have trouble doing sth.
根据“My grandmother forgot a fish in the oven and burnt...” 故选A。
tell sb. to do sth.
根据“now”可知,句子时态用现在进行时,其结构为“am/is/are+动词的现在分词”,主语“we”是第一人称复数,be动词用are,wait的现在分词是waiting。故选D。
根据上文“My parents told Grandfather...us at the station.”
根据“I then started thinking about what I...do to help my grandparents improve their memory.”
根据“...my memory is good, I still make a list of things I need to bring to school the next day before I go to bed.” 故选A。
根据“It is a good habit...me from forgetting anything.” It is a good habit to do sth.“做某事是一个好习惯”,所以此处应该用动词不定式形式。故选B。
with和……一起;to到;for为了;of……的。share sth. with sb. 故选A。
根据“I talked with the school nurse about my grandparents’ memory...told me that eating fish could improve memory.”
根据“I wrote some advice on a piece of paper...gave it to my grandparents.” 故选A。
improves第三人称单数形式;have improved现在完成时;is improving现在进行时;was improved一般过去时的被动语态。根据“Since my grandparents began following my suggestions”可知,句子时态用现在完成时,其结构为“have/has+动词的过去分词”,主语“they”是复数,助动词应用have,improve的过去分词是improved。

A
When I was young, my father took me outside to see the stars. Once we saw a comet (彗星)! It was the first comet I’d seen but wasn’t the last.
My name is Caroline Herschel. I was born in Hanover, Germany in 1750. When I was 22, I moved to England to stay with my older brother, William. He was a musician and he offered me singing lessons. I helped him with housework in return. I practiced hard and soon started singing at his concerts.
Life changed when William became interested in astronomy. He read about space late into the night. Breakfast often turned into a lesson about stars. I learned a lot from him. And we even started working together on a big project: building telescopes—the special tools for seeing faraway things.
To make the perfect mirrors for our telescopes, we heated metals and shaped them using special molds (模具). These molds were made from strange things, like dry horse waste. I had to break it into small bits. It was dirty work, but I didn’t mind. Someone had to do it.
Making the mirrors smooth was very difficult. William invented a machine to help, but he still had to work without stopping for hours once he began. He couldn’t even stop to eat, so I fed him and read stories to keep him happy and relaxed.
In 1781, William discovered something fantastic—a new planet! King George was so glad that he made William his astronomer. William made a telescope just for me. And I was able to search the sky along with him.
On August 1, 1786, I found something special too—a comet! I watched it carefully for one more night and discovered it was real. Now everyone is talking about my comet. They call it the Lady’s Comet.
This is the first comet I’ve ever discovered, but I don’t think it will be the last.
Historical Note: After Caroline discovered her first comet, King George paid her to be William’s assistant (助手). She was one of the first women astronomers to be paid for her work. She went on to find seven more comets herself between 1786 and 1797.
26.Why did Caroline move to England?
A.To live with her brother. B.To study at a music school.
C.To sing at famous concerts. D.To look after a sick relative.
27.In what order did the following happen in Caroline’s life?
a. She discovered her first comet. b. Her brother built a telescope for her.
c. Her brother became interested in space. d. She built telescopes together with her brother.
e. She got paid by King George to help with her brother’s work.
A.c-d-b-a-e B.c-d-e-b-a C.c-b-d-a-e D.c-b-a-e-d
28.How many comets did Caroline discover by herself?
A.One. B.Seven. C.Eight. D.Nine.
29.Which of the following best describes Caroline and William’s working relationship?
A.Caroline gave William more help. B.Caroline had to do all the dirty work.
C.William took care of most of the work. D.They were important to each other’s success.

