Live Healthy, Live Happy
A healthy lifestyle, which is the foundation of energy and good grades, is more important than anything else. Without it, we easily feel tired and fall ill.
Here are my tips. First, exercise for thirty minutes every day — jogging, skipping or playing basketball, which keeps your heart strong. Second, eat more fruit and vegetables, and drink enough water; what you eat is what you become. Third, go to bed before 11 p.m. so that your body can recover. Finally, keep a positive mind. Remember: happiness is not only a feeling, but also a habit. Smile, talk with friends, and don’t stay upset for long.
Let’s start today and live each day with energy and joy!
He knew he couldn’t just walk away and let it stay this way. Mark rolled up his sleeves determinedly. First, he picked up all the visible trash along the bank, filling several large garbage bags. He then used a long stick to fish out the floating items in the water. As he worked, some local kids noticed what he was doing and came over to help. Encouraged by their enthusiasm, Mark explained the importance of keeping the river clean. Together, they made a plan to clean the river regularly.
The river looked much better, but Mark didn’t stop there. He decided to raise awareness about environmental protection in the whole town. He organized a community meeting, showing pictures of the river’s past and present. People were shocked and realized their mistakes. With everyone’s support, Mark started a campaign to plant trees along the riverbank and set up signs to remind people not to litter. Slowly but surely, the river began to regain its former beauty, and Mark’s childhood paradise was coming back to life.

(原创题)Chen Wenbo, a university student, was thrilled to see foreign users praise his team's short videos about the Xixia Imperial Tombs. Comments like "want to learn more about Chinese history" proved their success. As the head of his university's "Telling China's Stories" studio, Chen realized that students could also play a vital role in sharing Chinese culture with the world.
The studio, which started as a student club, has grown into an interdisciplinary team of over 60 students from 14 different departments. They follow a strict schedule, releasing a bilingual short video every Tuesday. Their topics range from Chinese idioms and intangible cultural heritage to ethnic costume transformations. Their efforts have produced hundreds of videos, with some even being shared by Chinese embassies.
The studio's success is built on strong collaboration. Teachers from different departments ensure quality: the foreign languages school checks for linguistic accuracy, the Marxism school verifies historical facts, and the design and art school enhances the visuals. Furthermore, students from the engineering school use advanced technologies like 3D modeling and AI to vividly restore the original appearance of historical sites, making their videos more engaging.
The experience has been transformative for the students involved. Many have shifted from being passive "cultural observers" to active "cultural promoters." For example, a former leader, Wu Jingwei, performed in English plays about traditional Chinese stories like Hua Mulan. This experience deepened her understanding of her own culture, turning her into a true guardian and communicator of its traditions.
Looking ahead, the studio is preparing a "China Travel" series to introduce foreign tourists to cities beyond Beijing and Shanghai, highlighting local cuisine and historical figures. The studio's goal has always been clear: to tell China's stories well in two languages. As their founder put it, "Learning languages is not only about seeing the world, but also about letting the world see China."
24. How does the studio ensure the quality of its videos?
A. By hiring professional media organizations.
B. By collaborating with different university departments.
C. By focusing only on simple and easy topics.
D. By posting new content every single day.
25. What does the creation of the Xixia Imperial Tombs series suggest about the team?
A. The team’s serious attitude toward cultural promotion.
B. Historical sites are easy to film and present.
C. Students prefer modern themes over history.
D. Technology is not important in video production.
26. What did the studio give students besides practical skills?
A. A deeper connection to their own culture.
B. Opportunities to travel abroad for free.
C. High scores in all their university exams.
D. Chances to become famous movie stars.
27. What is the main purpose of the planned "China Travel" series?
A. To show only the most famous Chinese cities.
B. To offer practical travel guides for foreign visitors.
C. To teach Chinese history through famous figures.
D. To promote the university's tourism programs.

