A
We all have those moments when bright ideas hit us, but not everyone can develop such moments into the fruits of creative thinking. While we believe creative thinking is the falling apple of Isaac Newton, one of the greatest scientists, we hardly notice that creative thinking is in fact a process.
Let’s look at what happened in 1666. Sitting in the garden, Newton watched an apple fall from a tree. He began to wonder if the same force that pulled the apple down also kept the moon circling (环绕) the earth. Newton believed it did. He called it “gravity (重力)”.
This story has become one of the most popular examples of “eureka” moments. But when we cheer for the great discovery, we shouldn’t forget the whole process of creative thinking.
Newton studied math for long to have a better understanding of the world. He always enjoyed finding new ways to solve problems. The falling apple was only the fruit of years of hard work before. It also started the train of thought that continued for the next twenty years.
Newton began to examine “gravity” carefully. He experimented. Then he studied the results and used what he learned to do new experiments. In 1687, the greatest scientific work ever came out.
The whole process of creative thinking works the same in our daily life.
In school, we prepare ourselves for the right moment. Once the moment comes, we will catch it and then keep on working in the years to come. It takes much to get the fruits of creative thinking, but the sweetest fruits will be ready for those who wait the longest.
46.Why could Isaac Newton discover the “gravity”?

C.In 1687, he began to write his greatest scientific work.
D.In 1666, he thought gravity kept the moon circling the earth.
50.What does the passage mainly tell us?
A.Careful watching makes really great work.
B.Catching the right moment is the key to the success.
C.Creative thinking is to those who are well-prepared.
D.Every bright idea can be developed into creative thinking.

One day, while his mother was out hunting, the grey cub found the way out of the cave. At first, he was afraid. But the need to know and understand was greater than his fear, so he went out. He soon discovered that the floor of the world was not flat like the floor of the cave. And he fell, screaming in fear.
But he soon sat up, and started walking and looking around him. He met a squirrel, and a woodpecker (啄木鸟), both of which moved away from him. So he learned that the world had things that stayed in one place, and other things that moved.
He had beginner’s luck when he fell into a ptarmigan’s (雷鸟的) nest. In the nest were seven chicks. He realized this was meat, like his mother gave him. So he ate them all. As he walked away from the nest, the mother ptarmigan attacked him. He fought back, biting her wing with his small teeth. He was excited and happy. He was fighting for meat, fighting to kill. It was what wolves did. He learnt another important lesson.
Then he left the ptarmigan free and rested. As he watched her, something rushed down from above him, picked up the ptarmigan and flew back up into the sky. It was an eagle.
He was learning. Live things were meat, but if they were big enough, live things could also hurt. It was better to eat small live things.
Later something small jumped in front of him, so he put his paw on it. It was a young weasel (鼬鼠). It made strange noises, and soon the mother weasel appeared. She jumped at his neck and bit him with sharp teeth. She wasn’t big, but he didn’t know how dangerous weasels were.

C
I started running half marathons when I was a teenager. A half marathon is 21 kilometres. I was willing to try a full marathon, but 42 kilometres is a long race and I prefer the shorter distance. I’m almost 70 now, so I’ve done them for nearly 50 years. I still get the same excitement during each race as I used to.
I used to run around 15 races every year 40 years ago. I got quite good at them. I think my personal best was around 1 hour 17 minutes, which was only ten minutes over the world record back then. These days I run about 5 races a year and my time is quite slow. At my age, I need a lot more preparation and my body doesn’t get well as quickly as before, but it’s well worth all the extra work.
There are two main reasons why I still run half marathons. Firstly, it means I’m keeping myself fit. My doctor told me that I was healthier than most people half my age! But I think the real reason I love the sport so much is the other people I meet. I get to know other runners and I’ve made many good friends over the years.
It takes me a lot of time to visit schools to get children interested in sports, especially running. I think it’s really important to do sports from an early age. This is because you are easier to keep doing as growing up. The kids are always interested and they ask me lots of questions. Many of them can’t believe that I’m the same age as their grandfathers. Sometimes I invite them to run a five-kilometre race with me, but not many of them can beat me!
56.What does the writer say about running according to the second paragraph?
A.He runs faster but his body hurts more.
B.He doesn’t like the experience as much as before.
C.He finds the world record was around 77 minutes back then.
D.He thinks it harder to prepare and needs more time between races.
57.How many kilometres did the writer run in a year when he was in his thirties?
A.315. B.210. C.105. D.630.
58.What does the writer enjoy most about races?
A.Having the same excitement. B.Breaking world records.
C.Making new friends. D.Showing he was still young.
59.Why does the writer visit schools?
A.To beat the kids by running. B.To encourage kids to do sports.
C.To show that old people can run fast. D.To teach the history of marathon.
60.What might the writer write in his diary according to the article?
A.“I’m training for a full marathon. I can’t wait to run 42 kilometres!”
B.“It’s helpful of my doctor to advise me to stop running half marathons.”
C.“I hope everyone can do sports from an early age and get interested in it.”
D.“I’m worrying about my next marathon because I run more slowly than before.”
D
Nowadays a large number of clothes are thrown away every year. Some may be a little old, but a lot of them are as good as new ones. France has come up with a new plan to encourage (鼓励) people to make their clothes last longer.
The French government will pay a “repair bonus (修补奖金)” to people who get their clothes repaired at special repair shops. The bonus makes people get back up to $27 of their repair costs. The government said the plan aims (旨在) to encourage those who carry out repairs and protect the environment (环境). The plan will be run by Refashion, an organization working hard to build a greener world.
About 700,000 tons of clothing is thrown away in France every year. Around two-thirds of this ends up in landfills. What’s more, the fashion industry (时尚行业) all over the world leads to between 8% and 10% of the world’s carbon emissions (碳排放) every year. The coming of fast fashion has made it worse. Fast fashion means buying cheap clothes to wear just a few times. It uses a lot of materials (材料) which are bad for the environment.
Refashion also plans to encourage people to buy fewer clothes, and to give away their unwanted clothes to those who need them. ________ Besides, a third of unwanted clothes can be made into something new.
61.What do we know from the first paragraph?
A.France plans to make longer clothes.
B.Only broken clothes are thrown away.
C.The need for clothes is growing larger.
D.Many clothes should not be thrown away.
62.What’s the goal of French government’s new plan?
A.To help the country save money.
B.To help cut environmental problem.
C.To encourage people to give away clothes.
D.To encourage people to repair all their clothes.
63.How much clothing is taken to landfills in France yearly?
A.About 100,000 tons. B.About 300,000 tons.
C.About 500,000 tons. D.About 700,000 tons.
64.What does the underlined word “It” in Paragraph 3 refer to?
A.Landfill. B.Fast fashion.
C.Carbon emission. D.Fashion industry.
65.Which sentence can be put in the “________”?
A.Some people are worried about nature.
B.People can sell those old clothes to the poor.
C.However, nobody knows who may need them.
D.In this way, over half of the clothes can be reused.

