Earlier this May,my friend David and I spent two unforgettable weeks diving in
Tulamben on the island of Bali in Indonesia. As underwater photographers,we were eager to
explore the diving sites around the Alam Batu Beach Resort there. We were impressed by the
resort's peaceful welcoming atmosphere. The diving kicked off strong with four dives and this
region of Bali delivered everything a diver dreams of photographing.
But then...disaster struck. On the first dive of the second day,I accidentally flooded my
new Canon R7 camera,a huge mistake caused by a lapse in focus during the setup of it.It
didn't matter how many other photographers tried to comfort me with comments like,
"eventually it happens to the best of us..."I was still upset. It felt like the end of my trip.I
was unable to eat, dive,or think straight. For any underwater photographer, losing a camera
on location is the worst thing.
【高三英语第3页(共8页)】
However, the story didn't end there. Thanks to the incredibly supportive team at Alam
Batu, especially our dive guide Susan,I was able to purchase an Olympus TG-7 locally,a
simple but capable camera.By day four,I was back in the water.Over the next two weeks we
had some amazing encounters,especially at night:octopus,sea snakes,cuttlefish,and even a
tiny pygmy squid that danced in the light on our final night.
Four dives per day built up a healthy appetite and the food at Alam Batu was exceptional.
They offered a varied menu featuring healthy and delicious selections that appealed to a wide
variety of tastes. The other guests, who came and went from all over the world, were a joy to
meet too-each with their own stories, and all understanding the heartbreak of a flooded camera.
This trip turned into one of the most meaningful diving experiences of our lives.Yes,
there was a hard lesson learned about the importance of focus when working with professional
camera. But more than that,it strengthened how every challenge underwater can lead to
growth and gratitude.
24.What was the author's initial purpose of going to Tulamben?
A.To enjoy the resort's facilities.
B.To learn advanced diving skills
C.To photograph underwater creatures.
D.To make friends with other photographers.
25.What does the underlined word "lapse"in Paragraph 2 mean?
A.Loss.
B.Rise.
C.Moment.
D.Technique.
26.How did the author feel immediately after the camera accident?
A.Grateful for others'comfort.
B.Determined to fix the camera.
C.Too upset to continue diving.
D.Excited to try a new camera.
27.What is the main lesson the author learned from this experience?
A.Professional cameras are unreliable.
B.Local guides are essential for diving.
C.Night diving produces better photos.
D.Challenges can lead to personal growth.
C
At the time of writing this, more than 600 people have gone to space. The first person to
do it was the Soviet astronaut Yuri Gagarin,in 1961.Most of the people that have achieved
the dream of flying to outer space have been astronauts that form part of space agencies such
as NASA although a few have gone as part of space tourism trips.
But space exploration can be a risky profession. We have all heard about unfortunate
accidents like that of the Apollo 1 training crew or the Space Shuttle Challenger. To date,
there have been 188 accidents related to space flights.Fortunately, the number of accidents
has greatly been reduced since the 1980s as space agencies have gotten better at conducting
safety protocols(协议).
With all those incidents,it is natural to wonder if at some point any astronauts have been
lost in space. Are there any dead bodies in space? The short answer is no.There are no dead
bodies in space. Most of the spaceflight-related accidents have happened on land or before
reaching the line that we consider space. This limit is called the Karman line and is 100
kilometres (62 miles)above sea level.
There have been a few cases of spacecraft that have been "lost in space".For example,
the Apollo 10 released the descent()module while they were orbiting the Moon. The
module did not have any astronauts inside and was "lost"although it was released in such a
way that it would go into orbit around the Sun.The module was located in 2019 using a
telescope. As for other types of accidents, there have been cases of satellites that have collided
()or been hit by something. But those are unmanned and they usually fall into Earth and
are disintegrated from the heat as they enter the atmosphere.
In short, there are no human bodies lost in space. Most spaceflight-related accidents that
involved people have happened while still on Earth.

29.What has reduced the number of space flight-related accidents?
A.More advanced technology.

31.Which of the following can be a suitable title for the text?

