技巧:常伴随转折逻辑词出现,如but, however, while, unlike。 例:上文出现apple, banana(下义),空处可能填入fruit(上义)。 表概况归纳关系有:in short , in brief , in summary ,generally speaking ,in general , to conclude ,in conclusion, in a word ,on the whole , to sum up 等。 阅读七选五常见的语篇结构如下: 例1 “总—分”结构 (2024·新高考Ⅰ卷)Not all great writers are great spellers. If you want to be published, it's vital to submit a perfect, professionally presented manuscript (原稿).__36__ No editor is likely to tolerate a writer who does not take the trouble to spell words correctly. I keep two reference books close-by on my desk: dictionary and thesaurus (同义词词典).I don't trust my laptop's spellchecker.__37__ Of course, these days there are plenty of online dictionaries and thesauruses, but I'm old-fashioned enough to prefer a hard cover and pages I can leaf through with my fingers.I use the Concise Oxford Dictionary and the Collins Thesaurus. __38__ It should give you a precise definition of each word, thus differentiating it from other words whose meanings are similar, but not identical. It will also usually show how the word is pronounced. In addition, I have an old two-volume copy of the Shorter Oxford Dictionary, picked up a few years ago in a bookshop sale for just 99 pence.Of course, with its 2,672 pages, it's not exactly short. It contains around 163,000 words, plus word combinations and idiomatic phrases.__39__ However, if I need to check the origin of a word or to look up examples of its usage, there's nothing better. For well over a hundred years the most influential English dictionary was Samuel Johnson's Dictionary of the English Language published in 1755.“To make dictionaries is dull (乏味) work,” wrote Johnson, illustrating one definition of “dull”.__40__ A few minutes spent casting your eye over a page or two can be a rewarding experience. A.I don't often use this dictionary. B.It takes no account of the context. C.But I still don't want to replace them. D.But a dictionary can be a pleasure to read. E.Of course, a dictionary is not only for spelling. F.That means good grammar and no spelling mistakes. G.Dictionaries don't always give you enough information. [参考答案] 36~40 FBEAD 例2 “总—分—总”结构 (2023·新高考Ⅱ卷)As an artist who shares her journey on social media, I'm often asked by curious followers how to begin an art journey.Unfortunately, there is no magic list I can offer.I do remember, though, what it was like to be a complete beginner. So I've put together some good tips for starting an art journey. ·Start small.I suggest using a sketchbook (素描本) for small studies. These small studies provide inspiration and may be a springboard for more complex works in the future.__36__ You'll want to look back on your journey to see how far you've come. ·Paint often and paint from life. There's no better way to improve than to put in those brush miles.Whether you paint still lives, portraits, or landscapes, paint from life as much as possible.__37__ ·Continually challenge yourself to try something new.__38__ Artistic growth can be a bit painful.Welcome to the club; we've all been there.I love taking on challenges.I once took up a challenge to create a painting every day for a month and post the works online. ·__39__ Seeking and accepting constructive feedback (反馈) is crucial to growth.I post my work on social media and, in turn, have met some of the kindest people. They make me feel valued and respected, no matter my level of artistic ability. The journey you're on won't follow a straight path.__40__ Push through, give it time and put in the effort. You will harvest the rewards of an artistic life. A.Get out of your comfort zone. B.Make career plans and set goals. C.Don't throw away your beginner art. D.Share your work if you feel comfortable doing so. E.You'll hit roadblocks, and you'll feel discouraged at times. F.Evaluate your performance and, if needed, redefine your role. G.You'll develop that painting muscle memory that only comes with repetition. 根据本段中的“Seeking and accepting constructive feedback (反馈) is crucial ...They make me feel valued and respected”可知,本段讲到了可以利用社交媒体寻求建设性的反馈以及这样做的好处,故D项“如果这样做让你觉得舒服,请分享你的作品”适合作本段的主题句。 40. (一)根据并列关系确定答案 掌握特点 前后两句是逻辑上的并列关系 技巧运用 寻找表示并列关系的词,如:and, or, first(ly), second(ly) ...; first, then/next ...; in the first place, in the second place ...; for one thing, for another ...; to begin with, to conclude等标志性词语 例1 (2022·新高考Ⅰ卷·节选) So, how do you find a workout partner? First of all, decide what you want from that person.__37__ Or do you just want to be physically fit, able to move with strength and flexibility?Think about the exercises you would like to do with your workout partner. A.Your first meeting may be a little awkward. B.A workout partner usually needs to live close by. C.You'll work harder if you train with someone else. D.Do you want to be a better athlete in your favorite sport? E.How can you write a good “seeking a training partner” notice? 根据空后句子“Or do you just want to be physically fit ...?” (二)根据递进关系确定答案 掌握特点 后面的句子是对前面内容的进一步解释说明,即后句与前句构成顺承关系 技巧运用 空格前后两句之间如果是逻辑上的顺承关系,则空格处很有可能是个表示递进的句子 寻找标志词 also; further; furthermore; likewise; similarly; moreover; in addition; what's more; too; either; neither; in particular; not only ... but also ... When you're riding on trains, you won't be provided with a blanket for free, even if your trip is an overnight one.__38__ In the summer in particular, the air conditioning can make them quite cold. A.Train trips aren't for impatient types. B.You'll have views from both sides of the train. C.The temperature on rail cars is often hard to control. D.That's particularly true during busy summer months. E.You might have to wait longer than 24 hours to catch the next one. (三)根据转折关系确定答案 掌握特点 文中后句与前句构成逆转关系 技巧运用 空格前后两句之间如果是逻辑上的逆转关系,则空格处很有可能是个表示转折关系的句子 寻找标志词 but; however/whereas; nevertheless; still; though; yet; in spite of; on the contrary; in contrast; by contrast; by comparison; otherwise; not ... but ...等 例3 (2024·新高考Ⅰ卷·节选) In addition, I have an old two-volume copy of the Shorter Oxford Dictionary, picked up a few years ago in a bookshop sale for just 99 pence. Of course, with its 2,672 pages, it's not exactly short. It contains around 163,000 words, plus word combinations and idiomatic phrases. __39__ However, if I need to check the origin of a word or to look up examples of its usage, there's nothing better. A.I don't often use this dictionary. B.It takes no account of the context. C.But I still don't want to replace them. D.But a dictionary can be a pleasure to read. E.Of course, a dictionary is not only for spelling. (四)根据总分关系确定答案 掌握特点 “总”是指总体概括;“分”是指内容的具体展开 技巧运用 分析前后关系,厘清是“总分”“分总”,还是“总分总” [例4] The friends who introduced me to camping thought that it meant to be a pioneer.__37__ We slept in a tent, cooked over an open fire, and walked a long distance to take the shower and use the bathroom. This brief visit with Mother Nature cost me two days off from work, recovering from a bad case of sunburn and the doctor's bill for my son's food poisoning. C.The trip they took me on was a rough one. F.After the trip, my family became quite interested in camping. If you want to be published, it's vital to submit a perfect, professionally presented manuscript (原稿).__36__ No editor is likely to tolerate a writer who does not take the trouble to spell words correctly. D.But a dictionary can be a pleasure to read. E.Of course, a dictionary is not only for spelling. F.That means good grammar and no spelling mistakes. G.Dictionaries don't always give you enough information. (六)根据例证关系确定答案 掌握特点 思维上的形象(例子、类比等)和抽象(观点)的辩证关系 技巧运用 判断是先给例子,再归纳观点;还是先给出观点,再举例说明 例6 (2023·全国甲卷·节选) ·Make yourself wait Instant gratification (满足) may seem like the most “feel good” option at the time, but psychology research suggests waiting for things actually makes us happier in the long run. And the only way for us to get into the habit of waiting is to practice. __38__. Put off watching your favorite show until the weekend or wait 10 extra minutes before going for that cake. You'll soon find that the more patience you practice, the more you start to apply it to other, more annoying situations. A.Find your causes B.Start with small tasks C.Accept the uncomfortable D.All this adds up to a state of hurry E.It can also help us practice more patience 【解析】根据空前的“the only way ... to practice”可知,空处讲到的应该是如何练习;结合空后的“Put off watching ... for that cake.” 等 例7 (2022·新高考Ⅱ卷·节选) The third technique is to try printing out a triple-spaced (三倍行距) copy to allow space for revision.__39__ As a result, these writers never get in the habit of crossing out chunks (大块) of their draft and writing revisions in the blank space. After you have revised your draft until it is too messy to work from anymore, you can enter your changes into your word processor. 