根据Tour A部分中“Pushed for time? Enjoy a fascinating shorter tour 故选A项。
根据Tour B部分中“To learn more about the stadium, take a 70-minute stadium tour (要了解更多关于体育场的信息,请进行70分钟的体育场之旅)”和Tour D部分中“Our education package includes a 50-minute interactive enrichment workshop, and a 70-minute stadium tour.(我们的教育套餐包括50分钟的互动式充实工作坊和70分钟的体育场之旅)”可知,Tour B和Tour D都提供70分钟的球场之旅。故选C项。
根据文中第一段“For more detailed information, click here to read our FAQs. 故选A项。
4.D 5.C 6.B 7.D
通读全文,尤其是第一段中的“Social networking sites have become extensions(延伸)... view your online activities and conversations with friends?”
②定,根据关键词定位到第二段中的“However, more and more parents...educate themselves about social networking sites” (然而,越来越多的父母开始意识到社交网络在他们生活中有多重要。
②定,根据关键词定位到第四段中的“On the other hand if you do accept, then you could have a sense of being watched and no longer feel free to communicate the way you did before”(另一方面,如果你接受了,那么你可能会有一种被监视的感觉,并且不再像以前那样自由地交流)可知,如果孩子接受了父母加好友的请求,他们会有被监视的感觉。
根据画线词的上文 “On the one hand we don’t want to ‘refuse’ their request”(一方面,我们不想“拒绝”他们的请求)和下文“might hurt their feelings or make them feel you have something to hide”(可能会伤害他们的感情,或者让他们觉得你有所隐瞒)可推知,能让父母觉得感情被伤害,或孩子有所隐瞒的,应该是孩子拒绝他们的好友请求,因此that指代的是上文中孩子的拒绝。故选D项。
8.C 9.D 10.A 11.B
根据第一段“Mine was red with Mickey Mouse and it carried all of my primary school books. Years later, I still remember it as a sign of happy school days and childhood”可知,作者的第一个背包是红色的,上面有米老鼠,装着小学的所有书,多年后作者仍然把它当作快乐校园时光和童年的象征。
③比,分析“But some seniors find a fun way to hold onto childhood a little longer by wearing childish backpacks to school(更长时间地抓住童年→保持与童年的联系)”可知,D项切题。
③比分析“Seniors are showing off their new backpacks on TikTok, making commentators(评论者)think of their school days and wish they would have kept their SpongeBobor Disney Princess backpack”可知,评论者看到高中生在TikTok上炫耀他们的新背包,会想起自己的学生时代,并且希望自己也能保留着海绵宝宝或迪士尼公主的背包。
根据画线词所在句及前一句“Back in kindergarten, whoever had the same sweater or same shoes would become best friends”可知,在幼儿园时,有相同毛衣或鞋子的人会成为最好的朋友,现在看到有人背着有相同卡通人物的背包,那种感觉又回来了。
12.C 13.D 14.B 15.A
根据文章第二段“This phenomenon can be seen on most college campuses. For example, at Dartmouth there was a section of the main library that was open twenty-four hours a day, and the students I used to see there late at night crowded in groups, drinking coffee, were definitely pseudo-working. The roommate who flips through her chemistry notes on the couch while watching TV is pseudo-working. C项“Jack spends a long time in the library on his essay while listening to music.
根据文章第四段“The bigger problem here is that most students don’t even realize that they’re pseudo-working. To them pseudo-working is work—it’s how they’ve always done it, and it’s how all of their friends do it. It never crosses their mind that there might be a better way. Straight-A students, on the other hand, know all about pseudo-working. D项“they are unaware of their pseudo- working (他们没有意识到他们的伪工作) ” 与原文信息相符。
根据文章第五段“In fact, the most important skill in becoming a straight-A student is the ability to get work done quickly and with a minimum of wasted effort. 根据划线词前面的内容 “Some cognitive (认知) science research concludes that about fifty minutes (一些认知科学研究得出结论,大约50分钟……)
根据文章第五段“So how do these students achieve this goal? To understand their secret to success, consider the following simple formula: work accomplished= time spent× intensity of focus Therefore, to accomplish something by pseudo- working, you need to spend a lot of time. The straight-A approach on the other hand, increases intensity in order to use less time. A项“Concentration plays a key role in study. 故选 A。

When we’re in trouble, we always turn to our parents for help. But would you like them to hear the conversations you have with your friends on the school playground? Social networking sites have become extensions(延伸)of the school hallways, so would you add your parents as “friends” and allow them to view your online activities and conversations with friends?
In the past the generation gap included a technology gap, where children were up to date with the latest technology and parents were left behind, content to continue their day-to-day lives as they always had because they had no need to know more about technology. However, more and more parents are beginning to realize just how important social networks are in their lives. This realization makes many parents educate themselves about social networking sites.
These days many people are attracted to social networking sites because they can choose who they have around them, and there’s also a certain amount of control over privacy(隐私) that we don’t get in real life. Sometimes we feel that privacy is violated(侵犯)when we must accept a “friend” request(要求,请求)from a parent or family member.