(原创题)At a recent Shanghai pet fashion week, a famous dog model stole the show, wearing an ancient-style coat while its owner had a matching one. This event highlighted how the "pet economy" is shifting from fast growth to a new phase that values quality and emotional bonds between owners and their pets.
One major trend is the rise of traditional Chinese aesthetics in pet fashion. Brands like Petstar are leading this movement by incorporating cultural symbols and the classic "Chinese red" into their designs. This approach has been successful, with sales of these traditional-style clothes growing rapidly, especially during festivals. The reason is clear: young people are embracing traditional culture in their own lives and are now extending this trend to their beloved animal companions.
Another significant trend is the growing demand for functional outdoor pet apparel. As more owners take their pets camping and hiking, the need for professional gear has increased. Brands are responding with outdoor collections made from special, durable materials that ensure pets' safety and comfort. These products often feature practical designs, such as easy-to-use magnetic buckles, making them convenient for owners during their adventures.
Furthermore, the market is seeing the entry of high-end global fashion brands. Famous labels like Ralph Lauren and Hugo Boss are now launching pet clothing lines. However, they often face design challenges, such as adapting to various pet sizes. To solve this, they partner with specialized companies that understand the unique needs of pet fashion, ensuring the pet lines maintain the same high-quality style as their human collections.
These developments show that the pet fashion industry is becoming more mature and diverse, offering owners more ways to express their love and share their lifestyles with their furry family members.
28. Why is traditional Chinese style becoming popular in pet fashion?
A. Because it is promoted by international brands.
B. Because it is cheaper than modern styles.
C. Because young owners want to share their cultural interest.
D. Because it is only designed for famous pets.
29. What can be inferred about designing pet clothes?
A. It is a simple task for any fashion company.
B. It requires special knowledge about pets.
C. It is less profitable than designing human clothes.
D. It focuses more on appearance than on function.
30. What is a key feature of the new outdoor pet clothing?
A. It is decorated with complex cultural patterns.
B. It is designed for safety and durability.
C. It is sold at very low and affordable prices.
D. It is mainly suitable for indoor activities.
31. Which of the following is the best title for the passage?
A. The History of Pet Fashion in China
B. How to Train Your Pet for the Catwalk
C. New Trends in the Pet Fashion Market
D. The Most Expensive Pet Clothes in the World
D
(原创题)Young children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) often receive medication immediately after diagnosis, violating treatment guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics. The guidelines recommend that children aged 4-5 try six months of behavior therapy before starting medication. However, a study of nearly 10,000 U.S. children found that over 40% were prescribed drugs within a month of diagnosis.
Behavior therapy and medication serve different purposes. Behavior therapy trains parents to manage their child’s surroundings by building positive routines and rewarding good behaviors. It equips families with long-term skills. In contrast, medication temporarily reduces symptoms like hyperactivity but has more side effects in young children, such as irritability and aggression. Experts advise starting with behavior therapy for better outcomes.
Early ADHD treatment is crucial. Untreated children risk academic struggles and future difficulties in jobs and relationships. Combining both treatments works best, but behavior therapy should come first for preschoolers.
Why the rush to medicate? Many doctors cite limited access to behavior therapy. Some regions lack trained therapists, and insurance may not cover sessions. Physicians feel pressured to prescribe medication rather than leave children untreated.
Solutions include promoting low-cost online resources for parents and emphasizing that behavior therapy benefits all ages. Medication alone cannot teach life skills, making behavioral approaches essential for lasting improvement.
32. What is the primary goal of behavior therapy for young children with ADHD?
A. To replace medication completely.
B. To train parents in managing the child’s environment.
C. To reduce hyperactivity instantly.
D. To help children process drugs better.
33. What can be inferred about doctors who prescribe medication early?
A. They ignore medical guidelines deliberately.
B. They lack access to better alternatives.
C. They prioritize speed over effectiveness.
D. They underestimate side effects in children.
34. How does medication mainly affect young children with ADHD?
A. It causes long-term emotional changes.
B. It provides temporary symptom relief.
C. It improves academic performance permanently.
D. It reduces the need for parental training.
35. What is the central conflict in ADHD treatment described in the passage?
A. Guidelines vs. practical challenges.
B. Medication costs vs. therapy benefits.
C. Parental preferences vs. doctors’ advice.
D. Early diagnosis vs. delayed intervention.

How to Be an Active Listener
In a world full of noise, truly listening to someone is a rare and valuable gift. Active listening is more than just hearing words. 36 Here are some tips to help you become a better listener.
Pay Full Attention
When you're in a conversation, give the speaker your undivided attention. 37 Put away your phone, turn off the TV, and make eye contact. Thus non-verbal cue shows the speaker that you are focused on them and that what they are saying is important to you. It also helps you to pick up on their body language and other non-verbal signals.
Show You're Listening
38 This can be as simple as nodding your head occasionally. A simple nod can show you understand, and an occasional "uh-huh" or "I see" can encourage the speaker to continue. These small signals show that you are listening attentively and following their train of thought without interrupting (打断) their flow.
Avoid Interrupting The Speaker
Interrupting sends the message that you think your own thoughts are more important than the speaker's. It can be discouraging for the speaker and can break their concentration. Wait for them to pause before you ask questions or offer your own viewpoint. 39
Respond Properly
Active listening is a model for respect and understanding. You are gaining information and viewpoint. 40 Be open and honest in your response, but always be respectful. Share your own thoughts and feelings without judging or ignoring what the other person has shared.
A.It shows respect and patience.
B.Try to finish their sentences for them.
C.You are not there to immediately solve their problems.
D.Stay focused and listen carefully to the person speaking.
E.It's about understanding the complete message being sent.
F.Ask clarifying questions if you are confused about something.
G.Use your own body language and gestures to express your attention.