It is so difficult 86 people can hardly keep the original colour when the Terracotta Army meets the air. This made me feel like 87 (learn) more about how to protect them. It’s truly much 88 (important) to protect these cultural treasures than simply to show them.
With the 89 (arrive) of new technology (技术) , scientists can now save some original colours. Before leaving, I made sure to share this experience 90 my classmates through photos and stories. This was not only a journey but also a meaningful lesson.

第一节 阅读下列短文,根据短文内容,从题中所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳答案。(共20小题;每小题2分,满分40分)
A
We all have those moments when bright ideas hit us, but not everyone can develop such moments into the fruits of creative thinking.
A.Because he studied math for a long time.
B.Because a falling apple from the tree hit him.
C.Because he enjoyed finding new ways to solve problems.
D.Because he prepared a lot before and went on thinking after.
47.What does the underlined word “eureka” in Paragraph 3 probably mean?
A.I’ve got it B.I give up C.I’ve no idea D.I believe it
48.How does the writer mainly develop the passage?

49.Which of the following statement about Newton is TRUE?
A.In order to find the gravity, he studied math.
B.He seldom used what he learned to examine gravity.
B
Suddenly she jumped, and bit into his throat. He tried to fight, but the weasel held on. The cub was sure to die, but luckily his mother, the she-wolf, heard his frightened calls and came to save him.
51.Why did the grey cub want to go outside?
A.Because he wanted to hunt food by himself
B.Because he wanted to look for his mum.

D.Because his mum asked him to do it

A.Live things were meat and it was better to eat big live things.
B.Not all the things stayed in one place in the world.
C.Live things should fight for meat and fight to the end.
D.The floor of the world was not different from that of the cave.

Nowadays a large number of clothes are thrown away every year. Some may be a little old, but a lot of them are as good as new ones. France has come up with a new plan to encourage (鼓励) people to make their clothes last longer.
The French government will pay a “repair bonus (修补奖金)” to people who get their clothes repaired at special repair shops. The bonus makes people get back up to $27 of their repair costs. The government said the plan aims (旨在) to encourage those who carry out repairs and protect the environment (环境). Fast fashion means buying cheap clothes to wear just a few times. It uses a lot of materials (材料) which are bad for the environment.

A
We all have those moments when bright ideas hit us, but not everyone can develop such moments into the fruits of creative thinking.
A.Because he studied math for a long time.
B.Because a falling apple from the tree hit him.
C.Because he enjoyed finding new ways to solve problems.
D.Because he prepared a lot before and went on thinking after.
47.What does the underlined word “eureka” in Paragraph 3 probably mean?

49.Which of the following statement about Newton is TRUE?
A.In order to find the gravity, he studied math.
B.He seldom used what he learned to examine gravity.

故填an。

85.句意:根据“When I saw the soldiers (士兵) in the museum, I...deeply connected to ancient Chinese history. ...Standing before them, I could nearly imagine the grea...of Emperor Qin.”和 “our guide shared a heartbreaking fact.”可知,上下文之间是转折关系,所以用but“然而、不过”,句首首字母大写。故填But。
86.句意:它是如此困难以至于当兵马俑遇到空气时,人们几乎不能保持原始的颜色。根据“It is so difficult...people can hardly keep the original colour when the Terracotta Army meets the air.”可知,本题是“so...that...”句型,表示“如此……以至于……”’,that引导一个结果状语从句。故填that。
87.句意:这让我想更多地了解如何保护它们。feel like doing sth.“想要做某事”。故填learning。

【答案】范文
Hi, everyone. I’m very happy to share a warm memory.
Last Mid-Autumn Festival, my whole family got together at our balcony to admire the full moon. My grandmother told the legend of Chang’e, while my father played the guitar softly. I helped mother lay out mooncakes and fruits on the table. The moonlight and lantern light created a magical atmosphere.
This simple memory taught me that family bonding is life’s sweetest gift. Those laughs and stories under the moon will always warm my heart.
