As an animation technician, I'm constantly chasing inspiration. One day, while wandering through an art exhibition with a variety of abstract artworks on display, I was suddenly struck by a piece of wire art.The way the wires were arranged set my imagination in motion. It contrasted greatly with the digitalbased trends in my field.I thought of folk tales passed down through generations.I was determined to bring these tales to life in a new way.I wanted to create innovative animations rather than the usual ones. A scene from a wellknown folk tale came to my mind. I composed a storyboard, lighting up my creative process. What was once just an abstract idea in my head was now being crafted into a distinct animation.I used my skills at my fingertips, even though some techniques were unfamiliar. This journey of turning inspiration into innovation made me known as a creator who could bring out the best in old stories. Section Ⅰ Starting out & Understanding ideas Step One Leadin If you were an artist, what kind of things or places would you turn to for inspiration? And how would these inspirations help you create your own works? As an artist, I'd seek inspiration from nature, urban environment, and human stories. These would fuel my creativity by offering colors, textures, narratives and moods to reinterpret into original pieces—blending observation with personal expression. Step Two Read for the main idea Match the main idea with each section. Section 1 (开头语) A.This part focuses on a Chinese composer blending Chinese and Western music for universal expression. Section 2 (Paras.1-3) B.This part focuses on a Chinese dancer, who gets inspiration from the nature. Section 3 (Paras.4-5) C.This part raises questions on where artists get their inspiration. Section 4 (Paras.6-7) D.This part focuses on a visual artist, who get inspiration from children's toys and Chinese folk tales. 答案:Section 1—C Section 2—D Section 3—A Section 4—B Step Three Read for details Ⅰ.Read Section 1 (开头语) carefully and do the following exercise. C.Chinese folk tales and his visit to Wuzhen. D.His love for modern art. 答案:1.B 2.C Ⅲ.Read Section 3 (Paras.4-5) carefully and do the following exercises. 1.What is Tan Dun most famous for according to the passage? A.Composing music for a popular TV series. B.Composing music for a movie and the Olympics. C.Composing music for a stage play. D.Composing music for a famous singer's album. 2.What kind of music does Tan Dun create? A.Music that only uses traditional Chinese instruments. B.Music that uses only modern electronic sounds. C.Music that is completely based on Western classical music. D.Music that combines Chinese and Western musical elements. 答案:1.B 2.D Ⅳ.Read Section 4 (Paras.6-7) carefully and do the following exercises. 1.Why is Yang Liping called the “Peacock Princess”? A.Because she loves peacocks more than other animals. B.Because she won a competition with her peacockthemed dance. C.Because she often wears peacocklike costumes. D.Because she has a deepseated connection with peacock research. 2.Where does Yang Liping get the inspiration for her famous dances? A.From her travels in European countries. B.From the study of modern dance theories. C.From the time she spent in Xishuangbanna. D.From the experience of performing in big cities. 答案:1.B 2.C Step Four Consolidation Discuss the following question with your partners and present your answer to the class. If you could combine the creative inspirations of these three artists to create a new art form, what would it be like? Your presentation: I might create a multimedia performance.I could use storyinspired sculptures as the stage setting.Similar to Tan Dun, I would combine traditional Chinese music with modern beats to create a unique soundtrack. And following Yang Liping's lead in drawing from ethnic cultures, I would integrate traditional dance moves from various ethnic groups into a new dance routine. What inspires you? Every artist's wish is [1]to create something that expresses an idea. But where do artists get their ideas from? Who or what inspires them? 阅读理解(每小题2.5分,共20分) A (2025·辽宁点石联考高二上期中)One of the advantages of social media is that we get to see aspects of people's lives that can be rather surprising. In fact, some of the videos that get shared remind us of the many hidden—and notsohidden—talents that are out there. Recently a video was shared of a construction worker taking a break and treating his coworkers to a beautiful musical interlude (插曲) in their busy day.Archive Gould, a painter working for a specialized painting company in Edmonton, was carrying out a job in front of a library.Looking in the window, one of his workmates noticed there was a public piano inside. Gould explained to CTV News that his workmates were aware that he'd played the piano for years, but he'd never been able to showcase his talents. Therefore, on the first day on site, Gould sat down in his paintstained work clothes to play for his workmates. “It was so heartmelting.I love classical music to begin with.Seeing him playing exceptionally well, I was totally touched,” his workmate, Kerrie Bates, shared her reaction to Gould's performance. As for Gould, he was also delighted to have the opportunity to show his workmates that he was indeed able to play the piano. The performance was shared online, where it notched up an impressive number of views. And Gould came up with why he thought the video had become so popular, “I think half the reason why the video blew up is that I looked like a construction worker. No one expects a construction worker to just demonstrate some classical music like it's nothing.” However, his performance is not just a lesson in looking beyond a person's outward appearance, It also reminds us that we should develop our talents gradually and enjoy them as and when we can. While we might not all be able to become professional pianists or singers, there's so much joy to be had in having a passion and sharing it with others. 