Here’s a look at some national parks in China worth visiting.
Giant Panda National Park
The park covers 27,134 km2 of mountainous land in Central China’s Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces. It protects the habitats of about 1,340 wild giant pandas, a species found only in China. The best time to see this park is between April and October when the weather is warmest, vegetation (植被) is thickest, and giant pandas are most active. Visitors can observe the daily activities of pandas, including climbing trees, playing, eating, and tumbling.
Three-river-source National Park
In northwest China’s Qinghai Province, the park covers 190,700 km2, making it China’s largest park. Three-river-source is very diverse geographically. Dramatic mountains loom above glaciers, high-altitude wetlands, grassland meadows, desert plateaus, and mirrored lakes. Three-river-source is called “China’s Water Tower” because it is the source region of the ChangJiang River, the Lancang River, and the Yellow River. While exploring its original wilderness, visitors may spot unique snow leopards and Tibetan antelopes.
National Park of Hainan Tropical Rainforest
Located in Hainan, the park covers 4,269 km2. This national park has China’s most diverse, best preserved, and largest contiguous (相接的) area of tropical rainforest. It is home to 4,367 plant species, 95 reptile species, 305 bird species, and 85 mammal species, making it a biodiversity hotspot.
Northeast China Tiger and Leopard National Park
The endangered Amur leopards and Amur tigers are now protected in the park. Located in northeast China, this national park covers 14,100 km2 along the borders with Russia and the DPRK. By removing fences, reconnecting habitats, and relocating animals, the park restored migration and reproduction corridors (走廊).

As I was walking home, a boy seemed to be singing a song in a very low voice, walking in front of me and carrying some of the same high school books I had with me. I caught him up, and said “Hello”. I could tell he was startled (吃惊的), and dropped one of his books. I picked it up and as I handed it to him, he said “Thank you” in a strange way, like with a strong accent.
We soon began walking together and talking. It turned out that he was in my science class, and I didn’t even know it!
His name was Nado, and his family had just moved here this school year. He invited me to his home, and his family treated me like a special guest, which made me feel very welcome. He said hospitality (好客) was very basic to his culture, and strangers were always treated very kindly. His mom brought out some great food, and offered me some tea. Nado’s father and two sisters wanted to hear all about me and my family, and my schooling.
Nado’s whole family had to leave their lifelong home because war had broken out, and it wasn’t safe there anymore. They left with only what they could carry. His family was happy to feel safe, and they got used to American culture quickly. They seemed pleased that Nado had brought a friend home to meet them.
And as my friendship with Nado has continued, I now realize that the world is much bigger than I thought! I also realize that your friends don’t have to be just like you. Differences make the world go around.
24. Why was the author treated like a special guest by Nado’s family?
A. They liked strangers who came to their home for help.
B. They wanted to know more information about the author.
C. Strangers were always treated very kindly in their culture.
D. The author was an American and knew much about their culture.
25. How many people at least are there in Nado’s family?
A. Three. B. Four. C. Five. D. Six
26. Where does the author probably come from?
A. Canada. B. America. C. China. D. Australia.
27. What can we infer from the passage?
A. People from different countries can be good friends.
B. Friends need different cultures and different accents.
C. Your friends and you should have a lot of mutual interests.
D. You can’t make friends with people from other countries.
C
For the past 50 years, the highest-paying jobs have centered on knowledge work — especially in science, technology and analysis. But the rapid rise of generative AI is beginning to change that. Companies are already considering replacing certain white-collar roles with artificial intelligence. This change raises an important question: Will the future economy still need as many creative and analytical workers?
The impact extends beyond future workers to teachers and parents. For years, schools have focused on getting students ready for cognitive jobs. Now, with AI entering the workplace, we need to decide which skills students truly need.
Different from earlier automation that replaced routine manual labor, AI can now simulate human-like writing, coding and data analysis. As a result, some entry-level knowledge jobs may decline. However, AI still struggles with tasks that require deep reasoning, empathy, or dealing with unknown variables. It cannot truly understand human emotions or motivations.
That’s why “soft skills” will become more important than ever. Collaboration, empathy, emotional awareness and creative problem-solving are difficult to automate. The good news is that these skills can be taught in schools together with traditional subjects such as math and reading.
For example, teachers can use reflection exercises to help students recognize their own emotions and interactions. Prompts (提示) like “Write about a time you helped someone today” or “Describe how you solved a hard problem” encourage self-awareness and empathy.
Students can also practice solving open-ended, real-world problems — such as testing soil samples on school grounds, designing a social campaign, or discussing historical decisions. These activities build flexible thinking and teamwork-skills that AI cannot copy.
A new challenge, however, is that students may rely on AI to complete tasks, bypassing the learning process. But genuine understanding requires effort. Teachers should stress the value of slower learning — through handwriting, group presentations, and hands-on projects — so that students can build core skills before using AI tools.
In the end, no one knows exactly how AI will change the job market. However, human skills such as self-awareness, empathy and complex problem-solving will only grow in value. The most important lesson schools can teach is this: Don’t let shortcuts replace learning. Human abilities — especially the ability to work with others to solve difficult problems — will always matter.
28. Compared with earlier automation, what is special about AI?
A. It can replace manual labor.
B. It can do some cognitive jobs.
C. It can finish work independently.
D. It can understand human emotions.
29. Why are soft skills becoming more important, according to the passage?
A. They are still difficult for AI to learn.
B. They are necessary for controlling AI.
C. They are easier to measure and test.
D. They can help companies save costs.
30. What can teachers do to help students build core skills?
A. Stop students from using AI to do assignments.
B. Reduce the teaching of traditional subjects.
C. Show the significance of slower learning.
D. Encourage students to do more exercises.
31. How does the author feel about the future of human workers?
A. Worried. B. Optimistic.
C. Doubtful. D. Uncaring.

