.To compare the fine motor skills of musicians and non-musicians. 33.What can be learned about TMS? A.It could activate brain activities. B.It changed non-musicians’ brains. C.It was used to create a hand map. D.It made hand muscles ache for days. 34.What is the conclusion of the study? A.Music is an effective cure for chronic pain. B.Musicians feel less pain than non-musicians. C.Training makes musicians adaptive to change. D.Non-musicians can`t tolerate the induced pain. 35.What is the author’s attitude towards the study result? A.Doubtful. B.Indifferent. C.Positive. D.Neutral. In every culture throughout time, the kitchen has had a powerful influence. The simple practice of sitting down together at the table gives us the chance to connect and communicate. 36 It depends on where you live, your age, and other factors, but the answer is, yes. Our intentions for “home” are evolving. 37 Fast-paced lifestyles and work schedules make it hard to find time to shop for groceries and prepare meals. Online food delivery services have taken off, too. In 2016, one in 10 Chinese were ordering food online. Throughout Europe, online ordering is capturing 56 percent of the market in Sweden and 43 percent in Austria. In India, online food ordering is expected to reach close to $12m(US)by 2023. While there is a trend towards bring-in and order-in food, as well as dining out, the kitchen is still a core in home life. Food & Wine cited a survey in 22 countries asking about cooking habits. 38 At the lower end were South Koreans, who spent just 3.7 hours per week cooking. People in India were at the top with 13.2 hours per week spent in the kitchen. Simply being in the kitchen, cooking and eating with other people, can have healthy benefits. Regardless of its size, the kitchen is a warm and inviting place. 39 The difference is, now you can follow a recipe on your iPad while cooking. It’s true that impersonal appliances are connecting to each other and to us. Refrigerators order vegetables. Cooktop hoods with sensors turn on by themselves. While technology and our expectations for the kitchen are shape-shifting in real time, the fundamentals remain the same. 40 A.So is cooking a way to express yourself? B.The global average was almost 6.5 hours. C.But is our relationship to the kitchen changing? D.It’s like gathering around a campfire in the past. E.People seem to be spending less time cooking worldwide. F.Now more of them are eating outside the home more frequently. G.The kitchen is where we connect with food and company in the soul of the home. Ben and his single father, Tom, lived in a small, cozy house on Elm Street. Recently, a clean energy system 58 (tailor) for polar conditions has been put into operation in China’s Qinling station in Antarctica. This is a big achievement because it 59 (great) lowers the station’ s need for fossil fuels and its possible harm to the environment. The breakthrough means China has become the first country 60 (achieve) the large-scale operation of a clean energy system under extreme Antarctic conditions. According to the lead scientist, Sun Hongbin, 56, this project marks a major advance in China’s efforts to explore green energy solutions in polar regions. Since the launch of the system on March 1, it 61 (replace) traditional diesel(柴油) power sources, 62 (provide) uninterrupted zero-carbon power for the research equipment and essential living facilities at Qinling station, which was established in February last year as China’s 63 (five) Antarctic research station. Solar and wind power now provide about 60 percent of the total energy that the system can produce. In situations 64 there isn’t enough wind or sun, hydrogen that has been stored can be used to provide extra power. Sun stressed the primary challenges in ensuring the 65 (stable) and safety of the equipment. She had missed six days of school for a family reunion. Now she was busy with her makeup work. Sadie looked through the first few pages of her homework packet. This is a piece of cake, she determined. Back in class on Monday morning, it was business as usual. Then, at the end of the day, Mr. King announced, “Don’t forget about your research papers, which are due at the end of this week.” Sadie’s eyes grew wide. What research paper? That night, Sadie found the information about the paper at the bottom of her makeup stack(一堆). The assignment was to write about an important person from her town. The directions included sections on how to find, evaluate, and cite sources. “This should be easy,” she