No doctor has ever considered that a shirt can save a patient’s lie. But on a family summer vacation in 2017. Rob Leibowitz wore a T-shirt while walking around Disney World with the words: “In Need of Kidney, O Positive.” A few months after a picture was posted on Facebook, Leibowitz, who had been on the list for several year, had a successful surgery with a kidney donated (捐赠的肾脏) by a complete stranger. Although this story might be unusual, it made me wonder: can medicine and fashion intersect in other ways?
They might seem like as strange a combination as red and green. Yet fashion is already being considered in heath care settings. For example, the effect (影响) of hospital gowns on patients has been studied, and many patients report feeling a loss of privacy (隐私) when putting on a gown. The gown even drove patients to have the idea that they were unwell.
As a result, designers (设计师) have rethought what a patient gown could look like. Such redesigns have not been widely accepted by hospitals yet, perhaps because the gowns have to be cheap, easy to make and easily washable. However, gowns in different sizes and colors might help give the patients a feeling of control and support—especially when so much is out of their control.
In fact, creative solutions to patient gowns have already been shown to have some positive effects. At Weill Cornell, young patients undergoing MRI scans (核磁共振检查) were given an “MRI-am-a-Hero” kit to make the experience feel like part of a superhero adventure. Researchers found that the number of kids who needed medicine to stay calm decreased (减少).
My own experience also has shown me the value of thinking about how important fashion can be in medical settings. A few years ago, I was working on a study about how patients could find kidney donors through social networks. I remember asking one woman about her pink shirt, with “Help Me Find a Kidney” on the front and a picture of her and her family printed on the back. “Every time I put it on,” she explained, “I am reminded that there is still hope.”
23.The underlined word “intersect” in Paragraph 1 probably means “________”.
A.get connected B.become different C.be compared D.stay expensive
24.The writer probably agrees that ________.
A.making gowns easily washable is unimportant
B.redesigning gowns needs much money and new tools
C.gowns with creative designs can help patients get support
D.patients with terrible illnesses must post their needs online
25.What can be the best title for the article?
A.Dressing for Heath B.Fashion Will Never Leave
C.Ideas with Imagination D.Patients Ate Always Waiting

Podareva, a 29-year-old poet (诗人) from Russia, has loved poetry since she was a kid. After growing up, she wrote many poems in both Russian and English. But when she came to China to study in 2013, the world of Chinese poetry opened up before her.
“One thing that strikes me in reading and writing Chinese poetry is the power of the language— it’s melodious (悦耳的) and rhythmic,” said Podareva.
Podareva has had many exciting experiences in China. But her most- loved memory is when she turned her poetry into a song titled If. “I wanted to create something positive to help boost (提高) people’s spirits in times of difficulty,” Podareva said.
Podareva wrote, “I have come to love this land, growing up with its brave people … I’d let China take my burning heart.” This poem shows her support for China.
The poem caught the attention of Zhu Hai, a music lover in Zhejiang Province. He turned it into a song, and they finally met in Shanghai in March 2023 to record it together.
Podareva believes singing is the best way to express Chinese poetry because the language flows like music. Her journey reflects a beautiful connection (连接) between her Russian roots (根) and her love for China.
26.When did Podareva begin to love poetry?
A.When she was a child. B.When she was 29 years old.
C.When she studied in China. D.When she met Zhu Hai in Shanghai.
27.Why did Podareva turn her poetry into the song If?
A.She wanted to encourage people to love this land.

D.She wanted to encourage people to go through the difficult times.
28.What is the best way to express Chinese poetry according to Podareva?
A.Travelling. B.Singing. C.Writing. D.Dancing.
29.What do we know about Podareva from the passage?

B.She is a Russian singer who loved poetry at a young age.
C.She taught Zhu Hai to write poems after they knew each other.
D.She met Zhu Hai in Zhejiang Province and they became friends.

