To stay safe, we need clear rules about our privacy (隐私), what we post, our passwords, and who we trust online. By following these tips, we can have a positive experience while protecting ourselves. ②Protect your privacy. A simple step is to use a nickname or a screen name instead of your full real name online. It is very risky to share personal problems, your home address, or your phone number publicly. Never give such information to strangers you meet online. ③Think carefully before you post anything. Ask four questions: Is it against rules? Will it upset others? Could it hurt your future? Would my family be okay with me sharing this? If the answer to any of these is “yes”, it’s best not to share it. ④Keep your passwords safe. A strong password is hard to guess. It should mix capital letters(大写字母), numbers, and symbols. Avoid using easy information like your birthday or pet’s name. It’s also a good habit to change your passwords every few months. Most importantly, never share your passwords with anyone, not even your closest friends. ⑤Don’t trust everyone online. People may exaggerate (夸大其词) online and most people only post their best moments and achievements online, so it’s not a full picture of their real life. What’s more, “free” offers are often tricks. ⑥In short, Internet safety means being careful. But actually, more than 300 years before it, China had already created a great encyclopaedia called the Yongle Dadian, or the Yongle Encyclopedia. In 1403, the Emperor Yongle of China’s Ming Dynasty ordered a scholar (学者) named Xie Jin to compile (编撰) a collection of all known subjects and books. One year later, Xie Jin finished the first version (版本), called A Complete Work of Literature. However, the emperor was not happy. He felt it was completed too quickly and didn’t have enough content (内容). Therefore, in 1405, the emperor put a new lead scholar, Yao Guangxiao, to restart the project. This time, a huge team of over 2,000 scholars worked together. They gathered between 7,000 and 8,000 different books and copied the texts directly into the encyclopaedia. After two years of hard work, they showed a new version. The emperor was very pleased and named this great work after his own reign name, “Yongle”. The team then spent another year carefully writing out the final version by hand. The Yongle Encyclopaedia was finally completed in 1408. The size of the encyclopaedia was amazing. It included 22,937 scrolls (卷轴), which were put together into 11,095 books, covering history, geography, art, science, and many other subjects. It had about 370 million Chinese characters, and it is considered the largest encyclopaedia ever compiled in the world. The original encyclopedia was only written by hand and was never printed. Because of this, there were very few copies. Sadly, most of the Yongle Encyclopedia was lost or destroyed in wars and fires over the centuries. Today, only 221 books remain and they are preserved in the National Library of China in Beijing. 33. Compared with the Encyclopaedia Britannica, the Yongle Encyclopaedia was created ________. A. more than 300 years later B. more than 300 years earlier C. almost at the same time D. about 200 years earlier 34. How long did Yao Guangxiao and his team spend finishing the final version? A. One year. B. Two years. C. Three years. D. Four years. 35. What does the underlined word “preserved” probably mean in the last paragraph? A. Forgotten. B. Protected. C. Printed. D. Opened. 36. Which of the following is the best title for this text? A. The history of the Encyclopaedia Britannica. B. The life of Emperor Yongle. C. The story of an ancient Chinese encyclopaedia. D. How to make an encyclopedia. 【答案】33. B 34. C 35. B 36. The Yongle Encyclopaedia was finally completed in 1408.”可知,姚广孝带领团队花了两年时间编撰出新的版本,又花了一年时间工整誊写,合计三年,故选C。 【35题详解】 词句猜测题。根据“Today, only 221 books remain and they are preserved in the National Library of China in Beijing.” Have you ever imagined being in a car which is driven by a computer, not a human? These great inventions once changed the world. Today, China is surprising the globe again with its “New Four Great Inventions”, which are reshaping modern life. First is high-speed rail. China has built the world’s largest network of these high-speed trains, which are incredibly fast and comfortable. The trains can run at a speed of up to 350 km/h, which has made traveling between cities as easy as a short bus ride, connecting people and places like never before. Next is mobile payment. In many Chinese cities, people no longer need to carry cash. They can pay for almost anything—from a street snack to a taxi ride—by simply scanning a QR code with a cellphone. It’s quick, safe, and super convenient. Another invention is bike-sharing. These colorful shared bikes can be seen on almost every street corner. You can easily unlock one with your phone, ride to your destination, and leave it there for the next person. It’s a green solution for short trips. Finally, there is e-commerce or online shopping. Giant online platforms allow people to buy anything they need—from clothes to fresh groceries—with a few taps on their phone. These goods are often delivered to your door in just hours. China’s spirit of innovation never stops. These New Great Inventions aren’t just helping Chinese people—they’re inspiring and serving people all over the world. 61. D. 61 How fast can the high-speed trains run? ______________________________________________ 62.