1.What role does social media play according to the first paragraph? A.A platform for people to show talents. B.Means of communication and expression. C.Place for people to share common interest. D.A tool to remind us of some important things. 解析:选A。 A。 2.How did Kerrie Bates react to Gould's performance? A.She considered it was incredible. B.She thought it held lasting artistic value. C.She found it was more accessible to workers. D.She believed it deserved a great deal of fame. 解析:选A。 A。 3.What does the underlined phrase “notched up” in Paragraph 5 probably mean? A.Reserved. B.Required. C.Convinced. D.Earned. 根据画线短语所在句“The performance was shared online, where it notched up an impressive number of views.(这段表演被分享到了网上, notched up惊人的浏览量)”根据句意可知,画线短语意为“获得了”惊人的浏览量。故选D。 4.What does Gould's story convey? A.The early bird catches the worm. B.Never judge a book by its cover. C.Actions speak louder than words. D.Nothing is difficult to a willing heart. B (2025·江西赣州高二上期末)Mel TaylorBessent has had a passion for reading and writing stories since she was a child. After doing a creative writing degree at university, she set up Little Star Writing—afterschool creative writing clubs, which she ran for many years. She went on to interview hundreds of authors for her website, called Authorfy, before becoming a children's author herself. Her latest book, Race to Imagination Island, is the first step in an exciting adventure series exploring the unlimited power of our imaginations.TaylorBessent says writing for fun is vital for fueling children's creativity and dreams and everyone needs imagination. She enjoyed creating her own stories from a very young age.“In school, I was the writing kid,” she says.“I just loved escaping into a story.” After reading a National Literacy Trust (NLT) report that said fewer and fewer children were writing for pure enjoyment, TaylorBessent decided to launch her YouTube channel, which offers top tips for children on how to enjoy creative writing, simply for fun. Based on the article, what do you think is the most important factor in defining art in the age of arttech combination? Your presentation: In the age of arttech combination, the most important factor in defining art might be the expression of thoughts and ideas. Also, the intention of the creator matters. If the creator uses technology to express something meaningful, then the work can be regarded as art, regardless of the tools used. ◎ ART & TECHNOLOGY Think “art”.What comes to your mind①? Is it Greek② or Roman sculptures in the Louvre, or Chinese paintings in the Palace Museum? Or maybe, just maybe, it's a dancing pattern of lights? The artworks by American artist Janet Echelman look like colourful floating clouds [1]when they are lit up③ at night.Visitors to one of her artworks in Vancouver could not only enjoy looking at it, they could also interact with④ it—literally⑤.They did this by using their phones to change its colours and patterns.Exhibits⑥ such as these are certainly new and exciting, but are they really art? [2]Whatever your opinion, people have been expressing their thoughts and ideas through art for thousands of years. To do this, they have used a variety of tools and technologies.Yet Michelangelo and others have been labelled⑦ as “artists” rather than⑧ “technicians⑨”.This means [3]that art and technology have always been seen as two very separate things. [2]whatever相当于no matter what,引导让步状语。 Today, however, technological advances⑩ have led to a combination of art and technology. As a result, the art world is changing greatly. Now art is more accessible⑪ to us than ever before.Take for example⑫ one of China's most famous paintings from the Song Dynasty, Along the River During the Qingming Festival.[4]As this artwork is rarely on display ,people have sometimes queued⑬ up to⑭ six hours for a chance to see it.[5]Once in front of the painting, they only have limited time to spend taking in its five metres of scenes along the Bian River in Bianjing. Thanks to⑮ technology however, millions more people have been able to experience a digital version⑯ of this painting.Threedimensional (3D) animation⑰ means [6]that viewers can see the characters⑱ move around and interact with their surroundings⑲.They can also watch as the different scenes change from daylight into nighttime. The arttech combination is also [7]changing our concepts⑳ of “art” and the “artist”.[8]Not only can we interact with art, but also take part in its creation.