M: Nursena Burus, a 19-year-old from Türkiye, has developed a taste for Chinese culture thanks to its cuisine and her travels around the country. Burus’ sister, who studied at China’s Xiamen University, encouraged Burus to come and explore China. “My friends thought learning Chinese was too difficult, but my sister showed me pictures of her life in China — her friends, festivals and food,” Burus said. “I saw it as more than just a place to study. It looked more like an adventure.” Burus arrived in China in February 2024, right before the Chinese New Year, and quickly experienced the lively festive atmosphere. “Everywhere I went, the streets were filled with red. It was a new experience for me,” she said. After settling into Tianjin University, Burus noticed that the usually busy campus was almost empty at the Spring Festival. “It reminds me of the Ramadan Feast in Türkiye when we return to our hometowns to celebrate with family. I love how both cultures value family gatherings during important holidays,” Burus said. As classes began in March, Burus quickly adapted to learning and living at Tianjin University. Her best Chinese friend Meiqi taught her how to use chopsticks and introduced her to Tianjin street food. One of Burus’ most special memories was celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival in 2024. That day happened to be her birthday, and she learned how to make zongzi with her classmates. Now, Burus feels that China has become a second home where she has made lifelong friends and experienced the beauty of its culture.
第二部分 阅读(共两节,满分50分)
第一节(共15小题;每小题2.5分,满分37.5分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。
A
Still seeking a destination for your holiday? We want to inform you of four best places that are probably a mere walk away from your home.
Highlands
This Scottish destination, only accessible on foot or by boat, is Britain’s last wilderness. Over a week, you’ll hike into the Black Hills, cross the peninsula north to south and set sail for hikes on Skye, Rum and Eigg. Finish each day at a beach-side lodge (小屋) with dinner at the award-winning restaurant next door.
Snowdonia
The Snowdonia Way, the only low-level long-distance route, was only created in 2017, and remains unnoticed on the ground. Join the new guided walking trip and you won’t need to concentrate on directions, just the fine views as you pass falls, forests, riversides and Roman roads.
Hadrian’s Wall
Walking along Hadrian’s Wall is like travelling back in time — and even more so if you do it in expert companion. Andante’s hike along the ancient barrier is accompanied by a historian every step of the way, who will point out every Roman road, fort, milecastle and inscription, and tell you all about Hadrian’s tactics and Roman daily life.
Dorset
The Isle of Purbeck is ideal for families: the walking is relatively gentle; the beaches are glorious; the range of other attractions varied; and the buses handy, if little legs get tired. Over a few days, mix rambling the coast and hills (routes are around five or six miles) with steam train rides and sea swims, playing knights at ruined Corfe Castle and fossil-hunting at Kimmeridge Bay.
21.What do we know about Highlands?
A.It is very modern. B.It is a guided trip.
C.It can be reached by bus. D.It provides quality dinner.
22.Which of the following is the best choice for families?

