Thank you all for joining our wellness workshop. I'm Richard Simons. Before we begin, I want to share some advice. Staying active is essential for a healthy lifestyle, but it's important to avoid common workout mistakes. The first air is the lack of variety and exercise. Engaging in the same routine can lead you to see no progress. To prevent this, I suggest changing your workout plans monthly, do diverse activities like yoga to improve flexibility or weight lifting to build strength. Variety not only prevents boredom, but also improves your overall fitness. Another common air is over training. It's important to understand that rest is just as crucial for muscle recovery and growth as the workout itself. It's not always about the intensity or frequency of your workouts. I recommend aiming for two instance sessions per week. On the days you're not pushing yourself hard, consider engaging in lighter activity such as fast walking or illegally cycling. This approach baLances physical effort with recovery. It's also advisable to have at least one day of complete rest weekly to allow your body to fully recover. Remember, wellness is a marathon. Listen to your body and make adjustments accordingly. Thank you all for joining our wellness workshop. I'm Richard Simon. Before we begin, I want to share some advice. Climate change is now coming for your cheese.By affecting what cows eat,it can change a

from central France, according to a recent study
Cows in this region usually eat local grass. However,as climate change causes more severe dry periods, some
:
dairy farmers are giving their cows other food, such as comn,to adapt."Farmers are looking for food that grows
better with little water,"explained one scientist. To understand how this affects cheese,a team of researchers
conducted a study. For nearly five months, they tested 40 cows, adding different amounts of corn to their grass

diet. They then analyzed the milk from these cows to see how it changed.
The results were clear.A corn-based diet did not affect the amount of milk cows produced and even led to a
reduction in a harmful gas called methane from the cows. However, the cheese made from the milk of grass-fed
cows was richer and more flavorful.Moreover,grass-based diets resulted in cheese with more healthy fats and
higher counts of good bacteria. To maintain cheese quality, the researchers suggest farmers should add fresh plants
to a corn-based diet.
Experts also point out that warming climates directly harm cattle."Cows produce heat when they digest food.
So if they are already feeling hot, they'll eat less to cool down,"says a dairy expert. The animals also use energy
to fight heat-related stress, which can make them weaker and more likely to get sick.
In warmer places like Brazil, farmers are already making changes. One dairy producer is moving his cows
from open fields to indoor buildings to keep them comfortable. The industry is also trying different food mixtures
to prevent milk quality from dropping. The strategies may differ, but one thing is certain:as climate change
continues,we will notice its effects, even in our daily cheese.
28.What was a key finding about cheese from grass-fed cows compared to corn-fed ones?
A.It was produced in larger quantities.
B.It contained more healthy substances.
C.It led to fewer harmful gases.
D.It was easier to make and melt.
29.What can be inferred about the dairy producers in Brazil?
A.They prefer open grazing to indoor herding.
B.They have found a perfect solution to heat stress.
C.They are actively responding to changing climate patterns.
D.They believe the quality of their milk is already perfect.
30.Besides changing cows'diets, how does climate change directly affect the animals?
A.It forces them to move to colder regions.
B.It causes them to eat less and become weaker
C.It makes their food grow faster but less nutritious.
D.It reduces the number of helpful bacteria in their milk.
31.What is the author's main purpose in writing this article?

《原创题)Why do some memories stay crystal clear while others fade away?A new study from Boston
University offers an answer. It suggests that ordinary moments are given extra staying power if they are linked to a
significant event-something surprising,rewarding,or carrying strong feelings.For example,if you win a prize,
you are more likely to remember the small, unimportant things you were doing just before it happened.
The research explores how the brain strengthens memories from both before and after a key event. The team
found this memory enhancement is real and works in a specific way.For memories formed after the big moment,
their strength depends on how important the event was.The more powerful the event, the clearer the memories
that follow. For memories from before the event, however, the rule is different. They are more likely to be saved if
they share similarities, like a visual cue, with the key event. It's not just about timing, but also about connection.
This discovery shows that the brain actively saves weak memories that might otherwise disappear. It seems to
prioritize these fragile memories, strengthening them based on their link to something more important. However,
researchers found one limitation:if the ordinary memory itself is also emotional, the enhancement effect is weaker.
The brain appears to focus its rescue efforts on memories that are truly neutral and at risk of being lost.
The findings have broad potential applications. In education, teachers could pair difficult concepts with
engaging, emotional stories to help students remember them better. In clinical settings, this knowledge could be
used to help older adults recall fading memories or,conversely,to help people with trauma reduce the power of
painful memories by understanding how they are linked.
32.How are ordinary memories strengthened according to the passage?
A.By being repeated frequently
B.By being connected to important events.
C.By being grouped with similar memories.
D.By being rewarded with special prizes.
33.What can be inferred about the brain's memory system?
A.It aims to store all personal experiences.
B.It mainly focuses on positive and happy events.
C.It works to prevent the loss of useful information.
D.It organizes memories strictly in chronological order.
34.Which of the following is the best title for the passage?
试题第7页(共12页)
A.The Formation of Long-term Memory
B.How Emotions Influence Our Brain
C.Important Events Save Ordinary Moments
D.New Ways to Improve Your Memory
·······:
35.When does the memory enhancement effect become weaker?
A.When the key event is a negative one.
兵
B.When the ordinary memory is also emotional.
C.When there is no visual connection between memories.
D.When the significant event happened long ago.

