Today it has become popular for women to wear the traditional qipao dress. Especially during the National College Entrance Examination also known as the “gaokao”, many mothers wear qipaos to wish their children good luck in the exam. This is because “qipao” is regarded as a symbol of the Chinese saying “qi kai de sheng”, meaning success.
Some people believe that the qipao can date back to gowns (长袍) worn by women in the Qing Dynasty. Influenced by Western culture, it slowly changed during the early 20th century, becoming much fitter and body-hugging (修身). After years of development, the qipao is now mainly divided into Beijing styles, Shanghai styles and Hong Kong styles. There are many differences in color and design among them.
The Beijing-style qipao is more traditional than Shanghai-style and Hong Kong-style qipaos. The colors of Beijing-style qipaos are much brighter. High-quality Beijing-style qipaos are usually made by hand, so the price is much higher.
Compared with Beijing-style qipaos, Shanghai-style ones are more modern. More Western styles are used in the designs (设计) and colors. Shanghai-style qipaos became the most popular qipao style around the 1930s because of the modern design and shape. Now, most women still choose Shanghai-style qipaos first.
Hong Kong-style qipaos have been greatly influenced by European styles They have shorter sleeves (袖子) than the other two styles. The designs are also simpler.
The qipao is a special product that not only shows the beauty of traditional Chinese culture, but also the beauty of other cultures.
21. Lots of mothers wear qipao to wish their kids have good grades in the gaokao.
22. Qipao wasn’t changed during the early 20th century.
23. The Beijing-style qipaos are the most traditional of the three ones.
24. Shanghai-style qipaos are chosen first by most women because of their shorter sleeves.
25. This passage mainly talks about the popularity of qipao and its different styles in China.

Inventions have always made our daily lives convenient, happy, and even magical, especially for young students. Imagine a world without them—it would be like living in a black-and-white movie.
My favorite invention is the smartphone. It’s like a tiny computer in my bag, allowing me to connect with friends, take pictures, and even learn new things. Remember the days when we had to wait for a letter to arrive from a friend? Now, with a simple tap (轻敲), we can send a message or make a video call to them at once.
Another amazing invention is the electric car. It runs on electricity and keeps our air clean. Imagine driving a car that doesn’t make any noise and only needs electricity. It’s like driving the future.
The printer is also a fascinating invention. It can turn digital (数码的) pictures and text into real copies. Whether it’s a school project or a family photo, the printer can let us keep something special in our hands.
But inventions don’t just happen overnight. They take time, creative ideas, and hard work. Many people have ideas, but it’s the ones who keep trying that can realize their dreams. So, who knows? Maybe one day, one of us could be the next great inventor, changing the world with a simple but great idea.
36. How does the writer describe a world without inventions?
A. It would be full of excitement and risks.
B. It would be like living in a colorful movie.
C. It would be like living in a black-and-white movie.
D. It would be convenient happy and even magical.
37. What is the writer’s favorite invention?
A. The electric car. B. The smartphone. C. The printer. D. None of the above.
38. What does the electric car help with?
A. Keeping the air clean. B. Making traffic uncrowded.
C. Increasing speed. D. Making more noise.
39. What does the writer think of inventions?
A. It’s easy to invent them. B. Anyone can invent them.
C. They can happen overnight. D. They need hard work and creativity.
40. What is the best title for this passage?
A. The History of Invention. B. The Skills of Invention.
C. The Wonders (奇迹) of Invention. D. The Process of Invention.

As teenagers, we often talk about “freedom (自由)”—choosing friends, managing time, or following hobbies. But true freedom isn’t doing whatever you want. It’s making responsible (负责任的) choices that respect yourself and others. How can we enjoy freedom while staying on the right way? ___41___
◆Understand the people who care about you.
Instead of arguing with parents about “being controlled (控制)”, try to understand them. They care about your safety and future. When they ask about your after-school plans, it’s to make sure you’re safe. Understanding their love helps you get more trust—and more freedom.
◆___42___
Freedom means matching your wants with tasks. You can play basketball, but don’t let it stop you from finishing homework. You can hang out with friends on weekends, but do your chores first. When you deal with your small jobs well, adults will give you more freedom.
◆Don’t be afraid to speak out your mistakes.
Making mistakes is a part of growing up. If you make a wrong choice—like missing homework to play games—don’t hide it. You must be honest with your parents and teachers. ___43___ Being honest builds trust, which is key to more freedom.
◆Think about the results of your choices.
___44___ Is this safe? Will it hurt anyone? For example, staying out late without telling parents makes them worry. Thinking about your actions helps you make wise choices.
◆Tell your needs and listen to others
If you want more freedom—like choosing after-school classes—talk to parents calmly (冷静地). Explain your reasons and listen to their ideas. ___45___
Freedom isn’t easy to get. It will come through responsibility, honesty, and communication. When you balance (平衡) your wants with what’s right, you’ll enjoy true freedom that helps you grow.
A. Match your freedom with jobs.
B. Here are some things you can do.
C. They’ll help you solve it and learn a lesson.
D. Argue with your parents when you are angry.

第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分)
根据短文内容,判断正误(正确“T”,错误“F”),并将所选答案涂到答题卡的相应位置上。
Today it has become popular for women to wear the traditional qipao dress. Especially during the National College Entrance Examination, also known as the “gaokao”, many mothers wear qipaos to wish their children good luck in the exam. This is because “qipao” is regarded as a symbol of the Chinese saying “qi kai de sheng”, meaning success.
Some people believe that the qipao can date back to gowns (长袍) worn by women in the Qing Dynasty. Influenced by Western culture, it slowly changed during the early 20th century, becoming much fitter and body-hugging (修身的).
Hong Kong-style qipaos have been greatly influenced by European styles. They have shorter sleeves (袖子) than the other two styles.

She and her friends, along with people from different parts of China, decided to watch the show from an open playground.
Li said, “I had never seen anything like these fireworks before. The evening was amazing. More importantly, everyone in the large crowd was ready to celebrate.” She said that the fireworks were like stars shining in the night sky
Wang Biao, head of Sky Theatre, said the show was live on short video platforms (平台) with more than 600 million people watching too. The theatre is along the side of Liuyang River, with the stage (舞台) for the show set against mountains.
Zhao Xin, who also works at the theater, said they had to be prepared well for the fireworks shows to make sure that they are eye-catching. “Almost 80 percent of audiences (观众) at the theater are younger than 50, and most of them are either in the 21-30 age, or married couples aged 31 to 40, who also bring their children or parents to watch the shows.” he said. Zhao also said that the fireworks show is a good activity to connect people with one another.
“We want more young people to fall in love with fireworks and the public can enjoy them more often,” Wang Biao said. “It does not have to be a special situation or celebration to mark a festival. You can set fireworks off after you finish work, while always paying attention to the safety of yourself and people around you,” Wang also said.
