She is both an eater and a helper in the kitchen. She comes to the restaurant every day at about 10 am to help wash vegetables. Then she takes a break, has her own bowl of noodles and goes back home.

Passage 5(山东省德州市夏津县2024-2025学年七年级上学期期末 )
Do you know that some animals have a very special way to spend the winter? It’s really interesting.
Some animals sleep in winter because the weather gets very cold and it is difficult for them to find food. After they find a place out of danger, they can sleep for a long time. This kind of winter sleep is called “hibernation”.
Squirrels (松鼠) living in the northern area store (储存) a lot of nuts before winter comes and then hibernate. Frogs also hibernate. They eat enough food since summer. Before winter comes, they find a warm place under the mud or in a hole near water.
If an animal moves about a lot, it needs much food. Hibernating animals do not need to eat much because they are in a deep sleep and use little energy (能量). Their hearts beat very slowly and they also breathe slowly. Their body fat (脂肪) keeps them alive and warm.
Some animals, such as bears, may wake up from their hibernation on warm winter days and then quickly go back to sleep again when they see the snow is still thick (厚的) on the ground. When the weather becomes warmer in spring, they end their hibernation and start to look for food.
Animals’ hibernation is amazing in nature. We should protect these animals and their home. Maybe one day, we can learn more secrets about their hibernation and get along with them better.

I was really inspired by the eclipse this morning. In the afternoon, I spent hours reading about astronomers, eclipses, and how the planets move in our solar system. The universe is simply amazing! Sometimes children seem to have lots of energy (精力). When they go to school, they’re full of energy. After they get home from school they still want to play outside. However, most parents worry about that. Do your children play too much?
“In fact, many children in China don’t get enough exercise,” an expert (专家) named Feng Haitao says. “There are very few PE classes in schools. And the break (休息) time is often short. Children usually have no time to exercise after they get home because they have much homework.”
Many experts think that children should get about three hours of activities a day. Maybe this sounds a lot, but they don’t need to do it all at once. It’s a good idea to make children move around for a few minutes every hour.
Feng also says a 13-year-old child should do sports or games for no more than 12 hours a week. If a child doesn’t want to exercise or play, he might exercise too hard before. Children may also lose interest in these activities because of long-time practice.
So if parents want to keep their children’s bodies and minds healthy, they should encourage (鼓励) them to try different sports. And they should let them join in different activities.