In today’s highly competitive restaurant industry, catching people’s attention and leaving a lasting impression is important. With so many dining options available, it’s necessary to create visually (视觉上) impressive restaurant posters that will attract potential customers.
Clear and Engaging Headline (标题)
An interesting headline is the first opportunity to draw your potential customers’ attention. Keep it simple, short, interesting, and easy to read from a distance. Use expressive language that delivers the special experience your restaurant has to offer.
Mouthwatering Imagery
High-quality visuals are vital for any restaurant poster. Show your specials, fresh ingredients, or a beautifully arranged table setting to instantly encourage hunger and curiosity. Ensure that the images are well-lit and professionally produced to make the food appear appetizing.

Make it a key point of the poster. Show what sets you apart from the competition and makes your restaurant a must-visit destination.
Social Media Engagement
Make people interact more on social media by adding your restaurant’s social media accounts and hashtags (标签) to the poster. Promote engagement by inviting customers to share their dining experiences, post food photos, or leave reviews. This not only creates a sense of community but also helps attract new customers.

With a thirst for a new challenge, I decided to begin my language journey and my only regret is that I didn’t start earlier. Since starting to learn, I have made good progress. The Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) is a test of Chinese language for non-native speakers. In July 2020, I passed my HSK3 exam with a score of 100. I am now almost ready to start HSK5.
Learning to speak Chinese isn’t as insurmountable as I once thought. When I speak to native speakers in Chinese, they almost always understand me. I also find it not too difficult to remember characters and I am now even able to write over 400 characters. I find studying the language relaxing and worthwhile, particularly writing the characters. The thing I find most challenging is listening since native speakers talk at such a speed. I can’t always understand what has been said, but my weekly online language exchanges help with this greatly.
Despite my progress, it has still been the challenge I desire and has taken a lot of hard work. Furthermore, there is a long way to go before I reach my goal of fluency. The key to progress is to be patient and persistent (坚持不懈的). The satisfaction that comes from simple things like ordering food in Chinese, buying things on the Internet or communicating with a taxi driver makes all the hard work worth it.
My biggest harvest from learning Chinese is that it’s not only doable but can also be enjoyable. Learning Chinese not only helps me in day-to-day life, but deepens my cultural understanding of such a colourful and beautiful country. Considering where I am now, compared to two years ago, as long as I keep studying hard, I can image a time when I’ll be able to read famous Chinese novels not in English but in the original text. So, to all my non-Chinese friends, I always say “Don’t give up. Embrace (拥抱) the challenge.”
24.What is the writer’s only regret about his language journey?
A.He didn’t pass the HSK3 exam earlier.
B.He didn’t start learning Chinese earlier.
C.He can’t write over 400 Chinese characters yet.
D.He hasn’t been ready for the HSK5 exam.
25.What does the underlined word “insurmountable” in Paragraph 2 probably mean?
A.Interesting. B.Unbeatable. C.Boring. D.Easy.
26.What can we infer from the passage?
A.The writer will give up learning Chinese soon.
B.The writer can already read Chinese novels in the original text.
C.Learning Chinese has helped the writer know more about Chinese culture.
D.The writer thinks listening is the easiest part of learning Chinese.
27.What is the main idea of the passage?
A.The HSK exam is important for non-native Chinese learners.
B.The writer shares his experience and feelings of learning Chinese.
C.Listening is the most difficult part of learning Chinese.
D.Chinese culture is colourful and beautiful.

