(本试卷总分100分,考试时间40分钟。)
第一部分阅读(共两节;满分70分)
第一节(共8小题;每小题5分,满分40分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
A
A breakthrough in electric vehicle (EV)battery design has enabled a 10-minute charge
time for a typical EV battery. The record-breaking combination of a shorter charge time and
more energy acquired for a longer travel range was announced on Oct.12 in the journal Nature.
"The need for smaller,faster-charging batteries is greater than ever,"said Wang,
the William E.Diefenderfer Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Penn State and lead
author on the study."Because the critical raw materials are short, there are not enough
batteries to meet expected demand.
In August,California's Air Resources Board passed an extensive plan to restrict and
ultimately ban the sale of gasoline-powered cars within the state."If new car sales are
going to shift to battery powered electric vehicles,"Wang explained,"they'll need to
overcome two major drawbacks:They are too slow to recharge and too large to be
efficient and affordable.Instead of taking a few minutes at the gas pump, depending on
the battery, some EVs can take all day to recharge.
"Our fast-charging technology works for most energy-dense batteries and will open a
new possibility to downsize(缩小尺寸)electric vehicle batteries from 150to50KWH
without causing drivers to feel range anxiety, said Wang, whose lab partnered with a
power company to develop the technology."The smaller,faster-charging batteries will
dramatically cut down battery cost and usage of critical raw materials, enabling mass
adoption of affordable electric cars.
"True fast-charging batteries would have immediate impact, the researchers wrote.
"Since there are not enough raw minerals for every internal combustion (engine car
to be replaced by a 150 KWH-equipped EV,fast charging is necessary for EVs to go
mainstream.”
"The study's partner, the power company,is working to manufacture and
commercialize the fast-charging battery for an affordable and sustainable future of vehicle
electrification,"Wang said.

Museums are echoes of history that go beyond time and space.Recently, they have
been attracting more and more visitors excited to experience culture directly. To meet the
different and personalized needs of visitors, new methods, models and content have
appeared, driving an increase in "museum tourism".
The widespread use of digital technology has not only reduced the upkeep costs of
cultural objects but also greatly cut down the geographical and physical boundaries of
cultural resources,improving the visitor experience.
Technologies like XR glasses and 3D displays able to be enjoyed without special
equipment are becoming key tools for interaction, enhancing the museum visitor
experience. In July, the Shandong Art Museum hosted the "Endless Sea"AI digital art
exhibition,China's first marine-themed(海洋主题的)art show to use a new AI-generated
content and user-generated content model,offering a deep,multi-layered experience.
Most museums rely on human or electronic guides. While human guides are
interactive,they can be expensive.Electronic guides,on the other hand,often lack
excitement and the "human touch".In response, some museums have started trying out
"digital-human"guides who can show maps,introduce exhibition,explain historical
backgrounds, serve as brand ambassadors and mix historical atmosphere with modern
elements. The digital-human guide is a new method designed to shift visitors from passive
listening to active interaction, adding a high-tech element to cultural exchanges.
By using advanced technology and increasing global teamwork, museums are quickly
becoming lively platforms offering deeper, more engaging cultural experiences.By
combining tradition with modernization, museums are not only preserving history but also
shaping the future of cultural engagement ()
5.What does the underlined word "upkeep"most likely mean in Paragraph 2?

How to Succeed in Science
To succeed in science, you need a lot more than luck.In my view, you have to
combine intelligence with willingness not to follow conventions when they block your path
forward. Thus, these have come to be my rules for success.
·9
That might sound proud, but the fact is that you must always turn to people who are
brighter than yourself. It's like playing any game.Even as a child,I never wanted to play
games with anyone who was as bad as I was.If you win,it gives you no pleasure. And in
the game of science or life, the highest goal isn't simply to win;it's to win at something
really difficult.10
·Take risks.
11 If you are going to make a huge jump in science, you will very likely be
unqualified to succeed by definition.Besides, you even have to be prepared to disbelieve
your scientific heroes. This can be more than personally upsetting.
Never do anything that bores you.
My experience in science is that someone is always telling you to do things, and then
leave you alone.12 In fact,I even find it hard to do well in something I like.
It's very hard to succeed if you don't want to be with other scientists-you have to go
to key meetings where you find key facts that would have escaped you.And you have to
chat with your competitors, even if you find them unpleasant. So my final rule is:13
A.Avoid foolish people.
B.Meet challenges with great courage.