①Many people love their pets like family. When they go to school or on vacation, they often worry about their furry friends at home. Is my dog hungry? Is my cat feeling bad? This is a common anxiety (焦虑) for pet owners. But now, technology (科技) has a new answer: smart pet products. These special tools are changing how people take care of their pets.
②What can these smart products do? Imagine you are at school. With a smart camera, you can see your cat playing in the living room on your phone. A smart feeder can give your dog food at the same time every day, so it never gets too hungry. There are even self-cleaning (自我清洁的) litter boxes that do the dirty work for you. These tools sound like a dream for many pet owners. They can save a lot of time and make people feel more relaxed when they are away from home.
③However, these tools are not always perfect. Sometimes, they can make big mistakes. One pet owner shared a scary story. He was on a business trip, and the smart feeder for his dog suddenly stopped working. His poor dog had no food all day. ▲ A machine that is meant to help can sometimes create a bigger problem or even be unsafe. So, while these tools are helpful, we need to be careful with them.
④In short, pet owners should use them very carefully. Smart pet products are a very new and interesting trend (趋势). They offer an easy way to care for our animal friends. For busy owners, they can be a fantastic help. But it is important to remember that they are just machines. Pet owners should choose them very carefully and always put their pet’s safety and happiness first.

Nowadays, more and more Chinese people go abroad to study, and they face many challenges. Because life abroad is so different from China, they need to get used to it.
The first challenge is diet (饮食), because every country eats differently. As for breakfast, most westerners enjoy a simple breakfast such as bread, eggs, bacon, orange juice or coffee. However, breakfast in China is usually very delicious, and people in the morning eat more intense flavors, such as porridge, steamed buns and noodles. Many people go out for breakfast on their way to work or school. Street vendors open their doors early and sell food to students passing by or people going to work—often at very low prices.
After that is lunch and dinner. In China, people eat together, so there are many dishes. In a foreign country, each eats his own food. And there are big differences in the cooking process. Westerners usually only cook, fry and roast, while Chinese people use more cooking methods, such as steaming, stewing, frying and drying. Chinese usually fry food in animal or peanut oil. Westerners use butter, sunflower oil and olive oil. It’s a very big challenge for young people.
This allows people to learn to accept different foods and to get used to them. This allows them not to be picky (挑剔的) about what they eat, but to eat everything. They can also exercise their ability to cook.
In China, students have classes very early every day. Many studies begin at six o’clock. In foreign countries, classes are usually at eight or nine. And school ends at three in the afternoon, so foreign students have more time to do their own thing. They can choose their own interests, such as football, soccer and tennis. They can be very relaxed.
34.What is the difference between Chinese and westerns in eating breakfast?
A.Westerners like making their breakfast simple.
B.Chinese people usually have a quicker breakfast.
C.Chinese people prefer going out for breakfast.
D.Westerners usually have breakfast at home.
35.What can the different diets encourage Chinese people abroad to do?
A.To put their food to good use. B.To cook their own food.
C.To better manage their eating time. D.To spread Chinese food.
36.Why do foreign students feel more relaxed after school?
A.They have less homework. B.They have more hobbies.
C.They have shorter school time. D.They have less stress.
37.What does the passage mainly tell us?
A.Advice on studying abroad. B.Different school lives.
C.Challenges of studying abroad. D.Advantages of studying abroad.

That’s because China has the longest mobile phone numbers in the world. Why is that? 41 Each part has a different meaning. The first three numbers tell you which mobile phone service provider you are using. For example, “135-” is for China Mobile and “155-” is for China Unicom. The fourth to the seventh digits tell you which area the number is recorded in. 42
The main reason for using 11 digits is that we have a large population. 43 But as our population grew, there were not enough numbers for us to use. So we began to use 11 digits starting from 1999.
11 digits can be used to make tens of billions of mobile phone numbers. That’s enough for each person to have seven or eight phone numbers to use in China. 44 Usually, the service provider will reuse a canceled number after three to six months. If you call a number that you haven’t contacted (联络) for a long time, you may find that its owner has changed.
Besides China, Britain and Japan also use 11-digit mobile phone numbers. But their numbers always start with “0”. 45 Countries like the United States, Australia and India use phone numbers with 10 digits, while Canada’s mobile phone numbers are also 10 digits long, the same as those in the United States.
A.We once had 10 digits.
B.The 11 digits can be divided into three parts.
C.Also, mobile phone numbers can be recycled.
D.And the last four digits are random (随机的).
E.So they cannot create as many numbers as we can.
【答案】41.B 42.D 43.A 44.C 45.E
41.根据“Each part has a different meaning. The first three numbers...The fourth to the seventh digits...”
42.根据“The first three numbers...The fourth to the seventh digits...”
43.根据“But as our population grew, there were not enough numbers for us to use. So we began to use 11 digits starting from 1999.” 故选A。
44.根据“Usually, the service provider will reuse a canceled number after three to six months.”
45.根据“But their numbers always start with ‘0’.”

