Henry’s stories? 1. surprise endings; 2. the everyday life of ordinary people Lead-in Activity 1 Observe and describe (2 mins, together) Look at the picture and guess what happened in the story. After Twenty Years Pre-reading What are the elements of a novel story? characters, settings, plots, 4 “WH-” Who? Where? When? What? What happened 20 years ago?(para.1) the man: Jimmy: Dined together Different choices Made a promise Wish started for the West to make his fortune stay in New York What 's their promise? They promised they would meet again exactly twenty years from that date and time. What happened later?(para.3) Have they kept in touch for 20 years? What was the man doing over the past 20 years ?
