专题02 阅读七选五4大常考话题 话题1体育赛事(常考点)(人与社会) 话题3 科学技术(常考点)(人与社会) 话题2 艺术(音乐,美术和诗歌)(人与社会) 话题4 饮食与医疗健康(常考点)(人与自我) 22 / 22 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 话题1 饮食健康(人与自我) Passage 1 The best way to get started with cooking — or improve the skills you already have — is to make friends with your kitchen, says Mark Bittman.” 1 You can do this by opening drawers and doors, seeing what’s in the fridge, and learning about knives and tools,” Bittman, author of the new book How to Cook Everything Kids, told The Week Junior. Here’s how to get started. 2 The first thing you’ ll want to know about your kitchen is what ingredients (食材) — all the different food and seasonings (调味品) — you have to work with. Ingredients can be found in several places. 3 Seeing what you have can help you decide what you can make right away or whether you need to add to your family’s shopping list to make a recipe (食谱). Take stock of(盘点) tools and equipment. These are the nonfood items you’ll need in order to prepare, cook, and serve what you make. They can include mixing bowls, measuring cups, cutting boards, pots, and small machines. Ask an adult what each is used for. 4 For example, a cookie sheet can be used to make cookies, but it’s also useful for roasting cut-up vegetables mixed with olive oil and salt and pepper. Stay safe and be comfortable. Now that you know what you have to work with, you can get started. You’ll enjoy cooking much more if you take the time to set up everything you need to be comfortable — and safe. 5 And they can also supervise (指导) while you use them. A.Let go of perfection. B.Begin with the ingredients. C.You may be surprised that some have different uses. D.Exploring the kitchen is the best way to begin cooking. E.Look around, then touch, smell, and taste what you find. F.He shares how kids can improve their cooking confidence. G.Your parents can show you the proper way to use kitchen tools. Passage 2 Sportsmanship is a very important aspect of athletics including fair play, respect, and honesty. 6 As is often mentioned, friendship comes first and competition second. Let’s find some best practices for promoting fair play and respect among athletes. Sportsmanship starts with the athletes themselves. Leading by example is critical in setting the climate for fair play and respect. Athletes should demonstrate honesty, humility, and respect for opponents, officials, and teammates. They should follow the rules, accept decisions gracefully, and recognize outstanding performances. 7 Effective and respectful communication is essential in promoting sportsmanship. 8 This kind of communication helps solve conflicts (冲突), enhances understanding, and promotes a positive atmosphere. Encouraging athletes to express their opinions respectfully creates an environment where differences are accepted and peacefully addresses conflicts. 9 Coaches and officials play a significant role in emphasizing the fairness of the competition by ensuring that rules are supported constantly. They should prioritize honesty and prevent cheating, disrespect, or rude behavior. By emphasizing fair play, athletes learn to compete with honor, respect their opponents’ abilities, and understand that the true value of victory lies in the process and effort. The effort and improvement of athletes should be celebrated. Sportsmanship values effort, improvement, and personal growth as much as victory. Coaches, parents, and teammates should recognize and celebrate the commitment, determination, and struggle demonstrated by athletes. 10 This can help athletes develop a healthy mindset, which influences them positively in all aspects. A.Fair play lies at the heart of sportsmanship. B.Schools should provide training programs for athletes. C.It’s better to focus on the journey rather than the result. D.Athletes should have constructive dialogue with opponents. E.It goes beyond competition, emphasizing morality and values. F.Participation of athletes of all levels promotes a sense of belonging. G.With these values, athletes can inspire others to have sportsmanship. Passage 3 When you’re exhausted, the thought of putting on gym clothes and pushing yourself to work out can feel impossible. 11 . A new fitness trend has given a fresh name to these super low-intensity (低强度) activities: “zone zero” exercise. 12 . It generally refers to any activity in which your heart rate stays below half of its maximum capacity, such as taking an slow walk after dinner, going for an easy bike ride, playing with your kids or doing light housework. 13 . If you spend most of your time sitting, even adding a modest amount of movement to your day can help to improve your health. Over time, moving more step by step and at gradually higher intensities can improve your balance, muscle strength and endurance, too. Some studies suggest that people who are completely inactive face a significantly higher death rate compared with those who move slightly more. If zone zero activity is the only movement in your routine, the experts recommended incorporating (融入) it as often as possible throughout your day. 14 . Zone zero shouldn’t replace more intense exercise. However, if you regularly exercise at moderate or high intensities, zone zero training can be a useful complement but not a substitute (替代). 15 . But on rest days, it can be a worthwhile form of active rest or recovery. Don’t overcomplicate it. Giving the activities of everyday life a seemingly formal name may motivate some people, especially those who have felt excluded from more intense fitness spaces. But the key point is to increase your daily movement in whatever way feels manageable and sustainable. A.Less active people may benefit more from zone zero B.It can also be a helpful start to more intense exercise C.But a casual walk or a good stretch might not seem out of reach D.Exercise such as running with a group helps you to be more social E.Exercise requiring more effort will lead to greater fitness benefits F.Zone zero training is meant to be so easy that it feels almost effortless G.The benefits of physical activity go far beyond just physical fitness Passage 4 I’m a hiker — “born to hike”. It does my heart and soul good to take a pack and head out on a trail, especially when I’m alone and can let my mind wander where it will. The experience of hiking is unique, research suggests, conveying benefits beyond what you receive from typical exercise. 16 Hiking keeps your mind sharper than many other forms of exercise. As a professional writer, although I’m busy with my work, I often spare some time to hike. 17 18 Exercise in general can be a good way to decrease stress. But what sets hiking apart from other forms of exercise is that it’s done outdoors in a natural setting. It can happen almost anywhere and give you the happiness that you can take from nature. Hiking can increase our creativity. I’m sure I’m not alone in finding that walks in nature let my mind wander freely in creative directions. 