Electric cars have been gaining popularity in recent years, and for good reason. Not only
are they cost-effective in the long run,but they also offer many benefits for the environment.
Here are three reasons why electric cars are great for the planet.
One of the biggest advantages of electric cars is that they produce zero emissions().
Unlike gasoline cars that emit harmful pollutants into the air, electric cars are powered by
electricity that is generated from renewable sources such as wind or solar power. This means
that when you drive an electric car, you're not only saving money on gas,but you're also
helping to improve air quality.
Electric cars also save more energy than gasoline cars. When you drive a gasoline car,
only about 20%of the energy made by the fuel is actually used to move the car forward. The
rest of the energy is lost to heat and other things.Electric cars,on the other hand, convert
(almost 100%of the energy stored in the battery into motion. This means that electric
cars can travel further on the same amount of energy, which is great news for the
environment.
Another benefit of electric cars is that they reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.
Gasoline cars are powered by gasoline, which is a non-renewable resource that is taken from
the earth. As we continue to use gasoline,we're using the earth's natural resources and
contributing to climate change.By driving electric cars,we can reduce our need for gasoline
and move towards renewable sources of energy.
In conclusion, electric cars offer many benefits for the environment, including zero
emissions, energy efficiency, and reduced need on fossil fuels. As more people make the
switch to electric cars,we can help to create a cleaner and more sustainable future for
ourselves and for future generations.
32.What's an advantage of electric cars from the text?
A.They are costly.
B.They run faster.
C.They are eco-friendly.
D.They use less energy.
33.Where does most of the energy in gasoline cars end up in?
A.The motion to move a car.
B.The heat and other things.
C.The storage to travel further.
D.The money saved to buy a new car.
【高三英语第5页(共8页)】
34.What can be known about the impact of gasoline cars?
A.They help to clean the air.
B.They give out harmful gases.
C.They consume fuel completely.
D.They have a prornising future.
35.What may the follow-up paragraph focus on?
A.The future of the next generation.
B.The skills for the young to drive a car.
C.The development of green economy.
D.The way to produce more electric cars.

With graduation just around the corner,I knew I wanted to do something truly special for
my classmates at Notre Dame Academy.I had always been passionate about art,and that
passion led me to a "crazy"idea.I decided to paint pictures of all 110 of my classmates and
surprise them with the paintings during my graduation speech.I was the representative for
our class of 2025,and I thought it would be a great way to leave a lasting memory.
I was both excited and nervous. And I set out to make it happen.First,I needed to get
approval from the school's teachers and staff. To my joy, they all supported my idea. With
their blessing,I went to Principal()Meaghan O'Brien's office to explain my plan. She
was excited and gave me the green light.Next,I approached Laura Bauer, the head of the
yearbook,to get the yearbook photos of my classmates. Then,I went to Joe Barral, the head
of the art department,to ask for supplies. He was more than happy to help and even gave me
some extra materials.
The hardest part was keeping the secret.I had to come up with excuses to slip away from
my friends.I would tell them I was going to the bathroom, but instead,I would head to
Principal O'Brien's office or the art room.Even my best friend since kindergarten,Kayleigh
Fitzpatrick, had no idea what I was up to.
After months of hard work and careful planning, graduation day finally arrived on June
6.I had completed all the pictures just two days before the big event. As I walked up to the
stage,I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness.I took a deep breath and began my speech.
"Look under your seats!"I said, asking everyone to look under their chairs for a little
something made just for them.Slowly,I heard gasps (of amazement from my

第一节
One possible version:
Dear Bob,
I am glad to hear the news of the upcoming addition of Special English. This not only increases the
opportunities for our students to practice English listening, but also enriches our campus cultural atmosphere.
Given the limited time,I think the content should not only be novel but also short, including campus news,
student interviews,English knowledge and other forms. At the same time,we should constantly listen to the
opinions of our schoolmates and stimulate their enthusiasm for learning English.
I believe that under your guidance, this program will become better and better.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节
One possible version:
Everyone rose from their seats and started clapping. The sound was like waves crashing against the shore,
filling the room with excitement and joy.I saw smiles on everyone's faces as they held up the pictures, some
even wiping away tears. It was a moment I had dreamed of,but seeing it come to life was even more magical.I
continued my speech, feeling my heart filled with pride."These pictures are a reminder of the time we've shared
and the memories we've made,"I said."No matter where life takes us,we'll always have this moment and each
other.”
Since that day,my phone has been ringing non-stop with messages from my classmates. They thanked me
over and over, sharing how much the gesture meant to them.It was incredible to see how a simple idea had
brought us all closer.Kayleigh even sent me a heartfelt message, saying she was proud of me and that the
surprise was the best gift she could have ever received.I realized that art has the power to connect people and
create lasting bonds. It was a lesson I would carry with me forever, and a memory that would never fade.