[9]With new technological tools at our fingertips㉑, more and more people are exploring their creative sides. The result has been exciting new art forms, such as digital paintings and videos. However, the increase in the amount and variety of art produced has also raised questions over its overall quality㉒.Can a video of someone slicing a tomato [10]played in slow motion really be called “art”? Similarly, such developments are making the line㉓ between art and technology less distinct㉔.Can someone unfamiliar with traditional artists' tools really call themselves an “artist”? And is the artist the creator of the art itself, or the maker of the technology behind it? A recent project used technology and data in the same way [11]that Rembrandt used his paints and brushes. The end result, [12]printed in 3D, was a new “Rembrandt painting㉕” [13]created 347 years after the artist's death. These advances are perhaps bringing us closer to a time [14]when computers rather than humans create art. [15]Where technology will take art next is anyone's guess㉖.But one thing is for sure㉗—[16]with so many artists exploring new possibilities, we can definitely㉘ expect the unexpected㉙. ①come to one's mind突然出现在脑海里,立即被想到 ②Greek adj.希腊的 ③light up照亮;露出喜悦 ④interact with 与 …… 称为 ⑧rather than 而不是 ⑨technician n. 易接近的 ⑫take(...)for example 以 ……为例 ⑬queue v.排队 ⑭up to 达到,多达 ⑮thanks to 由于,多亏 ⑯digital adj. accessible adj. Now art is more accessible to us than ever before. 【用法归纳】 (1)be accessible to sb. 可进入/接近/得到 make sth.accessible 使得 …… (2)have/get/gain access to 有权使用;可以进入;能够获得;有机会接触 have no access to 无法获得;没有机会使用;不能进入 【佳句必背】 ①(2024·全国甲卷) Chinese transport has undergone remarkable transformations, giving the Chinese people access to different ways of travelling. ②Last Wednesday witnessed the activity of Elegant Art into Campus, which was intended to make elegant art more accessible.(应用文之校园活动) 上周三举办了 “高雅艺术进校园” 活动,该活动旨在让高雅艺术更贴近大众。 【练透考点】 单句语法填空 ①Students should have abundant access to a wide range of reading materials to improve their language skills. ②The online learning platform makes educational resources more accessible (access) to students, even when they are studying at home. →This library offers convenient reading rooms to ensure that everyone, including the disabled, has access to reading activities.(access n.) →This library offers convenient reading rooms to ensure that everyone, including the disabled, can access reading activities.(access v.) →This library offers convenient reading rooms to make reading activities accessible to everyone, including the disabled.(accessible) come to one's mind Think “art”.What comes to your mind? 【用法归纳】 (1)apply one's mind to doing 专心于 …… change one's mind 改变主意 keep/bear...in mind 记住,牢记 make up one's mind to do 下决心做;决定做 (2)mind doing 介意去做某事 mind your own business 别管闲事 【佳句必背】 ①(2023·全国乙卷) What comes to your mind when you think of British food? ②At first, he planned to go on a trip alone, but later he changed his mind and decided to join his friends.(读后续写之心理描写) 起初,他打算独自去旅行,但后来他改变了主意,决定和朋友们一块去。 【练透考点】 单句语法填空 ①The teacher made up his mind to introduce (introduce) more interactive activities in class to inspire the students better. ②Would you mind turning (turn) down the music? Jane was greatly impacted by her mother's story. When faced with her own personal challenges—losing her home and being nearly broke—Jane used her last bit of money to have an artist draw her children. At her home, the artist saw some of Jane's paintings, and offered her free art lessons. It was then that she discovered her unique talent for art, which led to a series of positive influences in her life, including a new career, new passions, and the inspiration for the Open Hearts Value. Every time Jane painted a heart, it was open, and when there were two or more, they were always connected. This distinctive image represents the Open Hearts Value, and was the beginning of her journey to encourage people to turn their personal challenges into an opportunity to help others. When Signet Jewelers, the world's largest retailer (零售商) of diamond jewelry, learned of this story, they approached her about creating a line of jewelry with the Open Hearts symbol. That business partnership sold billions of dollars of jewelry and started the charitable beginning of the Open Hearts Foundation.Jane's vision was to create a foundation that encouraged people to help others and provided immediate funding to small, new charities that shared the same values. What started as a cause marketing campaign has grown into a movement of likeminded people working together for the greater good.Over sixty charities have been supported by the Foundation and thousands of volunteers have been inspired to do what they can to help others through virtual and inperson volunteer experiences. But as artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have become increasingly powerful in the last decade, forecasting agencies are now turning to machine learning for help. This is all welcome news for an industry worth about D|S2 trillion globally.Forecasts can have a big influence on the fashion industry's carbon footprint, which is responsible for at least 4% of all worldwide emissions.Designers will produce more of what will actually sell—at the moment, 25% of fashion products are unsalable, or not sold.Besides, using AI tools that can analyze millions of posts from around the world allows designers to look at fashion trends more globally. But designers often feel insecure about relying just on the data provided by AI.