1.— Paul, what were you doing at eight last night?
— I______ my homework at home.
A.did B.was doing C.has done D.had done
例句:He was dead in 1990. 题中,do my homework做我的作业。 Paul, what were you doing at eight last night? I was doing my homework at home.
例句:He was dead in 1990.

When you open a certain mobile app, there’s usually an open-app advertisement that gets in your way. Some of these ads can send you to another app if you shake your phone a bit. And this has been causing heated discussion online recently.
These open-app ads act like “doors”—no matter which app you open, you may always end up in those apps that have more ads. During online shopping festivals, for example, users are usually led to shopping apps like Taobao and JD.
There are already a number of rules on this problem. A rule that came out in December 2022 gave specific (明确的,具体的) requirements for how these “shake-to-open” ads should operate. It said that the rotation angle (旋转角度) of the phone should be larger than 35 degrees, and the time spent shaking the phone should be longer than 3 seconds. Starting from May, the ads must have a clear button to let users close them.
However, putting these regulations (法规,规章) into action can be difficult. The total number of apps is large, making it hard to look into every app. There were at least 2.59 million new apps in January and February alone, reported Nanfang Daily.
However, this shouldn’t be the reason for the mobile apps to step out of these “lines” and take advantage. That way, what all the platforms (平台) really get is people’s complaints (抱怨,投诉). Over 90 percent of users strongly dislike such open-app ads, according to the Jiangsu Consumer Council.
Such ads hurt an app’s reputation (声誉) because fewer users may want to use them after being taken to other apps too many times. To attract the users, the apps should respect their choices and provide them with ads that they can choose to click on only if they want to.
29.What does the phrase “gets in your way” mean in Paragraph 1?
A.Prevents you from entering the app. B.Leads you to another app.
C.Forces you to buy something useless. D.Steals your personal information.
30.In Paragraph 2, Taobao and JD are used as examples of ________.
A.apps that have open-app ads
B.apps that open-app ads lead to
C.apps that were discussed heatedly recently
D.apps that many people go shopping online with
31.It is difficult to put these rules into action because ________.
A.it’s difficult to manage the app developers
B.users really need these open-app ads
C.apps have more new ways to present ads
D.it’s hard to make rules for all apps
32.What is probably the writer’s opinion?
A.More ads will give apps good rules.
B.Users mind products more than ads in apps.
C.Apps should let users decide whether to open the ads.
D.Apps have made too much money from open-app ads.
【答案】29.A 30.B 31.D 32.C
根据第一段“Some of these ads can send you to another app if you shake your phone a bit.”可知,一些广告会干扰你,比如摇晃手机就会把你带到另一个应用,所以“gets in your way”意思是“阻止你进入应用”,与“Prevents you from entering the app.” 故选A。
根据第二段“These open-app ads act like ‘doors’—no matter which app you open, you may always end up in those apps that have more ads. During online shopping festivals, for example, users are usually led to shopping apps like Taobao and JD.”
根据第四段“However, putting these regulations (法规,规章) into action can be difficult. The total number of apps is large, making it hard to look into every app.”
根据最后一段“To attract the users, the apps should respect their choices and provide them with ads that they can choose to click on only if they want to.”
C
Your third year of middle school is probably a hard and busy time. You may have trouble getting enough sleep. We all know that not getting enough sleep is bad for our health. But it has been found that less sleep could even cause you to have fewer friends.
According to research, people who don’t get enough sleep can be less willing to communicate with others. They can be simply too tired to go out.
The researchers did a small study. They tested 18 young people who had just had a good night’s sleep and then tested them again after a sleepless night. The subjects (实验对象) watched videos. In the videos, people walked towards the subjects with no looks on their face. When the person on the video got too “close” to them, the subjects stopped the video. It recorded how close they allowed the person to get.
The results showed that the subjects kept the person 60 percent further back if they hadn’t got enough sleep. They felt that their personal space was being invaded (侵占) . But when the subjects got a good night’s sleep, they allowed the person to get much closer to them.
According to the researcher Mr Walker, the less sleep you get, the less you may want to communicate with others. As a result, other people may think you are strange and stay away from you. This can make you feel lonely and cause you to sleep even less. It becomes a vicious cycle. So if you want to be an easy-going and popular person, sleeping well might help. “One night of good sleep makes you feel more outgoing and confident,” Walker said.
33.What is the purpose of the research?
A.To test if young people watch videos at a short distance.
B.To find the reasons why young students can’t get enough sleep.
C.To study the influence of sleep on communicating with others.
D.To make it clear whether young people have enough sleep or not.
34.What does the underlined word “vicious” probably mean in paragraph 5?
A.nice B.bad C.lucky D.colourful
35.Which is Right according to Mr Walker?
A.Students in Grade 9 are too tired to get enough sleep.
B.People’s health will remain the same without enough sleep.

Your third year of middle school is probably a hard and busy time. You may have trouble getting enough sleep. We all know that not getting enough sleep is bad for our health. But it has been found that less sleep could even cause you to have fewer friends.
According to research, people who don’t get enough sleep can be less willing to communicate with others. They can be simply too tired to go out.
The researchers did a small study. They tested 18 young people who had just had a good night’s sleep and then tested them again after a sleepless night. The subjects (实验对象) watched videos.
