At the end of the first half, neither team managed to score.
In the second half, the situation on the field became even more intense. In the 52nd minute, Xu Rui of Suzhou was shown a red card for excessive physical contact during a scramble.
根据第一段中“This game was crucial for both sides. Xuzhou aimed to secure a top-four position in the league table, while Suzhou had to win to keep their hope of qualifying for the knockout stage alive.( 这场比赛对双方都至关重要。徐州的目标是确保联赛前四的位置,而苏州则必须获胜才能保持晋级淘汰赛的希望。)”可知,从第一段我们能了解到两队目标不同但都关键。故选A项。
根据第三段中“In the second half, the situation on the field became even more intense. In the 52nd minute, Xu Rui of Suzhou was shown a red card for excessive physical contact during a scramble. With one player less, Suzhou’s players showed great solidarity. They still created many offensive opportunities.( 在下半场,场上的情况变得更加紧张。第52分钟,苏州市的徐睿因在争抢中过度身体接触被红牌罚下。虽然少了一个队员,但苏州的队员们表现出了极大的团结。他们仍然创造了很多进攻机会。)”可推知,苏州队在 52 分钟时一名球员被罚下(少打一人),但仍展现出极强的团结(great solidarity),且持续创造进攻机会,直到比赛后期仍未放弃,体现了“坚韧不拔”和“团结”。故选C项。
【26题详解】
推理判断题。根据第二段中“In the 5th minute, Wang Kaixuan, the No. 33 player of Xuzhou, made a cross from the side, but it was cleared by Guo Hao, the goalkeeper of Suzhou.( 第5分钟,徐州市33号球员王凯旋在边路传中,但被苏州市门将郭浩解围。)”、第三段中“In the 52nd minute, Xu Rui of Suzhou was shown a red card for excessive physical contact during a scramble.( 第52分钟,苏州市的徐睿因在争抢中过度身体接触被红牌罚下。)”以及“In the 88th minute, Xuzhou took a comer kick, and Yang Hao, the No. 8 player, headed the ball into the goal, changing the score to 1:0.
故选A项。

For example, when it comes to product with some objective measures of quality, there is a big gap between the views of the ordinary shoppers and experts.
A study in 2016 by Bart de Langhe of Vlerick Business School, in Belgium, and his co-authors found that user ratings for 1,272 items were listed on Amazon.com with professional evaluations. It found that user scores did not match expert opinions or even the products’ resale value. That might be because consumers place greater value on more subjective things like a product’s brand. But if ratings are based on subjective criteria, then another problem arises: what if your tastes differ from other people’s? The best book ever, according to members of Good Reads, an online community of bibliophiles, is “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins. You may agree, but plenty of people do not.
Another problem is that the people who bother to leave reviews and ratings may not be representative of consumers as a whole. In a study published in 2020, Verena and her co-authors examined the distribution of ratings left in around 280m reviews of more than products and services on 25 different platforms. They broadly confirm a familiar pattern: a polar distribution of ratings, with more of them at the extremes of the scale than in the middle, and a tendency towards more positive ratings. There are lots of theories as to why online reviews follow this pattern. People who have chosen to buy something are already more likely to be satisfied with it. Extreme experiences, good and bad, are more likely to post reviews.
So how can you use reviews wisely? Don’t focus only on the average rating. Pay attention to how many reviews there are — more reviews often mean greater popularity. Also, read the comments carefully. They can tell you whether the reviewer’s preferences match your own. In short, online reviews can be helpful, but it’s important to read them critically.
28. How does the author illustrate the problem that user ratings may not be reliable?
A. By listing numbers. B. By giving definitions.
C. By making comparisons. D. By providing examples.
29. What is the familiar pattern confirmed by Verena and her co-authors?
A. Most ratings are in the middle. B. Ratings are more extreme and positive.
C. Ratings are almost the same across platforms. D. Negative ratings are far more than positive ones.
30. What can be concluded from the final part of the passage?
A. Online reviews are useless for making decisions.
B. The average rating is the most reliable indicator of quality.
C. The number of reviews is the main factor one should consider.
D. A wise approach involves thoughtful analysis rather than passive acceptance.
31. What does the author think of online reviews?
A. They are as accurate as expert opinions.
B. They are unreliable and should be avoided.
C. They are useful but should be used with caution.
D. They are more helpful for traveling than for shopping.

