Traveling will be much cheaper and easier. And many more people will go to other countries for holidays. There will be changes in our food, too. More land (陆地) will be used for building new towns and houses for all the people. Then there will be less room for cows and sheep, so meat will be more expensive. Maybe no one will eat it every day. It is certain that AI will have a great effect on education in the next few years. Let’s see how! The role of teachers What will the role of teachers be in this robotic classroom of the future? Many teachers worry that AI will take their jobs. Actually human teachers will always be needed to manage the classroom environment and to encourage students. A large part of education for children is teaching them social-emotional skills. While AI programs have proven they can teach students to read and solve math problems, teaching social-emotional skills is more complex (复杂的). That kind of learning needs the human touch that only teachers can provide. Classrooms Certain tasks can be made easier through the use of AI. Grading, for example, can be done quickly and easily by using AI. In the future, some believe AI will even be able to tell if students are having problems with a certain subject based on their facial (面部的) expressions alone. AI can also provide a chance of receiving an education for those who have hearing problems or are unable to speak the local language. AI outside the classroom AI in education is extending (延伸) outside the classroom, too. The technology is also being used to help students prepare for tests, such as college entrance exams. It can also help them with their homework. Has your school used AI? Do you think AI is the future of education? 1.The things that AI programs can teach students to do: 2.The reason why AI won’t take the place of human teachers? 3.How can AI make grading? 4.The thing that AI can do for those who have hearing problems: 5.List two things that AI will help students do outside the classroom. 【答案】1.To read and solve math problems 2.Because human teachers will always be needed to manage the classroom environment and to encourage students /Because human teachers will always be needed to teach students social-emotional skills. 1.It can make grading quick and easy. 2.AI can provide them with a chance to receive an education. 3.Prepare for tests and do their homework. 【导语】本文主要讲述了人工智能在我们的日常生活中已经扮演重要的角色,在未来的几年里对教育会有很大的影响。例如,充当教师的角色,在教室内外都起到很大的作用。 1.根据“While AI programs have proven they can teach students to read and solve math problems,”可知,教学生读和解决数学难题。故填To read and solve math problems 2.根据“Actually human teachers will always be needed to manage the classroom environment and to encourage students.”可知,人类老师总是有必要的,他们要控制班级环境并鼓励学生。故填Actually human teachers will always be needed to manage the classroom environment and to encourage students. 3.根据“Grading, for example, can be done quickly and easily by using AI.”可知,AI可以很快速且容易地给分。故填It can make grading quick and easy. 4.根据“AI can also provide a chance of receiving an education for those who have hearing problems or are unable to speak the local language.”可知,AI可以为那些有听力障碍和不说当地语言的学生提供接受教育的机会,故填AI can provide them with a chance to receive an education. 5.根据最后一段可知,在教室外的话,可以帮助学生准备测试,也可以在家庭作业方面帮助。故填Prepare for tests and do their homework. 阅读下面的文章,回答问题。 What will the house of the future look like? Could it have gardens on its walls, or a pool with fish for dinner? Architects believe that they are all possibilities. The only thing for sure is that the houses will be as green as possible. The tree house Many architects in the world would like to build a “tree house”. Like a leaf, the surface of the house collects sunlight during the day. The energy can be used to heat water, produce electricity, and even create fresh air for the home. The “root” of the house is deep under the ground. It uses the soil (土壤) to control the home’s temperature. The Lizard house Like a lizard (蜥蜴), changing colour with the weather is the most important design of a lizard house. When it’s in the bright sun, the cover of the house will turn dark to protect it from strong heat. During dark days, it turns white and takes in as much light and heat as possible to produce energy. Meals at home The future of food production (生产) will be one part of the house design. Gardens may appear on the outside walls of the house. People can plant tomatoes, carrots and green tea on them. So every day in the morning, you just need to walk outside and collect your meals. Learning from the past Looking to the future isn’t the only way to be green. Sometimes, ancient techniques can also help cut down energy use. For example, a chimney (烟囱) in the future house can be a useful air-conditioner because it is easier for hot air to go out at the chimney. 