19 Sometimes, ideas relevant to music come up from unconscious places when I’m not deliberately thinking. Hiking helps strengthen a positive relationship with the natural world. Besides being good for us, hiking may also help the world around us. After all, if we stick to walking and covering longer distances, we could use cars less and reduce our carbon footprint. 20 For example, it increases our connection to nature. As one study suggests, when we have a personal connection to nature, we are more likely to want to protect it. That means experiences in nature-like hiking can be mutually beneficial, helping people and the earth. So, grab a water bottle, a backpack … and head out on the trail. You won’t be sorry you did. A.Here is what science is saying about the benefits of hiking. B.Personally, it’s easy to hit upon some creative ideas while at home alone C.It not just makes me feel good but also keeps my brain in top shape. D.Hiking helps to keep you calm and happy. E.As a matter of fact, I have written many of my songs while hiking on a trail. F.Beyond that, hiking benefits our planet indirectly. G.This all goes to show that hiking may be one of the best ways to move your body. Passage 5 School sports meets are exciting events filled with energy and competition. 21 Taking proactive steps to protect yourself can ensure you enjoy every moment without sidelining(退出比赛) yourself with pain or discomfort. Never skip proper warm-ups. Before diving into any sport, spend 5-10 minutes on dynamic stretches such as leg swings, arm circles, and body twists. 22 This process loosens tight muscles, increases blood flow to your limbs, and readies your body for the sudden bursts of activity that sports demand—all of which significantly lower the risk of strains or pulls. 23 Loose clothing might feel comfortable, but it can get caught in equipment like hurdles or basketball hoops, leading to trips or tugs. Opt for fitted, moisture-wicking fabrics that move with your body instead. Even more crucial is footwear: running shoes with shock-absorbing soles cushion your feet during sprints, while basketball shoes with reinforced ankles prevent awkward twists when changing direction quickly. Strictly follow the rules. Coaches and organizers design these rules to keep everyone safe. In relay races, for example, passing the baton within the designated zone avoids collisions with other teams. In high jump, waiting for the mat to clear before your attempt prevents dangerous crashes. Ignoring these guidelines isn't just unfair. 24 Don't forget to cool down after competing. Once your event ends, walk briskly for 5-10 minutes instead of collapsing on the grass. Follow this with static(静止的) stretches, holding each position (like touching your toes or stretching your chest) for 15-30 seconds. This helps your heart rate return to normal, reduces muscle tightness, and speeds up recovery. 25 A.Invest in suitable gear(装备). B.It's a sure way to invite accidents. C.Prepare good equipment in advance. D.Or you will end up in the school clinic. E.And you'll be ready for your next event or practice. F.However, nothing puts a damper on(使扫兴) the fun like an unexpected injury. G.Pair these with light jogging or jumping jacks(开合跳) to gradually raise your heart rate. Passage 6 Influencers say sprinting (快跑) is the best way to burn fat. It sounds easy in theory — just run fast! 26 You shouldn’t just get up from the seat and right away start a super intense sprint training plan. So how can you add sprinting to your regular workouts safely? Start with a strong fitness base. If you’re not there yet, walking may be a better entry point. Then, ideally with guidance from a trainer, you can work sprint intervals (间隔) into your routine. Experts recommend starting with twice a week and no more than three. 27 28 You could go for a 5-to 10-minute walk to raise your core temperature and get your muscles warmed up. Then add active movements, such as leg swings, or high knees. Other exercise, like plyometric drills, can also help prepare your muscles. The footwear and surface also have to be suitable. 29 Treadmills (跑步机) work too—if they aren’t too hard. People with some body injuries should avoid sprinting. Instead, choose to get similar benefits from performing sprint-style intervals on a bike or in the pool. Finally, don’t treat sprinting as a one-size-fits-all solution. 30 Make sure that you’re covering all training zones, including weight training and high intensity. If you start ignoring pieces, you run the risk of becoming imbalanced and then opening up the door for injury. A.But it’s harder than it looks. B.Your body likes variation to adapt. C.Sprinting is only suitable for young people. D.Sprinting should be done daily for best results. E.Otherwise, you may overdo it and wear your body out. F.A sports field and a good pair of trainers can reduce impact. G.Warming up is a necessity for something as intense as sprints. 话题2 艺术(音乐,美术和诗歌)(人与社会) Passage 1 Research has found that music, serving as more than an art form, can be a powerful tool to promote mental well-being. Here are some associated benefits. Make you happy 1 . For example, you’ve probably felt a sense of relaxation while listening to comforting instruments before bed, the burst energy while singing in the shower, or the almost spiritual experience of hearing your favorite singer live. Researchers have drawn a connection between music and emotional control. 2 . Protect the immune system (免疫系统) Playing and listening to music helps reduce the production of cortisol (皮质醇) in the human body. Cortisol is known to weaken the immune system and cause a decrease in bone density in human beings. 3 . Additionally, for recovering patients, it is recommended by researchers that they listen to uplifting music as it helps increase the antibodies present in their immune system to fight diseases. 4 Music serves as a medium for social interactions. Group activities such as singing in a choir or playing in drumming circles can provide a sense of belonging. Having an outlet for social connection is crucial for mental health, as feelings of loneliness can worsen mental health issues. Performing as a group can also increase each player’s sense of cooperation and community. Maintain our cognitive (认知的) functions The complex process of playing music challenges a wide variety of brain activities that can improve a musician’s motor skills and the ability to compose. When children start gaining musical training from an early age, it can make a significant impact on furthering their cognitive development, including improvements in abilities connected learning languages, academic performance, and social skills. 