declared. Sadie pulled out her tablet. The limited information available about her small town narrowed her choices, but one name caught her eye: Catherine Helker. Helker had started Sweet Cat’s bakery in the 1950s, and she was elected mayor for two terms. But after she ran for a third term and lost, Helker shocked everyone by closing down her popular bakery. Sadie looked through some articles online that claimed Helker closed her business because some customers became sick from her treats. Another article demonstrated how she was upset after losing her position as mayor. Sadie read some information about Helker on the Internet but didn’t do further research. By the end of the night, she had a rough outline. At the end of the week, Sadie turned in her essay on time. When the paper was sent back on the following Wednesday, Sadie scanned for her grade, eager and excited. Shockingly, a note written in red stood out: “Please see me after class.” As Sadie looked back through the essay, she noticed circles, notes, and other marks. She had never failed an assignment before. Her chest felt tight, and she had to blink away tears. When everyone else had left, Sadie nervously approached Mr. King’s desk. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ That weekend, Sadie spent hours searching for reliable resources to rewrite her paper. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试题 第11页(共12页) 试题 第12页(共12页) 试题 第9页(共12页) 试题 第10页(共12页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $听力考试正式开始。I think this book is great. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ That weekend, Sadie spent hours searching for reliable resources to rewrite her paper. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试卷第1页,共3页 试卷第1页,共3页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2026年高考英语模拟风向卷04(全国一卷) (解析版) (考试时间:120分钟 试卷满分:150分) 注意事项: 1. 1.How does the man find the book? C.Napping may be unnecessary for those who sleep well at night. 【答案】18.A 19.C 20.C 【原文】W: Studies show that napping can improve your well-being if done right. However, napping for too long can end up having a negative impact on your overall health, and may also shorten your lifespan. Chelsie Rohrscheib, head sleep expert at sleep testing firm Wesper, told Newsweek that people who take long naps are likely to get low-quality sleep at night. She said, “Poor sleep at night has major negative effects on health. Additionally, we also see high rates of sleep disorders in people who require long naps during the day. Another consideration is that people who need long naps are generally pretty tired and lazy during the day, and therefore they’re more likely to spend a lot of time sitting down.” According to Raj Dasgupta, chief medical adviser for Sleep Advisor, needing long naps may often be a sign that something is wrong with your body. “If you find yourself needing long or multiple naps to get through the day, you might have a sleep disorder or medical condition,” he said. According to Dasgupta, if you feel tired and have an opportunity to take a short nap in the early afternoon, then napping can be a beneficial way to improve your productivity, although he warns against getting into the habit of taking naps routinely. “If you get a good sleep at night and feel energetic during the day, you most likely do not need to nap,” he added. A World Health Organization(WHO)acknowledges the needs for a strong workforce to achieve the vision of improving the health and well-being of people everywhere. 根据文章第二段“The organization is a nonprofit dedicated to building schools in communities that need them(该组织是一个非营利组织,致力于在有需要的社区建造学校)”可知,Thinking Huts的目标是在有需要的社区建造学校。故选D项。 25. 根据原文第三段“Thinking Huts’ method of constructing its schools takes a small part of the time that it would need to build a structure from scratch(从头做起), Grout says, with one “hut” taking just 18 hours and $40,000 to $50,000 to build(格劳特说,“思维小屋”(Thinking Huts)建造学校的方式只需要从头开始建造一座建筑所需时间的一小部分,一个“小屋”仅需18小时,耗资4万至5万美元即可建成)”可知,“思维小屋”建造学校的方式只需要从头开始建造一座建筑所需时间的一小部分,一个“小屋”仅需18小时,可推理出“Honeycomb”节省了很多时间。故选A项。 26. 根据原文第四段“She settled first on Madagascar because it has both a struggling education system and a government that welcomes outsiders. As of 2022, roughly three out of four secondary-age children there were not attending school due to factors such as overcrowding and dangerous commutes, according to the United Nations(她首先选择了马达加斯加,因为那里既有困难的教育体系,又有欢迎外人的政府。据联合国称,截至2022年,由于过度拥挤和危险的通勤等因素,大约四分之三的中学适龄儿童没有上学)”可知,Grout在马达加斯加建造第一所3D打印学校是因为那里的教育由于基本设施有限而很差。故选D项。 27.推理判断题。