Mark’s hometown is a quiet little place in the countryside, with a beautiful river flowing gently through its center. When he was a kid, this river was always crystal-clear —its surface shone like countless small pieces of silver under the warm sun, and groups of colorful small fish swam freely in the shallow, cool waters. It was undoubtedly Mark’s favorite spot in the whole town; every weekend, he’d gather his closest friends, grab their old fishing poles, and sit on the smooth, round stones by the grassy bank, chatting loudly about their daily lives and patiently waiting for fish to bite.
Last year, Mark left for another city to go to high school. He missed his peaceful hometown a lot, especially the beloved river that held so many of his childhood memories. During the long summer holiday, he packed his bags in excitement and couldn’t wait to come back home.
But when Mark arrived at the river that sunny afternoon, he was completely shocked. The clear, lively river he remembered so well was gone. The water wasn’t transparent and clean anymore, and the once tidy bank was full of dirty trash. He stood there, frozen, staring at the terrible scene, and could hardly believe his own eyes. The happy, laughter-filled memories of fishing with friends suddenly felt so far away, as if they belonged to another world.
He slowly walked closer and saw more heartbreaking sights: plastic bottles, worn paper food wrappers, and knotted, dirty fishing lines were everywhere. Some empty bait tins (鱼饵罐) even floated lazily in the water. The river water looked dark and cloudy, losing all its former brightness, and when a light wind blew, it gave off an unpleasant smell that made Mark frown deeply.
Mark felt a strong wave of heavy sadness welling up in his heart. He kept thinking about how clean, clear and lively the river used to be in his childhood, and how it had given him so many joyful, unforgettable days with his friends.
注意:1. 续写词数应为150个左右;
He knew he couldn’t just walk away and let it stay this way.

【答案】18.B 19.A 20.C
M: “People in a hurry have no seasons, only from last station to the next.” This sentence is from Man in a Hurry, the first poetry collection of more than 180 poems from Wang Jibing. Since 2009 Wang has written over 4000 poems on a range of subjects, including his working experiences in different cities, his recollections of his parents and hometown, and observations of society and life. Working as a food delivery driver now in Kunshan, Jiangsu province, Wang has always loved reading and writing. Living a busy life, he only has two hours a day for his literature hobby. Wang’s poem “People in a Hurry” makes him well known online. He wrote it after he received incorrect addresses from customers twice in one evening, leading to him delivering late. “If the life of a delivery man is bitter like taking medicine, there is no doubt that poetry is the candy for me after the medicine,” Wang wrote. This April, Wang published his second poetry collection of 130 poems, titled “I Love This World Clumsily”. “I don’t intend to work as a writer. The priority is always the same, looking after my family. So I’ll keep my regular job delivering food,” says Wang.

B 25. A 26. A 27. B
文章第三段明确指出:“The studio's success is built on strong collaboration. Teachers from different departments ensure quality...”
选项B“历史遗迹很容易拍摄和呈现”与原文“Creating a rich visual presentation also proved difficult”矛盾。
文章最后一段提到,工作室正在准备“中国旅行”系列,旨在“introduce foreign tourists to cities beyond Beijing and Shanghai, highlighting local cuisine and historical figures”(向外国游客介绍北京和上海以外的城市,突出当地美食和历史人物)。
C
D. The Most Expensive Pet Clothes in the World
C 29. B 30. B 31. C
根据文章第二段,“The reason is clear: young people are embracing traditional culture in their own lives and are now extending this trend to their beloved animal companions.”(原因很清楚:年轻人正在自己的生活中拥抱传统文化,现在他们正将这一趋势延伸到他们心爱的动物伴侣身上。)
根据文章第四段,“...they often face design challenges, such as adapting to various pet sizes. To solve this, they partner with specialized companies that understand the unique needs of pet fashion...”(……
根据文章第三段,“...the need for professional gear has increased. Brands are responding with outdoor collections made from special, durable materials that ensure pets' safety and comfort.”(……
C“New Trends in the Pet Fashion Market”(宠物时尚市场的新趋势)最能全面、准确地概括文章的核心内容。