Each year on Feb 21, UNESCO ( 联合国教科文组织) holds an International Mother Language Day (IMLD, 国际母语日 ) to help prevent the disappearance (消失) of the world’s languages; many of them are disappearing each year. UNESCO sees this as a terrible fact.
What happens when a language dies out? Something great is lost—not just sounds and signs but the way that people understand the world and communicate with each other. We keep different cultures and traditions through languages. Kill a language and all these are killed too.
Through IMLD, more and more people come to realize the terrible situation and try to stop it.
Google’s 2018 Endangered (濒临灭绝的) Languages Project is a good example. Many speakers and protectors of endangered languages upload (上传) texts, audios, and videos to the project website. They want to introduce the way that people communicate and express themselves around the world.
The Myaamia Project is the same kind of project to revive the language spoken by the Miami tribes (部落) of the United States. Project members work to support people in studying and communicating with this language, which died out in the 1960s.
These activities give life to those endangered languages. People who work to keep languages alive are not limited to the past. Many young people design apps and use social media to support their activities. They use words to save the world.
So, while the problem of disappearing languages is still a very serious one, there is hope. We all have a special feeling for our mother language. This is why we should remember the wise words of the late president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela, “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to a man in his own language, that goes to his heart.”
30.What did people do in Google’s 2018 Endangered Languages Project?
A.Discuss how to make good use of Google.
B.Offer online courses on endangered languages.
C.Share things about endangered languages online.
D.Translate endangered languages into mother languages.
31.What does the underlined word “revive” mean in Paragraph ( 段落) 5?
A.to cause something B.to learn something
C.to bring something back to life D.to take away something
32.What can we infer (推断) from Paragraph 6?
A.It is more difficult to protect endangered languages.
B.The disappearance of languages has already stopped.
C.Young people don’t care about endangered languages.
D.Young people have new ways to protect languages.
33.The writer mentions Nelson Mandela’s words in order to ________.
A.tell the importance of one’s mother language
B.show his actions to protect languages
C.tell the trouble in learning endangered languages
D.show that it is possible to protect mother languages

Think about how much time you spent outside last week. Really “outside,” walking from the car into the mall doesn’t count.
Now think about how much time you spent indoors—on the Internet or playing video games or watching TV.
You may say, “I play inside more than outside and I like to play games on the computer.” If so, it’s likely that you spent more time inside four walls than outside in fresh air. Kids today spend two fewer hours per week on sports and outdoor activities than kids did 20 years ago. “The costs include overweight, greater stress, higher rates of physical and emotional illness and less joy…” says Richard Louv, the writer of Last Child in the Boods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder.
Play is important, even for adults. ________.
Outdoor activity betters your feelings. The next time you sit down to message your friends, take note of your feelings during and after your texting. Then do the same thing after you’ve done something outside. You will find being outdoors brings different kinds of feelings. “Hiking, climbing, and fishing help hone all of your feelings,” says Betsy Keller. She’s a professor of exercise and sports sciences at a college in New York. “When you’re outside you use your feelings like smell and hearing better.”
Playing outside can help you relax your mind. Do you feel very stressed? Is it hard for you to focus on what you are doing? Spending too much time inside and away from nature may be the reason. Betsy has a name for the group of problems caused (引起) by spending too much time indoors. It’s called “nature deficit disorder”. She says, “I use this term to talk about something bad we get from being so far away from nature.”
Spending time outside can make you get closer to nature. When you are outdoors, you can take in fresh air, hear the leaves make sounds under your feet and look for cool birds and plants in the forest. It can help you feel more connected to the natural world. Don’t have a forest near your home? You can find nature right outside your back door or in your neighborhood park.
So the next time you sit down to play a video game, think about going outside to play instead.
34.Which sentence should we put in ________ in Paragraph 4?
A.Outdoor play helps form relationships.
B.Getting outdoors does help in many ways.
C.Nature can remind us of life beyond our worries.
D.The outdoors is the best place to practice physical skills.
35.Which word is closest to the meaning of “hone” in Paragraph 5?
A.improve B.part C.introduce D.include
36.Which of the following is a good way to enjoy outdoor play?
A.Walking from your car into the mall.
B.Spending your free time with TV drama series.
C.Playing a video game of making sandcastles by the beach.
D.Watching in your local park how fast the clouds are moving.