40.Then_you_can_print_out_a_fresh_draft,again_setting_your_text_on_triple-space. The resulting blank space invites you to revise. C.The second draft of the essay should be better. D.First of all, learn the technique of nonstop writing. E.Too many writers try to get their drafts right the first time. F.Many beginning writers don't leave enough space to revise. G.Then you can print out a fresh draft, again setting your text on triple-space. Overvisited destinations ... ·Get creative. The best way ...Why not try a regional alternative or check out a popular destination's lesser-known sights? ·__39__ Minimize impact and maximize experience by skipping major holidays or rush hour. You'll compete with fewer tourists, save money, experience a different side of a popular place, and boost the economy when tourism is traditionally slower. A.Visit during off-peak times. B.So, should we stop traveling? C.Travel for you and no one else. D.Can overtourism be avoided then? E.You can still find relatively undiscovered places. F.You'll find yourself virtually alone, or close to it. G.Consider giving back to the communities you're visiting. 故选A。 方法2 根据一致,确定段落主题句 例2 (2022·新高考Ⅱ卷·节选) Writing an essay is a difficult process for most people. However, the process can be made easier if you learn to practice three simple techniques. __36__ When you are first trying to think of ideas for an essay, put your pen to your paper and write nonstop for ten or fifteen minutes without letting your pen leave the paper. Stay loose and free. 37.Let_your_pen_follow_the_waves_of_thought. Don't worry about grammar or spelling. Even though this technique won't work for everyone, it helps many people get a good store of ideas to draw on. The next technique is to write your draft rapidly without worrying about being perfect ... The third technique is to try printing out a triple-spaced (三倍行距) copy to allow space for revision ... C.The second draft of the essay should be better. D.First of all, learn the technique of nonstop writing. 由空后的“When you are first trying ... leave the paper.” “First of all”是关键词。 2.段落过渡句——“瞻前顾后”看顺承 例3 (2020·全国卷Ⅲ·节选) 37.It_is_traditional_to_bring_a_gift_to_a_housewarming_party. Some people register a list of things they want or need for their new home at a local store or stores. Some common things people will put on a gift registry include kitchen tools like knives and things like curtains.Even if there isn't a registry, a good housewarming gift is something to decorate the new house with, like a piece of art or a plant. __38__ This is often appreciated since at a housewarming there isn't a lot of food served. There are usually no planned activities like games at a housewarming party. The host or hostess of the party will, however, probably give all the guests a tour of their new home.Sometimes, because a housewarming party happens shortly after a person moves into their new home, people may be asked to help unpack boxes. 39.This_isn't_usual_though. C.You can also bring food or drinks to share with the other guests. F.The best housewarming parties encourage old friends to get together. 根据设空处后面的句子“This is often appreciated since at a housewarming there isn't a lot of food served.” Overvisited destinations are that way for a reason: they're special. With so many online posts featuring the same places, it's easy to feel like you're missing out.Go somewhere only when the landscape, culture or food deeply draws you.__37__ A.Visit during off-peak times. B.So, should we stop traveling? C.Travel for you and no one else. D.Can overtourism be avoided then? E.You can still find relatively undiscovered places. F.You'll find yourself virtually alone, or close to it. G.Consider giving back to the communities you're visiting. 认真阅读下一段开头几句,看有没有选项能与之紧密衔接起来 例5 (2022·浙江1月高考·节选) I have the same 24 hours in a day as you do, but I have made specific choices that allow me to make the most of every day, and still feel happy and relaxed.__31__ ·Pick the most important. 32.Make_choices_about_what_is_meaningful_in_your_life. Focus on spending time that for you is fun and productive.I chose the life of an adviser because I like to work with companies, but don't want the life of a big company CEO.My choices are based on the lifestyle I want. ·Combine your activities. ... ·Lighten up. E.The things you do well usually give you greater joy. F.Perhaps these tips will help you make the most of your time. G.This is why making lists is important in any productivity handbook. 3.“补充信息句”的思维趋向 掌握特点 顺承前文,对其内容补充完善 技巧运用 选择与前文语意相关的选项 例6 (2022·全国甲卷·节选) Chopstick Rules The way you handle chopsticks is important to avoid annoying your companions. When you put them down between bites, always put them down together so they are parallel with the edge of the table in front of you.__37__. C.Mexicans consider it inappropriate to eat with utensils D.Don't get caught making an embarrassing mistake at a restaurant E.It's a good sign for the chef if you make a mess around your plate F.Never stick them upright in your food or cross them as you use them G.It may seem like a simple request to ask for salt and pepper at a meal 【解析】根据小标题Chopstick Rules和设空处上文可知,本段讲的是筷子的使用礼仪。 The thing is, it's true. __40__ We're all changing and learning all the time and mistakes are a positive way to develop and grow. D.It's just as important to show yourself some forgiveness. E.It doesn't mean you have to ignore what's happened or forget it. F.Whatever it is, no matter how small it might seem, write it down. G.Whatever the mistake, remember it isn't a fixed aspect of your personality. 类型(二) 代词复现法 掌握特点 为了避免与上文提到的名词重复,常用不同的代词指代上文提到的人、事物或事件 技巧运用 ①注意空格前后出现的代词,并确定其意义;②结合指代意义和单复数形式解题 例2 (2024·浙江1月高考·节选) The tip that comes up most often is simple: build online courses into your weekly schedule, just like what you would do with in-person courses. __39__ He noted that his online students usually end up with lower grades. It is so easy to let an online course slide, but your grades will suffer as a result. Be sure to schedule set times to watch your lectures, read materials and contribute to online discussion boards. A.But that doesn't mean there aren't deadlines. B.Your motivation should be your main concern. C.Do you know that online courses are also part of your education? D.Professor Alex Davidson teaches the same course in person and online. E.The chief complaint about online courses is that they lack human interaction. F.If you take an online course, what can you do to ensure the best possible grade? G.A survey found that 29 percent of college students registered for online courses. If you're faced with an awkward silence at a dinner party, the only thing that always gets everyone talking again is to give the host a compliment (赞扬). __40__. Just quickly turn around and say, “This cake is extremely delicious and you have to tell me all about it.” So being interesting at a dinner party isn't that hard. E.Or turn the conversation into a topic where they have little to say G.He or she is the person who is feeling the weight of that awkwardness the most 根据空前的“the only thing that always gets everyone talking again is to give the host a compliment”可知,解决办法是赞扬晚宴的主人,G项“他或她是最能感受到这种尴尬的人”符合语境。 类型(四) 同义(反义)复现法 掌握特点 指上下文中意义相同(相反)的词、词组或同义(反义)句子 技巧运用 结合空处前后内容及各选项寻找同义(反义)词的复现 例4 (2021·浙江1月高考·节选) If there are three lines in the store, delays will happen randomly at different registers. Think about the probability: __33__ So it's not just in your mind: Another line probably is moving faster. A.Why does this always seem to happen to you? B.So why don't most places encourage serpentine lines? C.Some of them may have stood in a queue for almost an hour. D.The chances of your line being the fastest are only one in three. E.How high is the probability that you are in the fastest waiting line? F.With three registers, this method is much faster than the traditional approach. G.But sometimes, as on a Sunday afternoon, the system gets particularly busy. 例1 (2022·全国乙卷·节选) ·Practise empathy (共情) 38.You_may_be_the_friend_who_left_or_the_one_who_was_left_behind.The friend who is remaining needs to be sensitive to all the additional time demands placed on the friend who has moved. The one in the new environment should be sympathetic to the fact that your friend may feel abandoned. ·__39__ Anniversaries and birthdays carry even more weight in long-distance friendships. Although technology might make day-to-day communication possible, extra effort goes a long way on special days.Simply keeping a diary that keeps track of friends' birthdays and other important dates will make sure nothing slips by you. A.Remember important dates B.Compensate by writing letters 【解析】本题考查段落小标题。 下文“Anniversaries and birthdays carry even more weight in long-distance friendships.” 例2 (2021·全国甲卷·节选) A successful swap depends on the selection of clothes, the organization of the event, and, obviously, how much fun is had. It's really easy to do! Here are a few pointers. ·Invite 5-10 people so you have a nice selection. 37.Less_people_than_that,_and there may not be enough things to choose from; more than that, and it becomes uncontrollable. ·__38__.They should also prepare plenty of reusable bags to carry their “new” clothes home. ·Put different types of clothing on different surfaces in the room ... ·Set a starting time.Maybe you say “go”, or turn on a certain song, or whatever ... B.Hold a clothing swap D.Just keep music playing throughout E.Donate whatever clothes are left over F.Have everyone put their clothes in the right spots G.Tell everyone to bring clean clothes in good condition 【解析】本题考查段落主旨句。