The students are able to talk about what teenagers should and shouldn’t be allowed to do. 2. The students are able to express agreement and disagreement. 3. The students are able to know the importance of rules and obeying the rules. 教学重难点 教学重点: 1. The students will learn to use the structure should (not) be allowed to to talk about different rules for teenagers. 2. The students will finish different listening tasks and speaking activities. 教学难点: 1.The students don’t know how to use the the structure should (not) be allowed to to talk about different rules. 2. The students will have problems expressing their agreement and disagreement and explaining the reasons. 教学过程 Step 1: Greeting and introduction The teacher greets the students and shows them what they are going to learn today. The three learning objectives are also introduced in this step. Step 2: Lead-in ( free talk) The teacher asks the age of the students and comes to the conclusion that they are teenagers. The teacher makes the students brainstorm what teenagers are like. The teacher guides the students to talk about rules in their daily life because rules are important for their growth and shows three rules. The teacher wants to know whether the students agree with the rules or not and their ideas about what teenagers should be allowed to do. Step 3: Deal with 1a. The teacher asks students to read the statements in 1a. Circle A for agree and D for disagree. Then they will listen to some people’s opinions on the statements as examples. The teacher asks the students to find out what the statements have in common in structure and tells them they can use should(not) be allowed to to talk about their opinions. Step 4: Pre-listening of 1a The teacher asks the students to look at the picture and the conversation carefully. The students may find out the relationship between the two speakers and what they talk about. Step 5: While-listening of 1a(prediction) The teacher plays the recording and asks the students finish 1a. Later The teacher will check the answer. The teacher also redesigns the listening task by making the students listen again and listen for Anna’s and her mother’s reasons to their opinions. It can prepare the students for the post-listening activity. Step 6: Post-listening of 1b (pair work) The teacher shows an example conversation they should practice with their partners. One video is shown to make it clearer. Step 7: Pre-listening of 2a(prediction) The teacher asks the students to look at the picture and predict what the two girls may talk about. The teacher guides the students to pay attention to the boy in the picture and the time. Step 8: While-listening of 2a and 2b The teacher plays the recording and asks the students finish 1a. Later The teacher will check the answer. Step 9: Post-listening (Group work) The teacher provides a table. It includes the things they think teenagers should or should not be allowed to do. The students who they survey and their opinions. The students need to explain why they agree or disagree. Pictures and some words are shown to help them finish the survey. An example is also given in video. Step 10: Deal with 2d The teacher asks the students to find the rule in the museum. Later they should find out why the rule is made. Then the teacher draws the conclusion that rules are made to protect, not to limit, so we should obey the rules. Step 11: Summary The teacher summarizes what we learned today. Step 12: Homework.