Chinese paper-cutting is one of the most popular art forms. It has a long history. The first piece of paper-cutting appeared (出现) in western China around the 6th century. From the 7th to 13th century, paper-cutting became popular especially during Chinese festivals. The art was introduced to the world in the 14th century.
In the beginning, Chinese people used thin materials like leaves to make the cutting. After paper was invented, they found that this material was easy to cut. 37
People make paper-cutting to show beautiful things and their good wishes. They also show traditional culture or their own feelings with different styles of paper-cutting. People include everything in paper-cutting, from great people to the things that we can find in everyday life such as birds, flowers and animals. 38 The most common five characters are “福 (blessing)”, “禄 (career)”, “寿 (long life)”, “喜 (happiness)”, “财 (wealth)”. These characters show people’s hope for those five parts of life.
39 People only need a piece of paper and a pair of scissors or a knife. But to make this art perfect is not easy at all because it needs a lot of hard work, practice, skills and imagination. There are two ways of making paper-cutting. 40 Using scissors can make a few pieces of paper-cutting at a time by cutting a few pieces of paper together, while using knives can make only one piece at a time.
In some parts of China, people think paper-cutting is an important skill for women and a sign of clever mind.
A.We need to learn some cutting skills.
B.It is easy to learn how to make paper-cutting.
C.One is using scissors, and the other is using knives.
D.A piece of paper-cutting has a certain meaning behind it.
E.And then paper became the main material for paper-cutting.
F.There are also some Chinese characters in traditional Chinese paper-cutting.

Once upon a time, there were two very famous men named Zhuge Liang and Zhou Yu. The people of China have been telling their story for a very long time.
One day, Zhou Yu asked Zhuge Liang to make 100,000 arrows (箭) for him. Zhuge Liang confidently replied, “No problem! I’ll bring you 100,000 arrows in just three days.”
To keep his promise (诺言), Zhuge Liang had a clever plan. He asked his soldiers (士兵) to fill twenty big boats with lots of strawmen. On the third day, very early in the morning, they made the boats go towards the camps of Cao Cao’s soldiers, which were on the other side of the river.
When they reached the camps, Zhuge Liang’s soldiers started shouting loudly and playing their drums (鼓). Cao Cao’s soldiers heard the noise and thought they were under attack (攻击). But they couldn’t see clearly who was attacking them because of the thick fog on the river.
Not wanting to take any chances, Cao Cao asked his soldiers to shoot arrows at the sounds of the shouts and drums. To their surprise, the arrows started hitting the strawmen on Zhuge Liang’s boats. Very soon, the boats were filled with arrows.
After that, Zhuge Liang’s soldiers turned the boats around and shouted back, “Thank you for your arrows, Cao Cao!” Zhuge Liang had successfully collected more than 100,000 arrows. He then took all the arrows and gave them to Zhou Yu, showing that he could keep his promise.

He then took all the arrows and gave them to Zhou Yu, showing that he could keep his promise.

boy男孩;man人;cat猫;dog狗。根据“To his great surprise, he 4 himself looking at 1,000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as 5 .”
down向下;up向上;through贯穿;past经过。根据“When he arrived,”当他到达时。
根据“To his great surprise, he 4 himself looking at 1,000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as 5 .”
look是不及物动词,需与at连用才可以跟宾语,因此选项D不对;根据“He looked into the door with his ears lifted high…”
故选A。
根据“I will come back and visit often.”
根据“…and hung his head low as he looked into the door.”
根据“he barked at 10 .” 故选A。
him他;them他们;us 我们;you你们。根据“When he saw the 1,000…”
since从……以后;or或者;but但是;and和,并且。句子This is a terrible place 和句子I will never go back there again.
根据“What kind of reflections (反照) do you see on the faces of the people you meet?” 故选A。
In this same village, 7 little dog was not quite as happy as the first one.

故填an。
根据“It takes place on the fifteenth day of the… lunar month,”可知,此处表示“第八个农历月”,应用序数词,eight的序数词是eighth。故填eighth。
故填from。
“avoid doing sth.”
根据“the deep cultural value and significance of this traditional festival remain unchanged and continue to be cherished by people of all ages.” 故填However。
pass“传递”,是动词;“promise to do sth.” 故填to pass。
根据“making… studies and research into its historical origins and development through different dynasties.”
“be beneficial to…”

Adjust mindset in time, be a better you
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Adjust mindset in time, be a better you
The three pictures show different reactions of students facing a challenging question. Some become “complainers”, blaming the examiners angrily; others turn into “quitters”, crying over their setback and feeling their efforts wasted. In contrast, a few choose to be “movers”, setting aside their disappointment to focus on the next subject.
Adjusting mindset in time is crucial. It helps us overcome setbacks, maintain confidence, and perform better in future tasks. Complaining or giving up only worsens the situation, while a positive attitude opens doors to improvement.
As a student preparing for next year’s exam, I will adopt the “movers” attitude. If I encounter a tough question, I will take a deep breath, skip it temporarily, and return later with a calm mind. After the exam, I’ll analyze my mistakes to improve. This way, I can turn challenges into opportunities for growth.
