But here, the headmaster Dr. Strong was an excellent teacher and an intelligent man. He enjoyed teaching and never punished anyone. I felt so excited and happy about everything here that I fell in love with the new school immediately. Soon I made many new friends.
Mr. Wickfield was the lawyer (律师) of my grandaunt’s and I lived in his house. His daughter Agnes was like a sister and treated me very well. She often helped me with my studies and also helped her father with everything. I had lived a happy life with them for years.

Though lullabies come from different places, these songs have a lot in common. They usually have short, easy words and simple tunes (曲调). The songs are slow, and people sing them in a soft voice with a calm beat.
Over the years, scientists have studied lullabies to find out more about their calming powers (力量). Research has shown that lullabies can slow a baby’s heart, which is a sign of relaxation. Babies who hear lullabies fall asleep