1.How many kinds of future houses are mentioned in the passage? 2.What can we use the energy to do for the tree house? 3.What is the colour of the lizard house on sunny days? 4.Where can people plant tomatoes, carrots or green tea in the future house according to the passage? 5.According to the last paragraph, how can we make future houses green? 【答案】1.2 kinds of future houses are mentioned in the passage. 2.We can use it to heat water, produce electricity and create fresh air. 3.It’s dark on sunny days. 4.They can plant them in the gardens. 5.We can make  the future houses green by learning from the past and looking to the future. 【导语】本文是一篇说明文,主要讨论未来的房子会是什么样子。 1.根据“The tree house”和“The Lizard house”可知,本文主要介绍了树屋和蜥蜴的房子。故填2 kinds of future houses are mentioned in the passage. 2.根据“The energy can be used to heat water, produce electricity, and even create fresh air for the home.”可知,能源可以用来烧水,发电,甚至用来制作新鲜的空气。故填We can use it to heat water, produce electricity and create fresh air. 3.根据“When it’s in the bright sun, the cover of the house will turn dark to protect it from strong heat.”可知,当天气晴朗时,蜥蜴的房子将会变成黑色。故填It’s dark on sunny days. 4.根据“Gardens may appear on the outside walls of the house. People can plant tomatoes, carrots and green tea on them.”可知,在未来的房子里,花园可能出现在房子的外墙上,人们可以在房子的外墙上种西红柿,胡萝卜或绿茶。故填They can plant them in the gardens. 5.根据“Learning from the past”和“Looking to the future isn’t the only way to be green.”可知,我们通过学习过去和展望未来,才能让未来的房子变得绿色。故填We can make the future houses green by learning from the past and looking to the future. 阅读短文,然后根据内容回答问题。 Mars, Robots, Higher Prices and More What will the world look like in 2045? I recently spoke with four American students, Caden Sorensen, Chandler Stark, Fatima Abdi and Noelani Velasco Polley, to get their thoughts on this question. In 2045, the kids think, humans will be able to live on Mars. They suggest that everyone should spend a few years on the red planet to give the Earth a “rest”. “And when we come back, we must try not to pollute as much,” says Stark. But Mars is not yet ready for human habitation (居住). The kids agree that immediate action must be taken to clean up the Earth. “It’s time to fix it now,” says Sorensen. “It’s not going to fix itself.” The kids do not just care about progress in space exploration. They are also interested in the future jobs. Stark hopes to compose (创作) music for TV shows one day. Abdi wants to be a business owner. Sorensen dreams about becoming a lawyer. Polley wants to be a scientist. “I don’ t think there will be a lot of fast-food jobs,” said Abdi. She also thinks that everything is going to get a lot more expensive. “People will have to look for higher-paying jobs.” Many jobs, the kids predict (预测), will be replaced by robots. “There’ll be no more factory jobs because robots can just do everything,” says Stark. But they believe the power to shape the future is in human hands. The world will be a better place, but of course, “we need to work hard, and we all need to learn to be kind to others.” 1.In the kids’opinion, where will humans be able to live in 2045? 2.What is Sorensen’s idea about the Earth? 3.Why does Stark say there will be no more factory jobs? 4.What do you think the world will look like in 2045? Write 30 words or more. 【答案】1.On Mars. 2.It’s time to fix it now. It’s not going to fix itself. 3.Because robots can do everything. 4.I think the Earth will be a greener place to live. Humans care more about the environmental protection. More trees will be planted around buildings. There will be less pollution. Waste will be given a second life. 【导语】本文介绍了四位美国学生认为2045年的世界将是什么样子。 1.根据“In 2045, the kids think, humans will be able to live on Mars.”可知,孩子们认为,到2045年,人类将能够在火星上生活。故填On Mars. 2.根据Sorensen说的“‘It’s time to fix it now,’ says Sorensen. ‘It’s not going to fix itself.’”可知,Sorensen认为是时候解决问题了,地球不会自我修复。故填It‘’s time to fix it now. Polley wants to be a scientist. “I don’t think there will be a lot of fast-food jobs,” said Abdi. She also thinks that everything is going to get a lot more expensive. “People will have to look for higher-paying jobs.” Many jobs, the kids predict, will be replaced by robots. 4.Will everything be cheaper or more expensive in 2045 according to Abdi? 5.What do you think the world will look like in 2045? 【答案】1.On Mars. 2.It’s time to fix the earth now and it’s not going to fix itself. 3.Because robots can do everything. 4.Everything will be more expensive. 5.The world will be more beautiful. 【导语】本文主要介绍了作者与四位学生在纽约大学探讨对未来生活的想象。 1.根据第二段“In 2045, the kids think, humans will be able to live on Mars.”