Do you wish you had a helper to do chores like folding clothes or cleaning the table? A new robot called Memo might be the answer.
Memo is a home robot created by two Stanford University graduates. Unlike most robots trained in labs, Memo learned its skills by watching real families. The team used a special glove to record the daily activities of 500 families. After collecting 10 million parts of housework, Memo can now do hard tasks—like running the dishwasher (洗碗机) and putting away clean dishes.
Memo is made for family homes. It has wheels so it can move smoothly (平稳地) and won’t fall. Its body is covered in soft skin, which makes it safe around children and pets. Even if the power goes off, Memo won’t fall down. Surprisingly, it can also make a cup of coffee for you.
“Most home robots fail in messy real homes,” said Tony Zhao, the company’s CEO. “But Memo’s training helps it handle unexpected problems—like a table full of homework or a sink full of dishes.” Starting in 2026, around 50 families will test Memo. The team hopes such robots will one day give people more time to do what they love.
