Last summer, I joined a youth travel group to explore the Silk Road. It was a journey full of surprises and cultural discoveries. Before the trip, I only knew the Silk Road from textbooks, but I never imagined how 16 it would be to experience it in person.
On the first day, we arrived in Xi’an, the starting point of the ancient Silk Road. The moment I saw the Terracotta Army, I was 17 by its grandeur. Our guide told us that each warrior has a unique face, which shows the superb craftsmanship of the Qin Dynasty. In the evening, we watched a traditional dance performance. The dancers’ beautiful costumes and graceful movements 18 us to the ancient times.
During the trip, we also visited some small towns along the Silk Road. In one of them, we met a local craftsman who has been making paper-cutting 19 more than 40 years. He taught us some basic skills, and I was amazed by how a simple piece of paper could be turned into a beautiful work of art. He told us that paper-cutting has been passed down from generation to generation and is now popular among foreign tourists 20 its unique cultural charm.
On the way to Dunhuang, we drove through a vast desert. The scenery was breathtaking. At night, we camped under the stars. We shared stories about our hometowns and dreams. It was a moment of 21 that I would never forget.
In Dunhuang, we visited the Mogao Grottoes. The murals (壁画) there are so beautiful that they left a deep 22 on me. Our guide explained the stories behind the murals and how they reflect the cultural exchanges between China and other countries in ancient times. I realized that the Silk Road is not just a trade route, but also a bridge for cultural communication.
The trip lasted for two weeks, but it felt like a lifetime. I not only saw many amazing scenic spots but also learned a lot about Chinese history and culture. I understand that cultural heritage is a precious gift from our ancestors. We should 23 it and pass it on to future generations.
This journey also changed my view on travel. Travel is not just about visiting famous places; it’s about experiencing different cultures, meeting new people, and 24 ourselves. I decided that I will travel more in the future to explore the beauty of the world and 25 my horizons.
16. A. boring B. exciting C. tiring D. worrying

The 2025 Jiangsu Urban Football Super League (commonly known as "Su Chao") kicked off at Zhenjiang Sports Exhibition Center Stadium on May 10th. As the top football event in Jiangsu Province, this year’s league attracted 13 representative teams from 13 prefecture-level cities in the province, including Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou. The matches were held in different host cities under the "one city, one home stadium" mechanism, with a total of 85 games throughout the 7-month season. The regular season concluded on September 27th, and the final—scheduled on November 2nd—determined the champion of this year’s league.
Unlike previous arrangements, this year’s league adjusted rules to ensure player health and competition fairness amid summer heat. Starting from the 6th round, each team was allowed to substitute up to 7 players per match (with a maximum of 3 substitution sessions during the game and an extra session at halftime), and substituted players could not re-enter the field. In addition, the league partnered with Jiangsu TV and over 10 online platforms (including the official app of the title sponsor Jiangsu Bank) to broadcast most matches live. It also adopted a low-ticket-price strategy (10 yuan per ticket) and free online viewing, allowing more football fans to enjoy the games.
The opening match was between Zhenjiang Team (home) and Yangzhou Team. It was a tense and exciting game with back-and-forth attacks. Zhenjiang Team took the lead in the 35th minute with a wonderful long-range shot from their midfielder Chen Yu. However, Yangzhou Team did not give up; their forward Wang Hao equalized in the 72nd minute with a header assisted by a teammate. In the end, the two teams drew 1-1, ending the first game of the season with a fair result.
Many football fans showed up at the stadium to cheer for their city teams. "I’m a die-hard fan of Zhenjiang Team. I arrived at the stadium 2 hours early just to get a good seat. The atmosphere here is amazing—this is the charm of city football!" said Li Tao, a 32-year-old local fan from Zhenjiang. Another fan, Zhou Jia from Suzhou, who drove to Zhenjiang to watch the opening match, said, "The league gives each city a chance to show its football spirit. I hope more young people will be inspired to play football and love this sport."
The organizers of the league stated that the purpose of holding this event is to implement the important instructions on sports and football work, promote the integration of "sports + city", and arouse the sense of regional identity among citizens. "We hope that through the Jiangsu Urban Football Super League, we can not only spread football culture and improve the level of local football, but also make football a new carrier for spreading city culture and uniting public consensus," they said.

【参考范文】
Last year, I joined a kite painting activity to experience traditional Chinese art. The most impressive part was designing patterns with red and gold paint. I drew a phoenix on the kite, and the teacher taught me how to mix colors to make it vivid.
I love kite painting because it combines creativity with cultural meaning. Every pattern, like dragons or peonies, carries good wishes. Now, more young people are interested in this art—many workshops offer experience courses, and some students even share their works online.
I hope kite painting will keep developing. Maybe we can add modern elements to it while preserving traditions, so it can be passed down to more generations and known by people around the world.

How to Plan a Perfect School Trip
School trips are a great way for students to learn outside the classroom. They can help students gain practical knowledge, experience different cultures, and develop teamwork skills. 41 Here are some tips to help you plan a perfect school trip.
First, determine the purpose of the trip. 42 Do you want students to learn about history, science, or culture? Do you want them to experience nature or participate in sports activities? Once you have a clear purpose, you can choose a suitable destination.
Second, choose the right destination. 43 For example, if the purpose of the trip is to learn about history, you can choose to visit historical sites such as the Forbidden City in Beijing or the Ming Tombs. If you want students to experience nature, you can choose a national park or a forest.
Third, make a detailed plan. This includes arranging transportation, accommodation, and activities. 44 You should also consider the safety of the students and make sure that there are enough teachers to accompany them. In addition, you should inform parents about the trip in advance, including the destination, time, and cost.
Fourth, prepare for the trip. 45 You should also prepare first-aid kits, umbrellas, and other necessary items. Before the trip, you should give students a briefing on safety rules and cultural customs.
Finally, evaluate the trip after it is over. You can ask students and teachers to give feedback on the trip. This will help you improve the quality of future school trips.
A. The purpose of the trip will determine the destination and activities.

例文:

Zhenjiang Team took the lead in the 35th minute with a wonderful long-range shot from their midfielder Chen Yu.
