And in today's program, i'd like to share with you a special kind of english culture. The football. A lot of people in england are crazy about football during the football season. Whenever there is a big match, all the flags for local football teams such as liverpool and newcastle are hung g outside every window, or even proudly on t shirts or scarves. There is an atmosphere of excitement in the air. Groups of Young men crowd into dark, packed clubs, staring at television screens. Of course, they are covered head to toe in the colors of their team. They shout and scream and sadness when their team loses a goal or with joy. When there is a moment of success, you do not have to be a fan of football to get caught up in the excitement. As far as Victories are concerned, england had its big moment in nineteen sixty six in wheel ley stadium, the world cup Victories in the heart and minds of all football fans. Now, whenever england is playing a big match, red and White covers every inch of every pub, a symbol of hope, the english flag. While football has never been something I am particularly interested in, for years, i've had to pretend excitement and pick a team to support. You cannot say you don't like or do not follow football in england. As often this would lead to a long dialogue in which someone would begin telling you why you should support their team. Dear Mr. Smith,
Last Sunday, I participated in a volunteer activity organized by our school to promote fire prevention knowledge. The event took place in the community center near our campus.
The activity was conducted in the form of interactive workshops, where we learned about fire hazards, prevention tips, and emergency response measures. We also distributed brochures and conducted simulations to raise awareness among the residents.
Through the activity, I realized the importance of fire prevention and the role we can play in our community. I felt fulfilled knowing that I had contributed to enhancing public safety.
Best regards,
Li Hua

“Dad, I don’t think I can do medicine,” I took a solid breath. Hearing this, he lowered his eyes, obviously disappointed. He appeared so sad that I almost felt close to tears. But to my great relief, his face lit up when he looked at me again. Staring at Jerry beside his feet, he said gently, “Think about Jerry, son. You expected him to be the hunter you trained him to be. But he just isn’t. It is a good thing, and now we’ll just wait to see how you run.”
He gave me a tight hug, said good night and left me. At that moment I understood my father as I never had before, and the love and trust I felt seemed to fill the room. I looked at Jerry, asleep, his legs stretching suddenly as if to be running even in his dreams. To him, running was a great honor and birds no longer mattered to him. To me, being a doctor is not my ideal choice, but new ones await me in the future.

