Around 6 months ago, I started an experiment — all because I’d been spending too much time on my phone. Whether it was losing an hour on Reddit, or striking up vacuous conversations filled with empty, small talks, I knew this cycle had to stop. So I began with manageable changes. When I was at home, I’d switch it to silent mode so that it wouldn’t ring and bother me. To my amazement, those constant urges to check my phone slowly disappeared. But when I was out and about, keeping my phone at a distance obviously wasn’t an option. That’s when I found another fix: I turned off all notifications (通知) permanently, except for e-mails. Even now, if I get a text or a Snapchat, my phone stays quiet until I actually pick it up to use it. This felt strange at first. I was checking my phone more to see if anything would appear. But since I had turned off the vibration (震动), my phone became just another thing in my pocket like a wallet or my keys. The fact that these ideas were working surprised me. Wasting time was becoming less of an issue. It was a feeling of freedom. I wanted to take it to the next level by using the phone in a wise way. I downloaded life-tracking apps, idea apps, to-do lists, etc. for personal development. Instead of reaching for my phone to use Twitter, I want to reach to write an idea down or to take a cool photo. There were, of course, times when I slipped up — I’d waste an hour on Reddit. I had to realize that and stop right away. My time wasted to productivity ratio (比率) has entirely changed. I spend less than an hour a day on average on social apps down from an average of four hours a day. It’s something that I didn’t think would happen, but here I am. 4. What does the underlined word “vacuous” in paragraph 1 probably mean? A. Awkward. B. Pointless. C. Private. D. Casual. 5. What did Moeller do to resist checking his phone at home? A. He used it only for e-mails. B. He changed it to silent mode. C. He deleted some unused apps. D. He placed it at an invisible spot. 6. How did Moeller wisely use the phone? A. By avoiding it completely. B. By socializing through it. C. By developing creativity with it. D. By drawing on it for self-growth. 7. What does Moeller’s experience show? A. Time and tide wait for no man. B. Every cloud has a silver lining. C. Small changes go a long way. D. Lost time is never won again. B 5. B 6. D 7. 根据第一段中的“Whether it was losing an hour on Reddit, or striking up vacuous conversations filled with empty, small talks, I knew this cycle had to stop. (无论是在红迪网上浪费一个小时,还是进行满是空洞闲聊的vacuous对话,我知道这种循环必须停止。)”可知,“vacuous”与后文的“empty”是同义并列关系,意为“无意义的、空洞的”。故选B项。 【5题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段中的“When I was at home, I’d switch it to silent mode so that it wouldn’t ring and bother me. (当我在家时,我会把手机调成静音模式,这样它就不会响铃打扰我。)”可知,默勒在家时通过将手机调至静音模式来抵制频繁看手机的冲动。故选B项。 【6题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段中的“I wanted to take it to the next level by using the phone in a wise way. I downloaded life-tracking apps, idea apps, to-do lists, etc. for personal development. C A new kind of stethoscope (听诊器) that uses artificial intelligence (AI) can detect three different heart conditions in 15 seconds. Stethoscopes are devices that medical experts use to listen to most sounds in the body, such as a heartbeat. In the US, more than 6.5 million people have a condition called heart failure, when their heart muscle is not pumping (输送) blood properly. There are signs of the condition, including shortness of breath, but estimates show that 70% of people have the condition confirmed only after they have gone to the hospital for serious symptoms. Early detection by using this new stethoscope enables patients to receive lifesaving treatment sooner. The new device, which was developed in the UK, is the size of a playing card. Doctors put it on a patient’s chest, where it records the electrical signals in the heart and listens to the sound of blood flowing through it. This information is then sent to an AI system, which compares it to data from thousands of other people to see if there’s a problem. The