This lesson is based on the new general senior high school curriculum standards,our classroom teaching should be aimed to help students cultivate their English subject core competences,which include language ability, learning ability, thinking quality and cultural awareness.And we need to integrate 6 components of the curriculum into our class by learning and understanding, applying and practicing, transferring and creating.

Analysis of the Teaching Material
.This teaching material is taken from Book 1 Unit 4 Reading.This unit introduces and develops the theme of looking good ,feeling good.
.In this section, students will read a newspaper article about a teenager fainted after skipping meals.The news report aims to remind teenagers what true beauty is and how to lost weight properly and healthily . And in this section,students will know the structure of news report.
学情分析:
Analysis of Students
As students from Senior one, they are equipped with certain basic skills like listening, speaking, reading and writing. And they have a vocabulary of about 1500-2000 words. They can simply express ideas about familiar topics they heard and learned. Students show a sustained interest in and enjoyment of learning English,and they can use simple English to express ideas and exchange information.They are active and cooperative. But on the whole, the students need more training in basic skills and practice of problem-solving ability.