根据原文第二段“Grout came up with the idea for Thinking Huts in 2015, when she was a teenager(Grout在2015年还是个青少年时就提出了Thinking Huts的想法)”可知,Grout在2015年还是个青少年时就提出了Thinking Huts的想法,可推理出她很有开创性;再根据最后一段“Grout’s long-term vision for the nonprofit is to bring it anywhere that would benefit from more access to education(Grout对该非营利组织的长期愿景是将其带到任何能从更多教育机会中受益的地方)”可知,Grout对该非营利组织的长期愿景是将其带到任何能从更多教育机会中受益的地方,可推理出她很有野心。 C In today’s digital classrooms, children often learn to read and write using computers, pressing keys instead of using pencils. 【答案】28.D 29.A 30.A 31.B 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。 根据文章第三段“This finding strongly supports the idea that the physical process of forming letters with your hand is vital for memorization...the brain connects with the hand movements to create the letter’s shape, strengthening the learning.(这一发现有力地支持了这样一个观点:用手形成字母的物理过程对记忆至关重要……大脑与手部运动相连接以创建字母的形状,从而加强学习)”可推知,手写和记忆之间的关系是手写的物理行为能加强记忆。故选A。 30. 根据第四段中“It compared children who learned by tracing dotted lines with those who copied the letters freely on a blank page. The physical connection between the hand and the brain is a powerful tool for learning. While technology can be a useful resource, it should play a supporting, not a leading, role.(总之,这项研究强调了手写在早期教育中不可替代的价值。手和大脑之间的物理联系是学习的有力工具。虽然科技可以是一种有用的资源,但它应该扮演支持的角色,而不是主导的角色)”可推知,作者对儿童读写教育的主要建议是手写应该是主要焦点,科技作为补充。故选B。 D It’s well known that learning to play an instrument can offer benefits beyond just musical ability. C.Positive. D.Neutral. 根据第二段“To look at whether musical training and all the brain changes it creates could influence how musicians feel and deal with pain, we deliberately induced (诱发) hand pain over several days in both musicians and non-musicians to see if there was any difference in how they responded to the pain. Still, he hopes to establish a 20,000-square-meter Antarctic extreme environment simulation laboratory in Shanxi to enhance future research. 56.with 57.However 58.tailored 59.greatly 60.to achieve 61.has replaced 62.providing 63.fifth 64.where 65.stability 【导语】这是一篇说明文。 故填with。 57. 前文说“太阳能和风能是主要重点”,而后文却说“make it tough for solar and wind power generation equipment to maintain stable and efficient operation(使太阳能和风力发电设备难以保持稳定高效运行)”,构成转折关系,副词however“然而”符合语境。故填However。 58. 故填to achieve。 61. 分析句子结构可知,句子包含时间状语“Since the launch of the system on March 1(自3月1日该系统推出以来)”,故谓语动词replace“取代”应该使用现在完成时,主语为代词it,故助动词用has。故填has replaced。 62. 故填where。 65. Dear Jack, ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Yours, Li Hua 【答案】 Dear Jack, I’m Li Hua, one of your students. I’m writing to sincerely invite you to give a lecture on the differences between British English and American English. The lecture can cover their distinctions in pronunciation, vocabulary and spelling. It will not only help us use English more accurately, but also deepen our understanding of the cultural backgrounds behind the two variants. We would be greatly honored if you could accept our invitation. Please let us know your available time at your convenience. 词汇积累 真挚地:sincerely→genuinely 开讲座:give a lecture→deliver a lecture 准确地:accurately→precisely 荣幸的:honored→privileged 2. It will not only help us use English more accurately, but also deepen our understanding of the cultural backgrounds behind the two variants. Not only will it help us use English more accurately, but it will also deepen our understanding of the cultural backgrounds behind the two variants. 1】We would be greatly honored if you could accept our invitation.(运用了if引导的条件状语从句) 【高分句型2】 I’m writing to sincerely invite you to give a lecture on the differences between British English and American English.(运用了不定式to invite作目的状语,to give作宾补) 第二节 (满分25分) 阅读下面材料, 根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段, 使之构成一篇完整的短文。 Sadie’s Incredible Essay Sadie was kicking herself. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ That weekend, Sadie spent hours searching for reliable resources to rewrite her paper. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 When everyone else had left, Sadie nervously approached Mr. 词汇激活 行为类 ①指出:point out / highlight ②查找:search for / seek out ③递交:hand in / present 情绪类 ①紧张的:nervous / apprehensive/tense ②羞愧的:ashamed / remorseful 【点睛】[高分句型1] She learned a lesson she would never forget: good research was not just easy—it took care.(使用了省略that的定语从句) [高分句型2] She even found a 1960 interview where Helker talked about her mayoral loss—no bitterness, just pride in her work.(使用关系副词where引导的定语从句,先行词为interview) 试卷第1页,共3页 试卷第1页,共3页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