results are immediately sent to a smartphone. The device was tested in a study with more than 12,700 people over the course of a year. The results showed that the AI stethoscope was able to detect unusual heart activity that a doctor might miss with a traditional stethoscope. Patients examined with the AI stethoscope were also twice as likely to have their heart failure spotted. And the device was 3.5 times more likely to detect atrial fibrillation, which is an irregular heartbeat, and was better at detecting when one or more of a patient’s heart valves were not working properly. The AI stethoscope does require some caution, however. The study found that the device often detected heart failure in patients who did not actually have it. The researchers who designed it said it should be used only when doctors suspect that a patient has heart problems, not for routine checks on healthy people. 8. What can we know about the new kind of stethoscope? A. It can be used to access all body sounds. B. It plays an important role in saving people. C. It can figure out people’s shortness of breath. D. It is able to spot many kinds of heart failures. 9. What does paragraph 3 mainly focus on? A. The new stethoscope’s using process. B. The new stethoscope’s wide application. C. The new stethoscope’s disadvantages. D. The new stethoscope’s hidden principle. 10. How does the author prove the new stethoscope’s effectiveness? A. By quoting experts. B. By providing data. C. By analyzing causes. D. By offering comments. 11. What is the author’s attitude towards the new stethoscope? A. Unfavorable. B. Unconcerned. C. Objective. D. Subjective. B 9. A 10. B 11. 根据第二段中的“Early detection by using this new stethoscope enables patients to receive lifesaving treatment sooner.(使用这种新型听诊器进行早期检测,能让患者更快地接受挽救生命的治疗。)” 根据第三段中的“The new device, which was developed in the UK, is the size of a playing card. Doctors put it on a patient’s chest, where it records the electrical signals in the heart and listens to the sound of blood flowing through it. This information is then sent to an AI system, which compares it to data from thousands of other people to see if there’s a problem. The results are immediately sent to a smartphone.(这款英国研发的新设备只有扑克牌大小。医生将其放置在患者胸部,它会记录心脏的电信号并监听血液流动的声音。随后这些信息会被发送到人工智能系统,该系统会将其与数千人的数据进行对比,判断是否存在异常。检测结果会实时发送到智能手机上。)”可知,该段主要围绕这款新型听诊器的使用流程展开介绍。故选A项。 根据第四段中的“The device was tested in a study with more than 12,700 people over the course of a year. The results showed that the AI stethoscope was able to detect unusual heart activity that a doctor might miss with a traditional stethoscope. Patients examined with the AI stethoscope were also twice as likely to have their heart failure spotted. And the device was 3.5 times more likely to detect atrial fibrillation, which is an irregular heartbeat, and was better at detecting when one or more of a patient’s heart valves were not working properly.(这款设备在一项为期一年、涉及12700多人的研究中接受了测试。结果显示,这款人工智能听诊器能够检测出医生使用传统听诊器可能遗漏的心脏异常活动。使用该听诊器检查的患者,其心力衰竭被发现的概率也提高了一倍。而且该设备检测心房颤动(一种心律不齐症状)的概率是传统听诊器的3.5倍,在检测患者心脏瓣膜异常方面也表现更优。)”可知,作者通过列举具体数据来证明这款新型听诊器的检测有效性。故选B项。 【11题详解】 推理判断题。根据全文内容,尤其是第四段对听诊器检测优势的数据说明,以及第五段中的“The AI stethoscope does require some caution, however. The study found that the device often detected heart failure in patients who did not actually have it. The researchers who designed it said it should be used only when doctors suspect that a patient has heart problems, not for routine checks on healthy people.(不过,使用这款人工智能听诊器确实需要谨慎。研究发现,该设备经常在实际未患心力衰竭的患者身上检测出病症。设备研发人员表示,它仅应在医生怀疑患者存在心脏问题时使用,不适用于健康人群的常规检查。)”可知,作者既客观阐述了该听诊器的优势,也明确指出了其局限性,没有偏向任何一方,态度客观公正。故选C项。 