可知,在孩子们看来,2045年人类能生活在火星上。故填On Mars. 2.根据第三段“It’s time to fix it now”和“It’s not going to fix itself.”可知,Sorensen认为是时候修复地球,地球不会自行修复。故填It’s time to fix the earth now and it’s not going to fix itself. 3.根据最后一段“There’ll be no more factory jobs because robots can just do everything”可知,工厂将不再有工作,因为机器人可以做任何事情。故填Because robots can do everything. 4.根据倒数第二段“She also thinks that everything is going to get a lot more expensive.”可知,Abdi认为一切都会变得更贵。故填Everything will be more expensive. 5.开放性试题,言之有理即可。参考答案为The world will be more beautiful. At the moment, it may be difficult to imagine, but many people believe that, by the year 2100, we will live on the planet Mars. Our own planet, Earth, is becoming more and more crowded and polluted. Luckily, we can start again and build a better world on Mars. Here is what life could be like. First of all, transport (交通) should be much better. At present, our spaceships are too slow to carry large numbers of people to Mars—it takes a few months. However, by 2100, spaceship can travel at half the speed of light. It might take us two or three days to get to Mars! Secondly, humans need food, water and air to live. Scientists should be able to develop plants that can be grown on Mars. These plants will produce the food and air that we need. However, can these plants produce water for us? There is no answer now. There is a problem for us to live on Mars. Mars suck (吸引) us much less than Earth does. This will be dangerous because we could easily jump too high and fly slowly away into space. To prevent this, humans on Mars have to wear special shoes to make themselves heavier. There will probably be no school on Mars. Every student will have a computer at home which is connected to the Internet. They can study, do their homework and take exams in online schools. Each student will also have their own online teacher called “e-teacher”. Life on Mars will be better than that on Earth in many ways. People will have more space. Living in a large building with only 10 bedrooms is highly possible. Many people believe that robots will do most of our work, so we have more time for our hobbies. However, in some ways, life on Mars may not be better than that on Earth today. Food will not be the same—meals will probably be in the form of pills (片状物) and will not be as delicious as they are today. Also, space travel will make many people feel ill. The spaceship will travel fast but the journey to Mars will probably be very uncomfortable. 1.How long might it take us to get to Mars by spaceship by 2100? 2.What can the students do in online schools on Mars? 3.Why will life on Mars be better than life on Earth? 4.Would you like to live on Mars? Why? (at least 2 reasons) 【答案】1.Two or three days. 2.They can study, do their homework and take exams in online schools. 3.Because there will be more space and less work to do. 4.Yes, I’d love to. Because transport will be much better and faster. On Mars, we can jump higher than on the earth. 【导语】本文介绍了未来在火星上的生活情况。 1.根据“However, by 2100, spaceship can travel at half the speed of light. It’s pretty possible that robots and AI will change the world a lot. Also, self-driving and flying cars will come into our daily life. However, scientists have even bigger ideas. In the video called Forward to the Future, scientists predicted what the world would be like in 2045. Dr. Justin Sanchez believes we’ll be able to control (控制) things simply by using our mind. “Think about a world where you just use your mind to control your environment,” Justin said. Scientists are working hard to have some progress (进展). “The future has more than just that. Many other exciting things could change the buildings and other things around us,” says Stefanie Tompkins. “We’ll be able to build things that are very strong but not heavy,” she predicted. Pam Melroy believes we’re going to find that we have a very different relationship with the machines around us. “I think we’ll be able to control a machine just by only saying some simple words,” she said. For example, right now to land a plane, in Pam’s words, a pilot may just need to say the words “prepare for landing”. Then the computer knows the steps it needs to take. Or maybe, a pilot won’t even be necessary. 1.What is possible to change the world a lot in 2045? 2.What’s the name of the video? 3.How many scientists gave their predictions in the video? 4.Who has the prediction about changing the buildings and other things around us? 5.How will people be able to control a machine according to Pam Melroy? 【答案】1.Robots and Al. 2.Forward to the Future. 3.Three 4.Stefanie Tompkins. 5.By only saying some simple words. 