5 . A.Help in stress relief B.Strengthen social connection C.Music used for treatment is not limited to just one practice D.Similarly, music can help older populations keep their minds sharp E.Chances are that you have noticed the influence of music on your mood F.By limiting it, music therefore helps the body protect itself from the harm G.They find that our brain will give off a feel-good chemical when we listen to music Passage 2 The Surprising Power of Music in Our Daily Lives Do you often study with headphones on? Or feel a sudden energy boost when your favorite song comes on? Music is far more than just entertainment; it’s a powerful force that shapes our feelings, thoughts, and even actions in many ways. 6 This is the most common use of music. A fast-paced song can make you feel excited and ready for a workout, while a gentle melody can help you calm down after a long day. When you feel sad, listening to a song that understands your feelings can be a great comfort. It’s like having a friend who always knows what to say. Music Serves as a Focus Tool. For many students, music is a necessary study partner. 7 This type of music, often without lyrics, creates a steady background atmosphere. It helps block out distracting noises like conversations or traffic, allowing you to concentrate better on your homework. Music Builds Social Connection. Music brings people together. Think about school concerts or parties. 8 Sharing a taste in music can be the start of a friendship. It acts as a universal language that helps us connect with others and feel part of a group. Music Brings Back Memories. Have you ever heard a song from your childhood and suddenly been flooded with clear memories? Music has a strong connection to memory. 9 Setting facts or vocabulary to a simple tune can make them much easier to remember. Try singing your next history timeline to a melody! Music Boosts Motivation. Finally, music is a fantastic motivator. Need to clean your room or finish a long run? Some upbeat music can be the answer. 10 So next time you face a boring task, turn on some energetic music. You might be surprised at how much faster it gets done. A.Music regulates our emotions. B.Music shapes our identity and culture. C.This is why it can be a valuable learning aid. D.It provides a rhythm that makes work lighter. E.It improves your mood and reduces the feeling of fatigue. F.In these settings, shared musical experiences create a sense of unity. G.Specifically, classical or light music is often chosen for this purpose. Passage 3 Can you think of a day without music? We can hear music everywhere: in the streets and at home, over the radio and on TV, in the shops and in the parks. 11 They listen to music, they dance to music, and they learn to play musical instruments. Music isn’t only a combination of pleasant sounds. It is an art which reflects life. There are a lot of different kinds of music. Some of them appeared long ago, and some are modern. Folk music appeared long ago, but it is still alive. Folk songs are very pleasant to listen to. 12 Rap is a modern musical style where the singer speaks or shouts the words in time to music with a steady beat. Great Britain has produced more popular music stars than any other country. British groups often set new trends in music. 13 Many of the new bands have been able to use changes in technology to develop their music such as computerised drum machines, synthesisers and other electronic instruments. 14 So people’s musical interests range from pop and rock music to classical music and opera. My favourite style of music is pop music, because it is full of energy. When I listen to pop music it makes me remember happy times and forget the problems of everyday life. I also enjoy listening to classical music. Music appeals to our hearts. 15 Music is beauty in sounds; it is our magic source of inspiration. A.Tastes differ. B.Music is quite unlike any other art form. C.It comforts our souls and enriches our minds. D.People all over the world are fond of music. E.Classical music is often associated with the music of the past. F.New styles, groups and singers continue to appear. G.Music is a great channel for releasing your emotions. Passage 4 Reimagining history is a fascinating phenomenon in contemporary art. More and more, I realize that artists are trying to retell historical events and past figures, to reflect on the past and to offer new perspectives on our current context. Artists have taken historical figures and given them new meanings that I find inspiring. Wiley, for instance, is known for his portraits of Black men and women in poses traditionally associated with the upper class. 16 That invites me to reflect on the power in the history of art. On the other hand, Christian Boltanski reimagines history by focusing on the traces of ordinary people. His artwork, The Heart Archives, is a collection of recorded heartbeats from thousands of people around the world, stored on a remote island in Japan. Instead of focusing on grand historical events, Boltanski builds a bridge to the past through the most universal human experience. 17 18 Projects like “The Legacy of the 1960s” at the Museum of Modern Art in New York gather works from multiple artists that analyze the impact of social movements from that decade. This cooperative approach allows me to hear various voices, offering me a richer and more complex view of history. Reimagining history can also be an act of protest. Artists like Doris Salcedo address painful historical events, such as the violence in Colombia, to give voice to the forgotten victims. Through this emotional art piece, Salcedo invites audience to reflect on the pain of the past and its relevance in the present, reminding us that the past is never truly separate from the present. 19 20 Some argue that reimagining history can belittle serious events or twist historical truth. It is essential that artists, including myself, approach this process with responsibility and a critical sense. A.His work aims to portray the Black in a realistic way. B.However, I am aware reimagining is not without its criticisms. C.Reimagining successfully lead people to view history critically. D.This type of work not only honors memory but also calls for action. E.Through such poetic gestures, I feel a deep sense of shared humanity. F.Besides individual artists, collective exhibitions are key in reimagining. G.In doing so, he challenges historical accounts that ignore people of color. Here are a few tips to help you write a good poem. 27 To determine a topic to write about, look for inspiration around you, perhaps in nature, your community or the people in your life. Take notes on how different things make you feel and what they drive you to think about. Once you have a topic and a theme in mind, choose to write in a particular style so that you force yourself to find a way to creatively express your theme while fitting that style’s limits. Explore words, rhymes (韵律) and rhythm (节奏). Specific rhythm or rhyme highlights your poem’s themes and wordplay (双关语). To use rhythm well, pair it with a specific style. If you choose a style, read similar poems for reference. 