Firecrackers, known as Baozhu in Chinese have been used for centuries in many celebrations. They are an important part of Chinese folk culture.
Firecrackers have experienced a long period of improvement. In ancient China, firecrackers were made from bamboo. That’s because the bamboo bangs (爆炸) loudly when it is burnt. In the Tang Dynasty, Li Tian was the first person to i 46 firecrackers by filling bamboo with powder to make louder bangs, which won him the name of “Chinese Father of Fireworks. Then by the Song Dynasty, bamboo was replaced by paper. And the firecrackers were c 47 together, which allowed for even louder and longer-lasting bangs.
Ancient people used firecrackers to scare away bad spirits with their loud sounds. And they believed that lighting firecrackers would bring them good l 48 in the coming new year.
Nowadays, the use of firecrackers is still a tradition during many Chinese festivals. One of the main reasons is that firecrackers provide people with joyful sounds. They are still seen as a s 49 of joy and happiness in the modern times. It’s likely that Chinese people will always keep this tradition a 50 .
46.(i)nvent 47. (c)onnected 48.(l)uck 49.(s)ymbol 50.(a)live
根据“the first person to…firecrackers”及首字母,此处表示发明鞭炮,不定式符号to后接动词原形。 故填(i)nvent。
根据 “the firecrackers were…together, which allowed for even louder and longer-lasting bangs” 以及首字母提示,这里是说把鞭炮连接在一起,这样爆炸的时候声音会更响、持续时间更长,connect 表示 “连接”,本句是被动语态,结构为 be + 动词的过去分词,所以填 connected。
根据“bring them good…”
根据“a…of joy and happiness”可知,此处表示欢乐和幸福的象征,结合首字母,symbol“象征”符合语境,故填(s)ymbol。
根据“keep this tradition…”
Jane Goodall in protecting the chimpanzees.
【答案】 played an important role
It is rude to your classmates.
【答案】 make fun of
【详解】make fun of“取笑”,动词短语,在“it is + 形容词 + to do sth.” 故填make;fun;of。
, her mother advises her to play sports staying at home.
In addition instead of
故填In;addition;instead;of。
They to wait for the police to save them at that time.
【答案】 had no choice but
【详解】have no choice but to do sth.
, we must try our best to explore ourselves.
Last but not least

Dear Mike,
During our English Week, we had a debate on “Is memory the key factor in English learning?” I’m writing to share my unforgettable experience with you.
Some students thought a good memory helps memorize numerous words, which is essential for English learning. However, others believed learning methods are more important. They said proper ways like watching English movies and reading English stories can improve English comprehensively.
In my opinion, both memory and methods are crucial. Memory helps us store knowledge, while methods guide us to use it effectively. Only by combining them can we truly master English.
I had a good time in the English week. What do you think about it? I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Li Hua

B.It can always do the right things.
C.This shows that technology can sometimes cause problems.
D.That is to say, it can take care of our pets perfectly.
33.What’s the structure of this passage?
A. B. C. D.

Have you ever counted the number of digits (数字) in your mobile phone number? Your number has 11 digits. You may sometimes find it hard to remember your number.

D.That is to say, it can take care of our pets perfectly.
33.What’s the structure of this passage?
A. B. C. D.

Dear Mike,
During our English Week, we had a debate on “Is memory the key factor in English learning?” I’m writing to share my unforgettable experience with you.
Best regards,
Li Hua