“A few years ago, there were big indicators on social media of yellow being a trend,” says Francesca Muston, vice president of a trend forecasting company.“And if you had followed completely the social media data gathered by AI models, yellow pieces would seem to be a good investment. But how many people are really going to wear a bright yellow coat? That's a brave fashion choice.” AI tools don't have their own aesthetic (审美的) viewpoint so they may not be able to satisfy people's desire for newness.“That's why we maintain a very strong creative viewpoint in our forecasting with a team of industry experts,” says Muston.Dr Michal Koren, a researcher, says, “The role of human experts in identifying trends will continue to be crucial even as AI and datadriven models become more accurate.” 8.What is the purpose of the notes taken by the experts? A.To report the news about Paris Fashion Week. B.To help them make fashion predictions. C.To compare different design methods. D.To collect information about designers. 根据第一段中的“Their job is to detect emerging trends.Their notes will instantly be added to selected ‘trend forecasts’”可知,他们的任务是发现新兴趋势,并将笔记添加到选定的“趋势预测”中,因此可以推断出他们做笔记的目的是帮助预测时尚趋势。故选B。 9.What does Paragraph 3 mainly discuss? A.The various benefits of using AI tools to predict trends. B.The high environmental costs of the fashion industry. C.The importance of looking at fashion more globally. D.The serious problem of unsalable fashion products. 解析:选A。 A。 10.Why does Muston mention the trend of yellow predicted a few years ago? A.To explain why people dislike some new trends. B.To show AI fashion predictions are not always reliable. C.To describe the recent changes in people's fashion choices. D.To prove the key role of social media in fashion forecasting. B。 11.Which statement might both Muston and Koren agree with? A.Machine learning is more creative than human experts. B.Many human trend forecasters will be unemployed. C.It is possible for AI to have its own fashion sense. D.AI tools will not replace human trend forecasters. D (2025·福建泉州高二上期末)Advocates of AI chatbots in educational settings say the tools can assist in activities like brainstorming—or help students get started on tough math problems. But many teachers say their students are short of the skills to improve upon what AI produces, or the maturity (成熟) and selfawareness to know where the work of AI ends and their own responsibility begins. A 2024 study of nearly 1,000 high school students put the matter to a test: 9th, 10th, and 11th graders attended a brief math lesson, then practised solving related problems in preparation for a quiz. Some relied on traditional methods—consulting their notes and textbooks to find possible answers, while others had access to a basic version or a tutor version (辅导版) of ChatGPT. The results were a success of technology—until they weren't.Students using the basic and tutor GPTs scored an astonishing 48 percent and 127 percent better than their peers during the practices, respectively, but when the same students went to get back the information from their memory during a followup closedbook test, their math skills had disappeared.Test performance of the students who had used the basic version of ChatGPT dropped so sharply that they scored 17 percent below their peers who had relied on pen and paper.Given the opportunity, students used the software as a “crutch” and often skipped straight to the answer, the researchers concluded. When applied at key moments, the technology actually “runs the risk of blocking learning.” But ChatGPT and other similar AI tools aren't out of the game.In several studies, the tools performed well when designed to guide student learning by refusing to give away answers, for example, or asking indepth followup questions.AI is making rapid progress, but isn't a threat to replace teachers. For now, it's only as smart as its human makers. 12.What is a problem of students when using AI chatbots? A.They are not aware of how AI chatbots work. B.They lack the ability to employ AI effectively. C.They are incapable of improving AI chatbots. D.They refuse to take their own responsibility. B。 13.How did GPT users perform compared to students using traditional methods? A.Basic GPT users performed best during the practices. B.Tutor GPT users scored 127% better during the test. C.Basic GPT users' performance dropped during the test. D.Tutor GPT users scored 17% lower during the practices. C。 14.What does the underlined word “crutch” mean in Paragraph 3? A.A device to help people walk. B.A strategy to deepen learning. C.A tool to improve math skills. D.A shortcut to find quick answers. D。 15.What are AI tools expected to do in education setting? A.Enhance students' thinking ability. B.Follow AI designers' instructions. C.Give indepth answers instantly. D.Replace traditional teaching methods. 解析:选A。 故选A。 (2025·广东茂名高二上期末)How would you feel if moving to a new town meant losing track of your friends? What if the only way of getting news from far away friends was writing letters that took ages to be delivered?16( ) Thanks to progress in technology, how we make friends and communicate with them has changed significantly.