It’s a difficult choice whether or not to allow a parent to become a part of our online lives. On the one hand we don’t want to “refuse” their request because that might hurt their feelings or make them feel you have something to hide. On the other hand if you do accept, then you could have a sense of being watched and no longer feel free to communicate the way you did before.
A recent survey suggested that parents shouldn’t take it personally if their children refuse their requests. When a teenager refuses a parent’s friend request, it doesn’t necessarily mean that he or she is hiding something, but it means that he or she wants to be independent.
Perhaps talking with parents and explaining would help soften the blow if you do choose not to add them to your friend list.
4.What is the passage mainly about?
A. Privacy online. B. Social networks. C.The generation gap. D.Parents’ friend requests.
5. What can we infer from paragraph 2?
A. Parents feel secure about their privacy online.
B. Social networks successfully fill the generation gap.
C. Parents have realized the importance of social networks.
D. Social networks offer a chance for parents to communicate.
6. What may be the reason for teenagers to refuse a parent’s friend request?
A.They hide something from their parents.
B.They are unwilling to be watched by parents.
C. Their parents have a passive influence on them.
D.Their parents tend to fall behind in technology.
7. What does the underlined word “that” in paragraph 4 refer to?
A.The online life. B. The difficult choice.
C. The parents’ request. D. The teenagers’ refusal.
C
Remember your first ever day of school: how you straightened out your school clothes, made sure your mom prepared your favorite lunch and your backpack? Do you remember your first backpack? Mine was red with Mickey Mouse and it carried all of my primary school books. Years later, I still remember it as a sign of happy school days and childhood. Unluckily, years fly by and it’s time for exams and preparing for college. But some seniors find a fun way to hold onto childhood a little longer by wearing childish backpacks to school. This senior backpack challenge has quickly become a hit on TikTok.
Usually, a lot of teenagers cannot wait to grow up; they long for independence and want to appear grown-up. But things seem to be changing, as a lot of high school seniors are dropping the cool kid look and choosing a childish style. As a lot of students are heading back to school, most of them are shopping for school supplies and new backpacks to carry them in. Instead of fashionable ones, they are choosing the ones showing their favorite childhood characters: Backyardigans, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Spider-Man-you name it.
This trend is taking the internet by storm. A quick search of “senior backpacks” shows a lot of colorful and fun small-sized bags. Seniors are showing off their new backpacks on TikTok, making commentators(评论者) think of their school days and wish they would have kept their SpongeBob or Disney Princess backpack. A few commentators note that this trend isn’t new, and a lot of seniors have been wearing childish backpacks for years. Only in recent years has this become a trend.
The senior backpack trend brought back a good feeling of longing for simpler days. Back in kindergarten, whoever had the same sweater or same shoes would become best friends. Now, years later, seeing someone wearing a backpack with the same cartoon characters is bringing that feeling back to us.
8.What can we learn about the author from the first paragraph?
A. The author liked wearing school uniforms.
B. The author’s mom often made unhealthy lunches.
C. The author had a special feeling about his first backpack.
D. The author always felt stressed during his primary school days
9.Why do some seniors wear childish backpacks to school?
A. To follow online influencers’ footsteps.
B. To attract the attention of their classmates.
C. To express their wish for personal freedom.
D. To keep their connection to childhood alive.
10. What is commentators’ attitude toward the senior backpack tend?
A. Supportive. B. Doubtful. C. Anxious. D. Curious.
11. What does the underlined part “that feeling” in the last paragraph refer to?
A. A feeling of sadness. B.A sense of closeness.
C. A feeling of uncertainty. D.A sense of achievement.
D
Jason, a straight-A student from the University of Pennsylvania, uses the term “pseudo-working” to describe how many of us study. The pseudo-worker looks and feels like someone who is working hard-he or she spends a long time in the library and is not afraid to push on late into the night—but, because of a lack of focus and concentration, he or she doesn’t actually accomplish much.
This phenomenon can be seen on most college campuses. For example, at Dartmouth there was a section of the main library that was open twenty-four hours a day, and the students I used to see there late at night crowded in groups, drinking coffee, were definitely pseudo-working. The roommate who flips through (快速翻转) her chemistry notes on the couch while watching TV is pseudo-working.
By placing themselves in distracting environments and insisting on working long hours, these students are damaging their brain’s ability to think clearly and efficiently accomplish the task at hand. In the end they get half the results with twice the effort.
The bigger problem here is that most students don’t even realize that they’re pseudo-working. To them pseudo-working is work-it’s how they’ve always done it, and it’s how all of their friends do it. It never crosses their mind that there might be a better way. Straight-A students, on the other hand, know all about pseudo-working. They fear it. It not only wastes time, but it’s also mentally tiring.
In fact, the most important skill in becoming a straight-A student is the ability to get work done quickly and with a minimum of wasted effort. Some cognitive (认知) science research concludes that about fifty minutes is the optimal learning period to maximize the material integrated per time unit. So how do these students achieve this goal? To understand their secret to success, consider the following simple formula (公式) : work accomplished = time spent×intensity of focus.
Pseudo-working features a very low intensity of focus. Therefore, to accomplish something by pseudo-working, you need to spend a lot of time. The straight-A approach on the other hand, increases intensity in order to use less time.

C. they have got used to their study approach
D. they are unaware of their pseudo-working