(原创题)Climate change is now coming for your cheese. By affecting what cows eat, it can change a cheese’s nutritional value and qualities like taste and texture. This is the case for Cantal, a type of firm cheese from central France, according to a recent study.
Cows in this region usually eat local grass. However, as climate change causes more severe dry periods, some dairy farmers are giving their cows other food, such as corn, to adapt. “Farmers are looking for food that grows better with little water,” explained one scientist. To understand how this affects cheese, a team of researchers conducted a study. For nearly five months, they tested 40 cows, adding different amounts of corn to their grass diet. They then analyzed the milk from these cows to see how it changed.
The results were clear. A corn-based diet did not affect the amount of milk cows produced and even led to a reduction in a harmful gas called methane from the cows. However, the cheese made from the milk of grass-fed cows was richer and more flavorful. Moreover, grass-based diets resulted in cheese with more healthy fats and higher counts of good bacteria. To maintain cheese quality, the researchers suggest farmers should add fresh plants to a corn-based diet.
Experts also point out that warming climates directly harm cattle. “Cows produce heat when they digest food. So if they are already feeling hot, they’ll eat less to cool down,” says a dairy expert. The animals also use energy to fight heat-related stress, which can make them weaker and more likely to get sick.
In warmer places like Brazil, farmers are already making changes. One dairy producer is moving his cows from open fields to indoor buildings to keep them comfortable. The industry is also trying different food mixtures to prevent milk quality from dropping. The strategies may differ, but one thing is certain: as climate change continues, we will notice its effects, even in our daily cheese.
28. What was a key finding about cheese from grass-fed cows compared to corn-fed ones?
A. It was produced in larger quantities.
B. It contained more healthy substances.
C. It led to fewer harmful gases.
D. It was easier to make and melt.
29. What can be inferred about the dairy producers in Brazil?
A. They prefer open grazing to indoor herding.
B. They have found a perfect solution to heat stress.
C. They are actively responding to changing climate patterns.
D. They believe the quality of their milk is already perfect.
30. Besides changing cows’ diets, how does climate change directly affect the animals?
A. It forces them to move to colder regions.
B. It causes them to eat less and become weaker.
C. It makes their food grow faster but less nutritious.
D. It reduces the number of helpful bacteria in their milk.
31. What is the author’s main purpose in writing this article?
A. To persuade people to eat less cheese.
B. To compare French and Brazilian farming methods.
C. To promote corn as a better food for dairy cows.
D. To show a subtle impact of climate change on daily life.

(原创题)Why do some memories stay crystal clear while others fade away? A new study from Boston University offers an answer. It suggests that ordinary moments are given extra staying power if they are linked to a significant event—something surprising, rewarding, or carrying strong feelings. For example, if you win a prize, you are more likely to remember the small, unimportant things you were doing just before it happened.
The research explores how the brain strengthens memories from both before and after a key event. The team found this memory enhancement is real and works in a specific way. For memories formed after the big moment, their strength depends on how important the event was. The more powerful the event, the clearer the memories that follow. For memories from before the event, however, the rule is different. They are more likely to be saved if they share similarities, like a visual cue, with the key event. It’s not just about timing, but also about connection.
This discovery shows that the brain actively saves weak memories that might otherwise disappear. It seems to prioritize these fragile memories, strengthening them based on their link to something more important. However, researchers found one limitation: if the ordinary memory itself is also emotional, the enhancement effect is weaker. The brain appears to focus its rescue efforts on memories that are truly neutral and at risk of being lost.
The findings have broad potential applications. In education, teachers could pair difficult concepts with engaging, emotional stories to help students remember them better. In clinical settings, this knowledge could be used to help older adults recall fading memories or, conversely, to help people with trauma reduce the power of painful memories by understanding how they are linked.
32. How are ordinary memories strengthened according to the passage?
A. By being repeated frequently.
B. By being connected to important events.
C. By being grouped with similar memories.
D. By being rewarded with special prizes.
33. What can be inferred about the brain’s memory system?
A. It aims to store all personal experiences.
B. It mainly focuses on positive and happy events.
C. It works to prevent the loss of useful information.
D. It organizes memories strictly in chronological order.
34. Which of the following is the best title for the passage?
A. The Formation of Long-term Memory
B. How Emotions Influence Our Brain
C. Important Events Save Ordinary Moments
D. New Ways to Improve Your Memory
35. When does the memory enhancement effect become weaker?
A. When the key event is a negative one.
B. When the ordinary memory is also emotional.
C. When there is no visual connection between memories.
D. When the significant event happened long ago.