Welcome to Greenfield College. Our goal is to build a supportive community where every student feels safe, valued, and at home.
Campus Residences: Garden Halls and College Suites
Greenfield College provides two styles of student accommodation: Garden Halls and College Suites.
Garden Halls are made up of ten separate blocks. Each block includes six single bedrooms, shared bathrooms, and a common kitchen with an oven and microwave. There is also a music room and a quiet reading lounge.
College Suites are located in a four-story building. Every floor has five suites, each with four bedrooms, bathroom facilities, and a small kitchenette. Each floor features a shared lounge equipped with a television, sofas, and board games.
Safety and Support
Campus Safety Patrol is on duty 24/7. If you notice any unusual or unsafe activity, contact Campus Safety immediately at 0800123400.
All students are advised to obtain personal property insurance. The college is not liable for loss or damage to personal items in residences.
Cleaning and Repairs
Cleaning teams regularly maintain all common spaces. Students are expected to clean their own bedrooms and shared kitchen areas.
Repairs and maintenance are handled by the facilities team. If you notice a problem in your room or a shared space, notify the Housing Office. Staff may need to access your room to complete repairs—advance notice will be given.
Moving Out
Students must pay accommodation fees for the entire contract period. When your contract ends, schedule a check-out time with housing staff.
两者的共同点是:私人卧室 (Private bedroom)、厨房设施 (Kitchen facilities) —— 这是一个概括性术语,涵盖了 Garden Halls 的 “six single bedrooms”“a common kitchen” 和 College Suites 的 “four bedrooms”“a small kitchenette”。
根据“Safety and Support”部分明确指出“If you notice any unusual or unsafe activity, contact Campus Safety immediately at 0800123400. (如果您发现任何异常或不安全活动,请立即拨打0800123400联系校园安全巡逻队。)”可知,在宿舍附近看到可疑行为时,应联系校园安全巡逻队 (Campus Safety Patrol)。A项“邮件联系住宿办公室”用于维修通知,非紧急安全事件;C项“告知保洁人员”并非其职责范围;D项“联系保险公司”用于个人财产损失,非处理可疑行为。故B项正确。
23. C 细节理解题。根据“Moving Out”部分提到“If you do not follow this procedure, an inspection will be carried out without you, and any necessary charges will be determined. (如果您未按此程序办理,将在您不在场的情况下进行检查,并确定任何必要的费用。)”可知,若学生未安排退房检查,工作人员仍会在其不在场时进行检查。A项“合同自动延长”文中未提及;B项“学生将无法取回押金”表述绝对,文中仅说明检查后可能产生费用,并非直接扣除全部押金;D项“学生必须稍后安排新时间”与文中“不在场检查”的规定不符。故C项正确。
B
Leading museums worldwide are experimenting with augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies to create new experiences for audiences to engage with art and culture.
To reinvent an interactive experience, museums in China have started using digital humans — computer-generated 3D images resembling real people—to transform visitors’ encounters with history and culture. In cooperation with AI companies, Chinese museums have introduced digital humans as tour guides and ambassadors of tradition.
Ai Wenwen, a digital employee at the National Museum of China, can instantly change outfits, from modern clothing to Chinese traditional dress, and give guided tours of the museum. To give its digital employee the appeal of a human celebrity, the National Museum create a song that is presented as if sung by Ai Wenwen herself.
In addition to museums, digital humans can help bring historical figures to life. The Zhonghua Book Company has launched a virtual avatar (化身) of Su Shi, a celebrated Chinese poet and statesman. With the texts about Su Shi’s life and literary work being fed into the virtual avatar, it can respond to real people in a manner and language resembling this great man in Chinese history. It made its first appearance in a CCTV youth talent show about Chinese poetry, surprising audiences with its remarkable human likeness.
The virtual avatar had conversations with live audiences about poems Su Shi wrote about 1,000 years ago. The TV show even presented an episode of the digital version of Su Shi acting with a human who played his close friend, the great calligrapher Huang Tingjian.
The Su Shi avatar has also become a social media influencer, posting quizzes and educational content on literature, geography, and customs. Additionally, the company organizes in-person events where students interact with digital humans to learn history and literature.
Museums and cultural institutions across China have incorporated the virtual avatar of Su Shi to create interactive exhibitions with themes including afternoon tea, poetry and calligraphy. Audiences at these exhibitions have opportunities to experience the daily life of a renowned poet from the distant past.
24. Why Chinese museums apply digital humans?
A. To reduce the cost of hiring real tour guides. B. To enhance visitors’ cultural experience.
C. To promote latest AR and VR technologies. D. To compete with international museums.
25. What can Ai Wenwen do during tours?
A. Switch clothes in a flash. B. Compose original music.
C. Repair historical artifacts. D. Conduct academic research.
26. How did the Su Shi avatar surprise audiences on TV?
A. By composing poetry on the spot. B. By acting out his close friend vividly.
C. By responding in a human-like way. D. By having a touchable human look.
27. Which is the best title of the passage?
A. The End of Human Guides. B. The Making of a Virtual Pop Star.
C. A Digital Bridge to the Past. D. The Role of AI in Cultural Heritage.

根据第二段“To reinvent an interactive experience, museums in China have started using digital humans—computer-generated 3D images resembling real people—to transform visitors’ encounters with history and culture.(为重塑互动体验,中国的博物馆已开始运用数字人(即模仿真实人物的计算机生成的3D图像)来改变游客接触历史和文化的方式。)”
根据第三段“Ai Wenwen, a digital employee at the National Museum of China, can instantly change outfits, from modern clothing to Chinese traditional dress, and give guided tours of the museum.(艾雯雯是中国国家博物馆的一名数字员工,她可以即时更换服装,从现代服装到中国传统服装,并进行博物馆的导览讲解。)” 故选A。
根据第四段“With the texts about Su Shi’s life and literary work being fed into the virtual avatar, it can respond to real people in a manner and language resembling this great man in Chinese history. It made its first appearance in a CCTV youth talent show about Chinese poetry, surprising audiences with its remarkable human likeness.(将有关苏轼生平及文学作品的文本输入该虚拟化身后,它能以酷似这位中国历史名人的方式和语言与真人进行互动。它首次亮相于中央电视台一档关于中国诗词的青年才艺展示节目,以其高度逼真的人形特质令观众惊叹不已。)”可知,苏轼的虚拟化身通过以近似真人的方式做出回应,令观众感到惊讶。故选C。
27. 主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是最后一段“Museums and cultural institutions across China have incorporated the virtual avatar of Su Shi to create interactive exhibitions with themes including afternoon tea, poetry and calligraphy. Audiences at these exhibitions have opportunities to experience the daily life of a renowned poet from the distant past.(中国各地的博物馆和文化机构都引入了苏轼的虚拟化身,打造了以下午茶、诗词和书法为主题的互动展览。 。故选C。