D Last week, Cornwall became the latest beauty spot on the planet to admit it was the victim of its own success in attracting tourists. Such is the increase in numbers that there’s hardly enough space to place a beach towel on the sands of Porthcurno beach and Kynance Cove. The local tourist board, tasked with getting people to come to the coast, has had to ask people to stay away. The long, hot summer pushed more people to the coast, but Cornwall’s overtourism problem highlights a number of familiar trends. Here are the reasons why the problem occurred. People now see nature itself as merely one more good to be consumed. Besides, many want to show their life free from nine-to-five work pressure. What’s more, more visit places from their favorite TV shows or movies. For Cornwall, fans of the BBC’s Poldark came in such large numbers that they threatened its quiet, beautiful coastal scenery — the very thing that drew them. Cities across Europe now regularly see locals taking to the streets to oppose everything from noise and litter to out-of-towners who tend to make house prices higher. Loose taxi laws have seen a sharp increase in ride-calling services like Uber blocking streets. However, those methods to solve the overtourism fail to better the situation. The solution lies not in shutting the doors to tourism. Destination managers must adopt an approach: using technology to distribute (分散) visitors more evenly, introducing means to deal with peak demand, and redirecting tourism income into community services. For travelers, respecting local life rules and choosing responsible places to stay can make a difference. As the tourism industry continues to come back, it’s crucial that we collectively rethink what it means to travel sustainably — for both visitors and the places we love. Relevant governments should take both into consideration and carry out reasonable policies to make sure everything goes smoothly without polluting local beauty. 12. What fact is pointed out in the first paragraph 1? A. Coasts in Cornwall are polluted. B. People in Cornwall are stressed. C. Few places in Cornwall are destroyed. D. Tourists make Cornwall overcrowded. 13. What is the function of paragraph 2? A. To explain why overtourism takes place. B. To clarify how beautiful places are ruined. C. To appeal to more people to travel in hot places. D. To encourage people to experience something new. 14. Which of the following can well describe European cities’ methods? A. Effective. B. Acceptable. C. Uncommon. D. Unworkable. 15. What has the author suggested for sustainable tourism? A. Promoting green lifestyle. B. Creating proper policies. C. Cutting the number of travelers. D. Carrying out rules for managers. D 13. A 14. D 15. 根据第一段中“Such is the increase in numbers that there’s hardly enough space to place a beach towel on the sands of Porthcurno beach and Kynance Cove. (游客数量激增,以至于在波斯库诺海滩和凯南斯湾的沙滩上,几乎连放一条沙滩巾的空间都找不到。)”可知,康沃尔因游客过多而人满为患,使其过度拥挤。故选D。 【13题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段中“Here are the reasons why the problem occurred. (以下是这一问题出现的原因。)”可知,本段旨在解释过度旅游发生的原因。故选A。 根据第三段中“However, those methods to solve the overtourism fail to better the situation. (然而,这些解决过度旅游的方法未能改善现状。)”可知,欧洲城市提出的这些方法是无效的。故选D。 【15题详解】 细节理解题。根据最后一段“As the tourism industry continues to come back, it’s crucial that we collectively rethink what it means to travel sustainably — for both visitors and the places we love. Relevant governments should take both into consideration and carry out reasonable policies to make sure everything goes smoothly without polluting local beauty. If you could develop any of a cat’s sensory abilities, which would you choose? Perhaps hearing, so you can identify each cockroach (蟑螂) in your building. ____16____ While big cats have perfect vision for spotting animals they hunt far across the grasslands, house cats don’t actually have great eyes. In 2013, artist Nickolay Lamm painted how the world looks through a cat’s eyes. Among other key differences, like their improved night vision, is their color perception. In these images, wide views of everything around look unclear. ____17____ Thus, Bruce Kornreich, an animal expert specializing in heart problems, explains what’s happening inside their eyes. “They do well with blues and yellow,” Kornreich adds. ____18____ It’s not because cats can only see these two colors, but they’re better at detecting these colors’ slight differences than others’. Blue is at one end of that spectrum (光谱) with a shorter wavelength at around 380 nanometers, while red is at