Art is all around us. It can be found everywhere, including fancy galleries, people’s living rooms, and on the sides of buildings. So, why is art important?
It promotes expression and creativity. As humans, we’re naturally drawn to art as a form of expression and communication. 36 It’s a way for them to express themselves before they’re able to speak. In fact, participation in the arts may even assist kids with language, motor skills, and visual learning development.
37 . When someone applies for a job, there are certain skills they need to have like data analysis or bookkeeping. However, many employers also understand the very important need for the skills which are hard to measure and often difficult to define. Some examples include a person’s ability to adapt to change, think creatively, or collaborate with team members.
It provides historical context. 38 . This is why people dedicate their lives to studying cave art, Shakespearean plays, and so much more. When we take the time to dive into art created in the past, we can learn about other generations and eras. We can study art to find out what those before us were facing and how they overcame it. 39 .
In therapy (疗法) settings, art also provides an opportunity for digging deeper and expressing emotions that are difficult to discuss. 40 . In one important study, children between 6 and 12 were asked to draw a house as a distraction after thinking about something upsetting. This group was able to improve their mood when compared with children who were instructed to draw the negative event or simply copy another drawing.

Everyone at school called her “Silent Meher”, not because she couldn’t speak, but because she chose not to. Since childhood, Meher had struggled with a serious stutter (口吃). Whenever she tried to speak in class, her words were stuck in her throat. Her classmates made fun of her stutter, “H-h-h-h! M-M-Meher!” Even one of her teachers once said, “Just write it down, Meher; it’ll be faster.”
Meher learnt quickly that silence was safer. Thus she kept to herself, sitting in the classroom corner with her pad, where her pencil became her voice. She drew worlds where she could speak freely and no one judged her. Yet, no one even saw her art — not because she didn’t want them to, but because no one ever asked.
Then came the school’s yearly talent show. Posters everywhere read: “Find Your Voice!” How funny, Meher thought. But her art teacher, Miss Sofia, noticed the quiet girl always alone, always drawing. One day, she looked over Meher’s shoulder and what she saw took her breath away. “Meher...these are beautiful. Why don’t you hand them in to the talent show?” Meher shook her head in nervousness. “G-go on st-tage?” she stuttered, her voice shaky. “In f-r-o-nt- of th-em?” But Miss Sofia smiled gently, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. “What if you didn’t have to speak...just show your story?” For the first time, hope sprang up in Meher’s eyes.
That night, an idea popped into Meher’s mind: animation! What if she told her story through animation? Over the next two weeks, she threw her heart into it. Using her pad and a borrowed screen from Miss Sofia, Meher created a short film called “The Girl Behind the Curtain”. The girl in the film stuttered, too, but every time someone made fun of her, a curtain grew taller around her. Slowly, with each kind word and moment of courage, the girl pulled holes in the curtain until sunlight shone through.

范文一
On the night of the show, Meher stood nervously behind the stage curtain. Her heart was pounding like a drum and her palms were sweaty. When her name was called, she took a deep breath and walked onto the dark stage. With her animation appearing on the screen, the audience fell silent, totally absorbed in the story of the silent girl behind the curtain. When the final scene showed sunlight bursting through the holes, lighting up the girl's smiling face, all the people burst into thunderous applause. Meher stood in the spotlight, tears welling up in her eyes. He realized that she had finally been heard without uttering a single word.
After the show, classmates began approaching Meher and talking to her. “Your animation was amazing,” one girl said sincerely. “I never knew you were so talented.” Another boy added, “I’m sorry we made fun of you.” For the first time, there was respect in their voices when they spoke to her. Meher felt a wave of warmth spreading through her body as she smiled shyly at them. Though she still stuttered when she tried to speak, no one laughed at her. Instead, they waited patiently for her to finish, which gave Meher great courage. Since then, Mesher has become a confident, optimistic, and outgoing child who is not afraid to express herself.
范文二
On the night of the show, Meher stood nervously behind the stage curtain. She wouldn’t step on the stage, but her creation would. With the film beginning, the hall was in silence, then whispers, and then tears. When the final image disappeared and the simple words “By Meher” showed, the audience erupted into thunderous applause. Even the ones who had made fun of her stood up and clapped. Her “friends”, who used to copy her stutter, avoided eye contact now. But it wasn’t shame that made them look away, but a sudden, deep respect.
After the show, classmates began approaching Meher and talking to her. “That was so awe-inspiring,” someone said. “You’re really brave, Meher,” said another. One girl whispered, “I st-ut-ter t-o-” Meher met her eyes and offered a warm, understanding smile. She didn’t need to say much; the connection was already there, wordless but strong. From that day on, “Silent Meher” disappeared. Surrounded by warmth, kindness and understanding, she became confident and wasn’t the girl with the stutter anymore. She was the girl who told stories and shared laughter. She lived a life full of happiness and hope.