28 Now it’s time to write! Whether you use a pen and paper or type on a computer, give yourself some uninterrupted time to focus on writing the poem. Don’t expect to write something perfect on the first try. 29 Even if your lines don’t rhyme perfectly, write what’s on your mind. The theme your words are expressing is more important than the specific words themselves. Once you have a draft, the next step is to edit your poem. 30 Then in a day or two, come back to your poem with a critical eye. Read it aloud again, take note of any spots where you can replace a word with a stronger one, tighten your rhythm, or even remove words that aren’t adding anything to the poem. A.But first, give yourself a break. B.Decide what you want to write about. C.Instead, focus on getting your words out. D.It can give voice to feelings and communicate thoughts. E.This helps you understand how rhythm works in that style. F.It can also tell stories and communicate hidden messages. G.Using simple words is always the best choice for poetry writing. 话题3 科学技术(人与社会) Passage 1 How to Stay Safe Online It’s no secret that the internet is home to some shady characters, but staying safe online doesn’t require you to turn your internet off. Instead, stay mindful and take a look at these easy tips on internet safety. 1 When it comes to online safety, it goes without saying that you should never share your passwords, banking information, or address online. Keep in mind that identity theft isn’t the only risk. 2 For example, information about your relationships could be used to figure out answers to your security questions or even give hackers (黑客) a tip-off when it comes to guessing your password. Double-check any links before you click. When checking your email or looking through social media, make sure you know and trust any links before you click on them. One way to tell if a link is safe is to run a mouse over it. 3 Check to make sure the preview link matches the site it should be from. You can verify (证实) the correct site link by googling the company name. Create and use complex passwords. You should always use complex passwords to improve internet safety. If you need some help coming up with a secure password, here are some tips. Make it at least 15 characters long-longer, if possible. 4 Don’t use sequences of numbers or letters, like “qwerty.” Back up your data. Most Macs and PCs have the option to let you back up your data, and it’s worthwhile taking the time to do it every so often. Data backups can be a lifesaver if your computer gets infected with a virus. 5 A.Be careful who you chat with. B.Mix up letters, numbers, and symbols. C.Don’t share your personal information. D.This will show a preview of the full link. E.This tip includes links sent to you by friends. F.You can restore your computer to its original state. G.Some details are riskier to share than you’d expect. Passage 2 Aging Isn’t Just About Decline We spend billions fighting aging and yet scientists argue this focus on decline misses the bigger picture. “Aging isn’t worsening: it’s living,” says Professor Michelle Feng. A key factor for that is stress management: Studies show older adults exhibit calmer responses under pressure. 6 . Emotional intelligence deepens with time. While youth often hold back emotions, older adults excel in looking at challenges differently. 7 . So elders are always honored as our life instructors. “When your time is more limited, you may focus on meaningful things that can benefit you now instead of in the future,” says Feng. 8 Long-term partnerships frequently reach peak satisfaction in their 60s and 70s. Women, in particular, report heightened emotional fulfillment despite physical changes. This agrees with broader happiness trends and studies now suggest the longer you are with your life partner, the closer you will be. Critically, mindset shapes outcomes. 9 .A landmark study found that people embracing positive aging lived 7.5 years longer than those resigned to decline. “How we age isn’t predetermined,” Feng emphasizes. “We really have so much more control over how we age than we think we do, and that can empower you to make decisions that are good for you.” From stress management to daily joy, the data underlines aging as an ongoing process of growth—not just loss. 10 . A.Closeness often improves with age B.Elders are confronted with more challenges C.This kind of wisdom improves emotional intelligence D.In turn, these positive reactions lead to better mental health E.It’s a common belief that older adults are less capable of handling moods F.Therefore, if our attitude makes a positive change, we can lead a better later life G.What we think about aging has a huge impact on how we actually experience it Passage 3 Nearsightedness is a common vision condition in which close objects look clear but far objects look blurry. 11 Myopia happens when the shape of the eye — or the shape of certain parts of the eye — causes light rays to bend or refract. Roughly 42% of Americans are nearsighted today, compared to 25% in 1971. The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that about half of the world’s population will have myopia, or nearsightedness, by 2050. It’s clear that our vision is becoming increasingly blurry, but researchers are only now beginning to understand why. While our first response is to blame the increased use of screens, experts believe the real reason is not that, exactly, but it’s related: namely less time spent outdoors. 12 A 2017 study published in JAMA Ophthalmology found a link between increased UVB (中波紫外线) exposure and a decrease in myopia, particularly in children and young adults. 13 . Most screens are high contrast-like black text on a white page, or light text on a dark background. It’s still a theory, but some scientists think that the contrast of reading a book or looking at a bright screen in a dark room might be overstimulating our retinas (视网膜), causing more eye growth in children. Most people’s vision will stabilize in their teens, but some people develop myopia later in life, typically between ages 20 and 40. 14 . People with myopia are at a higher risk of developing eye issues as they age, such as glaucoma, early cataracts and macular degeneration. That’s why regular eye examinations are important. 15 , such as ensuring that you are reading or working in good light, choosing non-glare screens for your computer or TV and taking frequent breaks. A.Blurry vision isn’t the only problem. B.There is a sharp increase in nearsightedness. C.The medical term for nearsightedness is myopia. D.Natural light is essential for healthy eye development. E.That said, our increased use of screens is still a problem. F.Researchers are working on ways to slow down rising myopia rates. G.You can also prevent eye issues by making a few simple lifestyle changes. Passage 4 For centuries, we kept track of our time by using paper calendars (日历), which were pretty but limited. With technological advances, digital calendars have appeared. 