B 33. B 34. B 35. A
Behavior therapy trains parents to manage their child’s surroundings",可知其核心是训练家长管理环境。

On the first day, I checked into a hotel in Tangkouzhen, a little town at the foot of the mountain. In the restaurant 58 was also run by the hotel owner, I ate an entire fish called stinky Mandarin fish by myself. The local food was delicious!
The next morning, a bus took me to the base of Yungu Ropeway. After a 15-minute ride on the cable car, I 59 (see) wonderful views of Huangshan. I spent 60 rest of the morning visiting sights such as the Monkey Watching the Sea viewpoint before making 61 (I)way to a hotel on the mountain. After relaxing for a bit, I headed off to Danxia Peak 62 (catch) the sunset. At an elevation (海拔) of 1,625 meters, Danxia Peak gave me a sweeping view of the mountains below.
On the third day, I hiked through the West Sea Grand Canyon. It was kind of 63 (challenge) for me to hike downwards, but the views were extremely amazing. What impressed me most was the last 64 (attract) of my trip: Guest-Greeting Pine. While admiring it, I felt 65 (warm) welcomed there — and in China.

故填that/which。

故填to catch。

注意:1. 续写词数应为150个左右;
He knew he couldn’t just walk away and let it stay this way.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The river looked much better, but Mark didn’t stop there.

Huangshan, also known 56 the Yellow Mountains, is one of China’s most popular travel destinations. It is famous for its five 57 (wonder): odd-shaped pines (奇松),spectacular rocky peaks (怪石), sea of clouds, hot springs, and winter snow. I visited it two years ago, spending three days exploring the area.

注意:1. 续写词数应为150个左右;
He knew he couldn’t just walk away and let it stay this way.

At a recent Shanghai pet fashion week,a famous dog model stole the show, wearing an
ancient-style coat while its owner had a matching one. This event highlighted how the "pet economy"is shifting
from fast growth to a new phase that values quality and emotional bonds between owners and their pets.
One major trend is the rise of traditional Chinese aesthetics in pet fashion.Brands like Petstar are leading this
movement by incorporating cultural symbols and the classic "Chinese red"into their designs. This approach has
been successful, with sales of these traditional-style clothes growing rapidly, especially during festivals. The
reason is clear:young people are embracing traditional culture in their own lives and are now extending this trend
to their beloved animal companions
Another significant trend is the growing demand for functional outdoor pet apparel. As more owners take
their pets camping and hiking, the need for professional gear has increased.Brands are responding with outdoor
collections made from special, durable materials that ensure pets'safety and comfort. These products often feature
practical designs, such as easy-to-use magnetic buckles, making them convenient for owners during their
adventures.
Furthermore, the market is seeing the entry of high-end global fashion brands.Famous labels like Ralph
Lauren and Hugo Boss are now launching pet clothing lines. However, they often face design challenges, such as
adapting to various pet sizes. To solve this, they partner with specialized companies that understand the unique
needs of pet fashion, ensuring the pet lines maintain the same high-quality style as their human collections.
These developments show that the pet fashion industry is becoming more mature and diverse, offering
owners more ways to express their love and share their lifestyles with their furry family members.
28.Why is traditional Chinese style becoming popular in pet fashion?
A.Because it is promoted by international brands.

()Young children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)often receive medication
immediately after diagnosis, violating treatment guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics. The
guidelines recommend that children aged 4-5 try six months of behavior therapy before starting medication.
However,a study of nearly 10,000 U.S.children found that over 40%were prescribed drugs within a month of
diagnosis
Behavior therapy and medication serve different purposes.Behavior therapy trains parents to manage their
child's surroundings by building positive routines and rewarding good behaviors. It equips families with long-term
skills. In contrast, medication temporarily reduces symptoms like hyperactivity but has more side effects in young
children, such as irritability and aggression.Experts advise starting with behavior therapy for better outcomes.
Early ADHD treatment is crucial.Untreated children risk academic struggles and future difficulties in jobs
and relationships.Combining both treatments works best, but behavior therapy should come first for preschoolers.
Why the rush to medicate? Many doctors cite limited access to behavior therapy. Some regions lack trained
therapists, and insurance may not cover sessions.Physicians feel pressured to prescribe medication rather than