由于每段前都有实心圆点,因此可以初步判断每段的首句都是主旨句,并且都是祈使句,故38题的选择范围锁定在B、D、E、F和G项;根据下文“They should also prepare plenty of reusable bags to carry their ‘new’ clothes home.” 例3(2020·全国卷Ⅱ·节选) Written communications can often read as cold and dull. Using emojis can add humor and feeling, keeping intention clear.__37__, encouraging better and more frequent communication. A.Messages with emojis feel more conversational F.Studies show that friendlier communication leads to a happier workplace 【解析】本题要求考生根据后面的逗号以及作结果状语的现在分词短语来补全句子的主干部分。 例1 (2021·全国乙卷·节选) People love to talk about themselves. If you can start the conversation with a question other than “What do you do for a living?”, you'll be able to get a lot more interesting conversation out of whomever it is you're talking to. __37__, it can bring in “I have this old, broken-down vehicle” or “I rode the bus with these crazy people who were laughing at silly jokes in the back.” It just opens up conversation. C.If you ask the question “How did you get here?” E.Or turn the conversation into a topic where they have little to say 【解析】根据空后的逗号及其后的句子可推知,此空应该填入一个从句;再根据“‘I have this old, broken-down vehicle’ or ‘I rode the bus with these crazy people who were laughing at silly jokes in the back.’” 例2 (2023·全国乙卷·节选) What are indoor plants? Indoor plants, also known as houseplants or pot plants, are plants that like to grow indoors. Many of these species (物种) are not ideally suited to growing outside in the UK, especially in the winter. __37__. C.There are many benefits to growing plants indoors D.Instead, they grow better inside, where it is warmer E.Plants like peace lilies and devil's ivy are among the best 【解析】上文说在英国,许多这样的物种不适宜在室外生长,特别是在冬季,和D项“相反,它们在室内更温暖的地方长势更好”构成转折关系。故选D。 3. 例3 ·Recall (回忆) your childhood memories Our model of what a garden should be often goes back to childhood. Grandma's rose garden and Dad's vegetable garden might be good or bad, but that's not what's important.__39__ — how being in those gardens made us feel. If you'd like to build a powerful bond with your garden, start by taking some time to recall the gardens of your youth.40.For_each_of_those_gardens,_write_down_the_strongest_memory_you_have. Then go outside and work out a plan to translate your childhood memories into your grown-up garden. Have fun. C.It's our experience of the garden that matters D.It's delightful to see so many beautiful flowers 【解析】根据空前的“but that's not what's important”可知,空处应讲什么重要;再根据破折号后面的内容“how being in those gardens made us feel”可知,下文是对空处的解释说明。 If you can't take their wine away, you should certainly try to take away their soapbox (讲台). If you're the host, you can ask them to help you in the kitchen with something and just remove them from the situation. 39.Or_turn_the_conversation_into_a_topic_where_they_ have_little_to_say. A.How do you know the host F.What about that person who has had too much to drink or won't stop talking 【解析】根据空后的问号可知,此空应该填入一个问句,选项中只有A和F是问句;再根据空后“If you can't take their wine away”中的“wine”可知,F选项中的“has had too much to drink”与之属于同一范畴的表达,因此F项“对于喝多了或者不停说话的人该怎么办”符合语境。 (一) Steps to Create a New Page in Your Life If you could talk to your younger self again, what would you tell them? For me, the best advice would be to be stronger, because life is only going to get harder. I had many problems in the past but I’ve changed for the better. So, turning your life around can be easy if you truly believe in yourself. 1 Now, turn the pages of your own life and move on from every struggle. Draw A Line Mentally Life will throw many problems your way, and you need to be mentally prepared for them. However, you might find yourself stuck in the same bad situations. 2 This line will help you mark your future decisions. Everything before it was part of the problem; everything after will be part of the solution. The secret over here is to never stop trying. 3 Many of us make a common mistake: we try to handle everything alone. In order to get out of this situation, you must be willing to talk with others — people you are close to, like family or friends. Make sure that the communication is actually beneficial in some way. When you start learning and depending on others, you notice the different patterns that made them successful. Let Go Of Your Past To move on, you must let go of the past, guilt, and resentment (怨恨). Bad feelings will only make you tired physically and mentally. You should forgive (原谅) those who hurt you and start anew. I have learned something important from my experience — it’s easy to forgive others but hard to forgive ourselves. We must do so to begin the next chapter. 4 Do What Actually Works In order to get out of a difficult situation, you have to do what works right? Well, most people get busy doing the things that don’t get them anywhere. For example, many people turn to alcohol or smoking to reduce the stress, which just kills them slowly. Live in reality to make wise choices for yourself. 5 Yes, actively and always engaging in battles and struggles is going to be very hard, but being stuck in pain and self-resentment will be even harder. A.Learn From Others. B.Handle everything alone. C.So you need to draw a mental line. D.Everyone makes mistakes — it’s what makes us humans. E.After all, you only have yourself to depend on in this world. F.The most important thing you need to do is look at the future. G.Don’t follow the path to anger and destroy what is good for you. 1.根据上文“So, turning your life around can be easy if you truly believe in yourself.(所以,如果你真的相信自己,改变生活其实很容易)”以及下文“Now, turn the pages of your own life and move on from every struggle.(现在,翻开你自己的人生新篇章,从每一次困境中前行)”可知,此处需衔接“相信自己能改变生活”和“开启人生新篇章”,起到承上启下的作用。 2.根据上文“However, you might find yourself stuck in the same bad situations.(然而,你可能会发现自己陷入了同样的糟糕境地)”以及下文“This line will help you mark your future decisions.(这条线将帮助你为未来的决定做好标记)”可知,上文提出陷入重复困境的问题,下文出现关键指代this line,空处需明确“线”的相关内容。 3.根据下文“Many of us make a common mistake: we try to handle everything alone. In order to get out of this situation, you must be willing to talk with others — people you are close to, like family or friends. Make sure that the communication is actually beneficial in some way. When you start learning and depending on others, you notice the different patterns that made them successful.(我们很多人都犯了一个常见的错误:我们试图独自处理所有事情。 故选A项。 4.根据上文“it’s easy to forgive others but hard to forgive ourselves. We must do so to begin the next chapter.(原谅他人容易,原谅自己却很难。 5.根据上文“Live in reality to make wise choices for yourself.(活在现实中,为自己做出明智的选择)”以及下文“Yes, actively and always engaging in battles and struggles is going to be very hard, but being stuck in pain and self-resentment will be even harder.(是的,一直积极地应对挑战和困境确实很难,但深陷痛苦和自我怨恨会更艰难)”可知,上文呼吁做出明智选择,下文强调勿被负面情绪困住,空处需承接“明智选择”,提醒避免负面行为。 (二) Suppose you are listening to a program in English and hear the word “suspend”. You have heard this word many times and looked up the equivalent (意思相同的) word in your own language many times, but still forget its meaning. It is easy to blame yourself or think, “I have a terrible memory!” 6 The problem is that translating a word into its equivalent word in your language is not an effective way to learn vocabulary. It doesn’t create strong connections in the brain, something critical for remembering information. 7   Now, we will discuss how to use images to remember vocabulary. Danielle Zélin is an English teacher. She has taught for about 25 years, including in South Africa, Latvia and Mauritius, her homeland. 8 “Humans think in images,” she says. Zélin uses pictures or images with her beginning students and some of her mid-level students. Another teacher suggests learners make visual dictionaries with pictures from the Internet. Before you make the dictionary, think about your goals. If the goal is to strengthen what you’ve already learned about, put the words in alphabetical (字母表的) order. 9   But if the goal is to write a sentence using each new word, then you probably do not need to put the words into groups. You can also use word maps. In a word map, you write a central word or idea in the middle and connect it with lines to related words. 10   Zélin gives the example of the word “sharp”. If you center that word, you can connect it to words of things that are sharp, such as knife, needle and scissors. A.Why do you blame yourself for this? B.Then organize them into related groups. C.But your memory is actually not the problem. D.She thinks visual aids vital for language learners. E.These are mental tools for you to create information. F.This builds logic associations between relevant words. G.To really learn words, connect them with mind pictures. 6.上文“It is easy to blame yourself or think, “I have a terrible memory!”(很容易责怪自己或想,“我的记忆力太差了!”)” 下文“The problem is that translating a word into its equivalent word in your language is not an effective way to learn vocabulary.(问题是,将一个单词翻译成你语言中的对应单词并不是学习词汇的有效方法。)” 7.下文“Now, we will discuss how to use images to remember vocabulary.(现在,我们将讨论如何使用图像来记忆词汇。)” 