Step 2 Work on 2a 1.Get the students to think about the question and then discuss in groups:What is the most important thing you have learned in junior high school? 2.Ask individual students to answer the question.Then tell them they may find a good answer to this question in the following passage and lead to the reading. Step 3 Work on 2b 1.Ask the questions in 2b and get the students to focus on the literary form and the writing aims.Let the students guess the answers first.Then make them read the passage for the first time.And check the answers. 2.Let the students read the passage and learn the key words and expressions:be thirsty for,be thankful to sb.,ahead of,along with,be responsible for,set out,separate from,etc. Step 4 Work on 2c 1.Let the students read the questions in 2c. 2.Let the students read the passage again and ask some students to answer the questions. Step 5 Work on 2d 1.Get the students to read the passage slowly and learn the structure of the writing.Then let them find the key sentences and key words or phrases in each paragraph.Get them to write down the words and phrases. 2.Get the students to learn how to write a speech for graduation.Guide them to feel the pleasure and the pride in the speech and learn to be thankful to the people around them. 3.Ask the students to read the passage again and finish the task in 2d.Ask several students to read the sentences and say their Chinese meanings.