16 But features were quickly added to make them incredibly powerful. Here are some ways a digital calendar will handle your busy schedule better than pen and paper. Repeating events are always there. Many of the events on our calendar aren’t something we do once. 17 Attend a book club at 11 each Saturday? Go to the softball center at 6:30 on Thursdays? When you create such events, every occurrence automatically shows up on your calendar. 18 With a paper calendar, you can only schedule meetings and write down a save-the-date a few months in advance. But that’s it. A digital calendar lets you go as far as you need to. And you can schedule something for 2031 as though it were next week. You’ll get there on time! When you record the location of an appointment in your digital calendar, you can get directions to the event. Even better, your phone or computer can take current traffic conditions into account. 19 Co-ordinating (协调) schedules is easy to achieve. When you have to co-ordinate with others, a shared digital calendar helps. It can keep the problem from becoming increasingly harder. 20 Remind participants of the rescheduled, relocated, or removed meetings, and keep everyone on the same page. A.You can see far into the future. B.They’re something we do over and over. C.Can you make a digital calendar look more beautiful? D.However, you may forget that someone is waiting for you. E.At first, they were little more than a direct translation of paper ones. F.Thus, your digital calendar will inform you of a suitable time to leave. G.Let your calendar search for the next time when everyone is available. Passage 5 After hours of cooking and arranging the table, your goal is simple: to create an unforgettable dining experience for your guests. But success isn’t just about fresh ingredients or cooking skills. 21 Colour’s influence starts with the first glance. 22 The brain processes colour information and links it to taste, making us judge the same dish as delicious, average, or unappealing. So, making the food visually attractive is key, as guests will assume it tastes as good as it looks. For picky eaters, bowl colour is crucial. 23 They often find meals in red or blue bowls saltier than in white ones. A red bowl can also make them hesitant to try new dishes, and they might even refuse food if the bowl’s colour doesn’t suit them. Choosing the right tableware colour is top priority here. White plates are usually a safe choice, but avoid them with pale foods, which will look tasteless. They work well with vibrant dishes like salads or roasted meats, making the food’s colours stand out. For desserts, white plates enhance sweetness and flavor intensity. 24 Black plates, for example, can make food seem saltier and larger in portion. This means dark tableware needs careful consideration of the dish’s flavor and portion size. On the contrary, bright plates add creativity and highlight less colorful foods but can go wrong. 25 matching the plate’s colour too closely to the food can make portions seem smaller, as everything blends. Understanding colour psychology lets you turn a simple meal into a memorable experience — all through smart tableware choices. It allows you to guide your guests’ perceptions subtly, ensuring that each dish not only tastes wonderful but also feels perfectly suited to the moment. A.Dark plates have more varied effects. B.They prefer simple tableware without any patterns. C.The wrong bright shade makes food look artificial. D.That initial visual impression brings about a chain reaction. E.Using the wrong colour can ruin the overall dining mood. F.Their reactions to tableware colours are often more sensitive. G.The colour of tableware like plates, shapes how guests feel about the food. 话题4 饮食与医疗健康(人与社会) Passage 1 When you think of robots, a wide series of images may come to mind. Do you imagine them walking and talking like humans, completely integrating into our social life or performing difficult tasks with ease? While robots have made remarkable advancements in recent years, they still face numerous challenges in truly copying human behavior. 1 Robots are increasingly being used in healthcare settings for a variety of tasks. From assisting in surgeries (外科手术) to providing companionship for the elderly, robots are becoming invaluable members of the healthcare team. 2 They rely heavily on advanced technology. Advanced sensors and artificial intelligence (AI) are key to a robot’s ability to understand and respond to its environment. 3 They can also analyze the collected data, and make informed decisions based on that information. For example, a robot designed to assist in surgeries can use sensors to monitor a patient’s vital signs in real time and change its actions accordingly. This ensures that the robot’s actions are always in the best interest of the patient. 4 They can be programmed to provide specific exercises or treatments tailored to an individual patient’s needs. This personalized approach ensures patients receive the most effective treatment possible. Furthermore, robots can also reduce the workload of healthcare professionals. Despite the many benefits of using robots in healthcare, there are still concerns about their safety and effectiveness. 5 As technology continues to advance, we can expect to see more robots playing a critical role in healthcare, changing the way we approach medical care. A.But how do these robots know what and how to do? B.The future of robotics in the use of surgeries is promising. C.In addition, robots are also playing a part in patient care. D.However, the field of health care is not without challenges. E.These technologies allow robots to detect changes in their surroundings. F.Researchers are constantly working to improve them in the robotic systems. G.However, one area where robots are making significant progress in healthcare. Passage 2 Most of us know that eating too much sugar isn’t good for us. With its consumption being linked to health dangers, sugar is high on most our lists of bad habits worth giving up. Reducing sugar intake helps you avoid the harms of over-consumption. It can also bring about some surprising upsides. 6 To gain such benefits, the first thing to understand is that not all sugar is bad for you. There’s a big difference between natural sugars and added sugars. 7 They not only provide energy but also offer sweetness to entice (引诱) us to eat the foods that contain important nutrients (营养成分). 8 In other words, you’re eating a lot of sugar, but you’re also getting many important nutrients your body needs. Added sugars, on the other hand, are sugars that are introduced to foods during processing, cooking, or at the table. There are more than 200 names for various added sugars on food labels. 