Simon took as much time as he could pulling on his snow trousers and boots, zipping up his jacket, and finding his helmet and gloves. His brother Gabe paced the front hall. “Let’s go!”
The brothers walked to the park, the sleds (雪橇) bouncing against their snow pants. Swish, swish, swish. Simon could see the sledding hill ahead of them. To him, it looked more like a sledding mountain. It was so high that the park district had built wooden steps into the slope to help sledders climb back up. Kids were taking turns on sleds, screaming all the way down. Simon couldn’t tell if their cries meant they were happy or terrified. Yet he knew which one he felt.
Gabe was taking the steps two at a time. “Come on!” he called to Simon. Simon stared up. He was both sweating and freezing, his stomach knotted like a pretzel. Should he turn back? But the line of kids on the steps behind him meant he had to keep climbing.
At the top his brother stopped and looked at Simon. “Do you want me to go down with you?” he asked. Knowing Gabe wanted to fly down the sledding hill without his little brother, Simon took a deep breath. “I’m going. By myself.”
“Good for you, Simon,” Gabe said.
Simon sat crossed-legged on the sled and gripped (紧握) the plastic handles on each side. His heart was doing leapfrogs. Gabe gave him a small nudge on his back. Suddenly, he was dashing down the hill like a wild penguin. The wind whooshed. The cold stung. He had the handles in a death grip when the sled swung around and sent him flying down the hill backward. BACKWARD! He couldn’t stop. Faster and faster he went. He couldn’t even scream. Was he going to crash? Why had he thought this was a good idea?
The ground leveled off, and Simon’s sled slowed and then came to a stop at last. He rolled out and lay on his back, breathing hard.
“Are you all right?” Gabe asked.
Simon sat up slowly and looked around.
“Simon, say something! Say something!” Gabe said.
Simon grinned, “Again?”
28. How did Simon feel before leaving for the park?
A. Excited and confident. B. Hesitant and unwilling.
C. Eager and amazed. D. Shocked and depressed.
29. Why did Simon decide to keep climbing the steps despite his fears?
A. Because Gabe was pushing him to do so.
B. Because he didn’t want to disappoint his brother.
C. Because other kids were waiting behind him.
D. Because the view from the top was too inviting.
30. What happened to Simon when he was sledding down the hill?
A. He lost control and flew backward. B. He skillfully made a perfect turn.
C. He crashed into the ground and got injured. D. He enjoyed a smooth ride down.
31. What can be inferred about Simon’s attitude at the end of the story?
A. He was regretful and didn’t want to sled again. B. He was relieved and grateful to be safe.
C. He was eager to sled a second time at once. D. He felt it unworthy to take the risk.
B 29. C 30. A 31. C
根据第一段中“Simon took as much time as he could pulling on his snow trousers and boots, zipping up his jacket, and finding his helmet and gloves. His brother Gabe paced the front hall. ‘Let’s go!’(西蒙尽可能慢地穿上雪裤和靴子,拉上夹克的拉链,找到他的头盔和手套。他的哥哥加布在前厅里踱来踱去。‘我们走吧!’)”可知,西蒙磨蹭着穿装备,表现出他的犹豫,不太愿意去公园。由此可推断出,西蒙在去公园之前是犹豫和不情愿的。故选B项。
29. 细节理解题。根据第三段中“But the line of kids on the steps behind him meant he had to keep climbing.(但他身后台阶上排着队的孩子们意味着他必须继续往上爬)”可知,西蒙决定继续爬台阶是因为其他孩子在他后面等着。故选C项。
根据第六段中“He had the handles in a death grip when the sled swung around and sent him flying down the hill backward. BACKWARD! He couldn’t stop. Faster and faster he went.(他死命攥着雪橇把手,突然一个急转弯,整个人竟倒栽着飞冲下山!倒栽着啊!根本刹不住。速度越来越快,风在耳边呼啸)”可知,西蒙在滑雪橇下山时失去控制,倒着向后冲了下去。故选A项。