Many travelers have toyed with the idea of visiting each national park, but the Goldsteins from Charlotte, North Carolina, made it a reality before their two kids, Luke and Winston, turned 18. They spent six years completing their journey. Dad Bill explained that every school break, they would try to visit another park. Along the way, the family made some sacrifices (牺牲): from eating bread out of a cooler in the back of the car to staying in economical accommodations.
Bill credits his wife, Alisa, with managing the budget (预算) and keeping costs down. Her advice for others starting their own national park adventures is to begin with parks that are nearby and gradually explore farther. The Goldsteins often visited several parks on one trip, including 11 parks during the summer after their first visit to Yosemite.
The family didn’t need fancy equipment— just the basics like sun protection, first aid, and plenty of water. One of the most dangerous things they faced was dehydration (脱水). Luke remembered running out of water 10 miles from the end of a hike at Theodore Roosevelt National Park. They had to depend on patience, faith, and determination to make it back.
A key part of their experience was the Junior ranger program, which is available at nearly every national park. Kids are invited to complete a list of educational activities to earn a Junior ranger badge (护林员徽章), which helps them connect with and understand the park.
Initially (起初), Luke thought being without phone service and away from friends was the worst part. He often complained about tough hikes. But looking back, he realized how the journey shaped him, making him more responsible and appreciative of both his family and nature.
Today, the Goldsteins continue visiting national parks, which continue to teach them the value of determination, family connections, and appreciation of the natural world.
24.What advice does Alisa Goldstein offer about national park visits?
A.Plan one park at a time.
B.Prepare ready-to-eat food.
C.Seek expert financial advice.
D.Start from nearby to distant parks.
25.What is the aim of the Junior ranger program?
A.To help kids build character.
B.To teach kids about the park.
C.To train kids to be park rangers.
D.To help kids map hiking routes.
26.How did Luke’s attitude to the trips change over time?
A.From being excited to bored.
B.From being anxious to angry.
C.From being resistant to grateful.
D.From being stressed to confident.
27.What might be a suitable title for the text?
A.Park by Park: A Family’s Big Adventure
B.Just Made It: Surviving the Great Outdoors
C.Junior Rangers: Earning Badges and Memories
D.The Toughest Challenge: A Hiker’s Willpower
【答案】24.D 25.B 26.C 27.A

Researchers at EPFL’s CREATE Lab, led by Josie Hughes, developed GOAT — Good Over All Territories (地形) — a robot that changes shape to navigate diverse environments. This innovation redefines robotic movement and control.
Thanks to its flexible yet durable design, GOAT can transform on the fly between a flat rover (探测车) shape and a ball shape as it moves. This allows it to switch between driving, rolling, and even swimming, all while consuming less energy. “While most robots compute the shortest path from A to B, GOAT considers the travel mode as well as the path to be taken,” Hughes explains.
The team designed their robot inspired by animals like spiders, kangaroos and octopuses. The team’s bio-inspired approach led to a design that is highly adaptable, meaning it adjusts to its environment instead of staying rigid. This allows GOAT to change shape.
Built from inexpensive materials, the robot’s simple frame consists of two flexible fiberglass rods that cross each other, along with four motorized wheels without outer rings. Two cables, powered by winches (绞盘), adjust the frame’s shape, pulling it tightly into a ball. The battery, onboard computer, and sensors are placed in the center of the frame, where they are well protected in ball mode — much as a hedgehog (刺猬) protects its underbelly.
CREATE Lab PhD student Max Polzin explains that with only a satellite navigation system and a device for measuring the robot’s own position, GOAT carries no cameras onboard: it simply does not need to know exactly what lies in its path. It can draw on the environment, even with very limited knowledge of it, to find the best path: the path of least resistance.
“Robots like GOAT could be sent quickly into unknown areas, equipped with simple sensing and planning systems that allow them to turn environmental challenges into computational advantages,” Hughes says. “The next generation of compliant robots might even surpass nature’s versatility (多才多艺).”