9 Or, foods with added sugars don't provide meaningful amounts of any vitamins, minerals, or dietary fiber to offset them. Dropping or limiting added sugars in the diet can help you not only avoid such outcomes but can also improve your quality of life. 10 . One study showed that adolescents with a fatty liver disease who followed a low-sugar diet for just eight weeks improved their liver health. Short-term decreases in added sugar can also help you avoid sugar crashes and make it easier to maintain energy and healthier habits in the long term. A.Natural sugar can affect your mood as well. B.Natural sugars in the foods are naturally occurring. C.Those nutrients balance the sugar contained within. D.These include improved mood, skin and dental health. E.They are often added to sweeten the taste of unhealthy foods. F.Even temporarily reducing added sugars can provide benefits. G.Limiting sugar intake before a test may help you think more clearly. Passage 3 Being one of the most varied foods, eggs are a great addition to any diet. Not only are they easier to add to just about any meal, but they are also incredibly nutritious and support overall health. 11 You may experience better brain function. Eggs provide choline (胆碱) — a key substance that enhances communication between brain cells, ensuring messages are delivered efficiently like a well-organized delivery system. Thus, eating eggs regularly can strengthen your memory. 12 What’s more, the nutrients in eggs act like brain fuel, keeping you focused during classes or while doing homework. You may have healthier eyes. Eating eggs helps protect your eyes with natural substances that act as natural sunglasses, blocking harmful light like screen blue light. Egg yolks contain more eye guarding nutrients than carrots, reducing eye fatigue (疲劳) during study sessions. 13 You can have stronger muscles and bones. Eggs provide quality protein for muscle repair after exercise, while their vitamin D works with other nutrients like calcium and phosphorus to strengthen bones. 14 Regular consumption supports muscle growth during daily activities and keeps bones strong. 15 It may seem like other foods are much better at making you feel full, but eggs are actually an excellent selection to help you keep it that way. They are the ideal mix of protein and fat and can be extremely satisfying and filling. By consuming more eggs, you are able to significantly decrease short term food and snacks. A.Eggs are a good source when you’re busy B.You can have a full stomach for longer time. C.You can get more protein after having an egg. D.So regular egg consumption helps maintain clear vision. E.This makes it easier to remember school lessons or daily tasks F.When you eat eggs regularly, this is what happens to your body. G.They can help to maintain bone structure and prevent weakness. Passage 4 Our tongue plays a crucial role in eating, talking, and other vital functions. It is not a single muscle but rather a muscular organ made up of eight muscle pairs that help it move. The surface of the tongue is covered by tiny bumps. 16 They’re called papillae and give the tongue a rough surface. These are sometimes mistaken for taste buds, but they’re not. Of your 200,000-300,000 papillae, only a small part contains taste buds. So what does a healthy tongue look like? A healthy tongue is pink, although the shade may vary from person to person, ranging from dark to light pink. 17 But great changes or discoloration may indicate a disease or other issues. When you go to see a doctor, your tongue can reveal a lot about your health. The doctor will look for any changes in the tongue’s surface or how it moves, which can indicate issues in the mouth itself and show the state of your overall health as well. 18 Cleaning your tongue twice a day can help you check how your tongue looks and feels - and improve your breath. 19 Cleaning your tongue only takes around 10-15 seconds, but it is a good way to check in with your health and can easily be incorporated into your teeth brushing routine. You can clean your tongue by gently scrubbing it with a regular toothbrush. This removes any food debris and helps prevent microbes building up on its rough textured (有纹理的) surface. Or you can use a special tongue scraper (刮刀). Your co-workers will thank you as well — cleaning your tongue can help combat stinky breath. Tongue scrapers are particularly effective at removing the bacteria that commonly causes bad breath, hidden in the tongue’s surface. 20 A.They can be seen and felt. B.How should you clean your tongue? C.So how to keep our tongues healthy? D.A small amount of white coating can be normal. E.So take small, daily action to ensure you’ve good health. F.But there’s no need to wait anxiously for a trip to the doctor. G.So if you’ve been dealing with a bad breath, try cleaning your tongue today. Passage 5 Nature comforts our stressed-out souls. We know that nature is the best prescription, and new research suggests we can gain benefits while visiting parks. 21 The study published in the International Journal of Environmental Health Research found that spending 20 minutes in a city park can make you happier, regardless of whether you use that time to exercise or not. “In general, we found park visitors reported an improvement in emotional well-being after the park visit,”  the study’s lead author, Professor Hon K. Yuen at the University of Alabama at Birmingham said in a statement. “ 22 Instead, we found time spent in the park is related to improved emotional well-being. ” For the study, 94 adults visited three city parks in Mountain Brook, Alabama. 23 They also completed a questionnaire about their subjective well-being before and after their visit. A visit of between 20 and 25 minutes showed the best results, with a roughly 64% increase in the participants’ self-reported well-being, even if they didn’t move a great deal in the park. 24 The study group was truly small, as the study’s co-author and another UAB professor, Gavin Jenkins, acknowledged. 25 The challenge facing cities is that there is increasing evidence about the value of city parks but we continue to see the decrease of these spaces. A.But we didn’t find levels of physical activity are linked to improved emotional well-being. B.The length of their physical activity was tracked. C.The best part of it is that you needn’t visit a national park or go far out of your way. D.However, its findings pointed out the importance of city parks. E.If you want to feel happier, you just need to exercise for 20 minutes in a park. F.This means people can benefit from visiting a nearby park, regardless of physical ability. G.You usually visit a small green space in your neighborhood. Passage 6 Spending time in the sun can be beneficial. 26 This is because the sun causes changes in the body that require more effort, leading to tiredness. What can you do to safely spend time in the sun? Here’s some advice. Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to drink water. Drink water before you even feel thirsty. 