【导语】本文介绍了科学家在《迈向未来》视频中,预测 2045年机器人、AI等将改变世界,还设想了意念控制、新型建筑和语音操控机器等场景。 1.根据第一段“It’s pretty possible that robots and AI will change the world a lot. Between then and now many changes will happen. But what will the changes be? The population (人口) is growing fast. There will be more people in the world and most of them will live longer than people live now. Computers will be much smaller and more useful, and there will be at least one in every home. And computer studies will be one of the most important subjects in schools then. People will work fewer hours than they do now and they will have more free time for sports, watching TV and traveling. Instead, they will eat more fruits and vegetables. Maybe people will be healthier. Work in the future will be different, too. Robots will do dangerous and hard work. Because of this, many people will not have enough work to do. That will be a problem. 阅读短文内容,回答下列问题。 1.Will people live longer than now in the future? 2.How many computers will every home have at least? 3.What will be one of the most important subjects in school in the future? 4.Why will the meat be more expensive? 5.Who will do dangerous and hard work? Welcome to your future life You get up in the morning and look into the mirror. Your face is young-looking. In 2035, medical technology is better than ever. Many people of your age could live to be 150, so at 40, you’re not old at all. And your parents just had an antiaging (抗衰老的) treatment. Now, the three of you all look the same age. You walk into the kitchen. You pick up the milk, but a voice says, “You shouldn’t drink that!” Your fridge has read the chip (芯片) of information about the milk, and it knows the milk is old. You say to your shirt, “Turn red.” It changes from blue to red, In 2035, “smart clothes”have programmed (设定程序的) particles (粒子). They are much smaller than the cells (细胞) in your body. The programmed particles can change the color of clothes. It’s time to go to work. In 2035, cars drive themselves. Just tell your smart car where to go. On the way, you can call a friend by using your jacket sleeve (袖子). Such “smart technology” is all around you. So will all these things come true? What will be the next? Who knows? 根据短文内容,回答下列问题。 1.Do your parents look as young as you in 2035? 2.How does your fridge know your milk is old? 3.What can change the color of clothes? 4.How can you call a friend on your way to work in 2035? 5.What do you think of these future technologies? 请阅读下面语篇,根据其内容回答问题,并将答案写在答题卡相应的位置上。 2050 seems to be a long way to go, but we can still predict the future. What will the future be like? Let’s start our predictions. •The free Internet Today more than half of the people around the world use the Internet. However, most Internet users have to pay for it. By 2050, it is possible that the Internet will be free. An Earlier Report on Population (人口) and Internet Users Continents (洲) Population Internet Users Africa (非洲) 1.3 billion (十亿) 523 million (百万) Asia (亚洲) 4.3 billion 2.3 billion Europe (欧洲) 829 million 728 million North America (北美洲) 366 million 330 million •Self-driving cars Many engineers are working on self-driving cars. Self-driving cars will be everywhere by 2050. The driver only needs to tell the car where he wants to go. And the driver will have more free time in the car. •The intercontinental (洲际的) railways (铁路) We will see intercontinental railways by 2050. It is not a dream anymore. Isn’t it wonderful if you can take a train from Taiyuan and arrive in New York a few hours? The intercontinental Railway Project will make this come true. •Living on Mars (火星) Mars might be the most possible planet to live on for humans. Now, the earth is polluted badly and the environment will be in great danger. Humans are always trying to look for the next “Earth”. By 2050, we may move to Mars and live there. 1.Which continent has the most Internet users in the world? 2.If the driver in the self-driving car wants to travel to Beijing, what will he do? 3.What can make people travel from Taiyuan to New York in a few hours in 2050? 4.Why are humans looking for the next “Earth”? 5.Which prediction do you hope will come true? Why? 根据短文内容回答下列各题 My name is Linda. In ten years, I think I’ll be a teacher, because I like playing with children. I’ll meet lots of interesting students, and I’ll also be able to make friends with foreign teachers. I think I’ll live in Beijing in ten years. But as a Chinese, I hope that I can travel all places of interest in our country. I will keep a pet dog at home in ten years, because I don’t have free time now. And I am sure I’ll also have many good friends in ten years. I’ll learn Chinese kung fu, because that is one of my dreams. I’ll look after my health, so I’ll exercise more. I won’t eat junk food. I will work hard from now on! 1.Why does the writer want to be a teacher? 