The Mobius Strip: A One-Sided Wonder
Have you ever tried making a Mobius strip (莫比乌斯带)? It’s a simple but fun activity that shows how strange shapes can change the way we see the world. Let’s learn how to make one and discover.
What You Need
Before you start, prepare these tools:
√a long strip of paper
√scissors
√glue or tape
√a pen
How to Make a Mobius Strip
Follow these steps to make your own Mobius strip:
*Cut a strip of paper that is about 2-3 cm wide and 30 cm long.*Hold the strip by both ends. Give one end a half - twist (turn it 180 degrees).
*Join the two ends with tape or glue to form a loop.*Use a pen to draw a line along the center of the strip. Keep drawing without lifting your pen. You will notice that the line goes all the way around and comes back to where you started.
※Try cutting the strip along the center line. What happens? You get one long loop!*Try cutting it again — now you get two loops that are linked together like a chain.*The Mobius strip is special because it has only one side and one edge. It is a shape called a non-orientable surface.
Where Is the Mobius Strip Used
The Mobius strip is not just a fun trick. It has real uses in the world. In factories, some conveyor belts (传送带) are made like Mobius strips so both sides of the belt can wear evenly and last longer. Some rings and necklaces are designed in the shape of a Mobius strip to show endless love and unity. Artists create Mobius - shaped sculptures and models to explore beauty and infinity. Scientists also use the Mobius strip to explain ideas about space, time, and the Universe. So, the next time you hold a piece of paper, try turning it into a Mobius strip. You might see the world in a new way!
26.Put the steps for making a Mobius strip in the correct order.
a. Twist one end of the strip before joining it to the other end.
b. Draw a line along the middle of the strip without lifting your pen.
c. Use tape or glue to connect the two ends of the strip.
d. Cut a long, thin strip of paper to start.
A.d → a → c → b B.d → a → b → c
C.c → b → a → d D.c → d → b → a
27.Which of the following uses the Mobius strip design?
A. B. C. D.
28.Where can you most likely read this article?
A.A math competition handbook. B.A science textbook.
C.A biology class workbook. D.A music theory guide.

Great news for pet owners in China! Passengers can now bring certain pets on some high - speed trains. This is a new program by China Railway Express. The move is a first for the country’s railway system.
The service began its test run on April 10. It’s being tested on ten trains along the Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway. It only runs between five big stations: Beijing South, Jinan West, Nanjing South, Shanghai Hongqiao and Hangzhou East. People can book tickets for their pets using the 12306 ticket system at least two days before travel.
Not all pets can ride the train. So far, only pet cats and dogs are allowed on board. And they must be in good health. Owners are required to show a health certificate (证明) for their pets. Besides, the pet must be less than 15 kilograms and no taller than 40 centimeters at the shoulder.
Pets will be put in specially designed containers. These boxes are kept in a separate area away from passengers. Train workers will watch the pets during the trip and check on them every two hours. Water may be provided if needed, but pets cannot be fed during the trip.
The service follows a “same departure, same arrival” rule. That means owners and their pets must get on the train at the same station and get off together as well. Pet owners should arrive early to finish check - in, and pets must be picked up within one hour after arrival.
Pricing of the service is based on travel distance. For example, transporting a pet on a journey under 1000 kilometers will cost 558 yuan. During the trial period, it only costs 360 yuan.
Some pet owners are happy with the new service. Many others, however, are a bit worried about the safety of their pets. They hope that in the future their pets can sit next to them on the train.

①Have you ever watched a hologram (全息影像) during a video call? What if you could chat with your friend as real as standing face-to-face? This magic will probably be powered by 6G the technology that China’s 2025 Two Sessions (两会) marked as a national goal.
②Compared to 5G, 6G promises great improvements, which will support much smoother connections between humans, machines, and the environment, creating a world where everything works smartly together.

By connecting towers on the ground with satellites (卫星) close to Earth, “no-service” areas will probably disappear forever, 6G could bring strong signals (信号) to every corner of the planet-deep in the Amazon rainforest, at the top of Mount Qomolangma, or in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, allowing anyone, anywhere, to share moments in real time.
⑥China is taking the lead in 6G research. Tech companies like Huawei and ZTE have made great achievements. China successfully sent the world’s first 6G test satellite into space. The government is also actively supporting plans like building test networks, setting national standards, and helping researchers work with industries. By 2030, the government aims to make 6G available for everyone.
⑦Ye challenges remain Developing 6G may cost 50 times more than 5G. Also, internationat cooperation on standard-setting is needed. But with China’s large market and creative power, experts believe 6G is sure to become a reality and benefit humans in countless ways.
⑧In conclusion, 6G isn’t just faster—it’s a key to a smarter world. As Chinese engineers work tirelessly and push forward, one question remains: How will YOU use 6G to shape tomorrow?
37.Which is the improvement of 6G over 5G?

Everyone is shaped by the people and environment around them, but none so much as the family. For better or worse, our parents and other relatives have a great influence on our lives. 41 As we grow older, we may distance ourselves from them, but their influence remains.
One of the most obvious ways the family shapes us is through genetics (遗传). We get our physical characteristics from our parents, like hair color and eye color. 42 We also get tendencies (偏好) and talents, such as a musical talent. Even though we can’t choose our genes, we can learn to accept the things that make us unique.
Another way the family shapes us is through its experiences. From an early age, we learn the habits, beliefs (信仰), and values of our family members, 43 We may not share all the same views as our parents or grandparents, but their influence is still there. In many ways, this influence is even stronger than genes when it comes to who we become as people.
44 The way our parents treat us and each other has a huge influence on how we see the world and how we treat the people around us. If we grow up in a family full of love and respect, we are more willing to show love and respect to others.
There’s no certain answer to the question of nature or nurture (培养). 45 But many other factors also play a role.
A.But genetics goes beyond appearance.
B.Finally, the family shapes us by example.
C.Our family plays an important role in how we develop as human beings.
D.Over time, these things become part of us whether we realize it or not.

【答案】例文
Dear judges and friends,
It’s my honour to introduce my robot to you. First, my robot is designed to look friendly and approachable. It stands 1.6 meters tall with a smooth silver body and bright blue eyes that light up when speaking. Its face shows a warm smile, making visitors feel welcome.
This robot selects folk songs according to different exhibit themes. For example, near a display of Chinese ink paintings, it plays guqin sounds. Besides, when asked questions, its eyes light up softly. If a child asks about tea culture, it will share Lu Yu’s “Tea Classic” tales through cartons.
To me, technology and culture are perfect partners. Technology makes traditions lively, while culture gives technology a soul full of warmth and meaning. Together, they create art that inspires the world.
Thanks for listening!