27 And remember to drink water before you get into the sun as well as throughout the time you’re spending outside. While electrolyte beverages (电解质饮品) can be useful if you’re sweating a lot, it’s best to drink water when you’re out in the sun. Protect your skin from sunburn. Use sunscreen (防晒霜) that has an SPF of 30 or higher. Reapply it every two hours, or after swimming or sweating when you’re outside. Also, wear protective clothing, sunglasses, and hats. 28 This is when the sun’s rays are strongest and can cause the most skin damage. Don’t lie in the sun just to darken your skin, which speeds up the aging of your skin and increases your risk for all types of skin cancer. 29 Wear lightweight and loose clothing, drinks a cold beverage, go for a swim in the pool, use a fan and seek shade. This can greatly assist in lowering your body temperature, allowing you to expend less energy on regulating your body heat. Watch for signs that you need to see a doctor. The best way to tell if you’re just tired or experiencing more serious signs of heat-related issues is to see how you feel once you’re out of the heat. 30 If you’re still feeling ill within 15 minutes, you should seek medical care. A.Cool your body off. B.These all require extra energy from your body. C.Avoid being in the sun between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. D.Get into a cool environment and drink lots of liquids. E.When you do feel thirsty, drink more than you think you should. F.None of this is meant to suggest that you stay indoors away from the sun’s rays. G.However, after hours in the sun, even when relaxing, you might feel extra sleepy. $专题01 阅读理解4大常考话题 话题1体育赛事(常考点)(人与社会) 话题4 饮食与医疗健康(常考点)(人与自我) 话题2 艺术(音乐,美术和诗歌)(人与社会) 话题3 科学技术(常考点)(人与社会) 46 / 47 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 话题1 饮食健康(人与自我) Passage 1 The best way to get started with cooking — or improve the skills you already have — is to make friends with your kitchen, says Mark Bittman.” 1 You can do this by opening drawers and doors, seeing what’s in the fridge, and learning about knives and tools,” Bittman, author of the new book How to Cook Everything Kids, told The Week Junior. 21.根据前文“School sports meets are exciting events filled with energy and competition.(校运会是充满活力与竞争的激动人心的活动)”以及后文“Taking proactive steps to protect yourself can ensure you enjoy every moment without sidelining yourself with pain or discomfort.(采取积极措施保护自己,能确保你享受每一刻,不因疼痛或不适退出比赛)”可知,此空需通过转折引出“受伤”这一问题,自然过渡到保护建议。F选项“However, nothing puts a damper on the fun like an unexpected injury.(然而,没有什么比意外受伤更让人扫兴的了)”符合语境。故选F项。 22.根据前文“Before diving into any sport, spend 5-10 minutes on dynamic stretches such as leg swings, arm circles, and body twists.(开始任何运动前,花5-10分钟做动态拉伸,如摆腿、绕臂和转体)”,以及后文“This process loosens tight muscles, increases blood flow to your limbs...(这个过程能放松紧绷的肌肉,增加四肢的血液流动……)” G选项“Pair these with light jogging or jumping jacks to gradually raise your heart rate.(搭配轻度慢跑或开合跳,逐步提高心率)”符合语境。故选G项。 23. 根据下文“Loose clothing might feel comfortable, but it can get caught in equipment like hurdles or basketball hoops, leading to trips or tugs. Opt for fitted, moisture-wicking fabrics that move with your body instead. Even more crucial is footwear: running shoes with shock-absorbing soles cushion your feet during sprints, while basketball shoes with reinforced ankles prevent awkward twists when changing direction quickly.(宽松的衣服可能穿起来舒服,但容易被跨栏、篮球框这类器械勾到,进而导致绊倒或拉伤。 故选A项。 24. B选项“It's a sure way to invite accidents.(这无疑会招致意外)”符合语境。故选B项。 25.根据前文“This helps your heart rate return to normal, reduces muscle tightness, and speeds up recovery.(这有助于心率恢复正常,缓解肌肉紧绷,加速恢复)”可知,此空需补充“赛后冷却”的最终好处。E选项“And you'll be ready for your next event or practice.(这样你就能为下一场比赛或训练做好准备)”符合语境。故选E项。 Passage 6 Influencers say sprinting (快跑) is the best way to burn fat. 26.上文提到“Influencers say sprinting (快跑) is the best way to burn fat. It sounds easy in theory — just run fast! 快跑理论上听起来很简单——只要跑得快就行,下文“You shouldn’t just get up from the seat and right away start a super intense sprint training plan. A项“But it’s harder than it looks. 故选A。 27.上文“Then, ideally with guidance from a trainer, you can work sprint intervals (间隔) into your routine. Experts recommend starting with twice a week and no more than three. E项“Otherwise, you may overdo it and wear your body out. 28.下文“You could go for a 5-to 10-minute walk to raise your core temperature and get your muscles warmed up. G项 “Warming up is a necessity for something as intense as sprints. 29.上文“The footwear and surface also have to be suitable. A sports field and a good pair of trainers can reduce impact. 30.上文提到“Finally, don’t treat sprinting as a one-size-fits-all solution. 不要把快跑当作万能解决方案,下文“Make sure that you’re covering all training zones, including weight training and high intensity. If you start ignoring pieces, you run the risk of becoming imbalanced and then opening up the door for injury. B项“Your body likes variation to adapt. 话题2 艺术(音乐,美术和诗歌)(人与社会) Passage 1 Research has found that music, serving as more than an art form, can be a powerful tool to promote mental well-being. Here are some associated benefits. Make you happy 1 . 16.由上文“Wiley, for instance, is known for his portraits of Black men and women in poses traditionally associated with the upper class. 26.上文“Poetry expresses emotions and conveys ideas, but that’s not all it can do.(诗歌表达情感,传达思想,但这还不是它所能做的全部。)”说明诗歌还有其他的用途,F选项“It can also tell stories and communicate hidden messages.(它还可以讲故事和传达隐藏的信息。)” 27.下文“To determine a topic to write about, look for inspiration around you, perhaps in nature, your community or the people in your life.(要确定一个写作主题,可以从你周围的寻找灵感,也许是在大自然中,你的社区,或者你生活中的人。)”说明了确定写作主题的方法,B选项“Decide what you want to write about.(决定你想写什么。)” 28.上文“If you choose a style, read similar poems for reference.(如果你选择了一种风格,可以阅读类似的诗歌作为参考。)”说明了选择风格后可以参考类似的诗歌,E选项“This helps you understand how rhythm works in that style.(这有助于你理解那种风格的节奏是如何运作的。)” 29.上文“Don’t expect to write something perfect on the first try.(不要期望第一次就能写出完美的作品。)”说明了写作时不要期望一次就能写出完美的作品,C选项“Instead, focus on getting your words out.(相反,专注于把你的想法表达出来。)” 30.下文“Then in a day or two, come back to your poem with a critical eye.(然后一两天后,用批判的眼光重新审视你的诗。)” 故选A。 话题3 科学技术(人与社会) Passage 1 How to Stay Safe Online It’s no secret that the internet is home to some shady characters, but staying safe online doesn’t require you to turn your internet off. 10 . A.Closeness often improves with age B.Elders are confronted with more challenges C.This kind of wisdom improves emotional intelligence D.In turn, these positive reactions lead to better mental health E.It’s a common belief that older adults are less capable of handling moods F.Therefore, if our attitude makes a positive change, we can lead a better later life G.What we think about aging has a huge impact on how we actually experience it 【答案】6.D 7.C 8.A 9.G 10.F 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。 