The needs of plus size consumers have long been the elephant in the room of the fashion industry until body positivity and fat acceptance movements promoted the slogan (口号) that large-bodied people are not those who are left behind. This size-inclusive (尺码包容) trend has become so popular that it is influencing mainstream culture. As a result, fashion brands have finally decided to extend their size ranges. In 2022, the plus-size market grew twice as fast as the standard size market in both North America and the UK.
Yet, many consumers say fashion brands broadening their ranges are not truly inclusive. “Inclusive sizing means that all bodies are included in fashion, not just the ones who fit in standard sizes,” says Marie Southard Ospina, a UK-based journalist who covers body-image issues. “However, what many designers do right now is pick a number that they think is big enough to include plus sizes and stop. This is even more disrespectful.”
Researchers also criticize that some brands are just taking advantage of the trend. “Brands that used to promote so-called perfect bodies in their advertisements are now trying to get in on the trend by adding a few sizes. It doesn’t feel like they really care about plus-size people,” says Tom Burgess, analyst in fashion industry. “If brands cared about large-bodied consumers, then it wouldn’t have taken until now to acknowledge that they exist,” he says. “It gives the impression that companies are just trying to gain a share of the market without a real commitment to the community.”
The fashion industry must go beyond merely producing clothing in a range of sizes if they hope to succeed with a body-diverse world. The whole industry has to connect on a personal level with consumers. That involves showing shoppers that they are seen, understood and important to brands. “Consumers care about values, and so they want to buy from brands that reflect the values they believe in. Everyone should enjoy the same range of fashion options,” says Ludovica Cesareo, professor of marketing at the College of Business in the US.
32. What do the underlined words “the elephant in the room” mean in the first paragraph?
A. The hot issue that is valued. B. The obvious truth that is ignored.
C. The important principle that is recognized. D. The common phenomenon that is criticized.
33. Why do consumers say fashion brands are not truly inclusive?
A. They pick sizes randomly. B. They offer limited plus sizes.
C. They treat designers disrespectfully. D. They haven’t broadened standard sizes.
34. For what do researchers mainly criticize some brands?
A. Their designs. B. Their quality. C. Their motivations. D. Their advertisements.
35. What does the last paragraph imply?
A. Buyers may deserve fashion that fits their figure.
B. Consumers prefer brands with personalized values.
C. Brands should catch up with the size-inclusive trend.
D. A good brand image is critical in the fashion industry.
B 33. B 34. C 35. B
根据文章划线短语the elephant in the room后的内容“until body positivity and fat acceptance movements promoted the slogan (口号) that large-bodied people are not those who are left behind.(直到身体积极性和脂肪接受运动推动了这一口号,身材魁梧的人并应该被抛在后面。)”
根据文章第二段“Inclusive sizing means that all bodies are included in fashion, not just the ones who fit in standard sizes,” says Marie Southard Ospina, a UK-based journalist who covers body-image issues. “However, what many designers do right now is pick a number that they think is big enough to include plus sizes and stop. This is even more disrespectful.(报道身体形象问题的英国记者Marie Southard Ospina说道:“包容性的尺码意味着所有的身体都包含在时尚内,而不是仅仅符合那些标准尺码的身体。然而,许多设计师现在所做的仅仅是选择一个他们认为足够大的尺寸。这是极其不尊重人的”。)可知,消费者认为世上品牌并不是真正的包容性,是因为他们只提供那些符合标准尺码的身体,而不适合所有的身体,故其提供的大码是有限的,故选B。
34. 推理判断题。根据文章第三段“If brands cared about large-bodied consumers, then it wouldn’t have taken until now to acknowledge that they exist,” he says. “It gives the impression that companies are just trying to gain a share of the market without a real commitment to the community.”(他说道:“如果品牌关心大码消费者,那么它就不会直到现在才承认他们的存在。这给人的印象就是,公司只是想要在市场上占有一席之地,而不是真正的对社区做出承诺。”)可知,研究者批评一些品牌是因为一些品牌并不是真正地关心大码消费者,而只是为了在市场上占有一定的位置,迎合趋势而已,故是因为品牌的动机而批评他们,故选C。
35. 推理判断题。根据文章最后一段““Consumers care about values, and so they want to buy from brands that reflect the values they believe in. Everyone should enjoy the same range of fashion options,” says Ludovica Cesareo, professor of marketing at the College of Business in the US.(美国商学院市场营销教授Ludovica Cesareo说道:“消费者关心价值,因此他们想要从反映他们所信仰的价值观的品牌那里购买东西。每个人都应该享受同样的时尚选择”。)”可推知,消费者在乎自己的价值观是否在品牌那里体现出来,因此他们更喜欢能体现自己价值观的品牌,故选B。