In a groundbreaking development for long-duration spaceflight, China’s Tiangong space station has introduced a specialized oven, enabling astronauts to enjoy hot, freshly prepared meals like never before. This innovation marks a significant step beyond the traditional pre-packaged space food, focusing on both the nutritional and psychological well-being of crew members.
The newly delivered oven, which functions similarly to an air fryer, is designed specifically for the microgravity environment. In a released video, astronauts are seen securing chicken wings in a special grill cage and placing it into a small compartment. The device provides consistent and smokeless baking without overloading the station’s power grid (电网)—a critical consideration for orbital outposts like Tiangong and the International Space Station (ISS) that rely on strict fire safety agreements. The “sweet spot” for cooking chicken wings was found to be 28 minutes under these unique conditions.
This achievement has been compared to a 2019 experiment on the International Space Station (ISS), where astronauts used a Zero G oven to bake cookies. While that test demonstrated that baking in space takes longer than on Earth, China’s oven is not a temporary experiment. It has been fully integrated into Tiangong’s systems and certified for up to 500 uses, indicating its role as a permanent facility aimed at improving the quality of life in space.
Experts like Kang Guohua, a professor of aerospace engineering, emphasize that comforts such as hot meals are vital for keeping astronauts psychologically “grounded” during extended missions. The ability to prepare familiar and flavorful food not only enhances morale (士气) but also supports crew cohesion and performance.
The introduction of this oven reflects China’s broader advancement in sustainable space habitation, where technology meets human needs in an extreme environment. It reflects a shift in space station design from mere survival to decent living, where even a simple “space BBQ” can symbolize comfort, innovation, and a touch of home far above Earth.
32.Why is it particularly important that the oven operates without producing smoke?
A.Smoke affects food taste. B.Smoke disturbs experiments.
C.Fire safety agreements exist. D.Astronauts are untrained for smoke.
33.What does the comparison between China’s oven and the 2019 ISS cookie-baking experiment imply?
A.China’s oven can be permanent B.Both studied microgravity’s effect.
C.China’s technology is far more advanced. D.The ISS oven aimed for long-term use but failed.
34.According to the passage, what is a key function of the oven besides cooking?
A.It provides backup power. B.It provides mental comfort.
C.It tests plant growth in space. D.It recycles water from cooking.
35.What is the main idea of the passage?
A.The ISS is falling behind in culinary technology.
B.Chinese astronauts are the first to barbecue in space.
C.Safety must be prioritized over comfort in food preparation.
D.An oven improves technology and living comfort in space.

第二节(满分25分)
67. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
My name is Mildred Hondorf. I am a former elementary school music teacher from Des Moines, Iowa. Robby was 11 years old when his mother (a single mom) dropped him off for his first piano lesson. Actually, I prefer that students (especially boys!) begin at an earlier age, which I explained to Robby. But Robby said that it had always been his mother’s dream to hear him play the piano. So I took him as a student. Over the months, he tried and tried, but it seemed hopeless. He just did not have any inborn ability.
Then one day, Robby stopped coming to our lessons. I thought about calling him but assumed, because of his lack of ability, that he had decided to pursue something else. I also was glad that he stopped coming. He was a bad advertisement for my teaching!
Several weeks later, I mailed to the student’s homes a flyer on the upcoming recital (音乐演奏会). To my surprise Robby (who received a flyer) asked me if he could be in the recital. I told him that the recital was for current pupils and because he had dropped out, he really did not qualify. He said that his mom had been sick and unable to take him to piano lessons but he was still practicing. “Miss Hondorf... I’ve just got to play!” he insisted.
I don’t know what led me to allow him to play in the recital. Maybe it was his persistence or maybe it was something inside of me saying that it would be alright.
The night for the recital came. The high school gym was packed with parents, friends and relatives. I put Robby up last in the program before I was to come up and thank all the students and play a finishing piece. I thought that any damage he would do would come at the end of the program and I could always save his poor performance through my “curtain closer”.
Well, the recital went smoothly as expected. The students had been practicing and it showed.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150个左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题纸的相应位置作答。

【答案】
Then Robby came up on stage, and he pulled out the piano bench and began. His fingers were light and danced happily on the keys, which seemed as if elves were dancing. Never had I heard the music played so well by someone of his age! After six and a half minutes, he ended his performance. There was just a total silence in the hall at first, and it seemed that the audience was still lost in the piece. Then, all jumped to their feet in wild applause. They madly waved their arms, cheering and whistling.
Moved in tears, I ran up on stage and put my arms around Robby in joy. “ Robby, you are so great! I’ve never heard you play like that! How’d you do it?” Through the microphone Robby explained: “Well, you have known my mother was ill. She told me that my playing was her best medicine. The better I played, the sooner she would recover. So, I practised harder and harder. I just want tonight’s play special and she could hear my performance and give a full recovery.” After I heard this, my eyes welled up with tears again.