Yang zhou district now has its first A+ Intelligent Greenhouse Factory. This high-tech farm is a big step forward in modern agriculture. It costs 61 million yuan (about $8.39million) and covers an area of 17,000 square meters.
In this greenhouse, leafy greens can grow in just 30 days, which is much faster than traditional farming. This method also produces eight times more vegetables. Thousands of sensors monitor the temperature and humidity (湿度) all the time. Smart systems automatically adjust the airflow and nutrient levels to ensure the best growing conditions.3-D farming technology makes better use of space, increasing land efficiency. Electric rail harvesting platforms lighten the workload by 60 percent, making the work much easier.
The greenhouse also has a fish and plant zone with a natural nutrient system. What makes the zone special is that processed fish waste is transformed directly into plant nutrients, ensuring sustainable planting. To meet the greenhouse’ s daily electricity needs, the State Grid Haimen Supply Company equipped a 3.2-kilometer power line and a supply system. A specialized team conducts daily inspections and weekly maintenance on 58power units to ensure undisturbed operation.
Soon, the factory will open a research and study base. It will offer immersive experiences such as VR-assisted plant cell observation in the ecological education zone. Additionally, its lab will produce virus-free strawberry seeds under a clean environment. These creations not only boost production but also promote sustainable and efficient farming practices.
32. How does the greenhouse improve the efficiency?
A. By using traditional methods. B. By shortening the growth time.
C. By observing temperature. D. By reducing the workload.
33. What is the feature of the fish and plant zone?
A. It uses fish waste as plant nutrients. B. It requires a large number of nutrients.
C. It relies on traditional farming skills. D. It focuses on growing strawberries.
34. What will the base offer when it opens?
A. An about 3.2-kilometer power line. B. Daily inspections and maintenance.
C. VR-assisted plant cell observation. D. Electric rail harvesting platforms.
35. What is the main idea of the passage?
A. Producing virus-free strawberry seeds.
B. Providing immersive VR experiences.
C. Monitoring temperature and humidity.
D. Advancing modern high-tech farming.