49. 考查动词词义辨析。句意:这可能会导致柜员今后再次寻求帮助,从而使得经理不得不频繁离开自己的岗位去处理同样的问题。A. manage应付,处理;B. negotiate协商;C. confirm确认;D. describe描述。
A. still仍然;B. otherwise否则,要不然,另;C. therefore因此;D. merely仅仅。
A. satisfaction满意,满足;B. account账户;C. investment投资;D. involvement参与。根据上文“If the root cause of the problem is not solved, it will potentially affect customer”以及“The teller, apparently a new employee, was unsure about the __43__.” 故选A。
A. emergent新兴的;B. professional专业的;C. external外部的;D. consistent一致的。根据上文“He called his manager for assistance.”以及“the significance of enabling people to handle tasks independent of”可知,“授人以渔”强调让人能独立完成任务,无需外部帮助(如柜员无需经理帮忙)。
结合上文“This might result in the teller’s asking for help again in the future, causing the manager to repeatedly leave his desk to __49__ the same issues.”
A. ignoring忽视;B. adjusting调整;C. anticipating预测,预期;D. challenging挑战。根据后文“future needs and making the right moves to address them”可知,此处指要有远见,预见未来需求(如预见柜员未来还会遇到同样问题,提前教会他)。
A. case情况;B. task任务;C. situation情况;D. end结束,结局,结尾。

56. dating 57. as 58. which 59. significance 60. to learn 61. and 62. an 63. prepared 64. has become 65. natural
date back to(追溯到)与逻辑主语this ancient town构成主动关系,故应用现在分词dating作后置定语。故填dating。
故填as。
分析句子结构可知,“____ was constructed during the Yuan Dynasty”为非限制性定语从句,修饰先行词The Tianhou Temple,且关系词在从句中作主语,指物,故应用which引导。故填which。
attract sb. to do sth. 故填to learn。
故填and。
此处exciting event为The annual Bamboo Culture Festival的同位语,表示泛指,且exciting以元音音素开头,故应用不定冠词an。故填an。

From the time I was old enough to help on our Indiana farm, I knew what my father expected of me. Three generations of men in my family were doctors. I heard stories of the lives my grandfather had saved and I heard similar tales about my father. As Dad grew ever more godlike in my mind, so did the force of the expectation that I would follow in the family tradition.
But as college neared, I began to feel that becoming a doctor was not what I really wanted to do. I didn’t dare tell him about my uncertainty. With the weight heavy on my mind the summer before college, I was given a challenge that I hoped would be a distraction.
Dad kept several bird dogs which I trained on our farm. As usual, Dad turned Jerry over to me. “See what you can do with him,” he said.
I didn’t anticipate problems. Jerry was a willing dog of about ten months. The first part of his training was easy. He mastered the basics: sit, stay, down, walk. His only problem was “come”. I’d call “Jerry! Here!” He would turn and look at me, then go on about his business. In the following days, I noticed he would just take off through the grass, fast as a wild thing. Despite my intense desire to train him well, I began to feel a strange sense of joy when he ran.
“Why won’t he do what I want him to?” I asked myself. I had never failed with a dog before, but I was surely failing now. When September came, I finally had to tell Dad that this bird dog wouldn’t hunt. The thought that I had failed us both made me guilty.
“Son, I know this dog doesn’t do what he should,” he said, “but what he does do is something he likes.” He continued to look at me firmly. For a moment I felt he could see into my very heart.
“Dad, I don’t think I can do medicine,” I took a solid breath. _______________________________________
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
He gave me a tight hug, said good night and left me. ______________________________________________
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________【答案】

D

40 A whole-foods-based diet provides your body with the building blocks needed to repair muscles and promote recovery, setting off the right changes in your body between workouts.
