Period 2 Learning About Language 复习名词性从句 在复合句中起名词作用的从句叫名词性从句,可以作为一个整体看待,其作用相当于一个名词。名词性从句包括主语从句、宾语从句、同位语从句、表语从句四类。 一、名词性从句的连接词 (1)(教材P14)The first time that she had to write an essay, her tutor explained that she must acknowledge what other people had said if she cited their ideas, but that he mainly wanted to know what she thought! 她第一次写论文时,她的导师解释说,如果她引用他人的观点就必须要注明,不过导师主要是想了解她本人的观点! (2)(教材P15)What surprised her was that she found herself speaking up in class after just a few weeks.  令她惊喜的是,仅仅几周后,她就能在课堂上大胆发言了。 (3)How it is used, whether it is a blessing or a curse to mankind, depends on mankind and not on the instrument. 怎样使用它,它究竟是给人类带来幸福还是带来灾难,这完全取决于人类自己,而不取决于工具。 1.that引导名词性从句时,只起连接作用,没有意义,在从句中不作成分。 2.whether引导名词性从句,意为“是否”,在从句中不作任何成分。有时可用if引导宾语从句,但一般不用if引导主语从句、表语从句或同位语从句。 3.连接代词what、who(m)、whose、which、whatever、whoever、whichever等引导名词性从句时,可在从句中作主语、宾语、表语、定语等。 4.连接副词when、where、why、how引导名词性从句时,在从句中作状语。 5.because、as if/though等也可引导表语从句。 二、it作形式主语或形式宾语 (1)It is known that well begun is half done.Welcome your participating in us as soon as possible. 众所周知,良好的开端是成功的一半。欢迎您尽快加入我们。 (2)I find it difficult to adapt to the new school life,so I sincerely ask for your generous assistance. 我发现我很难适应新的学校生活,因此我真诚地寻求你慷慨的帮助。 (3)(2023·天津卷6月)I would appreciate it if you could take my application into account and reply at your earliest convenience. 如果您能考虑我的申请并尽早回复,我将不胜感激。 (4)You can rely on it that my introduction and efforts can deepen visitors' understanding of traditional Chinese culture. 你可以相信,我的介绍和努力会加深参观者对中国传统文化的了解。 1.it作形式主语常有下列句型: 2.think、find、feel、consider、make、believe等动词后跟宾语和宾语补足语时,通常用it作形式宾语,而将真正的宾语后置。 3.have、take (认为)、like、love、enjoy、appreciate、hate等动词后常跟it作形式宾语,再跟宾语从句。 4.介词后不能直接跟that引导的宾语从句,须先接it再接that从句。 三、名词性从句应注意的问题 (1)The teacher told the students (that) they should hand in their homework the next day and that the homework must be signed by their parents. 老师告诉学生他们应该在第二天交作业,并且作业上必须有他们家长的签名。 (2)We are anxious to know whether/if you have figured out how much the trip will cost altogether. 我们很想知道你是否算出这次旅行总共要花多少钱。 (3)The question is whether we have enough resources to complete this project on time. 问题是我们是否有足够的资源来按时完成这个项目。 (4)On Monday afternoon, we attended a lecture on whether life exists on other planets. 周一下午,我们参加了一个关于“其他星球是否存在生命”的讲座。 1.that的省略规则 (1)that引导主语从句、表语从句、同位语从句时不可省略; (2)that引导宾语从句时可以省略,但如果有两个或多个宾语从句时,往往只省略第一个that。 2.whether与if (1)whether可引导主语从句、宾语从句、表语从句或同位语从句,但if一般只引导宾语从句; (2)介词后可跟whether引导的宾语从句,不跟if引导的从句; (3)跟or not或动词不定式连用时,用whether引导从句,不可用if。 Ⅰ.单句语法填空 1.You can rely on it that he will come to help you. 2.When everyone quieted down,the speaker began to talk, saying that this was exactly what was happening in their lives. 3.I'm not certain whether he will accept the job offer or decide to pursue further studies. 4.Scientists have discovered it undeniable that climate change is accelerating. 5.When I asked where he was heading, he made no response. 6.It is certain that she will do very well in the exam. 7.We think it possible that you can finish the work today. 8.The news that the famous scientist will come to our school spreads quickly. 9.They couldn't understand why I refused to take part in the party. 10.It is often the case that anything is possible for those who hang on to hope. Ⅱ.语法与写作 1.教练规定运动员每天必须训练三个小时。 The__coach__made__it__a__rule__that__the__players__must__train for three hours every day. 2.我们坚信游客能够通过这次活动更多地了解中国传统文化。 We hold the strong belief that__visitors__can__learn__more__about__traditional__Chinese__culture through the activity. 3.我是否会参加这次英语演讲比赛还要看情况。 It remains to be seen whether__I__will__participate__in__the__English__speech__contest. 4.最重要的是我们从来没有丧失继续努力的热情。 What is the most important is that__we__never__lose__the__enthusiasm__to__keep__on__trying. 5.他告诉我他不得不离开并且很快就会回来。 He told me he had to leave and that__he__would__be__back__soon. 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