8.上文“Danielle Zélin is an English teacher. She has taught for about 25 years, including in South Africa, Latvia and Mauritius, her homeland.(Danielle Zélin是一名英语老师。 下文““Humans think in images,” she says. Zélin uses pictures or images with her beginning students and some of her mid-level students.(“人类用图像思考,”她说。 9.上文“If the goal is to strengthen what you’ve already learned about, put the words in alphabetical order.(如果目标是加强你已经学过的知识,就把单词按字母顺序排列。)” 下文“But if the goal is to write a sentence using each new word, then you probably do not need to put the words into groups.(但如果目标是用每个新单词写一个句子,那么你可能不需要把单词分组。)” 10.上文“In a word map, you write a central word or idea in the middle and connect it with lines to related words.(在单词地图中,你在中间写一个中心词或想法,并用线将其与相关单词连接起来。)” 下文“Zélin gives the example of the word “sharp”. If you center that word, you can connect it to words of things that are sharp, such as knife, needle and scissors.(Zélin举了“sharp”这个词的例子。 (三) In recent years, a new travel trend (趋势) has quietly come up among busy students and young professionals: micro-travel. 11 This trend reflects a growing desire to balance modern life with meaningful experiences — all without breaking the bank or using up limited vacation days. Several factors drive this trend. First, the fast-paced modern lifestyle leaves little time for long trips. Weekends become precious windows for relaxation. Second, micro-travel is wallet-friendly. 12 Third, environmental awareness plays a role, as shorter distances mean lower carbon footprints. Technology also pushes the trend. Social media platforms like Xiaohongshu are filled with micro-travel guides, showing scenic spots and cultural activities nearby. 13 One high school student from Hangzhou shared online: “I used to think travel required big plans, but last weekend, I visited a lakeside Chinese art show in my city. It felt like a mini-vacation!” What makes micro-travel special is its focus on cultural exploration. 14 In Japan, young city dwellers (居民) might visit rural areas to join tea ceremonies on Saturdays. In Italy, families often explore nearby villages during harvest festivals to taste local dishes and learn about ancient farming. 15 Small towns and cultural sites become seen and gain economic support, which helps protect heritage (遗产). For example, the comeback of traditional dyeing workshops in Guizhou, China, owes much to weekend visitors interested in hands-on experiences. Meanwhile, travelers return home with fresh thoughts and inspiration. A.The rise of micro-travel benefits both travelers and communities. B.Most importantly, micro-travel offers a unique way to relax mentally. C.Many travelers use weekends to experience local traditions. D.Apps like TripAdvisor or local tourism websites make it easy to plan a 48-hour adventure. E.With rising travel costs, short trips cut down expenses on transportation and accommodation. F.These experiences create lasting memories and deepen understanding of different cultures. G.Unlike traditional vacations, micro-travel focuses on short, immersive (沉浸式) weekend trips to nearby cultural destinations. 11.由上文“In recent years, a new travel trend has quietly come up among busy students and young professionals: micro-travel. 可知,空处要介绍微旅行,G选项“Unlike traditional vacations, micro-travel focuses on short, immersive weekend trips to nearby cultural destinations. 且下文的“This trend”指代该选项中的“micro-travel focuses on short, immersive weekend trips to nearby cultural destinations”。故选G。 12.由上文“Second, micro-travel is wallet-friendly. 可知,空处要讲和“微旅行经济实惠”相关的话题,E选项“With rising travel costs, short trips cut down expenses on transportation and accommodation. 13.由上文“Technology also pushes the trend. Social media platforms like Xiaohongshu are filled with micro-travel guides, showing scenic spots and cultural activities nearby. 可知,空处要说科技对于微旅行的助力,D选项“Apps like TripAdvisor or local tourism websites make it easy to plan a 48-hour adventure. 且该选项中的“Apps like TripAdvisor or local tourism websites”与上文的“Technology”及“Social media platforms like Rednote”相呼应。故选D。 14.由上文“What makes micro-travel special is its focus on cultural exploration. In Italy, families often explore nearby villages during harvest festivals to taste local dishes and learn about ancient farming. 可知,空处要说微旅行对于文化探索的意义,C选项“Many travelers use weekends to experience local traditions. 能承上启下,符合题意,且该选项中的“weekends”与下文的“on Saturdays”相呼应,“experience local traditions”与上文的“cultural exploration”及下文的“join tea ceremonies”及“taste local dishes and learn about ancient farming”相呼应。故选C。 15.由下文“Small towns and cultural sites become seen and gain economic support, which helps protect heritage. 及“Meanwhile, travelers return home with fresh thoughts and inspiration. 可知,本段讲的是微旅行对旅游地和旅行者双方带来的好处,A选项“The rise of micro-travel benefits both travelers and communities. 故选A。 (四) Poetry challenges to enrich your reading life Whether you desire for more poetry or simply appreciate striving for reading goals, these three poetry challenges can serve as that push to create space for more poetry in your life. 16 . The future of housing requires us to redefine how we live, how we occupy space and move in response to global challenges. 21 . Sustainability at the Core 22 . Residential designs of the future must incorporate energy efficient solutions and reduce carbon footprint. This will be driven by passive house principles, renewable energy, and local sustainability. Making the most of natural light, airflow, and insulation (隔热) results in energy consumption and greater comfort. 23 Future homes will feature seamlessly (无缝地) integrated technology to provide everything from automated lighting and climate control to security and energy management. 24 . Equipped with voice-controlled devices and AI-driven systems, houses will become smarter. Community-Oriented Living 25 . Future residential architecture encourages a sense of community while providing privacy. Shared green spaces, communal kitchens and co-working areas will become more common, especially in urban developments. 23.下文“Future homes will feature seamlessly (无缝地) integrated technology to provide everything from automated lighting and climate control to security and energy management. The benefits of teamwork 26 . Whether setting up a goal in soccer or working together in a relay race, kids learn that success depends on teamwork. They begin to appreciate different strengths and roles, which helps them respect different skills and viewpoints, building an empathetic attitude. 27 From winning a championship to losing a close game, sports create emotional bonds After a tough loss, teammates might share lessons or offer encouragement. These moments teach kids to support each other through highs and lows, strengthening their ability to empathize. Role models in sports Athletes often model empathy in action. When a professional player helps an opponent (对手) up or praises a teammate, young fans notice it. Many athletes also support social causes, showing that empathy is beyond the game. Children tend to look up to these figures and learn to care about others. 28 . Lessons learned through competition Healthy competition teaches respect for opponents. Kids see the hard work others put in and learn to appreciate their efforts. 29 . For example, a tennis player might praise their opponent after a match, putting respect above competition. The importance of community involvement (参与) Local sports teams often take part in community activities, like charity events or neighborhood projects. 30 . Playing with people from different backgrounds also widens their viewpoints, helping them understand and empathize with different life experiences. A.The power of shared experiences B.The influence of personal achievements C.They also make empathy a part of their own behavior D.Team sports teach children to work together toward a common goal E.Winning with politeness or losing gracefully strengthens fairness and empathy F.Empathy improves in environments where kids feel safe to express themselves G.These experiences show kids how to do their part for something larger than themselves 【答案】26.D 27.A 28.C 29.E 30.G 【导语】本文是一篇说明文,围绕“运动如何培养儿童共情力”展开,从团队合作、共享情绪、榜样示范、礼貌竞争和社区参与五个角度论证。 26.下文“Whether setting up a goal in soccer or working together in a relay race, kids learn that success depends on teamwork. 指出“团队成功”这一核心,D项“Team sports teach children to work together toward a common goal (团队运动教会孩子们为共同目标而协力奋斗)”也提出要实现共同目标,这便是团队合作的体现,故选D。 27.下文“From winning a championship to losing a close game, sports create emotional bonds. After a tough loss, teammates might share lessons or offer encouragement.”(从夺冠到惜败,运动创造情感纽带;经历惨痛失利后,队友会分享教训或给予鼓励。)强调“共享情绪体验”,A项“The power of shared experiences(共享体验的力量)”正是对本段主旨的提炼,故选A。 28.上文“Children tend to look up to these figures and learn to care about others. 指出了榜样人物对孩子们产生的良好影响,C项“They also make empathy a part of their own behavior(他们也让共情成为自身行为的一部分)”进一步阐述了这些好的影响,they也指代上文中的children。故选C。 29.上文“Healthy competition teaches respect for opponents. Kids see the hard work others put in and learn to appreciate their efforts. 30.