the other end with long wavelengths at around 700 nm. ____19____ Instead, they don’t see them with the same richness of shade. Certain colors in Lamm’s cat-eye pictures look washed out and not as bright. Red, for example, looks “just kind of like a dark color,” Kornreich describes. Cats can better detect brightness on the blue-yellow end of the spectrum than the green-red end. Still, there aren’t necessarily any advantages that come with treating your cats with blue and yellow toys. If you’re disappointed that your cats can’t enjoy the Christmas season or, say, learn to read traffic lights, don’t wear an upset look. ____20____ A. After all, they can clearly see your facial expressions. B. That doesn’t mean that cats fail to see reds and greens. C. Many wonder what range of colors they can actually see. D. However, they have trouble distinguishing greens and reds. E. Cats are sensitive to colors in the same spectrum as humans. F. This sense helps world perception, yet sight won’t be your pick. G. But without good vision, you can’t precisely place cockroach poison. F 17. C 18. D 19. B 20. 【16题详解】 由上文“If you could develop any of a cat’s sensory abilities, which would you choose? Perhaps hearing, so you can identify each cockroach in your building. (如果你能拥有猫的任意一种感官能力,你会选哪种?或许是听觉吧,这样你就能识别出大楼里的每一只蟑螂。)”及下文“While big cats have perfect vision for spotting animals they hunt far across the grasslands, house cats don’t actually have great eyes. (虽然大型猫科动物拥有绝佳的视力,能发现草原远处它们要捕猎的动物,但家猫的视力其实并不出色。)”可知,空处要讲与“选择感官”相关的话题,选项F“This sense helps world perception, yet sight won’t be your pick. (这种感官有助于感知世界,但视力不会是你的选择。)”能承上启下,符合题意,该选项中的“This sense”指代上文的“hearing”,“pick”与上文的“choose”相呼应,且“sight”与下文的“vision”相呼应。故选F。 【17题详解】 由上文“In 2013, artist Nickolay Lamm painted how the world looks through a cat’s eyes. Among other key differences, like their improved night vision, is their color perception. In these images, wide views of everything around look unclear. (2013年,艺术家尼科莱・拉姆描绘出了猫眼中的世界模样。除了其他关键差异(比如它们更强的夜视能力),还有它们的颜色感知能力。在这些图像里,周围一切的广阔视野看起来都很模糊。)”及下文“Thus, Bruce Kornreich, an animal expert specializing in heart problems, explains what’s happening inside their eyes. (因此,专门研究心脏问题的动物专家布鲁斯・科恩莱希解释了它们眼睛内部的工作原理。)”可知,空处要讲与“猫眼对颜色的感知能力”相关的话题,选项C“Many wonder what range of colors they can actually see. (很多人想知道它们实际能看到哪些颜色。)”能承上启下,针对上文的模糊图像提出颜色感知的疑问,引出下文的专家解释,符合题意,该选项中的“they”指代上文的“a cat’s eyes”。故选C。 【18题详解】 由上文“‘They do well with blues and yellow,’ Kornreich adds. (‘它们能很好地分辨蓝色和黄色,’科恩莱希补充道。)”及下文“It’s not because cats can only see these two colors, but they’re better at detecting these colors’ slight differences than others’. Blue is at one end of that spectrum with a shorter wavelength at around 380 nanometers, while red is at the other end with long wavelengths at around 700 nm. (这并非因为猫只能看到这两种颜色,而是它们比其他颜色更擅长察觉这两种颜色的细微差别。蓝色位于光谱的一端,波长较短,约380纳米,而红色位于另一端,波长较长,约700纳米。)”可知,空处要讲与“猫更擅长分辨哪种颜色”相关的话题,选项D“However, they have trouble distinguishing greens and reds. (不过,它们很难区分绿色和红色。)”使用转折与上文形成对比,指出猫在颜色区分上的弱点,与下文解释猫更擅长蓝黄光谱的逻辑一致,符合题意,该选项中的“have trouble distinguishing”与上文的“do well with”相对应。故选D。 【19题详解】 由下文“Instead, they don’t see them with the same richness of shade. (相反,它们无法分辨这些颜色丰富的色调。)”可知,前后句构成转折对比,选项B“That doesn’t mean that cats fail to see reds and greens. (但这并不意味着猫看不到红色和绿色。)”与下文构成转折,形成“不是……而是……”的对比结构,语义连贯,符合题意,下文的“them”指代该选项中的“reds and greens”。故选B。 20题详解】 由上文“If you’re disappointed that your cats can’t enjoy the Christmas season or, say, learn to read traffic lights, don’t wear an upset look. (如果你因为猫无法欣赏圣诞节的色彩,或者说无法看懂交通信号灯而感到失望,别面露沮丧。)”可知,此处对于猫主人提出建议,空处讲提出该建议的原因,选项A“After all, they can clearly see your facial expressions. (毕竟,它们能清楚地看到你的面部表情。)”解释了上文的建议,承接上文,符合题意,该选项中的“facial expressions”与上文的“look”相呼应。故选A。 