3、 单元语法
动词不定式作目的状语
动词不定式还可以在句中作目的状语,表示行为动作的目的。例如:
(1) The WWF is working hard to save all the animals. 世界自然基金会正在努力挽救所有的动物。
(2) She practises every day to improve her singing skills. 她每天都在练习, 以提高自己的歌唱技巧。
以上例句中,动词不定式都作目的状语,表示“做某事是为了什么”。例如句子 (2) 中,to improve her singing skills就是目的状语,表示practises every day的目的。
在作目的状语时,不定式既可以放在句首,也可以放在句尾。例如:
Dylan trained hard to improve his basketball skills. Dylan刻苦训练以提高自己的篮球技术。
也可以说:To improve his basketball skills, Dylan trained hard.
除了直接使用to do sth之外,我们还可以使用in order to do sth和so as to do sth来表示行为动作的目的。例如:
He’s saving money in order to buy a new computer. 为了买一台新电脑,他正在攒钱。
Linda started work early so as to finish it by five. Linda很早就开始工作,以便在五点前完成。
除了作目的状语之外,根据表达的需要,动词不定式还可以作原因状语和结果状语等。
四、单元写作
孟子曾说:“不以规矩,不能成方圆。”作为中学生,我们应该时刻遵守校规校纪。请以“Following the school rules”为题,用英语写一篇短文。词数90左右,文章开头和结尾已给出,不计人总词数。
内容包括:

As the saying goes,“Nothing can be done without norms or standards.” If students don't follow school rules(遵守校规), the school will be totally in a mess(一团糟). It’s important to follow the school rules.
However, many students think school rules are too strict. So they are always against school rules. For example(例如), they run in the hallway, cheat in exams and climb over the wall to escape from(从…逃脱)school. Many of them get hurt(受伤) or get into trouble(陷入困境). In my opinion(在我看来),we should keep the rules in mind(记住) and follow them. It's good both for building a better school and protecting our own safety.
All in all, nothing can be achieved without rules.