Health care has high hopes for artificial intelligence, but new studies warn: simply handing doctors AI tools does not guarantee better care. In fact, the software is already beating physicians at some tasks, while doctors remain unsure how much to trust it. The way forward, researchers argue, is a clear division of labor instead of forcing man and machine to double-check every case together.
Three models are emerging. In the first, the doctor still talks to the patient, takes the history and examines the body. A Harvard-Stanford study shows why this order matters: when AI tried to interview patients directly, its diagnostic accuracy fell from 82% to 63%, a proof that natural conversation and the art of knowing which follow-up question to ask remain human strengths. Once the clinical data have been gathered, the algorithm steps in, using rapid pattern recognition to suggest possible diagnoses.
The second model reverses the sequence(顺序). AI screens the charts first, lists likely diseases and proposes treatments. OpenAI’s latest models scored highly on complex case studies in 2024, displaying an almost talent for linking symptoms to evidence. The physician then reviews the list, adjusts drug doses for kidney failure, chooses the inhaler the patient’s insurance will pay for, or decides a scan is unnecessary — tasks that demand social context and experience.
The most extreme idea is complete separation. Algorithms read normal chest X-rays or low-risk mammograms alone; radiologists step in only when something looks suspicious. A Danish system correctly identified roughly half of all normal chest films, and a Swedish trial of 80,000 women boosted breast-cancer detection by 20% while cutting radiologist workload almost in half. Such setups could relieve the worldwide shortage of imaging specialists and bring rapid screening to rural clinics where no expert sets foot.
Whichever model is chosen, hospitals must decide who carries legal responsibility, regulators must set safety thresholds(门槛) and medical schools must teach future doctors when to trust their own senses. If these questions are answered early, the promise of AI — earlier diagnosis, wider access, lower cost — can be delivered without compromising the human core of medicine.
32. What does the Harvard-Stanford study reveal?
A. Doctors over-rely on AI to gather clinical data.
B. AI is better than doctors at taking medical history.
C. AI’s direct patient interviews lower diagnostic accuracy.
D. AI’s pattern recognition works best in patient interviews.
33. What can we infer about the doctor’s role in the second model?
A. Doctors are being replaced by AI.
B. Doctors mainly collect initial patient data.
C. Doctors double-check every AI suggestion.
D. Doctors concentrate on tasks requiring human judgment.
34. Which best reflects the passage’s structure?
A. Present an opinion → Introduce models → Offer solutions.
B. Argue against AI → Give counter examples → Predict AI’s future.
C. Introduce AI’s potential → Compare human-AI skills → Warn AI’s risks.
D. Explain human-AI conflicts → Analyze AI’s limits → Call for doctor training.
35. What is the suitable title for this passage?
A. AI Tools in Medical Care: Who Wins?
B. AI Tools in Medicine: What Their Risks Are?
C. AI in Hospitals: How to Improve Diagnostic Accuracy?
D. AI in Healthcare: How to Find the Right Cooperation Model?
C 33. D 34. A 35. D

根据第二段中“A Harvard-Stanford study shows why this order matters: when AI tried to interview patients directly, its diagnostic accuracy fell from 82% to 63%, a proof that natural conversation and the art of knowing which follow-up question to ask remain human strengths.( 哈佛大学和斯坦福大学的一项研究揭示了为什么这个顺序很重要:当人工智能试图直接采访患者时,它的诊断准确率从82%下降到63%,这证明自然的对话和知道问哪个后续问题的艺术仍然是人类的优势。)”
根据第三段“The second model reverses the sequence(顺序). AI screens the charts first, lists likely diseases and proposes treatments. OpenAI’s latest models scored highly on complex case studies in 2024, displaying an almost talent for linking symptoms to evidence. The physician then reviews the list, adjusts drug doses for kidney failure, chooses the inhaler the patient’s insurance will pay for, or decides a scan is unnecessary — tasks that demand social context and experience.( 第二个模型颠倒了顺序。
故选A项。
根据文章大意以及第一段“Health care has high hopes for artificial intelligence, but new studies warn: simply handing doctors AI tools does not guarantee better care. In fact, the software is already beating physicians at some tasks, while doctors remain unsure how much to trust it. The way forward, researchers argue, is a clear division of labor instead of forcing man and machine to double-check every case together.( 医疗保健对人工智能寄予厚望,但新的研究警告说:简单地向医生提供人工智能工具并不能保证更好的护理。

Dear Caroline,
I’m so sorry to hear about your sprained ankle.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Yours,
Li Hua
Dear Caroline,
I’m so sorry to hear about your sprained ankle. When it comes to the treatment, I prefer acupuncture to surgery.
To begin with, as a traditional Chinese therapy, it’s gentle and has few side effects. Besides, there is no need for long recovery from cuts. Last but not least it not only eases pain quickly but also helps reduce swelling from the sprain. If it doesn’t meet your expectations after a short course, you can still turn to surgery later.
Hope you will recover soon!
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
Dear Caroline,
I’m so sorry to hear about your sprained ankle. As to choosing acupuncture or surgery, I prefer the latter. Firstly, surgery can fix the injured ankle directly, which means a faster and more thorough recovery. As a result, you won’t have to deal with prolonged pain or the risk of the sprain getting worse. Additionally, modern medical technology makes this small surgery very safe and precise, thus easing your anxiety and concerns about the surgical risks.
Wish you a quick recovery!
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua

My friend Carole’s birthday was approaching and I wondered what to give her as a gift. I had two pots of beautiful flowers and I knew Carole liked flowers. However, the two pots of flowers were rare and I brought them from a forest very far away, which took me great effort. So, I hesitated.
There wasn’t a cloud in the sky on one warm June morning when Carol e and I started out for a day of shopping. We had learned of a quilt (被子) shop which had unique quilts created by skilled women from a nearby company. Carole’s heart was set on finding a blue- and- white quilt to put the finishing touch on her guest bedroom.
We parked the car next to the only traffic light in town, heading towards the quilt shop. But next door, a newly opened small store that sold pretty clothes, shoes, etc. attracted us. So we first walked into this store, where we admired the most wonderful collection of umbrella s we had ever seen. As I ran my fingers across one special umbrella, I heard myself whisper, “These are the most beautiful umbrellas...”I loved the items so much.
A sales clerk hurried to my side. “Perhaps you’d like to try one of them out,” she suggested. I opened the attractive umbrella. Underneath it, I felt wonderfully carefree and sheltered from the whole world. But with new things to buy, there was no money for expensive umbrellas. Besides, even if I could afford one, it wouldn’t be a practical purchase. Back in the second grade, I had once eyed a beautiful, pink umbrella in a department store window. “I need a beautiful umbrella,” I said to my mother. “No, you need a practical umbrella,” she said. “Besides, you might lose it.” With tears in my eyes, I put down that pink umbrella!
Coming back from my memory, I told the clerk, “Thanks for showing me the umbrella.” Then, I headed next door to the quilt shop, a few steps ahead of Carole.

When her steps caught up with mine, I noticed a long, thin box under her arm. “What’s that?” I asked, curious. Carole smiled mysteriously and handed me the box. “Open it,” she said. Inside was the very umbrella I had admired in the store. “Happy early birthday!” Carole exclaimed. I was speechless. “But… how did you know?” I stammered. “I saw the way you looked at it,” she replied. “I wanted to give you something special, just like you always do for me.” Tears welled up in my eyes as I hugged her tightly. “Thank you, Carole. This means so much to me.”
Back home, I took the umbrella sent by Carole and walked towards my flowers. I realized that the joy of giving was far greater than the effort it took to obtain those flowers. With a smile, I carefully dug up one of the pots and placed it in a beautiful gift bag. The next day, I visited Carole and handed her the bag. “Happy birthday, Carole,” I said. Her eyes lit up as she saw the rare flowers. “These are beautiful! Thank you so much!” she exclaimed. As we sat together, admiring our gifts, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for our friendship and the simple joys it brought into our lives.

On the evening of September 20, 2025, the 12th round of the Jiangsu Province City Football League (also known as “Su Chao”) witnessed an exciting match between Xuzhou and Suzhou at Xuzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium. This game was crucial for both sides. Xuzhou aimed to secure a top-four position in the league table, while Suzhou had to win to keep their hope of qualifying for the knockout stage alive.
The game started with high-intensity confrontations from both teams. Xuzhou, playing at home, frequently launched attacks, hoping to gain an early advantage. Suzhou, on the other hand, played steadily and looked for opportunities through quick counter-attacks. In the 5th minute, Wang Kaixuan, the No. 33 player of Xuzhou, made a cross from the side, but it was cleared by Guo Hao, the goalkeeper of Suzhou. At the end of the first half, neither team managed to score.
In the second half, the situation on the field became even more intense. In the 52nd minute, Xu Rui of Suzhou was shown a red card for excessive physical contact during a scramble. With one player less, Suzhou’s players showed great solidarity. They still created many offensive opportunities. In the 80th minute, Liu Tao, the No. 33 player of Suzhou, headed the ball towards the goal, but it was cleared by Wu Hongyang, the No. 6 player of Xuzhou, at the goal line. Then, both teams attacked and defended alternately, and the game was in a stalemate. In the 88th minute, Xuzhou took a corner kick, and Yang Hao, the No. 8 player, headed the ball into the goal, changing the score to 1:0. Finally, the whistle blew, and Xuzhou won the game.

During summer holidays, many travelers rely on online reviews from sites like Tripadvisor or Amazon. But how much should you trust them? The quick answer is: it’s better to have some information than none. However, online reviews have clear weaknesses.
So, how can you use reviews wisely? Don’t focus only on the average rating. Pay attention to how many reviews there are — more reviews often mean greater popularity. Also, read the comments carefully. They can tell you whether the reviewer’s preferences match your own. In short, online reviews can be helpful, but it’s important to read them critically.
28. How does the author illustrate the problem that user ratings may not be reliable?
A. By listing numbers. B. By giving definitions.
C. By making comparisons. D. By providing examples.
29. What is the familiar pattern confirmed by Verena and her co-authors?
A Most ratings are in the middle.
D
A AI Tools in Medical Care: Who Wins?
B. AI Tools in Medicine: What Their Risks Are?
C. AI in Hospitals: How to Improve Diagnostic Accuracy?
D. AI in Healthcare: How to Find the Right Cooperation Model?