6.根据前文“Studies show older adults exhibit calmer responses under pressure.(研究表明,老年人在压力下表现出更平静的反应)”可知,此空应承接“平静反应”,说明其带来的积极影响,D选项“In turn, these positive reactions lead to better mental health (反过来,这些积极的反应会带来更好的心理健康)”中的these positive reactions指代前文的“calmer responses”,且体现了逻辑递进关系,符合语境。故选D项。 7.根据本段小标题“Emotional intelligence deepens with time.(情绪智力会随着时间的推移而加深)”以及空前“older adults excel in looking at challenges differently.(老年人擅长以不同的方式看待挑战)”可知,此空需连接“看待挑战的方式”与“情绪智力”的关联,C选项“This kind of wisdom improves emotional intelligence(这种智慧会提升情绪智力)”中的This kind of wisdom指代老年人应对挑战的方式,且直接呼应本段主题,符合语境。故选C项。 8. 根据空后“Long-term partnerships frequently reach peak satisfaction in their 60s and 70s.(长期伴侣关系通常在60多岁和70多岁时达到满意度顶峰)”和“the longer you are with your life partner, the closer you will be.(你和人生伴侣相处的时间越长,你们的关系就会越亲密)”可知,本段围绕“年龄增长与亲密关系提升”展开,A选项“Closeness often improves with age(亲密感往往会随着年龄增长而提升)”精准概括本段主题,适合作小标题。故选A项。 9.根据本段小标题“Critically, mindset shapes outcomes.(关键在于,心态塑造结果)”以及空后“A landmark study found that people embracing positive aging lived 7.5 years longer than those resigned to decline.(一项具有里程碑意义的研究发现,持积极衰老态度的人比接受衰退的人多活了7.5年)”可知,此空需引出“对衰老的想法”与“实际衰老体验”的关联,G选项“What we think about aging has a huge impact on how we actually experience it(我们对衰老的看法,会对我们实际体验衰老的方式产生巨大影响)”直接呼应小标题中的“心态”,且为后文研究内容做铺垫,符合语境。故选G项。 10.根据前文““How we age isn’t predetermined,” Feng emphasizes. “We really have so much more control over how we age than we think we do, and that can empower you to make decisions that are good for you.”(冯教授强调:“我们如何衰老并非命中注定。 Passage 3 Nearsightedness is a common vision condition in which close objects look clear but far objects look blurry. 11.后文“Myopia happens when the shape of the eye — or the shape of certain parts of the eye — causes light rays to bend or refract.(当眼睛的形状或眼睛某些部位的形状导致光线弯曲或折射时,就会发生近视)”解释了什么是myopia,因此空处应提出myopia这个术语。 12.后文“A 2017 study published in JAMA Ophthalmology found a link between increased UVB (中波紫外线) exposure and a decrease in myopia, particularly in children and young adults.(2017年发表在《美国医学会眼科学》上的一项研究发现,中波紫外线暴露增加与近视减少之间存在联系,尤其是在儿童和年轻人中)”指出,接触中波紫外线会降低近视发生的概率,由此可知,自然光对眼睛的发育很重要。 13.根据后文“It’s still a theory, but some scientists think that the contrast of reading a book or looking at a bright screen in a dark room might be overstimulating our retinas (视网膜), causing more eye growth in children.(这仍然是个理论,但一些科学家认为,在黑暗的房间里看书或看明亮的屏幕的对比可能会过度刺激我们的视网膜,导致儿童的眼睛生长更快)”可知,本段主要说明文电子屏幕对我们视力的负面影响,因此E项“话虽如此,我们电子屏幕使用率的增加仍然是一个问题”符合语境,可以作为本段主旨,故选E。 14.根据该空后“People with myopia are at a higher risk of developing eye issues as they age, such as glaucoma, early cataracts and macular degeneration.(随着年龄的增长,近视患者患青光眼、早期白内障和黄斑变性等眼部疾病的风险更高)”可知,近视带来的问题不仅仅是视力模糊这么简单,A项“视力模糊并不是唯一的问题”符合语境,故选A。 15.该空后“such as ensuring that you are reading or working in good light, choosing nonglare screens for your computer or TV and taking frequent breaks(比如确保你在良好的光线下阅读或工作,为电脑或电视选择防眩光屏幕,经常休息)”列举了一些保护视力的具体方法,由此推测空处应指出有预防近视问题的方法。 G。 Passage 4 For centuries, we kept track of our time by using paper calendars (日历), which were pretty but limited. 16.根据上文“With technological advances, digital calendars have appeared. 以及后文“But features were quickly added to make them incredibly powerful. Here are some ways a digital calendar will handle your busy schedule better than pen and paper. E选项中的“At first”(起初)与后文“quickly added”(很快添加)形成时间对比,“little more than a direct translation of paper ones”(不过是纸质日历的直接替代品)呼应前文“纸质日历有局限性”,同时为后文“功能升级”做铺垫,逻辑连贯。 17.根据上文“Repeating events are always there. Many of the events on our calendar aren’t something we do once. 以及后文“Attend a book club at 11 each Saturday? Go to the softball center at 6:30 on Thursdays? B选项中的“do over and over” 与前文“aren’t something we do once”形成转折,且与后文“repeating events”(重复事件)主题一致,直接衔接下文举例,符合逻辑。 18.根据后文“With a paper calendar, you can only schedule meetings and write down a save-the-date a few months in advance. But that’s it. A digital calendar lets you go as far as you need to. And you can schedule something for 2031 as though it were next week. A选项直接点明主题,“see far into the future”与后文“schedule something for 2031”直接呼应,形成总分关系,符合语境。 19.根据上文“You’ll get there on time! When you record the location of an appointment in your digital calendar, you can get directions to the event. Even better, your phone or computer can take current traffic conditions into account. F选项中的“thus”(因此)承接前文因果关系,“inform you of a suitable time to leave”(告知合适的出发时间)是“考虑交通状况”的自然结果,与段落主题“准时到达”一致。 20.根据上文“Co-ordinating (协调) schedules is easy to achieve. When you have to co-ordinate with others, a shared digital calendar helps. It can keep the problem from becoming increasingly harder. 以及后文“Remind participants of the rescheduled, relocated, or removed meetings, and keep everyone on the same page. G。 Passage 5 After hours of cooking and arranging the table, your goal is simple: to create an unforgettable dining experience for your guests. 21.根据上文“But success isn’t just about fresh ingredients or cooking skills. 以及下文“Colour’s influence starts with the first glance. G选项“The colour of tableware like plates, shapes how guests feel about the food. 22.根据上文“Colour’s influence starts with the first glance. 6.由上文“Reducing sugar intake helps you avoid the harms of over-consumption. 16.上文“The surface of the tongue is covered by tiny bumps. E.When you do feel thirsty, drink more than you think you should. F.None of this is meant to suggest that you stay indoors away from the sun’s rays. G.However, after hours in the sun, even when relaxing, you might feel extra sleepy. 26.上文“Spending time in the sun can be beneficial.(晒太阳有益健康。)”提出晒太阳有益;而空后转折“This is because the sun causes changes in the body that require more effort, leading to tiredness.(这是因为阳光会使身体产生一些变化,而这些变化需要消耗更多能量,进而导致疲劳。)” G“However, after hours in the sun, even when relaxing, you might feel extra sleepy.(然而,即便只是放松状态,长时间暴晒后你可能会格外困倦。)” 27.上文“Drink water before you even feel thirsty.(在感到口渴之前就应补充水分。)” E“When you do feel thirsty, drink more than you think you should.(当你真的觉得口渴时,饮水量要比你认为需要的更多。)” 28.上文“Use sunscreen (防晒霜) that has an SPF of 30 or higher. Reapply it every two hours, or after swimming or sweating when you’re outside. Also, wear protective clothing, sunglasses, and hats.(使用防晒指数30及以上的防晒霜。 而空后“This is when the sun’s rays are strongest and can cause the most skin damage.(这段时间是太阳光线最强的时段,对皮肤的损伤也最大。)” C“Avoid being in the sun between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.(避免在上午10点至下午2点之间暴晒。)” 根据本段内容“Wear lightweight and loose clothing, drinks a cold beverage, go for a swim in the pool, use a fan and seek shade. This can greatly assist in lowering your body temperature, allowing you to expend less energy on regulating your body heat.(穿戴轻便宽松的衣物、饮用冷饮、去泳池游泳、使用风扇并寻找阴凉处休息。 A“Cool your body off. 故选A。 30.上文“The best way to tell if you’re just tired or experiencing more serious signs of heat-related issues is to see how you feel once you’re out of the heat. D“Get into a cool environment and drink lots of liquids.(进入凉爽环境并大量饮水)”是离开高温后的首要应对措施,承接前文内容。故选D。 $