2.Where will the writer live in ten years? 3.What will the writer keep as a pet in ten years? 4.What will the writer learn? 5.The writer won’t eat junk food, will she? One day, I fell asleep and had a strange dream. When I opened my eyes, I found myself in the year 2150! The city was a wonderland of towering skyscrapers made of shiny, transparent (透明) materials that seemed to touch the clouds. Flying cars zoomed (急速上升) overhead, leaving trails of colorful lights. People were walking on the streets, wearing smart clothes that could change colors according to their moods. I decided to explore. First, I entered a restaurant. There were no waiters! Instead, robots glided smoothly, bringing delicious food made from lab-grown ingredients. The food was not only tasty but also extremely healthy. Then, I visited a school. Students were studying with holographic (全息图的) teachers. They could interact with 3D models of historical figures and faraway planets. It was like being in a real-life adventure while learning. In the afternoon, I met a friendly local named Alex. He showed me his home, which was a smart house. The walls could transform into different scenes, from a peaceful beach to a snowy mountain. The house could even recycle waste into energy. As the day ended, I woke up from my dream. Although it was just a dream, I couldn’t stop thinking about the amazing future I had experienced. I really hope some of these cool things will come true one day! 1.When did the author find himself in the year 2150? 2.What were the skyscrapers in the future city made of? 3.People were wearing smart clothes that could change colors according to their moods, weren’t they? 4.How were students studying in the future school? 5.What do you think of the life in the year 2150? They used to read the Times, but changed to electronic newspapers many years ago. There is the usual news about space: another space flight has returned from Mars and scientists have discovered a new planet. Then they turn to business news: the US dollar has risen greatly in Shanghai, one of the world’s leading business centres. Mary tells the computer to buy 5,000 dollars, and there is a quick response (答复) that it has been done. As they watch the screen, Mary orders one of the household robots to make coffee for them. Frank disappears into the study to join a video conference (会议) with his partners (伙伴) around the world. He is a computer engineer, working for several companies. This is his third job: he used to be in marketing and then television. Frank and Mary have one daughter, Louise, now thirteen, is studying Chinese at present, which has become a world language as important as English. Louise has many Chinese friends. They communicate by computer. According to the family doctor, Louise will live to at least 130. Her wish is to work for a few decades (十年) and then spend her time on music and painting. 1.Why do Frank and Mary switch on the bedroom computer in the morning? 2.Does Mary read space news or business news? 3.Who makes coffee for Mary and Frank? 4.How does Frank work with others from home? 5.What are the two most important world languages in 2050? 阅读下面关于五中学生调查报告的文章,在每个题目下面做简短的笔记。 Artificial intelligence (人工智能), or AI for short, has become an important part of our daily life. Why? (at least 2 reasons) 阅读短文,然后根据内容回答问题。 What will travel be like in 2070? Maybe travel will become smarter and easier by that time. 阅读下文并回答问题。 Life in the year 3044 is very different from life in the 21st century. We still do many things you did, but we do them differently. For example, we will have e-friends to help us and keep us company. An e-friend is a machine that looks like a human. It can walk and talk like humans and can do almost the same things as we human do. My e-friend is a lot like me and we have much fun together. She helps me with my homework which makes me feel much easier, and we often go swimming. She is computerized (计算机化) to take care of me in case (万一) anything happens, so I always feel safe when we are together. She can also send me messages and I can download (下载) information from her memory chip (芯片). It’s so great to have an e-friend. I feel never lonely. Maybe one day I will be able to fly back in a time rocket and visit you and old friends. Looking forward to! 1.In the year 3044, will we still do many things in different ways? 2.What is an e-friend? 3.How does the writer feel with his e-friend? 4.Do you want to have an e-friend?