上文“Local sports teams often take part in community activities, like charity events or neighborhood projects. 提到体育运动可以为集体做出贡献,G项“These experiences show kids how to do their part for something larger than themselves(这些体验让孩子们懂得为比自己更宏大的事业贡献力量)”逻辑一致,比自己更伟大的事情也就是集体贡献,故选G。 (七) When we fall behind others or perform less well in areas we care about, a feeling of envy arises. Envy has always been a part of human experience. 31 The former brings misery but drives self-improvement and emulation (效仿). Malicious envy, however, leads to harm, like hostile thoughts. Benign envy comes when you think others deserve admiration; malicious envy when you don’t. That’s why you might envy a war hero but not wish him ill, yet enjoy a Hollywood actor’s failed marriage. Envy — especially malicious — is harmful. Neuroscientists find it activates the brain’s anterior cingulate cortex, linked to physical and mental pain. A 2018 Social Science & Medicine study of 18,000 people found envy predicts worse future mental health. It even stops the natural trend of better mental health with age. 32 Different people envy different things. I don’t care about others’ fancy boats, but envy men my age with full hair. Scholars note patterns: young people envy education, looks or romance; older people envy money. 33 Studies show men envy social status most, women physical attractiveness. Both envy others’ romantic success second. Envy needs exposure to “luckier” people. Social media worsens this — strangers show only admirable and enviable lives. Social media plays an important role in fueling envy. 34 Experiments prove passive social media use lowers well-being via more envy. It is impossible to end envy. 35 Next time envy hits, think of loved ones or your own good fortune. A.However, gratitude helps. B.Academics call this “Facebook envy”. C.And it doesn’t bring economic success. D.Envy often causes fights between people. E.Women are more likely to show envy than men. F.Men and women tend to envy different qualities. G.Scholars categorize envy into benign and malicious envy. 31.根据后文“The former brings misery but drives self-improvement and emulation (效仿). Malicious envy, however, leads to harm, like hostile thoughts. Benign envy comes when you think others deserve admiration; malicious envy when you don’t. That’s why you might envy a war hero but not wish him ill, yet enjoy a Hollywood actor’s failed marriage.(前者会带来痛苦,但能促使自我提升和效仿。 32.根据上文“Envy — especially malicious — is harmful. Neuroscientists find it activates the brain’s anterior cingulate cortex, linked to physical and mental pain. A 2018 Social Science & Medicine study of 18,000 people found envy predicts worse future mental health. It even stops the natural trend of better mental health with age.(嫉妒——尤其是恶意的嫉妒——是有害的。 33.根据后文“Studies show men envy social status most, women physical attractiveness. 34.根据上文“Envy needs exposure to “luckier” people. Social media worsens this — strangers show only admirable and enviable lives. Social media plays an important role in fueling envy.(嫉妒需要与“更幸运的人”接触。 D.Envy often causes fights between people.(嫉妒往往引发人与人之间的争斗。) D。 Passage 1 Be the Sunshine in Someone’s Life Have you ever noticed how a single sunny day can lift your spirits? 1 In much the same way, each of us has the power to be a source of that same warmth and light in the lives of others. Being someone’s sunshine doesn’t require obvious moves; it is often found in the smallest acts of kindness. Think about the power of a smile offered to a stranger. It costs nothing, yet it can silently communicate, “I see you, and you matter.” 2 In a world that is often too loud and rushed, giving someone your full attention can be a peaceful shelter for their worries. Your patience can make them feel heard and valued when they feel alone. 3 A simple “You can do this” or “I believe in you” can be the hope that helps someone push through a difficult challenge. Your belief in them can inspire (激发) their belief in themselves. Even small, practical help — like holding a door open or helping with a heavy bag — can ease another’s stress and brighten their day. The most beautiful part is that this sunshine doesn’t just benefit the receiver; it warms the giver, too. The act of making someone else smile creates a wonderful feeling of connection and purpose within us. 4 So, let us all try to be a little brighter. Let your actions be gentle (温和的), your words be kind, and your presence be warm. 5 For in the end, the more sunshine we give away, the brighter our own world becomes. A.Consider the gift of a listening ear. B.It reminds us of our shared humanity. C.The world seems brighter, and your heart feels lighter. D.Your kindness holds a power you might not even realize. E.You have the power to make a big difference by showing care. F.Words of encouragement are another powerful way to spread light. G.Look for opportunities to add a little light to the world around you. 1.上文“Have you ever noticed how a single sunny day can lift your spirits.(你有没有注意到,一个晴朗的日子如何能提升你的精神。)” 下文“In much the same way, each of us has the power to be a source of that same warmth and light in the lives of others.(同样地,我们每个人都有能力成为别人生活中温暖和光明的源泉。)” 2.下文“In a world that is often too loud and rushed, giving someone your full attention can be a peaceful shelter for their worries.(在一个常常喧嚣和匆忙的世界里,给予某人你全部的注意力可以为他们的忧虑提供一个宁静的避风港。)” 故选A。 3.下文“A simple “You can do this” or “I believe in you” can be the hope that helps someone push through a difficult challenge.(一句简单的“你能做到”或“我相信你”可以成为帮助某人克服困难挑战的希望。)” 4.上文“The most beautiful part is that this sunshine doesn’t just benefit the receiver; it warms the giver, too. The act of making someone else smile creates a wonderful feeling of connection and purpose within us.(最美好的部分是,这种阳光不仅对接受者有益,对给予者也有益。 5.上文“So, let us all try to be a little brighter. So here are five simple strategies to help you learn how to manage your anger: Relax. Breathe deeply from your stomach. 6 . Repeat it to yourself and visualize a relaxing time and experience. Change the way you think. When you’re angry, your thinking can get exaggerated. 7 . For instance, instead of telling yourself, “Oh, it’s terrible! Everything’s ruined,” tell yourself, “It’s understandable that I’m upset about it, but it’s not the end of the world.” 8 . Statements like “This never works.” or “You’re always forgetting things.” will make you feel your anger is justified and there’s no way to solve the problem. They might upset people who might be willing to work with you to find a solution. Have better communication. Angry people tend to jump to conclusions. 9 . Listen carefully to what the other person is saying. And take your time before answering. Instead of saying the first thing that comes into your head, think carefully about what you want to say. Use humor. Psychologists say that highly angry people tend to think “things ought to go my way!” 10 . So, when you feel that anger comes the next time, picture yourself as a king or queen, walking around, admired by everybody, and getting your own way in every situation. The more detail you can get into your imaginary scenes, the more likely it is to put a smile on your face. That will help you realize that the things you’re angry about are really not very important. A.Be careful with words like “never” or “always” B.Rushing to respond often leads to regretful words C.Taking a short walk can also ease tense feelings D.Try replacing these thoughts with more reasonable ones E.This kind of extreme thinking fuels anger unnecessarily F.“Silly humor” can help you get a more balanced perspective G.Then slowly repeat a calm word or phrase such as “take it easy” 【答案】6.G 7.D 8.A 9.B 10.F 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。 6.由上文“Relax. Breathe deeply from your stomach.(放松。 及下文“Repeat it to yourself and visualize a relaxing time and experience.(对自己重复这句话,想象一个放松的时刻和经历。)” G选项“Then slowly repeat a calm word or phrase such as “take it easy”(然后慢慢地重复一个平静的词或短语,比如“放松”)”能够承接上文,说明深呼吸后要重复一个平静的词或短语,符合题意。故选G。 7.由上文“Change the way you think. When you’re angry, your thinking can get exaggerated.(改变你的思维方式。 8.由下文“Statements like “This never works.” or “You’re always forgetting things.” will make you feel your anger is justified and there’s no way to solve the problem.(像“这从来都不管用。” 故选A。 9.由上文“Angry people tend to jump to conclusions.(生气的人往往会急于下结论。)”及下文“Listen carefully to what the other person is saying. And take your time before answering.(仔细听对方在说什么。 10.由上文“Use humor. Psychologists say that highly angry people tend to think “things ought to go my way!”(使用幽默。 及下文“So, when you feel that anger comes the next time, picture yourself as a king or queen, walking around, admired by everybody, and getting your own way in every situation.(所以,当你下次感到愤怒的时候,想象自己是一个国王或王后,四处走动,受到每个人的钦佩,在每种情况下都随心所欲。)” Passage 3 Participating (参加) in high school extra-curricular activities is important for personal growth. They can teach you a lot, introduce you to good friends, and give you ideas about what to do in future. 