Last month, I talked about my recreational shopping on my social media. I wondered if it was a ____21____ addiction. A psychologist commented, “addiction is the perfect ____22____”, which made me admit my shopping addiction and determined to share how I ____23____ it. My daily virtual shopping had addiction ____24____: I knew I shouldn’t log on, yet I did so, and even cheated my husband about ____25____. She always believed that she should stick to the good qualities she had in high school—studying hard and aiming for progress. Ever since she started her undergraduate studies, she had a clear plan: to pursue further study in her major field after graduation. However, she knew that getting into a good graduate school required more than just good academic grades; all-round development also mattered a lot. One day, Vicky saw a notice that the school library was recruiting (招募) volunteers. Her teacher Prof. Sam said this would be a great chance to prove her comprehensive quality. No matter how her performance was, she would get a volunteer service certificate at the end of the term. With her excellent communication skills, Vicky passed the interview and became a library volunteer. Initially, Vicky was full of enthusiasm. But soon, she forgot the real purpose of being a volunteer. Every time she was on duty, she would sit at the work station and read her professional textbooks instead of doing her work. Her main tasks included classifying books, helping students find books and sticking labels on new books. But she paid little attention to them. Once, a girl named Lily asked Vicky where the literature section was. Vicky didn’t even look up from her book and just pointed to the corner, saying, “Over there. Can’t you see the sign?” Lily felt awkward and had to search for the books by herself. As the term came to an end, the library carried out an evaluation for the volunteers. Students who had received help from the volunteers were asked to score them. Because of Vicky’s bad performance, almost everyone gave her a low score. Though Vicky got her volunteer service certificate, she thought about how she had behaved during the past few months and felt extremely ashamed. To her, the certificate was more like a joke. At night, Vicky asked Prof. Sam about the meaning of volunteering. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Soon, the new term came, and Vicky really made many changes. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 At night, Vicky asked Prof. Sam about the meaning of volunteering. Prof. Sam looked at her gently and said, “Volunteering is never about getting a certificate to polish your resume. It’s about devoting your time and energy to helping others sincerely.” Prof. Sam also mentioned that the library volunteer position was a chance to practice responsibility and communication, which are crucial for all-round development. Vicky nodded repeatedly, with tears of regret in her eyes. She made up her mind to correct her mistakes. Soon, the new term came, and Vicky really made many changes. She signed up to be a library volunteer again, this time with a totally different attitude. On duty, she put her textbooks aside and focused on her work. She took the initiative to help students find books, carefully classified new arrivals, and stuck labels neatly. When someone asked for directions, she smiled and led them to the exact section instead of just pointing vaguely. At the end of the term, she got a high score in the volunteer evaluation. This time, the certificate she received was no longer a joke, but a true proof of her growth and effort. 词类激活 行为类 ①决定:make up her mind/be determined/decide ②提及:mention/refer to ③报名:sign up/register 情绪类 ①温柔地:gently/softly ②后悔:regret/remorse 【点睛】【高分句型1】Prof. Sam also mentioned that the library volunteer position was a chance to practice responsibility and communication, which are crucial for all-round development.(运用了that引导的宾语从句和which引导的定语从句) 【高分句型2】 When someone asked for directions, she smiled and led them to the exact section instead of just pointing vaguely.(运用了when引导的时间状语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 绝密★启用前 (点石联考) 试卷类型:A 2025年点石联考东北“三省一区”高三年级12月份联合考试 英语 本卷满分150分,考试用时120分钟。 1. D Last week, Cornwall became the latest beauty spot on the planet to admit it was the victim of its own success in attracting tourists. Last month, I talked about my recreational shopping on my social media. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