A.Snowdonia. B.Dorset. C.Hadrian’s Wall. D.Highlands.
23.What do the four destinations have in common to the target readers?
A.They are very near. B.They are very far.
C.They are very cheap. D.They are very expensive.
B
C
28.What is the key feature of GOAT?
A.Its ability to change shape. B.Its ability to fly over obstacles.
C.Its ability to carry heavy items. D.Its ability to choose the shortest route.
29.Which is critical to GOAT’s innovative ability?
A.The fiberglass rods. B.The motorized wheels.
C.The onboard computer. D.The two winch-driven cables.
30.Why is a hedgehog mentioned?
A.To explain GOAT’s energy-saving feature. B.To describe GOAT’s appearance in ball mode.
C.To illustrate GOAT’s self-protection in ball mode. D.To compare GOAT’s speed with that of a hedgehog.
31.What is the author’s main purpose in writing the text?
A.To explain a new robot’s working principles. B.To list the advantages of bio-inspired robots.
C.To show the value of simple designs in robotics. D.To introduce a pioneering self-adapting robot design.
D

Travel is enriching yet environmentally costly—plastics are a key contributor. Committing to plastic-free travel habits cuts your environmental impact while exploring the world.
Ideally, packing snacks for your travels helps save money and reduce waste. 36 To minimize the impact, consider plastic-free snack alternatives—like nuts, dried fruits, or homemade sandwiches—and pack them in reusable containers. You can also visit local markets for fresh, unpackaged snacks.
Bringing a filtered water bottle (滤水壶) is a game-changer for reducing plastic waste. You can refill it from any water source thanks to its built-in filter, eliminating the need for plastic bottles. By carrying one, you’re not only reducing plastic waste but saving money on bottled water purchases. 37
Shampoo bars (洗发皂) are an excellent plastic-free alternative that eliminates the need for liquid shampoo bottles. Their solid form makes them ideal for carry-on luggage and you can store one in a wooden container. 38 This simple step prevents it from softening.
Many of you already bring reusable bags to the grocery store. 39 Simply extend it to your travels by packing one for souvenirs. This makes it easy to decline plastic bags, making your souvenir shopping a positive experience for the environment.
40 When planning your travel, look for those that provide water refill stations to support your use of reusable bottles. Also, choose properties that have replaced single-use plastics with alternatives like bamboo toothbrushes and paper straws (吸管).
By adopting eco-friendly practices, you’ll not only reduce your plastic footprint but also inspire fellow travelers to do the same.
A.You can take the habit a step further.
B.Remember to let it air dry completely after use.
C.It’s a win-win for your wallet and the environment.
D.Consciously avoiding plastic products goes a long way.
E.Besides, you never have to question the safety of the water.
F.Prioritize hotels that have adopted plastic reduction initiatives.
G.However, the reality is that many ready-made options are plastic-wrapped.

“Musab, I am sending you New Year greetings from the peak of the world!” This message, 56 I received at the start of 2025, ranks among my favorite New Year greetings because it came from a friend I 57 (make) in Xizang during a cultural trip last year. It reminded me of the 58 (invite) landscapes and, more importantly, the residents’ warmth made my time there unforgettable.
I often dreamed of dancing atop the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau — the “roof of the world”. This dream became 59 reality when MUC (Minzu University of China) co-organized a cultural trip with Minzu Huabao, a magazine documenting China's ethnic minority culture, offering a valuable opportunity 60 (engage) with the culture I had come to admire from afar.
61 arrival in Lhasa, the challenge of adapting to the high altitude at over 3,000 metres was frightening. 62 (equip) with advice and medicine recommended by friends, alongside support from the regional government, I prepared myself for the physical changes. Despite my initial concerns, the overwhelming reaction I experienced was not physical discomfort but rather a profound emotional response to the 63 (generous) of Xizang people.
Light-hearted yet 64 (spiritual) deep lifestyles of locals was touching, enhancing my connection to the region. This was reflected not just in their actions but also in their cuisine. The tastes of dishes like fresh, creamy butter 65 the discovery of butter tea were incredibly revealing.

第二节(满分25分)
67.