11 The most important thing to consider before taking part in an extra-curricular activity is: 12 If you’re going to spend hours every week doing something, you need to enjoy it. Once you’ve made a list of interests, it’s time to search for opportunities. Usually, your teachers and parents know more about what is going on in your community than you do. 13 And never underestimate (低估) the power of a simple online search! Now you know how to find extra-curricular activities. There is one more problem most high school students have: how to find the time. You need to go to school, do your homework, and maybe even work a part-time job. 14 However, time is not something too difficult to get. You have to make the time to do extra-curricular activities if you really want to get involved (参与). You can sit down and make your schedule hour by hour and take an honest look at what you do with your free time 15 Whether you give up one Saturday every month to volunteer or one hour every week to attend club meetings, you are making the time to make a difference and prepare for your future. A.What do you like to do? B.They won’t mind helping you out a little bit. C.You may not like some extra-curricular activities. D.You’ll find a world of opportunities waiting for you. E.You might be surprised by how much free time you “find”. F.You feel there’s not enough time to participate in extra-curricular activities. G.So if you’re a high school student wondering where to get started, look no further. 11.上文“Participating (参加) in high school extra-curricular activities is important for personal growth. Once you’ve made a list of interests, it’s time to search for opportunities.(若你每周需投入大量时间从事某项活动,就必须从中获得乐趣。 A选项“What do you like to do?(你喜欢做什么?)” 故选A项。 13.上文“Usually, your teachers and parents know more about what is going on in your community than you do.(通常,你的老师和父母比你更了解你所在社区的情况)”说明老师和父母可能能提供关于课外活动的更多信息,B选项“They won’t mind helping you out a little bit.(他们不会介意帮你一点忙的)”承接上文,说明老师和父母知道得更多,也很乐意提供帮助,上下文语意连贯。故选B项。 14.上文“You need to go to school, do your homework, and maybe even work a part-time job.(你需要上学,做作业,甚至可能还要做兼职工作)”说明高中生的时间很紧张,F选项“You feel there’s not enough time to participate in extra-curricular activities.(你觉得没有足够的时间参加课外活动)”与上文构成因果关系,说明高中生面临的问题是没有足够的时间参加课外活动。故选F项。 15.上文“You can sit down and make your schedule hour by hour and take an honest look at what you do with your free time.(你可以坐下来,一小时一小时地制定你的时间表,诚实地看看你在空闲时间都做了什么)”建议要诚实地审视自己的空闲时间,E选项“You might be surprised by how much free time you “find”.(你可能会对自己“找到”的空闲时间感到惊讶)”承接上文,说明如果诚实地审视自己的空闲时间,可能会发现自己其实有更多的空闲时间可以用于参加课外活动,上下文语意连贯。故选E项。 (一) The old saying “time is money”, by Benjamin Franklin, shows a deep truth about time’s importance. 1 Unlike money, once time is used, it can never be regained, making it humanity’s most priceless resource. Many people feel sorry for wasting time later in life, wishing they had prioritized goals or relationships. Good time management turns this regret into opportunity. Individuals who ignore the significance of it may endanger their own future. You should start by finding core priorities — work deadlines, family time, or personal growth — and focus on tasks that match them. 2 Things that take your attention away are modern time’s biggest enemies. Smartphones, social media, and unplanned interruptions take up useful hours. 3 For example, set specific “screen-free” periods or use apps that block distracting websites during work time. Small changes like these can greatly increase daily productivity. 4 Working too much leads to tiredness, while too much free time wastes potential. The key is to alternate regularly: work in focused short periods, then take short breaks to get energy back. This way keeps up your energy and improves overall results. In essence, time management is not about controlling time itself. 5 By using time properly, we can go after goals, care for relationships, and live more satisfying lives. Franklin’s words remind us that our hours, indeed, shape our lives. A.Balance is also important in time management. B.This helps avoid the “busy but unproductive” trap. C.It often makes people lose focus on important tasks. D.This means thinking of every moment as invaluable. E.Instead, it’s about mastering how we use our own hours. F.Forgetting rest to work more harms long-term productivity. G.To fight them, you must set clear limits on these distractions. 1.上文“The old saying ‘time is money’, by Benjamin Franklin, shows a deep truth about time’s importance.(本杰明·富兰克林的名言‘时间就是金钱’揭示了时间重要性的深刻真理。)”引出了关于时间重要性的话题;D选项“This means thinking of every moment as invaluable.(这意味着把每一刻都视为无价之宝。)” 2.上文“You should start by finding core priorities — work deadlines, family time, or personal growth—and focus on tasks that match them.(你应该首先确定核心优先事项——工作截止日期、家庭时间或个人成长——并专注于与之匹配的任务。)”说明了要确定核心优先事项并专注于相关任务;B选项“This helps avoid the ‘busy but unproductive’ trap.(这有助于避免陷入‘忙碌但无成效’的陷阱。)” 3.上文“Things that take your attention away are modern time’s biggest enemies. Smartphones, social media, and unplanned interruptions take up useful hours.(分散你注意力的事物是现代时间最大的敌人。 指出了分散注意力的事物对时间的消耗;G选项“To fight them, you must set clear limits on these distractions.(为了对抗它们,你必须对这些干扰设定明确的限制。)” 4.下文“Working too much leads to tiredness, while too much free time wastes potential. The key is to alternate regularly: work in focused short periods, then take short breaks to get energy back.(工作太多会导致疲劳,而太多的空闲时间会浪费潜力。 强调了工作与休息之间的平衡;A选项“Balance is also important in time management.(在时间管理中,平衡也很重要。)” 故选A。 5.上文“In essence, time management is not about controlling time itself.(本质上,时间管理不是控制时间本身。)”否定了时间管理是控制时间本身的观点;E选项“Instead, it’s about mastering how we use our own hours.(相反,它是关于掌握我们如何利用自己的时间。)” (二) The Surprising Benefits of Adding Adventure to Your Life When feeling blue, the thought of intense physical activity may seem like the worst idea. All you want to do is sit and maybe watch TV. 6 Research by J. Reese McLain (2025) shows adventure therapy (AT) is being used to treat psychological disorders. Defined as the structured use of adventure experiences in nature led by professionals, AT can include practices such as wilderness therapy and activities like kayaking or rock climbing. 7 The less adventurous or physically fit could still benefit as long as they’re getting outside and being as active as their abilities permit. 8 Through a comprehensive analysis of over 73,000 publications, researchers identified 12 quality studies involving more than 2,000 participants with anxiety symptoms. The results showed that 90% of participants experienced measurable benefits. No negative effects were reported — even with adults averaging 43 years old. Several psychological processes explain why adventure therapy works. One is grounded in existential therapy, which emphasizes personal responsibility when facing outdoor challenges. 9 It suggests that by overcoming physical challenges, individuals can build their confidence. Additionally, the team building and friendship developed when tackling difficult goals can help create a greater sense of connectedness. You don’t need to go kayaking to benefit. Outdoor activities can take many forms, from spending an hour pulling up weeds or planting flowers to using your lunch break to visit a local park. 10 When you combine that with enjoying the weather or scenery, you might be doing your mind a favor along with your body. A.Adlerian theory offers another explanation. B.Positive effects were seen even in 2-1/2 hours. C.These are tailored to individual needs and abilities. D.It also strengthens their bond with the natural world. E.The research evidence supporting AT’s effectiveness is convincing. F.Physical activity alone is a valuable addition to conventional therapy. G.Yet research suggests that outdoor activity could be exactly what you need. 6.由上文“When feeling blue, the thought of intense physical activity may seem like the worst idea. All you want to do is sit and maybe watch TV. G项“Yet research suggests that outdoor activity could be exactly what you need. 7.由上文“Research by J. Reese McLain (2025) shows adventure therapy (AT) is being used to treat psychological disorders. Defined as the structured use of adventure experiences in nature led by professionals, AT can include practices such as wilderness therapy and activities like kayaking or rock climbing. C项“These are tailored to individual needs and abilities. (这些是根据个人需求和能力量身定制的)”中的“These”指代上文提到的各种AT活动,说明其个性化特点,能很好地衔接上文,并为下一句“The less adventurous or physically fit could still benefit... 8.由下文“Through a comprehensive analysis of over 73,000 publications, researchers identified 12 quality studies involving more than 2,000 participants with anxiety symptoms. E项“The research evidence supporting AT’s effectiveness is convincing. 9.由上文“One is grounded in existential therapy, which emphasizes personal responsibility when facing outdoor challenges. A项“Adlerian theory offers another explanation. 故选A。 10.