Special Selling Points
Find your restaurant’s unique selling points and feature them on your poster. Do you offer farm-to-table freshness? Highlight it! Are you known for exceptional service? Make it a key point of the poster. Show what sets you apart from the competition and makes your restaurant a must-visit destination.
Social Media Engagement
Make people interact more on social media by adding your restaurant’s social media accounts and hashtags (标签) to the poster. Promote engagement by inviting customers to share their dining experiences, post food photos, or leave reviews. This not only creates a sense of community but also helps attract new customers.
Making an effective restaurant poster requires a combination of creativity, strategic messaging, and visual appeal. By including these elements, you can create attention-drawing posters that attract your customers, inspire them to visit your restaurant, and ultimately boost your business’s success.

A.It helps all of us develop necessary soft skills.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
On the night of the show, Meher stood nervously behind the stage curtain.

19.How often should people change their workout plans?
A.Every other month. B.Once a month. C.Twice a month.

A.By participating in a marathon.
B.By sticking to the original plan.
C.By exercising and resting properly.
【答案】18.B 19.B 20.C
【原文】M: Thank you all for joining our wellness workshop. I’m Richard Simmons. Before we begin, I want to share some advice. Staying active is essential for a healthy lifestyle, but it’s important to avoid common workout mistakes. The first error is the lack of variety in exercise. Engaging in the same routine can lead you to see no progress. To prevent this, I suggest changing your workout plans monthly. Do diverse activities like yoga to improve flexibility, or weightlifting to build strength. Variety not only prevents boredom but also improves your overall fitness. Another common error is over-training. It’s important to understand that rest is just as crucial for muscle recovery and growth as the workout itself. It’s not always about the intensity or frequency of your workouts. I recommend aiming for two intense sessions per week. On the days you’re not pushing yourself hard, consider engaging in lighter activities, such as fast walking or leisurely cycling. This approach balances physical effort with recovery. It’s also advisable to have at least one day of complete rest weekly to allow your body to fully recover. Remember, wellness is a marathon; listen to your body and make adjustments accordingly.

