第四部分写作(共两节,满分40分)
第一节:One possible version:
Dear fellow schoolmate,
Recently, uncivilized behaviors have been on the rise across our campus, undermining our
orderly study environment.I'd like to call on everyone to take the initiative to make a change.
Discarding snack wrappers, empty bottles or used tissues on lawns or classroom floors instead
of trash bins leaves the campus messy.Talking loudly or play ing phone audios without headphones
in quiet zones like libraries disturbs others'focus and learning efficiency.Besides, casual use of
offensive language breeds disconnection and hostility. These acts not only spoil our study
environment but also erode mutual respect among peers.
It's essential for us to shoulder our responsibility and take action now.Small changes like
sorting rubbish, keeping voice low in public places and using polite and respectful language can
make a significant difference towards a more civilized campus.
第二节:
One possible version:
With a hint of hurt and surprise in his eyes,Jack gently approached me.He placed a hand on
my shoulder, asked me again what had happened.I took out my test paper and told him that I
would never match up to him in a choked voice.Jack's smile grew warmer, and he gave my
shoulder a reassuring squeeze."You don't have to measure up to anyone and your worth isn't
defined by grades or achievements. You're more than just a number on a test.Remember to be
yourself;everyone else is already taken."
His words were like a warm breeze, blowing my depression away and changing my mindset.
I was still engaged in endless tasks and deadlines, but I no longer felt constrained by my brother's
shadow.Realizing that comparison is the thief of joy,I strove for excellence instead of perfection,
which is often unattainable and can lead to burnout.I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders as I
realized that my value wasn't tied to a single test score.I felt more confident and less
overwhelmed as I know that believing in doing my best will always be the ultimate best score.

When Jane Goodall first set foot in Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania in 1960,few scientists
believed a young woman with no formal academic training could unlock the secrets of chimpanzee behavior.
Today,at89,she stands as one of the world's most celebrated primatologists(灵长类动物学家),whose work
has revolutionized our understanding of animal intelligence and reshaped global conservation efforts
Goodall's early days in Gombe were marked by patience and persistence. For months, the shy
chimpanzees fled at the sight of her, leaving her with little more than fleeting glimpses of their daily lives
Undiscouraged, she would sit quietly in the forest each day, observing from a distance. Her breakthrough

Not long ago,you had to physically hand over cash to buy something. You witnessed it exit your wallet.
You sensed it.But with payment services Klarna or Clearpay, you can now pay for a new phone in three
installments()and barely notice the difference.This isn't just a shopping habit;it's a reflection of
how we relate to money today. We are becoming increasingly free of the emotional burden of spending.
Additionally, our mental health is being profoundly affected by this quiet shift.
The popularity of Buy Now,Pay Later (BNPL)plans has skyrocketed. They promise freedom and
flexibility, but the ease of use can trick our minds. When payment is divided into smaller payments,we are
wired to feel less emotionally drained.Although the f15 payments seem insignificant, they quickly add up.
Psychologists found that when the act of paying is separated from the act of purchasing,we experience less
"pain of paying",which makes us more likely to overspend. In societies where digital credit is easily
accessible but financial education is limited, this behaviour can fall into lasting debt.Stress over money

For decades, scientists have identified chronic low-level inflammation ()-called"inflammaging"
as one of the primary drivers of age-related diseases.Think of it as your body's immune system stuck in
overdrive-constantly fighting battles that don't exist,gradually wearing down organs and systems.But a
new study challenges that idea and could reshape how we think about aging itself.
The research, published in Nature Aging, compared patterns of inflammation in four very different
communities around the world. Two groups were from modern, industrialised societies-older adults living
in Italy and Singapore. The other two were pristine communities who live more traditional lifestyles:the
Tsimane people of the Bolivian Amazon and the Orang Asli in the forests of Malaysia.
The researchers analysed blood samples from more than 2,800 people, looking at a wide range of
inflammatory molecules ()known as cytokines.Among the Italian and Singaporean participants, the
researchers found a fairly consistent inflammaging pattern. As people aged, levels of inflammatory markers in
the blood rose together.Higher levels were linked to a greater risk of chronic diseases including kidney
disease and heart disease. But in the Tsimane and OrangAsli populations, the inflammaging pattern was absent.
The same inflammatory molecules did not rise consistently with age,and they were not strongly linked to
age-related diseases. In fact, among the Tsimane, who face high rates of microorganism infections,
inflammation levels were often high.Yet this did not lead to the same rates of chronic diseases that are
common in industrialised nations.
These results raise important questions. One possibility is that inflammaging,at least as measured
through these blood signals,is not a universal biological feature of aging.Instead,it may arise in societies
marked by high-calorie diets, low physical activity and reduced exposure to infections.
In other words, chronic inflammation linked to aging and disease might not simply result from an

inevitable biological process, but rather from a mismatch between our ancient physiology and the modern
environment. If these findings are confirmed, they could have some significant consequences.
32.How is inflammaging related to aging in the established scientific view?
A.It attacks human organs.
B.It causes the inactivity of organs.
C.It generates overactive immune response.D.It lowers the efficiency of immune system.
33.What does the word"pristine"in paragraph 2 probably mean?
A.Unspoiled.
B.Unstable.
C.Unsafe
D.Unlivable
34.What has the study found about the Tsimane and Orang Asli people?
A.They seldom develop chronic diseases.
B.Their blood lacks inflammatory markers.
C.They rarely get exposed to sources of infection.
D.Their inflammation levels are independent of aging
35.What does the new study suggest?
A.Inflammaging is a signal of aging.
B.Inflammaging is biologically unavoidable.
C.Repeated infections hold back inflammaging.
D.Modern lifestyle contributes to inflammaging.

Negotiating is a fact of life-especially business life.36You need to convince others that an
idea or premise makes sense and show people how a decision will generate a desired return. Here are some
specific ways to make your negotiations more fun and successful.
Take the initiative to make the first bid.
The value of an offer is highly influenced by the first relevant number-an anchor-that enters a
negotiation.
37 Research shows that when a seller makes the first offer, the final price is typically
higher than if the buyer made the first offer. Why?The buyer's first offer will always be low. That sets a lower
anchor.
Never give without taking (in a good way).
Say a buyer asks you to cut your price;you should always get something in return by taking something
off the table.38 Follow the same logic if you are the buyer. If you make a second and higher offer,
always ask for something in return for that higher price.
39
While you probably do have the final word,if the other side knows you're the ultimate decision maker
that can sometimes leave you feeling cornered.Always have a reason to step away and get a final OK from
another person, even if that other person is just you. It's better to say,"I need to talk this over,"than to give in
to pressure to make a decision you don't want to make.
Use time to your advantage.
40
Haste always results in negotiation waste.Plus, there's another advantage to going slowly.
Even though money may never change hands, negotiations are still an investment in time--and most people
don't want to lose on their investments. The more time the other side puts in,the more they will want to close
the deal and make concessions.
A.Try to never negotiate“alone..”
B.Make the ultimate decision by yourself.
C.It strongly influences the rest of the negotiation.
D.Never try to wrap a negotiation up just to be done with it.
E.It has less to do with competition than simply communicating.
F.An opening bid primarily serves to show your goodwill in the deal.
G.Every price reduction or increase in value should involve a trade-off.