由上文“You don’t need to go kayaking to benefit. Outdoor activities can take many forms, from spending an hour pulling up weeds or planting flowers to using your lunch break to visit a local park. F项“Physical activity alone is a valuable addition to conventional therapy. (三) Whether you’re a professional athlete or just like to play sports, doing your best starts with a healthy mind. 11 —— it’s about building good habits like drinking enough water, eating right, and getting proper rest. Exercise is important, but what you do when you’ re not exercising matters too. 12 . Carbohydrates (碳水化合物) give you quick energy for your workouts. Proteins help repair and grow your muscles. Healthy fats help your body absorb vitamins and protect your organs. Eating a balance of these nutrients helps you become stronger and recover faster. Even with a good diet, sometimes you might need a little extra help. Things like electrolytes (电解质) or Vitamin D can help your heart, bones, and immune system (免疫系统). 13 . It’s a good idea to talk to a doctor before trying new supplements (补充品), so you only take what your body really needs. Drinking enough water is very important for your body during exercise. 14 . However, if you’ re doing very intense (强烈的) exercise for a long time, a sports drink with electrolytes can be a better choice. Staying hydrated helps control your body temperature, keeps you focused, and maintains your energy. Doing the same exercise every day can make you tired or even cause injuries. 15 : change your workout every third time to keep your body and mind interested. Small changes help your muscles grow and keep your joints healthy. Trying different exercises helps you improve faster and get closer to your best performance. With good habits and self-care, you can make progress a normal part of your life. A.Eating at the right time is very important B.But more isn’t always better for your body C.Eating right is the base of doing well in sports D.True health is more than just exercise in the gym E.Water is the best choice for most day-to-day workouts F.That’s why coaches suggest following the “rule of three” G.When you exercise, your body needs water to work properly 【答案】11.D 12.C 13.B 14.E 15.F 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。 11.由上文“Whether you’ re a professional athlete or just like to play sports, doing your best starts with a healthy mind. D选项“True health is more than just exercise in the gym (真正的健康不仅仅是在健身房锻炼)”能承上启下,符合题意。故选D。 12.由下文“Carbohydrates (碳水化合物) give you quick energy for your workouts. Proteins help repair and grow your muscles. Healthy fats help your body absorb vitamins and protect your organs. Eating a balance of these nutrients helps you become stronger and recover faster. C选项“Eating right is the base of doing well in sports (正确饮食是运动表现良好的基础)”能概括下文,符合题意。故选C。 13.由上文“Even with a good diet, sometimes you might need a little extra help. Things like electrolytes (电解质) or Vitamin D can help your heart, bones, and immune system (免疫系统). 及下文“It’s a good idea to talk to a doctor before trying new supplements (补充品), so you only take what your body really needs. B选项“But more isn’t always better for your body (但更多并不总是对你的身体更好)”能承上启下,符合题意。故选B。 14.由上文“Drinking enough water is very important for your body during exercise. 及下文“However, if you’ re doing very intense(强烈的) exercise for a long time, a sports drink with electrolytes can be a better choice. E选项“Water is the best choice for most day-to-day workouts (对于大多数日常锻炼来说,水是最好的选择)”能承上启下,符合题意。故选E。 15.由上文“Doing the same exercise every day can make you tired or even cause injuries. 及下文“change your workout every third time to keep your body and mind interested. Small changes help your muscles grow and keep your joints healthy. F选项“That’s why coaches suggest following the “rule of three” (这就是为什么教练建议遵循“三原则”)”能承上启下,且后文对“三原则”进行了解释说明,符合题意。故选F。 (四) When Failure Is a Good Thing Failure is an important process you can learn from. 16 Most people view failure as something that should be avoided at all costs. 17 It may have been an “F” we received on a paper or the high expectations our parents placed upon our shoulders that stopped us from trying. Award-winning psychologist and author, Ron Friedman, tells the story of how Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx, revolutionized the women’s clothing industry and became a billionaire in his book, The Best Place To Work: The Art and Science of Creating an Extraordinary Workplace. 18 She had zero experience in the clothing industry, lacked an education in business and raised only $5,000 to invest. When asked where she found the courage, she gave all credit to her dad. While most parents ask their kids, “How was your day?” when sitting down for dinner, Sara’s parents asked her and her brother, “What did you fail at today?” each and every night. When interviewed by CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Sara said, “Instead of failure being the outcome, failure became not trying. It forced me at a young age to want to push myself so much further out of my comfort zone.” 19 It became more about learning and less about a personal weakness. If we view failure as weakness, we avoid stepping out of our comfort zone. 20 It does not define us, but instead matures us. I’m sure that there are many risks we would all take in our personal, professional and spiritual lives if we could get past a fear of failure. A.In reality, Sara’s father had re-defined failure. B.Early on, Sara overcame a series of difficulties. C.And, most importantly, it means you tried. D.Let’s take a look at how Sara faced failures. E.We tend to connect failure with a bad experience we had as a child. F.Instead, we must remind ourselves that failure is an action. G.It is important to reflect on what can be learnt from failure. 17.根据后文“It may have been an “F” we received on a paper or the high expectations our parents placed upon our shoulders that stopped us from trying.(可能是我们在某次考试中得了“不及格”的成绩,又或者是父母对我们寄予了过高的期望,这些都让我们不敢去尝试)”可知,后文举例“试卷上的F分、父母的高期望”,均属于童年相关的负面经历,E项“我们往往将失败与童年的糟糕经历联系起来”引出下文,逻辑连贯。故选E。 18.根据后文“She had zero experience in the clothing industry, lacked an education in business and raised only $5,000 to invest. When asked where she found the courage, she gave all credit to her dad. While most parents ask their kids, “How was your day?” when sitting down for dinner, Sara’s parents asked her and her brother, “What did you fail at today?” each and every night.(她对服装行业毫无经验,也没有接受过商业方面的教育,而且仅筹集了5000美元用于投资。 19.根据上文“When interviewed by CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Sara said, “Instead of failure being the outcome, failure became not trying. It forced me at a young age to want to push myself so much further out of my comfort zone.”(在接受美国有线电视新闻网(CNN)安德森·库珀的采访时,萨拉说道:“原本失败才是最终结果,但后来失败变成了不去尝试。 故选A。 20. (五) On the move Daniel Matthews is an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. He keeps a busy schedule, working 12-hour shifts, sometimes during the day and sometimes at night. 21 Emergency calls require a quick response. “Being a first responder comes more naturally for me and many medics.” When the medical dispatch center (调度中心) receives the 911 call, they send it to a cell phone that they carry. The phone has all the information he and his partner need about the type of emergency they’re responding to. 22 23 Matthews never knows what kind of emergency he’ll face. “It can be difficult, sitting in a chair one minute, and the next, you will be in a ditch on the side of a highway doing CPR (心肺复苏),” Matthews says. And the emergencies change with the seasons, too. “In the winter, we respond to car accidents due to bad weather or winter sports accidents,” Matthews says. In the summer, there are calls about shortness of breath and asthma (哮喘) due to humidity and heat, as well as recreational vehicle accidents. An EMT’s work can be stressful. Staying centered and controlling your emotions are important for this job. It isn’t just about saving lives, Matthews says. It’s about treating patients with respect. 24 Yet, not everybody has a personality like this. Taking care of yourself is also important, Matthews says. “To be a good medic, you need to get consistent, proper exercise,” he says. 25 “Good family support.” A.An EMT’s job is unpredictable. B.But perhaps most important of all? C.Once we’re ready to go, we’re assigned a post. D.Staying calm is a big part of being able to help them. E.An EMT has to be quick, calm and ready for anything. F.Matthews also uses GPS on the phone to guide him to a location. G.Then he and his partner respond to 911 calls made from that area. 21.根据上文“Daniel Matthews is an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. The phone has all the information he and his partner need about the type of emergency they’re responding to.(紧急呼叫需要迅速响应。 23.根据后文“Matthews never knows what kind of emergency he’ll face. In the summer, there are calls about shortness of breath and asthma (哮喘) due to humidity and heat, as well as recreational vehicle accidents.(马修斯永远不知道自己会面临何种紧急情况。 故选A。 24.根据上文“An EMT’s work can be stressful. Staying centered and controlling your emotions are important for this job. It isn’t just about saving lives, Matthews says. It’s about treating patients with respect.(急救员的工作可能会很紧张。 25.根据上文“Taking care of yourself is also important, Matthews says. “To be a good medic, you need to get consistent, proper exercise,” he says.