【答案】24.B 25.B 26.C 27.B
【解析】本文是一篇记叙文。文章主要讲述作者学习中文的经历、取得的进步、遇到的挑战及收获,鼓励非中文学习者坚持学习。
24.细节理解题。根据第一段中“With a thirst for a new challenge, I decided to begin my language journey and my only regret is that I didn’t start earlier.(怀着对新挑战的渴望,我决定开启我的语言之旅,我唯一的遗憾是没有早点开始)”可知,作者唯一的遗憾是没有更早开始学习中文。故选B。
25.词句猜测题。根据第二段中“When I speak to native speakers in Chinese, they almost always understand me. I also find it not too difficult to remember characters and I am now even able to write over 400 characters.(当我用中文和母语者交流时,他们几乎都能听懂我。我也发现记汉字并不太难,现在我甚至能写400多个汉字)”可知,学习中文并没有作者曾经想象的那么难,故 “insurmountable”意为“难以克服的、不可战胜的”。B选项“Unbeatable(不可战胜的)”符合题意。故选B。
26.推理判断题。根据第四段中“Learning Chinese not only helps me in day-to-day life, but deepens my cultural understanding of such a colourful and beautiful country.(学习中文不仅在日常生活中帮助了我,还加深了我对这个多姿多彩、美丽国度的文化理解)”可推断,学习中文帮助作者更多地了解了中国文化。故选C。
27.主旨大意题。通读全文,作者围绕自己学习中文的经历展开,讲述了学习初衷、取得的进步、遇到的挑战(如听力)、收获(如文化理解)及对他人的鼓励。因此选项B. “The writer shares his experience and feelings of learning Chinese.(作者分享了他学习中文的经历和感受)”最能概括文章主旨。故选B。
C
【答案】28. B 29. C 30. B 31. D
根据文章第三段,“grass-based diets resulted in cheese with more healthy fats and higher counts of good bacteria.”(以牧草为基础的饮食产出的奶酪含有更多健康脂肪和更高数量的有益细菌。)选项B中的“more healthy substances”(更多健康物质)是对此信息的准确概括。选项A错误,因为第二段提到玉米饲料“did not affect the amount of milk cows produced”。选项C错误,虽然玉米饲料减少了甲烷,但这是玉米饲料的优点,而非牧草饲料的。选项D在文中未提及。
29. 推理判断题。根据文章第四段,“In warmer places like Brazil, farmers are already making changes. One dairy producer is moving his cows from open fields to indoor buildings to keep them comfortable.”(在像巴西这样较热的地方,农民们已经在做出改变。 选项A与原文“moving his cows from open fields to indoor buildings”相悖。选项B中的“perfect solution”过于绝对,文中未提及。选项D在文中没有依据。
30. 细节理解题。根据文章第四段,“Cows produce heat when they digest food. So if they are already feeling hot, they’ll eat less to cool down... The animals also use energy to fight heat-related stress, which can make them weaker and more likely to get sick.”(奶牛消化食物时会产生热量。
文章结尾再次强调,“as climate change continues, we will notice its effects, even in our daily cheese.”(随着气候变化的持续,我们会注意到它的影响,即使是在我们日常的奶酪中。)这表明作者的目的是通过一个具体而微小的例子,揭示气候变化对我们日常生活的广泛而微妙的影响,从而引发读者的关注。选项D“To show a subtle impact of climate change on daily life.”(展示气候变化对日常生活的一个微妙影响)最能概括作者的写作意图。选项A、B、C都过于片面,只涉及文章的局部信息,未能抓住全文主旨。
D
【答案】32. B 33. C 34. C 35. B
根据文章第一段第二句,“It suggests that ordinary moments are given extra staying power if they are linked to a significant event…”(研究表明,如果平淡的时刻与重要事件联系起来,它们就会被赋予更强的持久力…),可知普通记忆是通过与重要事件联系起来得到加强的。选项B与此意相符。选项A(频繁重复)、C(与相似记忆分组)和D(用特殊奖励)在文章中均未提及。
33. 推理判断题。根据文章第三段第一句,“This discovery shows that the brain actively saves weak memories that might otherwise disappear.”(这一发现表明,大脑会主动拯救那些否则可能消失的脆弱记忆),可以推断出大脑的记忆系统是为了防止有用信息的丢失。
根据文章第三段最后一句,“However, researchers found one limitation: if the ordinary memory itself is also emotional, the enhancement effect is weaker.”(然而,研究人员发现一个限制:如果普通记忆本身也带有情感,那么增强效应就会减弱。),可知当普通记忆本身也情绪化时,这种增强效应会变弱。选项B与此完全一致。选项A(当重要事件是负面时)文章未说会减弱效应;选项C(当记忆间没有视觉联系时)只影响事件“之前”的记忆,不具普遍性;选项D(当重要事件很久前发生时)文章未提及。

第二节(共10小题;每小题1. 5分, 满分15分)
阅读下面短文,在空白处填入1个适当的单词或括号内单词的正确形式。
(原创题)In the dry Gobi Desert near Dunhuang lies the Site of Xuanquanzhi, 56 ancient posthouse(驿站) that dates back over 2,000 years. This place, once a busy center 57 the famous Silk Road, is hard to imagine today. However, historical records show it was a vital hub for communication and travel in ancient times.
A major excavation between 1990 and 1992 uncovered over 70,000 relics here. The most important discovery was more than 35,000 wooden slips with writing on them. These ancient records describe events like the reception of a foreign delegation, 58 consumed large amounts of food and drink during their stay. Such details provide a vivid picture of the past.
These slips offer 59 (value) first-hand information for studying the history of the Silk Road. They reveal how the ancient postal system worked and how people from different cultures 60 (communicate). For example, a personal letter found on silk asked a friend for help with shopping, 61 (give) us a rare look into the daily life of ordinary people who lived over two millennia ago.
The site itself was large and well-organized, with different areas for different 62 (purpose). As a key station on the Silk Road, it served for more than four centuries. Because of its great historical value, it 63 (recognize) as a national key cultural relic unit in 2001 and later added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
To bring this history back to life, the site is being turned into a new tourist destination. A visitor center and a market are under construction, 64 a replica of the posthouse will also be built 65 (help) visitors imagine its past glory. It is expected to open to the public soon, allowing more people to learn about this amazing piece of history.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

【写作范文】