Body Language Tips for Your Next Interview
Body language can reveal yourselves, and interviewers are definitely paying attention to it. For a job interview, you want to present the best version of yourself. ____36____
Make a solid first impression. The interview begins as soon as you enter the building. When you connect with whomever you encounter, maintain strong eye contact and introduce yourself confidently. If you are in a waiting area, avoid hunching over (弯腰驼背) our phone. ____37____ Instead, sit upright in a comfortable position.
____38____ Discomfort is another issue that can be very disturbing for both you and the interviewer. Buying a nice pair of new shoes or a belt to match your suit may seem like a great idea, but if your wardrobe (衣柜) causes you to be nervous or do a lot of shifting, consider going with a proper but reliable choice instead.
Be responsive and listen to understand. It’s natural to tell the interviewer all about yourself and the achievements and experiences that make you stand out. But don’t forget to listen and engage with what the interviewers are saying. ____39____ And how you behave when you’re not talking is an important part of the impression you’ll make.
Be mindful of your hands. Interviewers are trying to get a sense of who you are, so let your personality shine through! This includes talking with your hands if that comes naturally to you. Stifling a feature like this can actually lead to unnecessary nervousness. ____40____
A. Buy new clothes before the interview.
B. Think twice before wearing the new shoes.
C. Just adopt the tips below to impress interviewers
D. They will be looking to assess your interpersonal skills.
E. They will assume you are not interested in your future position.

【原文】I read a story in a book the other day. It showed something important and I wanted to share it with you. The story was set in the years before cars were invented, so the rich had to travel in coaches. One day, a young lady wanted to watch a play in the theater. Her coachman took her to the theater in a coach. It was very cold. While she was watching the play, the poor coachman had to sit outside in the snow on the driver’s seat of the coach looking after the horse. Inside the theater, the lady was moved to tears by the performance. Some actors in the play were in extremely poor situations. She showed great pity on them. However, when she came out and saw the coachman covered with snow and almost frozen to death, she just considered it as a normal part of life. Nowadays, whenever I see people in terrible situations on TV, I feel sad, wishing that I could do something to make a difference. But I often ignore people and things around me like people who struggle with life. They lose their jobs, experience death in their family or suffer diseases. Help those as you can. This is the story. Is there anyone who can share something you read during the holidays in class?

Nado’s father and two sisters wanted to hear all about me and my family, and my schooling.
Nado’s whole family had to leave their lifelong home because war had broken out, and it wasn’t safe there anymore. They left with only what they could carry. His family was happy to feel safe, and they got used to American culture quickly. They seemed pleased that Nado had brought a friend home to meet them.

A. Worried. B. Optimistic.
C. Doubtful. D. Uncaring.
【答案】28. B 29. A 30. C 31. B
【解析】
【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要说明了人工智能时代教育如何重塑未来的教育。
【28题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段中“Different from earlier automation that replaced routine manual labor, AI can now simulate human-like writing, coding and data analysis.(与早期取代常规体力劳动的自动化不同,人工智能现在可以模拟类人的写作、编程和数据分析)”可知,人工智能与早期自动化的不同之处在于它能完成一些认知类工作。故选B。
【29题详解】
细节理解题。根据第四段中“That’s why “soft skills” will become more important than ever. Collaboration, empathy, emotional awareness and creative problem-solving are difficult to automate.(这就是为什么“软技能”将变得比以往任何时候都重要。协作、同理心、情绪感知和创造性解决问题的能力很难被自动化取代)”可知,软技能变得更重要是因为人工智能难以掌握这些技能。故选A。
【30题详解】
细节理解题。根据第七段中“Teachers should stress the value of slower learning — through handwriting, group presentations, and hands-on projects — so that students can build core skills before using AI tools.(教师应强调慢速学习的价值——通过手写、小组展示和实践项目——让学生在使用人工智能工具之前掌握核心技能)”可知,教师可以通过强调慢速学习的重要性来帮助学生培养核心技能。故选C。
【31题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段“In the end, no one knows exactly how AI will change the job market. However, human skills such as self-awareness, empathy and complex problem-solving will only grow in value. The most important lesson schools can teach is this: Don’t let shortcuts replace learning. Human abilities — especially the ability to work with others to solve difficult problems — will always matter.(最后,没有人确切知道人工智能将如何改变就业市场。然而,自我意识、同理心和解决复杂问题等人类技能只会越来越有价值。学校能教给我们的最重要的一课是:不要让捷径取代学习。人类的能力——尤其是与他人合作解决难题的能力——永远都很重要)”可推知,作者对人类工作者的未来持乐观态度。故选B。
