Section Ⅱ Learning About Language [对应学生用书P27] 复习名词性从句 名词性从句是在句子中起名词作用的句子。名词性从句的功能相当于名词(词组),它在复合句中可以充当主语、宾语、表语、同位语,因此根据它在句中不同的语法功能,名词性从句又可分为主语从句、宾语从句、表语从句和同位语从句。 一、名词性从句的类别 (一)主语从句 主语从句是指在复合句中作主语的从句,位置与陈述句的主语相同。 What impressed me most was the Space Lab,where visitors could try spacewalk in almost zero gravity. 给我印象最深的是太空实验室,游客可以在几乎零重力的情况下尝试太空行走。 Whether we can win the contest or not doesn't matter as long as we try our best. 只要我们尽了最大努力,能否赢得比赛并不重要。 在主语从句中,如果主语部分结构较长,可以使用形式主语it,把真正的主语从句放于后面。 It is said that many amateur athletes from all over the city will participate. 据说,来自全市的很多业余选手将会参加。 (二)宾语从句 在主从复合句中作宾语的从句叫宾语从句。宾语从句在句中可以作及物动词、介词或一些形容词的宾语。 I hope that my suggestions are of great help to you and that your life will be back to normal soon. (应用文之建议信) 希望我的建议对你有很大的帮助,并希望你的生活能尽快恢复正常。 I'm more than delighted that I will attend the International Cultural Exchange Conference to be held in London next month. (应用文之咨询信) 我将出席下个月在伦敦举行的国际文化交流大会,对此我感到非常高兴。 带复合宾语(宾语+宾语补足语)的句子,that引导的宾语从句经常移到句子后面,而用it作形式宾语。 The class size makes it more possible that we can engage in classroom activities. 班级规模使我们更有可能参与课堂活动。 (三)表语从句 表语从句在复合句中作表语,出现在连系动词之后,一般结构为“主语+连系动词+表语从句”。可接表语从句的连系动词有be,look,remain,seem等。 Another real attraction is that you can see the cute giant pandas,our national treasure there! (应用文之申请信) 听到你要为太空爱好者组织一个夏令营的消息,我很兴奋。 Is there any possibility that you could arrange to pick us up at your convenience? 您是否可以在方便的时候安排接我们? [即时训练1] 完成句子 ①While he asked me not to bother it,I insisted that we meet at the bus station and give him what he deserved. 虽然他让我不要费心,但我坚持要在公交车站见面,给他应得的惩罚。(2024·新课标Ⅰ卷,读后续写) ②For students using shared bikes,what benefits them most is their convenience. 对于使用共享单车的学生来说,最大的好处是它们的方便。 ③Since you are wondering where you should spend your holiday,I'd like to recommend that you travel in Sichuan Province. (应用文之推荐信) 既然你想知道你应该去哪里度假,我想推荐你去四川省旅游。 ④What matters most is that it conveys the information to the world that Chinese people are friendly and kind. 最重要的是,它向世界传递了中国人民友好善良的信息。 二、名词性从句的连接词 (一)that,whether和if 1.连接词that that引导从句时,本身无意义,在从句中不充当成分。但是that在引导主语从句、表语从句和同位语从句时,一般不能省略。 2.连接词whether和if 连接词whether/if在从句中意为“是否”,不充当成分,一般不能省略。 Please let me know whether the time is suitable for you and I am open to suggestions as well. 请告诉我这个时间是否适合你,也欢迎你提出建议。 只用whether不用if的情况 (1)在主语从句和表语从句中常用whether (2)与or not连用 (3)位于介词之后 (4)位于动词不定式之前 I don't know whether or not the report is true. 我不知道这个报道是不是真的。 It depends on whether we have enough time. 这取决于我们是否有充足的时间。 (二)连接代词what,which,who,whom和whose 连接代词what,which,who,whom和whose在从句中起代词的作用,可作主语、表语、宾语或定语。 It was then that I truly understood what I had accomplished was not just about winning a contest,but about realizing my own potential. (应用文之建议信) 我非常了解你的感受,因为我曾经有同样的经历。 (四)复合连接词whatever,whichever,whoever和whomever 连接代词whatever,whichever,whoever和whomever在从句中的意义分别为“无论什么”“无论哪一个”“无论谁”(主格)、“无论谁”(宾格);在从句中起代词的作用,可作主语、宾语或定语。 Whoever is fond of English and willing to get involved in English performance is preferable.
