Life is full of moments, but some are “special” and stay in our hearts forever. For example, the first time you rode a bike alone, a friend’s hug when you were sad, or in the evening talking with family. These moments aren’t always big, but they change how we feel about ourselves and the world.
Special moments are like treasures. We don’t need to write them down—our hearts remember them. A teacher might praise a shy student’s drawing, making the child feel important. A parent could bake cookies with you on a rainy day, filling the kitchen with laughter. Even strangers can create them: a barista who knows your coffee order, or a neighbor who helps carry groceries. These small acts stay in our minds because they make us feel loved.
Businesses also use special moments. A café might play soft music and serve warm cookies on cold days to make customers feel welcome. A bookstore could hold story time for kids every weekend, turning a visit into a happy memory. An ice-cream shop lets customers decorate their own cones (冰激凌蛋筒)—seeing a child smile while adding something is a moment everyone remembers.
In the end, special moments are everywhere. They don’t need money or planning—just a little care. A kind word, a smile, or a small surprise can make life richer. So take time to enjoy these moments—they make life worth living.
31. What does the passage say about special moments?

33. Which is the structure of this passage?
A. B. C. D.
34. What does the writer suggest people do about special moments at the end of the passage?
A. Plan for them carefully and spend a lot of money.
B. Ignore them because they are too small to notice.
C. Take time to appreciate and enjoy them.
D. Only create them with family and friends.
35. What is the passage mainly about?
A. How to use the power of the moment. B. Why people forget small moments.
C. When to plan big and exciting events. D. Where to find the most expensive treasures.

British scientist Jane Goodall, known for her pioneering studies of chimpanzees (黑猩猩), passed away on Oct 1 at the age of 91. A post on the Jane Goodall Institute’s Instagram page said she died of natural causes while on a speaking tour in the US.
Born in England in 1934, Goodall had a natural love for wild animals and dreamed of working with them in Africa. In July 1960, aged 26, Goodall finally traveled to Tanzania and entered the little-known world of wild chimpanzees. Over the next 60 years, Goodall’s research changed how people understand human relationships with chimpanzees and introduced a new way to study wildlife.
Goodall’s research was pioneering because she lived closely with wild chimpanzee groups to learn about their social lives. She gave names to each chimp and formed close relationships with them, learning how similar they were to us. She saw that chimpanzees have complex (复杂的) social lives and different personalities, such as being shy or outgoing.
Two of Goodall’s most important discoveries came in 1960. That year, she saw a group of chimpanzees eating red meat, challenging the old idea that chimps only ate plants. She also saw something even more surprising—a male (雄性的) chimpanzee making and using tools. This finding changed the long-held idea that humans are the only animals that use tools. Since then, scientists have found evidence (证据) of tool use in many parts of the animal world.
Besides her research, Goodall traveled the world to speak about the dangers facing chimpanzees and the environmental challenges facing Earth, encouraging people to take action for all living things and the planet we share. “The least I can do is to speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves,” Goodall told National Geographic magazine.
36. What is Jane Goodall best known for?
A. Discovering a new species of chimpanzee.
B. Her decades of research on chimpanzees.
C. Being the first female zoologist in the world.
D. Calling on people to take care of wildlife.
37. What significant change did Goodall bring to the study of wildlife?
A. She did experiments on wild animals.
B. She studied wild animals’ social lives.
C. She was the first to compare animals with humans.
D. She lived closely with animals to study them.
38. What was one of Goodall’s most important discoveries about chimpanzees?
A. They have simple social lives. B. They can make and use tools.
C. They prefer to eat red meat. D. They are not dangerous animals.
39. What does the underlined word “those” in the last paragraph refer to?
A. Wild animals. B. Environments. C. Humans. D. Scientists.
40. Where is the passage probably from?
A. A science magazine. B. A novel about wildlife.
C. A history textbook. D. A travel guidebook.

On the night of October 31st, a Long March rocket carrying the Shenzhou-21 spacecraft (航天器) was successfully launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. Inside were three Chinese astronauts: Zhang Lu, Wu Fei, and Zhang Hongzhang. In just 3.5 hours, the Shenzhou-21 spacecraft successfully docked (对接) with the Tianhe Core Module of China’s space station on the morning of November 1st. This set a new record for the fastest docking in the history of China’s Shenzhou missions (任务).
This 3.5-hour docking was a first for China with astronauts on board. Scientists improved the technology by optimizing (优化) the flight path and shortening the distance. This reduced the docking time from the previous 6.5 hours. This breakthrough not only enhances the comfort of astronauts, but also improves the flexibility and emergency (紧急情况) response ability of space station missions.
The three astronauts have different roles: space pilot, flight engineer, and payload expert. Zhang Lu serves as the commander, and Wu Fei and Zhang Hongzhang are making their first space flights. They will stay in space for six months. During this time, they will conduct 27 scientific experiments. One interesting experiment will study the effects of weightlessness on four mice.
The previous crew, Shenzhou-20, is ready to return to Earth. The Shenzhou-21 crew will also welcome the visits of Tianzhou-10 and Shenzhou-22 during their stay. These efforts continue to increase the value and capabilities of the Chinese space station.
41. What is the main achievement of the Shenzhou-21 mission mentioned in the passage?
A. It carried the first woman astronaut to the space station.
B. It achieved the fastest manned docking for China.
C. It built a new core module for the space station.
D. It will return to Earth in 3.5 hours.
42. What does the underlined word “previous” mean?
A. next B. last C. future D. new
43. How many of the Shenzhou-21 astronauts have been to space before this mission?
A. All three. B. Two. C. One. D. None.
44. What will the astronauts do during their six-month stay?
A. Build a new space laboratory. B. Train for the next rapid docking.
C Conduct scientific experiments. D. Prepare for the launch of Tianzhou-10.
45 Which of the following is an advantage of the faster docking time?
A. It allows the rocket to carry more astronauts.

D. Only create them with family and friends.
35. What is the passage mainly about?

C. Being the first female zoologist in the world.
D. Calling on people to take care of wildlife.

A. She did experiments on wild animals.
B. She studied wild animals’ social lives.
C. She was the first to compare animals with humans.

38. What was one of Goodall’s most important discoveries about chimpanzees?
A. They have simple social lives. B. They can make and use tools.

A. Wild animals. B. Environments. C. Humans. D. Scientists.