(马修斯说,照顾好自己也很重要。 (六) Lessons that are Learned from the Olympics The Olympic Games are enjoyed by everyone all over the world. 26 But we just watch the Game? 27.本段小标题为“Excellence comes with hard work and practice. 下文“Learning about the training schedules of Olympic athletes reminds us that repetition is the servant (仆人) of success. B选项“Success doesn’t come easily. 28.此处需填本段小标题,需与其他标题(如“Excellence comes with hard work and practice.”“Enjoy your success.”) 根据下文“Every athlete who has made it into Olympic competition has suffered injury and disappointment along the way, but that has not been the end of their dream. They know that they can learn more from failure than success. You can treat your setbacks (挫折) as a teaching tool. A选项“Expect to fail sometimes. 故选A项。 29. (享受你的成功)”,上文提到“Observe the Olympic athletes when they stand on the winners’ platform with their medals, listening to their national anthems (国歌). Their pride is obvious. . E选项“Enjoy the feelings of power that come from your achievement. (欣赏其他文化)”,上文提出疑问“Do you know what the symbol of the five-ring Olympic flag means? F选项“The Olympics celebrate the unity of the games and individual nationality. (七) Forest bathing has become a popular way for people to relax and improve their health. Its benefits for reducing stress and improving mood are well-known to many of us. 31 The truth is, to truly gain the benefits, you need to do more than just a simple walk and connect with nature in a special way. Here are some tips to help you practice forest bathing effectively. 32 The first step is to leave your daily distractions behind. For example, put your phone on silent mode or, even better, turn it off and put it away. The goal is to be fully present in the natural world. Find a quiet spot where you can stay for a while without being bothered by any modern devices. This allows your body and mind to fully integrate into the environment around you. Engage Your Senses Once you have found your quiet spot, it’s time to slowly engage all your senses. You can observe the different shapes of green in the leaves. You can listen carefully to the sounds of birds singing and the wind rustling the leaves. 33 You can even touch the bark of a tree or a smooth stone. This multisensory immersion is the core of the forest bathing experience. Walk Slowly and Mindfully This is not hiking with a destination in mind. It is about walking at a much slower pace than usual and paying attention to the sensation of your feet on the path. 34 The purpose is not to cover distance, but to deepen your connection with each moment and your surroundings. Breathe Deeply Taking deep, slow breaths can help your body and mind relax, especially when you inhale the fresh, clean air of the forest. Plants and trees give out natural oils called phytoncides (植物杀菌素) into the air. 35 . This is one of the scientific secrets behind the healing power of forest bathing. By following these simple steps, you can transform your next visit to a forest from a simple outing into a powerful and healthy practice for your body and mind. A.Record the beautiful moments. B.Disconnect from devices. C.Stop sometimes to observe details of the surroundings you will normally miss. D.It is vital to share your inner feelings with the friends who accompany you. E.However, many people misunderstand it as just a walk in the forests. F.Scientific studies show that breathing in these substances can strengthen our immune system. G.You can also smell the earthy fragrance of the soil and the unique scent of the plants after rain. 31.根据上文“Its benefits for reducing stress and improving mood are well-known to many of us. (它在减压和改善情绪方面的好处我们很多人都知道)”以及下文“The truth is, to truly gain the benefits, you need to do more than just a simple walk and connect with nature in a special way. E选项“However, many people misunderstand it as just a walk in the forests. (然而,很多人将其误解为只是在森林里散步)”中的“However”承接上文的转折关系,“misunderstand it as just a walk”直接点出核心误解,与下文“need to do more than just a simple walk”形成紧密呼应,为后文介绍“有效进行森林浴的技巧”做铺垫,符合语境。故选E项。 32. 根据下文“For example, put your phone on silent mode or, even better, turn it off and put it away. The goal is to be fully present in the natural world. Find a quiet spot where you can stay for a while without being bothered by any modern devices.(例如,把你的手机调成静音模式,或者更好的是,把它关掉,把它放在一边。 B选项“Disconnect from devices. 33.本段小标题为“Engage Your Senses (调动你的感官)”,上文提到“observe the different shapes of green (观察不同形状的绿色)”“listen carefully to the sounds (仔细听声音)”,下文提到“touch the bark of a tree (触摸树皮)”,此处需补充“嗅觉”相关的感官体验,保持“多感官沉浸”的逻辑连贯。G选项“You can also smell the earthy fragrance of the soil and the unique scent of the plants after rain. 34.本段小标题为“Walk Slowly and Mindfully (正念慢走)”,上文提到“walking at a much slower pace than usual and paying attention to the sensation of your feet on the path (以比平时慢得多的速度行走,关注脚在小路上的触感)”,下文提到“The purpose is not to cover distance, but to deepen your connection with each moment and your surroundings (目的不是为了走距离,而是加深与每一刻和周围环境的连接)”,此处需补充“慢走”过程中的具体做法。C选项“Stop sometimes to observe details of the surroundings you will normally miss. (偶尔停下来,观察那些你平时会忽略的周围细节)”中的“Stop sometimes”“observe details”呼应“慢走”“正念”的核心,“you will normally miss”突出了“正念观察”的意义,与下文“deepen your connection with... surroundings”形成逻辑衔接,符合语境。故选C项。 35.本段小标题为“Breathe Deeply (深呼吸)”,上文提到“Plants and trees give out natural oils called phytoncides into the air. F选项“Scientific studies show that breathing in these substances can strengthen our immune system. (科学研究表明,吸入这些物质可以增强我们的免疫系统)”中的“these substances”指代上文的“phytoncides”,“strengthen our immune system”解释了深呼吸的具体健康益处,且“scientific studies”与下文“the scientific secrets behind the healing power”形成呼应,符合语境。 技巧:常伴随转折逻辑词出现,如but, however, while, unlike。 例:上文出现apple, banana(下义),空处可能填入fruit(上义)。 表概况归纳关系有:in short , in brief , in summary ,generally speaking ,in general , to conclude ,in conclusion, in a word ,on the whole , to sum up 等。 阅读七选五常见的语篇结构如下: 例1 “总—分”结构 (2024·新高考Ⅰ卷)Not all great writers are great spellers. If you want to be published, it's vital to submit a perfect, professionally presented manuscript (原稿).__36__ No editor is likely to tolerate a writer who does not take the trouble to spell words correctly. A.Remember important dates B.Compensate by writing letters 2. 例2 (2021·全国甲卷·节选) A successful swap depends on the selection of clothes, the organization of the event, and, obviously, how much fun is had. It's really easy to do! (二) Suppose you are listening to a program in English and hear the word “suspend”. (三) In recent years, a new travel trend (趋势) has quietly come up among busy students and young professionals: micro-travel. A.Smart Home Integration B.Flexible, Multi-Functional Spaces C.Being sustainable has become more a norm than a trend D.As urbanization increases, there’s a growing trend toward shared and co-living spaces E.Residents need spaces to concentrate and work productively F.All of them anticipate the habits and preferences of residents G.Some trends will define the future of residential architecture (六) How Sports Develop Empathy (共鸣) Sports do more than build physical strength — they develop children’s empathy that lasts a lifetime. A.The power of shared experiences B.The influence of personal achievements C.They also make empathy a part of their own behavior D.Team sports teach children to work together toward a common goal E.Winning with politeness or losing gracefully strengthens fairness and empathy F.Empathy improves in environments where kids feel safe to express themselves G.These experiences show kids how to do their part for something larger than themselves (七) When we fall behind others or perform less well in areas we care about, a feeling of envy arises. Passage 1 Be the Sunshine in Someone’s Life Have you ever noticed how a single sunny day can lift your spirits? Passage 2 Everybody gets angry, but out-of-control anger isn’t good for you or those around you. A.Be careful with words like “never” or “always” B.Rushing to respond often leads to regretful words C.Taking a short walk can also ease tense feelings D.Try replacing these thoughts with more reasonable ones E.This kind of extreme thinking fuels anger unnecessarily F.“Silly humor” can help you get a more balanced perspective G.Then slowly repeat a calm word or phrase such as “take it easy” Passage 3 Participating (参加) in high school extra-curricular activities is important for personal growth. (一) The old saying “time is money”, by Benjamin Franklin, shows a deep truth about time’s importance. (二) The Surprising Benefits of Adding Adventure to Your Life When feeling blue, the thought of intense physical activity may seem like the worst idea. A.Eating at the right time is very important B.But more isn’t always better for your body C.Eating right is the base of doing well in sports D.True health is more than just exercise in the gym E.Water is the best choice for most day-to-day workouts F.That’s why coaches suggest following the “rule of three” G.When you exercise, your body needs water to work properly (四) When Failure Is a Good Thing Failure is an important process you can learn from.
