Going green makes a big difference in our life. I’m Jessica Wong. Today I' ll tell you what my family does every day to save the earth. It's reported that a common family produces more than one ton of rubbish a year. Some of the waste takes hundreds of years to decay (腐烂). Also,it costs much money to buy new things to take the place of the things we throw away.

In order to protect the environment and save money,my family has recycled everything. We collect used things every day, such as paper, bottles and boxes, and put them into different bins. Then they are sent to a recycling center. Finally, they are treated and can be used again. Recycling will help reduce a lot of waste. Also, we use old clothes to make different kinds of bags. I especially like to use old jeans to make bags. These cute and useful bags are popular with young people. As a result, I open a small shop and set up a website to sell them online.
What's more, my parents and my brother often go to work by bike. If it rains, they’ ll take the bus. We’ re also going to grow our own vegetables, raise cows and keep hens and ducks. Soon, we’ ll be able to have eggs and milk for meals.

C 中考改编
Plains wanderers(领鹑) are small, rare birds that live in grasslands. Unlike most birds, female (雌 性 ) plains wanderers are larger and stronger than males. Females take the lead in protecting their nests and babies from animals like foxes, while males often sit on the eggs to keep them warm. These birds are hard to find because their feathers blend into the grass, making them look like part of the landscape. Sadly, their numbers have been dropping because people are taking over their grassland homes for farms and cities.
To save them, scientists are using AI. The key is the birds’ calls. Mother wanderers make soft sounds to talk to their chicks(雏鸟) and warn about danger. These calls are quiet and easy to miss, but AI can hear them clearly.Scientists put microphones in the grasslands to record sounds all day and night. Then they put these recordings into a computer program. The AI learns to tell the wanderers' calls from other noises, like the wind blowing or insects chirping. This helps scientists find where the mother birds are and how many chicks they have.
“AI helps us monitor these birds without bothering (打扰) them,” says Dr. Lee, who leads the project. “We can find the most important areas for them and work to protect those places.” Once, AI helped scientists find a hidden nest with three baby birds. Without AI, they might not have found it. Thanks to this technology, there is new hope for these rare birds, showing that AI can be a powerful tool in saving wildlife.

It might be strange to wear clothes made out of plastic bottles. But in fact, some clothing companies (公司) have already made clothes like these.
Alia Juma’ s clothing company showed its newest collection at a workshop in Shanghai. 18 kinds of clothes were made from recycled plastic bottles. “We realized that billions of water bottles are thrown into the ocean every year and they would take hundreds of years to break down.We should use them to do something meaningful to help the environment,” said Alia Juma, the company's designer.“5 bottles can make a shirt, 10 a dress, and 20 a short coat.”
Many other clothing companies are finding similar ways to save our planet these days. The process is rather simple. First, the plastic bottles are washed and cut into small pieces. And then they are melted and shaped into small balls. Next, the balls are melted again to form threads(线). People can then use the threads to make different kinds of clothes.
Some people may have doubts about wearing clothes made out of plastic bottles. But in fact, clothes made from plastic can be even better than those made from common materials. Plastic threads can be made into different textures (质感) such as cotton, silk, or even wool. It seems that this creative way may lead to a greener future for fashion.
( )66. Why does Juma's company make clothes out of plastic bottles?
A. To help improve the environment.
B. Plastic bottles are very fashionable.
